I’m the boss. I’ve been called a bully, a brute, unbearable. I’ve never cared about other people.
But she’s different. My new assistant. My obsession.

Khan
Eden walked into my office and met the beast of the boardroom, or so they call me, but it didn’t scare her off, not at all. Instead, she buckled down and became the best assistant I’ve ever had.
As for me, from first glance, I was lost. I need her close, I need to know everything that was going through her beautiful mind.
When thugs take over the event we are attending, trying to steal the special exhibit, I will protect Eden, no matter the cost.
I might fly private and live in luxury now, but I wasn’t brought up this way. I was brought up a street hustler, a violent bruiser, and I’m still that man, underneath my suit.
I’ll keep Eden safe, no matter what.
She belongs to me, and I don’t share.

This story did a lot of leaping around and leaving things out. One minute something happened, the next it's the next day and you don't know how it got there. The spice level was pretty nil as well. The plot...well, there really wasn't one, so that was just wishful thinking that I could possibly write a review about one. This whole thing just fell flat on its face and never recovered enough even to attempt to get back up.
The MMC wasn't a very good character. The author didn't flesh him out enough to make him even remotely likable. There was hardly any background information on him, or even on the FMC, for that matter. There were hints here and there, but the author never settled on anything that would make the "real" to the reader. They were more like paper cut-outs than characters that felt like they'd leap off the page. I think that is an important element when writing a book...making the subjects almost life-like...and these weren't anywhere close to that.
The FMC was...bratty. Too bratty for the job of an assistant to a CEO. I mean, no one in their right mind would EVER talk to their boss the way this girl did. She was too snarky, too bold, and too out of place.
One thing to be said about this author is...she likes to re-use phrases. So far, in every book I've read of hers, the MMC would tell the FMC, "You’ve taken up all the space in my head". Umm...okay. Is that really necessary to put into ALL of your stories? It's a bit...hokey. There was such a poor attempt at a storyline that...well remember "the road to nowhere"? Yeah, this was the storyline/plot to nowhere. I can't even give it a one-star rating, and that's pretty sad.

When I started reading Eden and Khan’s story I had a completely different expectation then what I got. It was not something bad, actually just the opposite. When you read many love stories they become predictable so it is refreshing when the author can go off course especially in a series and shake things up. While Khan by all means is all alpha male, hot and out to get what he wants. Eden is strong, smart and feisty as hell. However, there was this stalker vibe going from Khan and it brought confusion to the table. Does he really like Eden as this chemical attraction leads us to believe from the beginning with Eden working for a man that clearly no one else can survive working for, but apparently she can; or are his intentions pure and in her best interest. I was definitely hooked on continuing to see the book through every page to the end. I was so excited to know how Eden and Khan’s story ended. So, just like I said in the beginning, this was a different twist than expected and I really enjoyed it.

    Khan and Eden . . .

Khan was surprised that his new temp, Eden, met him, the boss who usually scared everyone off with his brutish demeanor, then she made sure she was the best assistant he has ever had. He was attracted to her from their first meeting, obsessed actually, and felt his protectiveness rise up to keep her safe.

Khan’s own past history contains violence, living on the streets and needing to fight to survive. Though circumstances have changed, he is still that tough man underneath. So when thieves crash an event and put Eden in danger, Khan is ready to keep her safe and protected, no matter what he has to do to make that happen. Will Eden accept the violence within him? Will she realize his strength would never be directed at her but only there to protect the woman he loves? Recognizing their feelings for each other, could this be the start of something special?

“Baby, believe. I don’t just want you… I’m obsessed with you. I love you. I’d remake my world and yours to keep you with me,” I told her, fucking into her steadily as I spoke. She groaned, rising now. I could see the way her skin flushed and her hips wiggled against me. “I’m going to spoil you and give you the life you deserve. As many kids as you want, homes wherever you want to live, your own gallery to manage… whatever life you want, this is our world now, buttercup, and you can have it all,”

While not my favorite of Bailey’s books because the plot was all over the place, Khan’s love (obsession) with Eden and devotion to her takes the cake

    Loved it!

My first Gia Bailey short story and it won’t be my last. Loved both Khan and Eden and their story and their lives. We found out more about Khan’s background more than Eden’s. I don’t think we ever did find out the the reason of Eden’s fallout with her spoiler spoiler. And their was one time she was super naive. I thought maybe it was a joke but she was definitely serious, I’m sure. lol

All in all, a great love story with the alpha hero I love, and the woman who he falls for that doesn’t take any bull.

I thoroughly enjoyed Khan and Eden's story. His Assistant Obsession by Gia Bailey kept me reading until the last page. Khan quickly becomes obsessed with his newest assistant Eden but she is convinced she doesn't belong in his world. However, she will soon learn that Khan is determined to convince her they belong together. Khan is going to turn his new temporary assistant into a permanent a part of his life but what happens when gunmen attack while they are at a black tie museum gala?

    Hero billionaire boss, abrupt, workaholic
    heroine temp secretary, hardworking

Didn’t get a sense of how old they were. I’m guessing 20s and 30s
    No OTT JP behavior
Insta obsession for hero but heroine was a little bit stubborn, in denial
Some background on the hero. Virtually nothing on heroine
1 Sex scene happened close to the end. Lackluster
    No separation/ OM/OW drama
    HEA
    Epilogue 1 yr out

This was a good age gap/ office romance. Khan and Eden had an instant connection and it was clear and palpable for me as a reader. The story had both the instant connection and then still a rather slow burning romance and I enjoyed that. This was a good story.

I really enjoy a workplace romance and this one had great characters and decent chemistry. But the plot had holes about Eden's backstory and there weren't enough interactions between them to build the story. It's a fast read with a good ending.

  • SBee Reviews

★ “All of this craziness, for one woman, and one you just met as well”★

—>>> This was rather more cute and sweet than OTT extra spicy for me, and there was a highly possessive boss, but this was a good short read nevertheless, complete with a neatly buttoned HEA and epilogue. Mild action/drama, good characters.

  • Leslee

Loved this one so much because Eden is so feisty. I enjoyed Khan so much because he was so stoic and underneath all that calm was a total and complete annihilation of his ambitions. All that consumed him now was to make Eden his completely. She doesn't make it easy on him but he just steamrolls right over her walls. So fun, can't wait to read more from this author!

  • Michele

This is a fantastic book - over the top hero and a sassy heroine who find each other and make their own world. Great characters, just enough sass and of course a happily ever after.

I love me a good office romance. I loved how she just flat on quit her job after kissing the boss😂
He does come off as a bit toooo possessive but I love how he cares for her and managed to make the best of their situation.

  • kymagirl

Khan (H) is a tough, controlling boss who's been sent a new temporary assistant, Eden (H). There's an instant attraction between the two and Khan sets out to make Eden his. Sweet instalove for Khand and Eden in this quickie romance. HEA.

    Fun read.

But c’mon! They would use “Ms.”, not “Miss.”
    Ugh. Huge pet peeve.

  • padmaja

Felt like there was too much idle chit chat or the pace was slow somewhat

The character of Khan could be more interesting and hot, than whatever OTT we were promised.

  • Jude

    Totally enjoyed reading this book
