The Duke and the Spinster Reviews

Marina raised her younger twin sisters after their mother died at a young age. Daniel Lock, Duke of Nealton's mother wants him to get married and produce an heir. He likes his freedom and various women.
He decides one of the twins would be the perfect wife for him because she would obey him and he could continue to carry on as he had been. However, Marina refused to let Daniel dance with her sister and vowed to keep him away. That made Daniel more determined to get his way. But then he realized he was developing feelings for Marina. He worked hard to convince her he no longer wanted the life he'd been having and wanted to marry and have a family. And she was the one he wanted to marry. Because of all the interactions between the two, Marina found herself falling for Daniel. Will the two actually get together and have a happy ever after?
This was an enjoyable story with great characters and a good plot. Highly recommended.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.

This was an interesting story and yet, for some reason, it just didn’t grab and hold my attention. I found Marina a little unidimensional, always the good girl who put others first but too frequently lamented her role in life. Daniel was a more interesting character. He had a past but the information provided about this past didn’t seem so terrible as to justify Marina’s condemnation. The pacing did pick up after Blakesley was introduced but then it slowed again.
I’ll continue to read books by this author because I’ve enjoyed previous ones.

The Duke and the Spinster By Emma Linfield

Four stars, Marina was very strong to help raise her twin sisters.. She expected for them to find a good marriage, none planned for herself.. The Duke Daniel, was conform to married a traditional bride preferably one of the twins.. Until he met Marina, the challenge was on.. Neither expected to Falk to fall in love.. Bits of drama, but a good ending

    The Duke who loved me

I preferred this story when it was written by Julia Quinn as part of her Bridgerton series 20 years ago. Fan-fic based on a television adaptation of a book certainly has a place and this is reasonably well-done even if the story and characters are thinly disguised.

    The Duke and the Spinster

This was a beautiful and throughly delightful story. What a pleasure it was to read. And the two families, well so different but in the end it came altogether beautifully. The characters were a delight all except one.But that was to be expected.Emma thank you for this beautiful story.

    Beautiful love story

I enjoyed this book but i have had it a while. It was a good story with love and forgiveness that should be in life. I also like to read of the family later. Thank you.

This is a good book. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion, and this is my honest review.
