Jealous Cop (Jealous Psycho, #1) Reviews

HAHAHA WHAT DID I JUST READ 🤣🤣?!! This book couldn't have been serious. It's like the author took Jessa Kane and Ever Lilac books with OTT psycho possessive heroes and combined them to make a SUPER psycho. I was laughing throughout this entire story 😂.
This is a story about Caleb, a 38-year-old deranged cop with major anger issues. Right from the start, Caleb's explosive temper is shown, as he threatens and aggressively yells at the police chief for passing him up for promotion in favor of someone less terrifying. He escalates the situation to the point of getting put on suspension, which is always a great sign of the perfect romance hero 😍. Caleb then angrily goes to his usual diner to brood, but meets a new waitress there, Clara. He instantly becomes scarily obsessed with Clara, and decides she is his and will mother his many future children. His thought process and delusions are honestly scary as hell, and if he wasn't so "hot," this book would be a horror novel 💀. He then notices that another customer is trying to flirt with Clara.
Caleb then proceeds to act like a complete maniac, breaking the restaurant furniture with his bare hands...
"Looking at where my hands were on the table I see the edge has cracked where I was holding it. Maybe it was already like that? But when I look at where I had my other hand I see the same result."
Decides to go and commit violence against the other customer she's serving...
"Jealousy shoots through me like a bolt of electricity and I’m up and out of my seat. I wish this place had tablecloths so I could cover her up with one and strangle him with the other. But my fists will do what I need to do just fine."
And then goes to beat the shit out of this man. Luckily for Caleb, it turns out that this male customer just so happens to be a serial killer the police were searching for, so Caleb's violent assault ends up being lauded as heroism.
He then abuses his cop authority and stalks Clara to her apartment, bursts into her house and starts interrogating her on completely unrelated and inappropriate things. He also proceeds to rip up a photo of a man she has on her nightstand, acting like a true villain.
"Immediately, the picture isn’t the only thing that’s torn. Half of me is doing a victory lap for destroying the photo of the other man. Now she can’t look at it and judging by her reaction she doesn’t have another. Good. Out of sight out of mind."
“You haven’t seen the last of me,” I warn, flicking the half of the picture that’s still in my grasp until it spins and whirls to the floor like a helicopter shot down out of the sky. “But you have seen the last of him.”
He really being like a video game protagonist that goes bursting into a villager's house, interrogating them about random things, stealing and breaking their shit, then leaving 😂.
Caleb then proceeds to beat up her landlord, and follows her to every job interview to stop her from getting the jobs where "perverts" work. He attacks one of the guys interviewing her for YMCA with a pool stick and ragdolls the guy, probably murdering him. I was dying at this 🤣🤣.
Caleb grabs a pool stick from a nearby table, his eyes never coming off Jack as Caleb closes the last of the distance between us, ramming the butt end of the pool stick into his gut, his hand immediately coming off my wrist as he buckles over in pain. Before he can hit the floor, one of Caleb’s fists, which resembles the end of a sledgehammer, decks him right in the jaw. My interviewer’s entire body goes boneless as he faceplants into the floor, his body lifeless.
“You…you killed him?”
Luckily for Caleb, Clara is also insane, and remains attracted to him and his "protective ways." She gets aroused by him beating and almost killing the YMCA worker, and she goes with him to his house to deepen their relationship. Caleb proceeds to tell Clara how it's going to be, further cementing his status as ideal book husband 😍:
“That’s not how this works, not how life is. What? You think this is the 1950’s? You want me barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen?”
“That would be ideal, but if you have dreams you can be damn sure I’m going to help you pursue each and every last one of them…as long as you give me the family I want with you.”
And if you're still not fully convinced on Caleb's "best husband" status, wait until you get to their intimate scenes!
Bending at the waist he leans in and brings his cheek to my panties. What the fuck? He presses my ass cheeks together into his flesh and then moves his face back and forth, motorboating my crack.
My man legitimately just motorboated her asscrack 😂😂.
"I’m going to lick that chocolate like I’m trying to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll, but not yet."
THIS IS REFERRING TO HER BUTTHOLE. Please, God, why would you ever make references to "chocolate" or "tootsie rolls" when talking about eating ass 💩
But Clara is no slouch in the crazy sex department, either - she nearly kills Caleb during her climax:
And I damn near break his skull when my knees fly inward, slamming into each of his ears as I lose the fight.
I don't even know how the author thinks of some of these things 😭😱💀
There are fluids everywhere and some sick idea inside me wants to bottle them up in a jar, drink them down in a year from now if I can even wait that long. Better yet, figure out how to mix them into some sort of cake and smear it all over her body and eat it again. Eat chocolate mixed with her come while I make her climax all over again…and I’m not even a man who likes sweets. At least I didn’t until I tasted her.
Needless to say, I was very ENLIGHTENED after reading this book.
In the end, Clara comes to accept Caleb and his intense violence and craziness, and they end up with their HEA. It turns out that Caleb's police chief boss was actually corrupt and gets fired, allowing the worst possible person to fill that position - Caleb. The author tries justifying why Caleb didn't get promoted as the folly of nepotism, but in all honesty, we know that Caleb should never be a police officer or in any position of authority or power 💀. Regardless, he gets the job, he gets Clara knocked up with five children, and Clara doesn't mind all the trackers and recording devices he puts on her. I found it a bit strange that Caleb waited until Clara was pregnant before proposing to her, but I suppose there's no understanding this man 🤔.
All in all, this book was hilarious. 5/5 WTF stars. Also, I want to commend our heroine Clara for being the best human fidget spinner I've seen in a romance novel. It was honestly impressive how she got spun around CONSTANTLY throughout the entire story.
"In one abrupt move, his hand on my hip applies pressure and I’m spinning like I’m attached to a Ferris wheel, my body quickly horizontal and my face down as the front of my increasingly damp skirt finds his lap."
"Without more warning, his hand finds my far hip again and he spins me, catching me by the waist as both ends of my body fall limp making me look like the letter n."
“Fuck yeah!” he shouts, grabbing me by the hips and lifting me in the air. He spins me around and I feel like a little girl on a merry-go-round, the one I never experienced as a child, which only makes this feel that much more special.
Safety:
* Heroine is an inexperienced virgin, never been kissed or in a relationship.
* Hero is not disclosed whether he's a virgin or not - I assumed not?
* No OW drama - heroine experiences jealousy over a woman's photo in his car, but it turns out to be the hero's sister
* No OM drama - the heroine is ridiculously beautiful, so every man she meets lusts after her. But she doesn't return any of their feelings and tries to get away. The hero beats any potential suitors up.
* Age gap - the hero is 38 years old, the heroine is 18. 20 year age difference.
* HEA with babies and multiple epilogues. -
So this book was an insane bit of craziness. I’m not even sure how to rate it at this point. This dude was everything the title promises, jealous and psycho. He was also crazy, angry, violent and prone to full on creepy stalking, possessive caveman behaviour which he followed up with illegal voyeurism. I was laughing most of this book so I’m not sure how seriously the author wanted anyone to take this. But if you want a wild read where you question both characters sanity - including their little hooker/cop role play ending in him deflowering her in an old alleyway after beating a potential John half to death - this is it. Seriously,..what did I just read? It was entertaining but in the way that terrible reality tv can be entertaining. Like the writing was borderline abysmal, this whole thing was a train wreck that I couldn’t stop reading. How do I rate this? I could give it a two star it deserves yet I want to know who the next jealous psycho is so I can put it on my tbr. I can’t even dissect it for story merits because it wasn’t really much of a story. Sigh. I’m going with two stars but still I would recommend it if you can get it free. Because my gawd, it was crazy.

This is one crazy, ridiculous OTT but still totally super enjoyable and hot novella 😂
Very Jessa Kane-like so if that's your thing, I'd definitely recommend! -
*Phew* that was spicier than I thought. Never a bad thing in my book, I told you.
Anyway, pretty straightforward story. Psycho possessive policeman locked eyes with younger waitress and pretty much stalked her thenceforth. Very much over the top, very much obsessive.
Hence, I dig it. -
does not compare to the level of obsessiveness Jessa Kane writes, sadly. i’m fully back on my game of reading short novellas non stop with obsessive/possessive/stalkerish H’s and i’ve never been happier. this book wasn’t that good because i expected more. the pacing was super off as well and i wish we got more scenes with the couple but it was mostly the H stalking her or just sporadic plots. one minute the h is saying how much she doesn’t want to bend to his will, and the next she’s sucking him. then the next chapter is (kinda) a time jump where their dating, then another one when she’s pregnant. i think this book is missing a lot of the build up and jumped head first into the relationship.

OTT H/ v- h/ insta
2.75ish 🤣
This was a pretty decent read! Was it perfect- nope. Was it a bit ridiculous? Yup. BUT, I enjoyed it overall. Especially bc it’s got an OTT JP cop H. Lol 😆
The things:
-OTT JP H whose a cop
-JEALOUSSSS lol. This guy can’t deal
With her around other men lol. He pulls a fire alarm to disrupt her interview lol 😂
-stalking behaviors… I don’t really think this is a stalker bc it was minimal BUT, he does stalk her lol. He follows her to her interviews, puts a camera in a vase for flowers and has to delivered.
-protective: he gets her better security for her whole apartment building 😂.
-Instalove…. He sees her and BOOM 💥 she’s it. Lol he is all of a sudden so possessive, he makes sure she doesn’t even take the order of the other guy who is in the coffee shop she’s working in lol
-Br33ding… it’s not a lot of the “action” but he’s very clear about wanting to knock her up ASAP lol
-H is a cop
-age gap of 20 years (h is 18 & H is 37/38)
-clothes ripping 😂
-h is a V but we don’t get the popping scene 😒😫
-HEA
There was some stuff that made no sense but with this type of book that’s fine lol. I enjoyed the crazy jealous and possessive H so much hahaha. A decent read for those days you just need something mindless filled with a crazy jealous H. Lol -
1.5 rounded up to 2 v. generous stars
I came here for the jealous psycho (anti)hero and that is exactly what I got.
Unfortunately, what I didn't sign up for was the tstl heroine who annoyed me nine ways to Sunday.
I didn't like this one.
Too much inner monologue from Caleb, not enough interactions between him and Clara.
I wasn't a fan of the writing, either, something was seriously off.
The characters didn't 'click' for me and I didn't feel the chemistry between them.
And maybe I could've swallow all this up if it wasn't for Clara, our dumber than dumb heroine.
I think my favourite part was when she discovered that he'd placed a secret camera to watch her in her own place and given her a necklace with a tracking device, that was when she realized he did it because he loved her and she was so happy she nearly wept.
Yup, you heard me right.
And if that's not dumb, I dunno what is.
My second favourite was when he was fucking her with his billy club and she started getting off and that's when he got crazy jealous over his own baton.
Yeah...
Is there anything else to add here?
Say what you want, I was intrigued with the concept.
The execution, however, was pretty poor.
I'm rounding it up to 2 stars only because I've read worse.
But read at your own risk. -
2.68 stars
He was jealous.
He was also a cop. -
one CrRAAzzzZZzYy Ride
Ok well I went into this one with eyes wide open. I read the reviews that went into meticulous detail of how INSANE, CRAZY, PSYCHO, violent this hero was. Were they exaggerated? Not at all. Was the hero unhinged? Yes. Ready to beat up any man who looks twice at his girl? Yep. Crossing all boundaries of sanity and courtesy? Yes.
It was amusing. The OTT crazy wasn’t creepy as much as it became comical at a certain point. Suspension of disbelief is a must.
There were some continuity issues with the story that weren’t all that funny—for example, why the hell is the heroine posing as a hooker to snag a John, at some point? This wasn’t explained well enough. I also would’ve liked their first time having sex to be somewhere besides a dirty alley. That wasn’t swoon at all.
Still, it made me laugh, so that’s worth a few stars
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t really mentioned, he doesn’t come off as a manwhore. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No others, no cheating or abuse. HEA with epilogue and kids yes later. -
If you’re looking for jealous, this is for you.
It definitely has an OTT jealous possessive hero. The story fell a tiny bit flat for me and I’m not sure why. All in all, it was a good quick psycho alpha read. -
This book...where do I even begin😭. Well it was definitely what the cover said it was going to be; Jealous, Possessive, Protective, Obsessive and so on. It was also quite funny although some parts had me like 'WTH is going on here' like the scene on the couch in his house. I was like what was the author thinking😭.
Also some of the replies Clara gave to his 'dirty' words had me in tears. And towards the end when they had sex in the alley way was crazy.
A few parts where hard to keep up with like how we had to assume they were dating Cus they acted like it but didn't explicitly say it. There was also the part where he said their relationship should be covert but they had sex in the alley and then proceeded to kiss infront of his partner and the bar tender.
But ig his heart and mind where in the right place.
All in all this book was insane!!! -
I really enjoyed this read!!
I loved the motorboating of butt cheeks, that was by far the best part of the entire book
4.5 stars! Hurray! -
Psycho to say the least…bonkers but he is hot! Sexy times with a crazy stalker! Quick and easy. Might check out the next one
-
Caleb is a hardheaded and kind of difficult police officer. After a bad day he goes to a diner and meets his One. From this point on all bets are off😉He is this jealous and possessive man, that has the urge to protect his woman from everything and everybody. He is OTT jealous and is morally grey. Installve, sweet, darker , OTT, steamy, romantic and totally safe (yes he is a virgin as well🥰🥰) with a sweet HEA😍😍😍😍
-
I don't even know how to rate the over-the-top psycho craziness that is the story.
Are either of the MCs missing some marbles? - yes! They're missing all of them!!!
Did I question the sanity of this author throughout the entirety of my reading? -Absolutely
Did I finish reading this book anyway? - yup 🤣😭 -
So, I gave this two stars instead of one because it was still basically entertaining.
But beyond that, this book was...gross.
Writing issues...disjointed, abrupt transitions.
The "hero" is abusive, violent, and unethical.
The sex scenes are okay except...spitting? God, no. That's just disgusting. And I've yet to meet a woman who enjoys gagging.
Yeah....not reading anything more by this author. -
1.5 stars. I love a good jealous psycho hero, but this one was just meh. The back and forth between the two main characters was confusing. The transition from being concerned to accepting the hero for who he is was weird. The writing style was off. Idk this book was like good but not? Idk man, it was meh I guess

2.9
i dig these kind of books but this was so unenthused
the character was deranged at best, loved the MMC's POV but the writing part could have been so much better
would definitely be a 4 star if not

you see those matching initials? its destiny
not my words (stole it from caleb's monologue) -
What prepubescent teenage boy had his policeman porn fantasy monologue published?
I wanted to include quotes to show you how horrendous this dumpster fire, fever dream, Jessa Kane diy knockoff is, but Goodreads wouldn’t let me input the entirety of this book into my review.
What I’m saying is that the author and I need to have a group therapy session.
Chapter 15, the alleyway scene. Her fucking synonym saturated speech on the detailings of their special fun… It gave MGK and Megan Fox instagram engagement announcement energy. I wanted to claw my fucking eyes out. -
2.5 stars

okay… this was pretty disappointing. had a good strong start but then just went down hill. The hero doesn’t make sense or his writing is inconsistent? idk, same with the heroine. There was one part where the hero’s coworker literally calls a prostitute a prostitute and he gets mad? like that’s her job and she gotta make bank somehow, that’s literally what she is💀 ✋ also he gets the heroine to go undercover and pose as a prostitute then gets mad when a random guy offers her money for sex and says he hates men who pay for sex… like get mad at the girls too etf and you PUT her in that position. then literally afterwards they have sex in a alley way (it’s her first time) and she’s still undercover as a prostitute and they role play paid sex 😭 like he literally just said he hated men who pay for sex yet is literally role playing it. he was such a ick after that 😭
virgin heroine
insta love
cop
age gap
action
could’ve been more jealous tbh
disappointing hero
stalker
push/pull from h
slightly annoying heroine
no ow/om drama (some guy hits in her and heroine gets jealous of hero’s sisters)
dnf 90% (i had one chapter left but i ain’t going through that)
disappointing
sex toy (they used his baton on her which is what took her virginity 💀 apparently every heroines first time isn’t painful in the slightest at all!)
no protection
like 2 sex scenes maybe
no after care
sex wasn’t romantic or swoon at all
rushed
time skip
ick
violence
bad writing
spicy lvl 3/5 -
... What can I say? This book was absolutely entertaining. The MMC was the biggest red flag I have ever read about. If he was a real person I would be deathly afraid to catch his eye.
When it say jealous psycho cop it really means jealous! psycho!.
His opinion of himself, his job and how he is gonna go about seducing the FMC made me really queasy and face-palm.
The spicy scenes were okay. They would have been really good if they hadn't been directly after the protagonist butted heads because she didn't agree with how he was handling her. And than she thought about the situation and how he is soooo protective and did something sexual with him.
If she was a real person I would think that he groomed her. -
This is my first read by Lena Little and I honestly don't know how to rate this one. I read some reviews on this before diving in (I always do that with new-to-me authors) Were they exaggerated? Not at all. The hero is precisely as it says - a jealous psycho. There will be quite a few times that you'll question both character's sanity. I stopped a few times to re-read some parts to ensure I read it right.
If you're looking for a hero who is instantly all in for his girl, extremely OTT, and I do mean extremely then this is the read for you.
As for safety - Safe. Hero’s past isn’t really mentioned, he doesn’t come off as a manwhore. The heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No others, no cheating or abuse. HEA with epilogue and a handful of kids yes later.
3 big stars! -
Jealous and possessive cop finds his “one”.
I really liked this story. It was over-the-top, entertaining, and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Caleb was totally obsessed with Clara from the moment that he saw her. The actions that he took to make sure that she was safe and cared for were a lot but also sweet. It was wonderful that although Clara was torn about Caleb’s actions, she could tell that he was coming from a good place. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

3.5 stars
A fun, quick read about an OTT possessive cop who falls into insta-love with a waitress. Caleb was flatout scary at times which is weird cause I'm never scared by that behavior in mafia men, criminals and the like. Probably because you don't expect them to be good men. That out of control madness is just terrifying in a man that has the law on his side. Despite this I liked Caleb especially after seeing what he thought about hookers and the lengths we went to to protect them. Despite Clara's inexperience, she called out his creepy behavior and let him know it wasn't okay. Enjoyed the epilogues, but unhappy that the author skipped their first time together. -
Ms Little has a new series the Jealous Psycho and this is part 1 of it. Caleb is a cop and one who has been passed for a promotion a few times and is very angry about it and is even banned after an outburst. When he meets Clara, the chemistry and attraction between them is evident. The storyline and characters are well described. I won't tell you everything it's about, to find out, I advise you to read this book and start of a great series. Well worth it.

Jealous Cop is the story of Caleb and Clara.
Age gap, hot jealous possessive cop hero, sassy innocent heroine, he’s got a dirty mouth and so does she, man’s tell me why she lost her virginity in an alley? Worst place to do it but if she likes that then she gets it. At first she’s like no but she’s turned on and then she really thinks about it and changes her mind and goes on a date with him which turns into a blowjob in the car while he’s driving lmao. She helps him with his job and HEA.
Solid 3/5
