Sky has been waiting for Cam to come home from war. When he arrives but doesn't call, she wants to know why.

Sky has always been faithful to her high school sweetheart. They've been together for years, since long before Cam decided to join the military. She stayed with him despite his lengthy deployment, worrying phone calls, and often weeks or months without a word. For Cam to not call her after getting off the plane makes Sky fear he has changed. His previous concerns about her not liking who he has become have her on edge.

Cam left everything behind, including his goal of being a professional pianist, to escape his micromanaging, high-expectation parents, and a sister living the perfect American dream life. Still, despite the miles between them, his heart remained at home with Sky. Now that he's back, he isn't the same mentally...or physically. After being medically retired from service, Cam's sense of purpose is lost.

With the summer packed with Cam's favorite hometown Fourth of July events, Sky hopes to show him that he can still find happiness there with her. From the family picnic and the town parade to the local rodeo and fireworks display, there are plenty of opportunities for Cam to enjoy being home. It just doesn't seem to be enough.

Can Sky show Cam the healing power of love? Or will Cam push her and everyone else away for good?

Sweet and clean holiday romance.

Cherries and Sparks (Farmers' Market Sisters #4) Reviews

  • Mary

    Not A Disabled Veteran

Can came home from war missing part of his leg and with a bad attitude. Sky had waited 2 years for him and wasn't about to give up on him.

A sweet, fun and heartwarming read.

Sky and Cam are high school sweethearts who's love gets tested when Cam returns from the military a different man. He's not only experienced traumatic events that resulted in significant injury, but he's also been medically discharged from the service.

This story really hit home for me since my daily job involves processing disabled service members out of the military. So I can understand Cam's struggles and fears with having endured what he had and how it physically and mentally changed him.

Cam and Sky are a sweet couple. Sky is a great support for Cam after learning of his struggles, and it's inspiring that she never gives up on the love of her life even when he tries to push her away. It's admirable how the two encourage each other to pursue their dreams and stand up for one another when family issues come into play.

Sky's family's berry farm which seems to be a huge hit in the military affiliated town adds a wholesome element to the story.

Another endearing story in the Farmers' Market Sisters series. Each book is a stand alone, but it is a great series.
The main character in this is Sky. Her longtime boyfriend has been in the military and is due home. You can feel her anxiety when she finds out he has come home but has not made an effort to contact her at all. I don't want to list spoilers so you will have to read the story for yourself.

I love Sky for her loyalty and persistance. There is a happy ending. Fall in love all over again with each book on these sisters..... well, except for Azalea. Sometimes you just want to smack her!

I received a copy of this book in advance, and this is my honest opinion.

Sky loves Cam with all her heart and when he doesn’t arrive home when he told her, she goes crazy with worry.
Cam comes back to his hometown broken. He can’t stand the idea of telling his family, let alone Sky. He thinks she deserves better.
I love both characters a lot, but Sky is the best. Her love for Cam is so great you can feel it when reading this story. I liked how Cam starts believing in himself and getting more confident thanks to Sky. He learns that love is the best medicine to heal an injury and someone’s soul.
    Sweet, and gentle.

Sky has always loved Cam. He was supposed to be out of the military, but she wasn’t getting anything from him. She was afraid something had happened. She finally convinced him that she still loved him and wasn’t going to let him go. Having someone really love you no matter what happens goes a long way for a person that has seen too much. Sky showed him that he was still the man for her and no one else. When Sky was hurt, Cam carried her back to the house and stayed with her all the time she was in the hospital. I love how the story ended, with fireworks and more!

Wonderful new story to add to the series. Sky is patiently waiting for Cam to come home. She will need all her patience, strength and tenacity to weather what is happening. Cam is a wonderful guy with lots of courage. They both need each other to get their HEA. Loved it and highly recommend the entire series. Can’t wait for the next one.

Next in the Farmer's Market Series. This is Sky's story. She has waited for Cam while he has been deployed. Then she finds out he is home and didn't tell her. Sky never faltered in her love for Cam, even when he told her to move on. Sweet Romance with a few twists and turns. Very worth your while to read. I highly recommend this book.

I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I did not realize I was jumping into the middle of a series when I picked up this book. Before I was halfway through it I knew I had to get a the other books. The description of what Cam is going through with his injuries and PTSD is among the best, most vivid and eerily accurate of what veterans feel. Sweet and yummy story, it will make you want to binge on the entire series.

Having a strong love for our military, I was automatically intrigued with Cam and fellow veterans. But following how Sky stood by him through all of his challenges and changes after being injured in the war, further drew me into their story of real and true love, despite obstacles. A sweet, meaningful read that will warm your heart throughout.

I enjoyed this veteran/military romance! It's one of the few in that subgenre that I've read and I found this one to be satisfying, inspiring, and heartwarming. The two characters help each other grow; they love and support one another, and they genuinely go through struggles in a realistic way. I received an ARC of this book from the author and this did not affect my review.

Just loved this story. It was one of those books I could not out down.
Good characters and a heart warming storyline.
I did love the loyalty of these two characters.
Cant wait to read the next book in this series.

  • Saundra Callender

This book is my favorite in the series, so far. I really liked Cam and Sky's relationship. It started out shaky but really developed. Each book gets better so by the end of the series I may have a new favorite. I would definitely recommend these books.

    Great series

I started at the beginning of the series. Enjoyed all of what I read so far. I like that all the sisters are still in the story. The family farm and the family values. I can't put it down. A must read.
