Imagine being the only human left on an Earth occupied by monsters, aliens, and worse. Sounds terrible? Well. . .it’s not so bad when you are an introverted battle junkie like me.

Honestly, I was almost starting to appreciate being left behind while everyone else was given the chance to prepare for the mess Earth had gotten itself into. On a side note, it turns out I'm pretty good at hunting monsters. Though dragons and such are a bit out of my league. Just a bit.

I survived dozen-something kobolds that wanted me dead, and now it's time to pay back their leader. Unfortunately for the poor doggies, I have made some allies. Allies they’re gonna hate.

There's just one tiny detail that bothers me. My talking cat companion is hiding something. Something big. Something that has the potential to make deadly monsters the least of my worries. . .

The answers lie in this latest addition to the Post-Apocalypse genre!

Still Left Out By the System (Lonely Apocalypse #2) Reviews

Well that ending was… silly? Somehow makes the entire series kinda worse.

Progression is still bad (yay another whole day has passed) but the POVs did get better, only remember a couple of them. Story is still kind of going nowhere and nothing really happens.

    Its mostly great.

Honestly until the final chapter this was a 5 star review, but that final chapter managed to take a lot of the things that I really looked forward to watching develop into things that I no longer care about in the series. Overall the story was very interesting and well written but the ending just destroyed the magic of the story for me.

The book could have certainly used a: What has happened before.
What happened before: Lex Lurker gets hit by a truck while saving a girl he has a crush on. After spending much time in a coma he wakes up just as the system which just absorbed earth decides he is dead and not worth incorporating.
What happens in this book: He gets stronger as usual for litrpg books, meets some of the other people outside of the dungeon (some sort of cat race). Kills a lot of kobolds (which are some sort of dog race). Then it goes off the rails: Seems Lex Lurker died when hit by the truck, and several of his organs are donated to the brother of the girl he has a crush on. So now in possession of her brothers body, another entity is trying to enter this new earth through this same body...
The first book has a few language issues, as expected by someone whose primary language is not English. In those terms this was a much better book. He enlisted someone else to proof read the book.
As for the story, he completed the dungeon that he started in but then in the last 20 pages or so, went out to left field and kept going.
Another positive over the 1st book is he mostly dropped the weird math of secondary attributes, it still shows up but only 2x in 423 pages instead of every 3-4 pages.

Wow, just wow, cliffhanger and a mind fuck at the end

I have been enjoying the characters, story, theme and progress as Lex discovers his new reality. Plus some possible minor possession that he should fight.
At least he has Ciesta beside him guiding him along as he strives to learn about the system and survive the challenges of presents him. Meeting some new beings changes the dynamic a bit as we see a common theme in the eternal war between cats and dogs!
Lex also starts to experiment with his concepts more and works towards his class requirements. Then embraces his new class and concepts as he learns to use them and tries to develop his personal fighting style.

And the ending reveal was a big surprise!

I was drawn into these first two books and had no problem reading past the translation or print errors.

Pretty mediocre in my opinion. While I kinda liked the first book, this book hardly improves on it, making it very "meh". The author tries to blend litRPG elements with cultivation, but it's kind of weak. Most times wih cultivation/Dao concepts the protagonist needs some insight to advance said concept. Here just using it is leveling it up. This feels like a cultivation "very light mode" kind of story and does not give a lot of depth.

The ending is somewhat of a cliffhanger, so be warned. I wonder if I'll pick up the third book in this series.

After enjoying - with caveats - the first book in this series, I was rather excited to dive immediately into the second novel. However, I was left extremely disappointed. The flaws in the first book remained prevalent - a lack of focus, hyperfixation on the stats and mechanics of the world/game/etc, and a complete lack of progress. However, the flaws stood out much more in this book, where *literally almost nothing happens* overall, and it frankly took away from some of the good work with characters and creativity.

    acceptable

It needs another proofreading pass. Simple, obvious mistakes that should have been caught. Not *unreadable*, just a bit sloppy.

The narrative is challenging to read because the system is complex. Maybe too complex. And by comparison to the first book where we got a glimpse of people *in* the tutorial, this never visited those people. Making me think the author changed directions.

I don’t know. It wasn’t awful. I *did* finish it. But it got a bit weird.

    Excellent Series

Was an interesting storyline that I found intriguing I look forward to the continuation of this series as the way the 2nd book ended in a bad way leaving to many questions unresolved and seeing that it will take a few more books to tie current plot up means ill probably have to wait years to finish ( books like this make only want to read completed series .

    can’t complain. definitely binged it

While the end twists were foreshadowed really hard so I guessed it. I was still on the edge of my seat. Nice progression but these types of books rarely make it to or past 8. If the story line continues like this it’s not going to get far. Hope Constantin ramps it up soon! But overall a good book. Just sad I read it in 2 days!

Pretty decent story overall. Liked the story, though towards the end it got a bit heavy for my tastes, and while we learned the reason for the system acting differently with this character, I don't think it was handled well, but that's part of the fun I guess, having authors do what the reader doesn't expect. :) Anyhow, decent story, and a pretty good read, especially if you read the first one.

    KU Review

Fun and silly with definite dark undertones. Certainly separates itself from the first novel with the interactions and direction it seems to be heading. Larger story starts to materialize.

As the title says this is a review for Kindle Unlimited and as such is a reflection of my enjoyment of the book and in no way reflects cost to value analysis.

Fun, but still overtalks a bit

I did enjoy this story, but sometimes the narration dwelled too much on the different options or choices the MC had to choose from. It was a lot of discussion. I'm sure some people enjoy that....i kinda skimmed that and moved on to the action and interactions. Those are done excellently. Fun book. Can't wait to see where the author takes it next!

    4.25*

    I enjoyed it.

All in all a good entry in the system apocalypse genre. Not life changing but worth a read. Minerly hindereddered by English not being the authors first language.
