Just before my butt naked self could dive into the water, a blur of motion forced me to skid to a halt and my fangs snapped out as I came face to face with Lance Orion in his professor bullshit suit as he snarled right back at me with his fangs out too.
“Fifty points from Terra for showing your cock to a teacher, Altair,” he snapped, his nose wrinkling as he glared at me and I glared right back.Though sometimes Professor Orion showed up here to hang out with Darius, promptly disappearing whenever me or any of the Heirs appeared. I knew Darius had been friends with him for years, but the dude had issues, and since he’d shot a peach into my mouth during sex ed the other day and nearly choked me to death on it for talking too loudly about my sexual experiences, I couldn’t say I was much of a fan of him.

The room is quiet for a long moment. Then Famine lets out a loud, booming laugh.
“I hate to break it to you, flower,” he says, “but for the rest of our mortal lives, you’ll probably have to lower your standards. I now am in the unfortunate habit of eating and sweating and”—I see him shudder in the dim light—”shitting. What an ungodly activity shitting is.”
It’s now my turn to laugh. “How undignified that must be for you.”
“I have been humbled before God,” he agrees.”

I bought this anthology because it was for a good cause and because Laura Thalassa wrote trashy dystopian smut in it. That's good enough reason for me. 😌😌

I came for the good cause and I stayed for that one Lucy Lennox story.
I may pick this up again to try some new-to-me authors, but 90% of the 70 stories within are more like established series extras and epilogues, and therefore, I won’t read them unless (until) I have read what came before.
There are a handful of solo shorts and a couple of prologue type stories, that serve to kick start new series to come, but those were far and few in between and the reader has no idea, unless, like me, they painstakingly go to the author’s note at the end of every single story and check.
Still, worth it for a great cause. -
I only picked this up for the ZA shimmering springs bonus and I could’ve CRIED bc I missed my family so fucking much.
BUT OMF IT WAS CHEFS KISS… until that disgusting ending *shudders* -

Twisted Love - Ana HuangNo one could ground me quite like she could, even when she was the source of my nerves
Alex in a mess? 🙌 We always knew how much Ava had her fingers wrapped around him but in these few pages, we saw the sweet side of him who was insecure at the chance of Ava not saying yes. It is a cute POV and I think it was good revenge to leave Alex on his knees while Ava took her time to say yes 🤣 -
Oh my, I have been waiting for the collection of fabulous stories, by some amazing authors.
I have not read all these stories, but I wanted to share some of the ones I have read now.
Queenside by Skye Warren gives us a sensational glimpse into the future of Avery and Gabriel's wonderful story that begins in The Pawn.
A little Surprise by Katee Robert was a wonderful teaser. I have not read any of the books in this series, and this snippet makes me want to rush out and buy them!
Old Money by Amelia Wilde us Mason and Charlotte's story from Net Worth and boy Charlotte has a surprise!
The Whitney by Alta Hensley & Livia Grant give us an expanded view of that infamous closet scene at The Whitney with Katja and Dex!.
Taken By Moonlight by Pepper Winters gave us a peak at Lawrence and Bellamy on the island of Rapture and Rayvn who arrives to steal and pillage. I can't wait for The Thief and The Heiress! -

Nightingale: An Anthology for Ukraine es un compilado de historias cortas de varios autores, entre ellos, obvio, Laura Thalassa, quien en esta ocasión nos regaló un capítulo extra sobre uno de los jinetes del apocalipsis, en este caso, sobre Famine.
La verdad es que, esperaba con el alma que está pequeña historia se centrará en Peste y Sara, porque fue precisamente con ellos con quienes se inició esta saga, pero no fue así, y lo acepto.
Ok, paso a lo siguiente. Este capítulo titulado Famine's Homecoming se centra en Famine y Ana, justo después del final del último libro que fue Death y lo que aquí ocurre en sí, es una interacción entre estos personajes y -donde yo creo- que más bien se da un cierre al ciclo de ambos, más para Famine, lo que tiene sentido, ya que Famine, no tuvo una conclusión como si la tuvieron Pestilence y War en sus respectivo libros, además que se confírma cuál es el destino de los humanos después de los eventos ocurridos con la llegada de los cuatro jinetes.
Es una historia muy corta que se lee en cuestión de minutos. Agradable y sencilla.

Not only is the humanitarian leadership of these authors in this endeavor admirable, but the stories inside this story are addictively yummy. So many favorites- Siobhan Davis, Shantel Tessier, Parker S. Huntington, Carian Cole, Natasha Knight & Ashleigh Zavarelli, Karla Sorenson, Jenika Snow, Amo Jones, Harloe Rae, Tijan, Amelia Wilde, Skye Warren,Ilsa Madden-Mills, Kandi Steiner just to name a few. Their stories I adored, but I also loved getting to meet some new authors to learn more about. FIFTY original stories and all the royalties to support relief and human rights organizations working in Ukraine. Amazing stories for an amazing purpose. And this cover is a work of art- and in love with the stories inside. Brava to this authors for giving us something beautiful to support something so important.

Our Story - Melanie Moreland - Super sweet and a couple I really can't wait to read more about, this falling in love with your best friend story proves once again that Melanie Moreland understands true love and connections.
Rescue Me - Samantha Chase - Ivy and Connor had been soulmates right up until he walked away to join the Marines, well he is back in his hometown now with a secret that he needs to share. Wil Ivy give him the time of day to reconnect? Simply a heartwarming story.
A Beaumont Family Christmas Epilogue - Heidi McLaughlin - LOVED seeing the next generation fall in love. Rush and Eden fall instantly falling in love on the slopes is not always the easiest to keep from her overbearing but adorable family.
Through Her Eyes - Kelly Elliott - What happens at the end of her dead husband's funeral who just happened to die in a car accident with his mistress, is a connection that needs a bigger story. Kadie and Gage will never be the same after that night and as a lover of anything Kelly Elliott, I cannot wait for the rest of this story.
The Last Ward Wedding -Karla Sorensen - Get ready to wipe a tear off your cheeks, when he last Ward sister is preparing for her wedding. Letting go and allowing the sister you watched grow up is not always that easy - especially for the one person who came into the family amid the chaos. Emotional but so worth it. -
The chapters by Carian Cole are pure perfection. 😭
Torn is one of my favorite books and this glimpse we get during the ending/after the book takes place absolutely stole my heart. It’s everything you could want but yet it excites you all over again.
We get moments from both Kenzi and Toren’s POV that are utterly beautiful. Their connection just incinerates you! It immediately made me want to relive their story all over again while simultaneously yearning for more.
Rina Kent’s chapter is fabulous as well! We get more from our favorite RES families in all their cheeky glory. It‘s always so fun to read anything with this crew and how they’re doing in life.

Taken By Moonlight by Pepper Winters- An heiress is on the beach in the middle of the night, crying over her abusive husband, when she stumbles upon a pirate. Inexplicably, heiress and pirate trade insults and blows, as she appears to lack caution or good sense. Within minutes, their animosity has turned into angry sex in what can only be the fastest ever turnaround. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Smolder by Aly Martinez- Ivy, a mafia boss’ reluctant girlfriend, finally relents to his criminal lifestyle after a kidnapping makes her see the big picture. Nothing could stop Mateo Rodriguez from finding her and keeping her safe. Very well written and burning with the title sentiment. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
