Inspite of a good cancer treatment plan and a disciplined life led by Mr. Tripathy, his condition deteriorated and one day he passed away.

Mr. Tripathy once told Ipshita he had a death wish. The day he died, Ipshita was given some letters which was Mr. Tripathy's wish that Ipshita should deliver. There was also a letter for her.

    Whom were those letters for?
What did Mr. Tripathy write in the letter which was for Ipshita?
Her life is going to change. How?

Read and find out. I can assure one thing that it will be an emotional journey for the readers. A lot of revelations would be made, a lot of things would come back. I lot of regrets would pierce the heart.

This book is written with a lot of emotions. If I could give more than 5, I would have.

Simple Story with a Powerful Message. That is what I felt after reading this book. When I finished reading this book, although there was satisfaction, I had many emotions.

The story starts with Ipshita who is a junior resident doctor. Who had moved to Delhi from the countryside?. She has a mother waiting for her back home. Her patients love her as she has a very good relationship with each of them. She meets Mr. Rakesh Tripathy who is an investor but has cancer. Although they don't start on a good note, they bond very well with each other later on. They were friends yet they shared a father-daughter bond. They respected each other's boundaries. In spite of all the possible treatment given to Mr. Tripathy, he didn't survive. After his death, he left letters for Ipshita to be delivered and one letter for her too.

    Book-The Manila Envelope
    Authors-Spriha Mathur & Rashmi Singh
    Genre-Fiction

The words and feelings in the book sprinted like a Bollywood flick. In addition, the writing style of both authors is impressive.

The bond between a patient and a doctor runs above other connections. For two years, Dr. Ipshita has handled Rakesh Tripathi, a lung cancer patient. So in a way, the doctor gets attached to the patient, who reminds her of her father. She receives an unopened Manila Envelope after his death. What does the envelope contain?

Ride with Ipshita to find out if she fulfills her patient's last wish or not? I wished the book to never end. But instead, the book was short and pervaded its sweet scent to the readers.

The title and book cover blended well with the characters of it. Hence, I am giving -4.7/5 for this lovely book.

Generational gaps and problems to understand each other form the central story, moving on to how a person's past and present seem to be at different juncture can be a difficult situation. I liked Dr Ipshita's conflict when she comes to know about Rakesh's past. I am not sure how to put Ipshita and Abhay together. He hates his father and yet wants to tour around with her and give her company. It sounded too contradictory to the natural progression of the character building. Overall, I think young readers would like to read it. Something intriguing and yet not so gruesome about the realities of life.

Whether the relation is of blood or of heart, it is equally special. It is not necessary that this relationship is of blood, sometimes even after accepting it from one's heart, this relationship becomes equally special. Similarly, this story is also about a father-daughter relationship, which is not related to blood but to the relationship of the heart. A 29 year old doctor Ipshita found her father in one of her patients Rakesh. Ipshita was never blessed with her father and Rakesh ji also used to see his children in Ipshita who were never in his luck. This story is heart touching. Anyone can easily connect to it by reading the story. Its language and handwriting is very easy.

This book physically and mentally hit me. Like real hard. Some parts made me real uncomfortable but these things happened (even if it's fiction). So many sensitive, heavy issues are being discussed in this one. And I simply don't know from where to start. I could feel the pain when it was said that Rakesh Tripathy was a murderer, but when Ipshita said he should read Mr. Tripathy's side of story too and made him read the letter, that was a victory.

Every incident in the book is touching and emotional. Recommended to all fictional lovers.

  • Preity

I loved everything about this book.
Storyline is perfect. Both authors have tremendously curated their professional skills into their writings, and hence it emerged like a fine wine.
Firstly, I liked the fact about the generic cause this book has created. There are innumerable reasons, one never knows or never try to understand the real mistakes one makes in his/her life. This story has revealed the dark scars and beautiful amalgamation of love and sacrifices. It definitely displayed last wish importance, and how it soothe everything with perfect intellects.
Secondly, I loved how different cultures, surroundings, specialities, nature and more, were demonstrated by showcasing Indian places i.e Rishikesh, Lucknow and Kolkata. Authors have thoroughly inscribed the pure essence of places and its significance through minute details. Any traveller would love the way, through which one has to open up beyond places.

I personally enjoyed the storyline, and it's presentation. Writing style is average, but it's perfectly lucid. Must read for all generations and I highly recommend to those, who are on the path of grudges and holding regrets in their life.
