That’s what Jude is to me.
My older brother doesn’t trust me with his player of a best friend.
Which is totally fine, because I’m not interested.
As Jude and I reluctantly become friends, I start to see that there’s more to him than others notice. But I still won’t go there, not when I have a crush on someone else. But Jude’s the perfect person to help show me the ropes when it comes to the opposite sex, besides it’s not like he’ll get attached to me.
Except he does.
And the thing about broken boys?
They’re way too easy to fall for.

3.5 stars
Broken Boys Can’t Love is the 5th book in Micalea Smeltzer’s ‘The Boys’ series and one I was really looking forward to. I mean, brother’s best friend and forbidden romance are my jam. I loved seeing the snippets of Jude and Millie in the last book and couldn’t wait to get to their book.
I did like both Millie and Jude and I could tell they really cared for one another, but I felt like things kind of dragged out as the book went on. And I wasn’t crazy about the twist with even though I couldn’t see how Millie and Jude didn’t see that coming. I thought it was so obvious.
Even though this one wasn’t my favorite in the series it was still an enjoyable read and I’m happy that Daire is getting a book next because his book is set up so great- you honestly can’t go wrong with enemies to lovers/marriage of convenience!

ive had my eye on jude since teddy’s book and oh my gosh… he was everything. millie and jude were so cute. i love the brother’s best friend trope and on top of that, roommates?! millie and jude served🥰 i love the reform playboy in jude. he’s so sweet and caring, i loved watching them fall in love with millie bit by bit. and millie was absolutely hilarious! i adore her character so much. i love these two with my whole heart. micalea never misses with any of her books, characters, and love stories🤍
and thank you greys promo and micalea for the ARC🥰 -

"all its taken is a petite brunette with the personality of a firecracker to finally make me question if this is the path i want to stay on"
I've been waiting for my fav bad-boy Jude's book since i read teddy&zara's story (my babies) and this book just gave me all the right feels
Ive been on a streak of torturing myself by reading books that were physically draining and made me cry myself to sleep. so when i got an arc for this i was so⚡️excited and happy⚡️. it literally made me so happy reading this book, jude and millie are amazing as individuals (we met them in previous books) and i just knew they were perfect for each other. 💙
🤍 premise 🤍
We know jude who was into one-night stands and hook ups after a hard breakup in the past. Throughout the previous books we see him losing himself in this process. but when his teammate/ friend's sister comes into the picture (who he has to share a bathroom with) things get quiet interesting. they're both funny and have amazing banter!
🌌 jude&millie 🌌
LET ME TELL YOU THIS MAN IS HEAD OVER HEELS FOR THIS GIRLS!!!! like it physically aches him. not to mention his character development was so important and im glad it was expressed. millie was nice and bubbly but also strong so she could hold her own with someone like jude, and she knew to ask for what she wanted. oh an consent was present in the book! (i know i like books when they have some "taking" but sometimes i just need my books to snuggle my heart) --> ya idk what that analogy is either
its just so cute reading about what they're thinking about each other <3

Tropes:
- college romance
- brother’s best friend
- reformed playboy
- forced proximity (roommates)
- friends to lovers
- secret romance
- love triangle vibes
- she asks the hero to help her with “intimacy”
POV: first person - dual
Type: interconnected stand-alone (book
Moving in with her brother was supposed to be more convenient than living in the school’s dorm. But when Millie has to share a bathroom with the school’s notorious playboy, all her expectations go down the drain. Especially considering her first night after moving in she sees more than she bargained for.
I wasn’t a fan of Jude from the beginning and I can’t really say he grew on me either. There was no chemistry or tension and it was all awkward. It was very juvenile and read very weirdly especially in the first 50% but it could just be me.
I had no idea a love triangle would be introduced so that was fun…not. Obviously we know who she ends up with but I actually liked the other guy a lot and don’t like seeing anyone get hurt so I probably would have avoided this book if I knew. I won’t say who he is bc of spoilers but who he is makes it worse.
Once it hit 50%, it got better. There were plenty of cute moments plus cuddling (my favorite to read). Some parts were still iffy but not overly bothersome.
The “I love you’s” did come out of NOWHERE though. I was not expecting that when they did so I was straight up confused. I LOVE “insta-love” but here it just wasn’t believable considering Jude’s reservations towards “love”.
There are also a few repeated scenes from book 4 (Millie’s brother’s book). They were the exact same just in Millie’s POV which felt boring to read again since I read book four already. It all felt lazy. If you are reading this as a complete stand-alone without prior information from the other books it shouldn’t effect you.
There is quite a few safety warnings that include OW and OM stuff. It was nothing extreme enough to make me want to DNF but I wasn’t a fan of it all to say the least. I’m talking “the hero screws other women and the heroine hears them” (this happens more than once) plus him having sex with other girls to “forget about” Millie. -
I WAS REALLY OUT HERE DANCING IN THE CLUB WITH MILLIE AND ZARA💃 at 1am
Brother’s Bestfriend!!!! ahhh oh my golly gosh…got me from the start and i was hooked!
the banter, the angst SO GOOD! ya know what i cringed and laughed a lot and i love that shit!
Millie is so funny and i knew i’d love her from the last book🤠✌️ jude is such a lads lad…like a fucking asshole! but yolo he’s like ✨different✨ when he’s with her🥰
i will always love that this author has the characters sort themselves out! and literally help themselves😭❤️ literally me crying over this shit😪
nah but yes!
the tension, the reveal scene!! THIS SHIT WAS SO DRAMATIC?! and for what?
and they’re little car moments iykyk😭 omg like live laugh love or whatever
is it super cheesy and do they say they love each other too fast in my opinion, yes! but ya know what? that’s an adult romance for you😎 it’s giving, gone. I’m not a slow burn girly but when it comes to i love you…say it in the last 20% of the book please🤩
anyways, cringy, banter, dramatic THAT’S MY KIND OF BOOK LOVE😍
4/5⭐️ -
jude and millie. JUDE AND MILLIE. that's all. (plus jonah because he's my new little cinnamon roll, and the fact that millie had jude so whipped that jude physically couldn't stomach being a f-boy anymore and fell to his knees before her multiple times...i'll leave it at that :D)

0.5/5
teddy and vanessa's book is the only good book in this series- broken boys and the first one were shit and the second and forth ones were not bad but boring
the 0.5/5 is LITERALLY for the smut
he was a piece of shit - an arsehole
i shipped her more with his brother
he was an annoying dick and the "i love you" literally came out of no where
why do readers have to read about him STILL hooking up with other women in this - wtf
millie hears him have sex with different women - this is a romance wtf is up with that
why was cree so much more of a dick in this - he was cool in his book in this he was a real fucking annoying arsehole
my biggest issue w this book was the kiss between her and zara
if she kissed a boy or if he had kissed someone else after they got togther it would not of been received the same way
when jude said it was the hottest thing he had ever seen i had to puke - wtf so he was just fetishising women kissing - they did it only for show - to "give jude a show"
two women kissing isn't for other peoples entertainment and definitely not to make a straight white man feel hot - fuck off
anyways i'm still gonna read the other guys book - can't remember what his name is but the one w the kid and got married lol
but yeah this book was shit except for the smut lol -
First, I need to confess that I am completely biased as I am obsessed with this series. Every book has been awesome, and I am so glad I stumbled across this author. She has fast become an insta one click and I love that each book sets up the next book so perfectly that I put every book down dying to get my hands on the next one while also wishing I could go back and read this one again for the first time.
So as mentioned by the time I put down Good Guys Don't Lie I was dying to see what happened with Millie and Jude. And find out more about what had made Jude such a broken little toy. Sadly, I have a real thing for the broken, man whore, bad boys and Jude was right up there. Until he wasn't. Once we found out what had caused his pain, I wanted to wrap him up in kisses. And then he went and gave the best boyfriend, and I was besotted. Because holy swoon.
Millie was an awesome heroine. She didn't play games or act coy. Everything about her was just perfect. And I loved watching her learn who she was and what she wanted from life. As a couple these two were so cute and I really loved watching them fall in love and work everything out. But omg I need the next book now.

Micalea Smeltzer has done it again! Broken Boys Can’t Love is the 5th installment in the Boys series. I could not put this book down!! I kept telling myself I’m only reading 50% of the book and then before I knew it… the book was over. Soo soo good!
It follows the relationship of Millie, Judes best friends sister and roommate, and Jude. Millie is a freshman in college and lives with her brothers and his roommates. Jude is a senior in college and is known as a manwhore, playboy around campus. What happens when these two become friends and seek each other for advice?
Jude is everything I wanted, needed and hoped for. He’s the bad boy with a heart of gold. How he treats Millie is so sweet and sincere. But his past gets the best of him.
Millie is this sweet, innocent girl who is constantly being protected by her older brother. She knows what she wants and she is comfortable with herself to ask for it.
There was a lot of angst and foreplay throughout the book. A lot of asking of consent. Which is great but there were times, I was hoping there was some taking. However, the phone scene …holy hell that was hot!
Overall, this is a must read. This is a standalone, but part of interconnected series. I’m sad this book is over!

Trope: college romance, best friends sibling, virgin heroine
**ARC received for an honest review** -
This was a really cute read! Brothers best friend will always be my favorite trope, and the banter between Millie and Jude and their effortless romance left a permanent smile on my face. There's definitely some big feels here, but I still feel like their emotional connection could have been explored a bit more. Or maybe it was the fact that Jude slept around so much at the beginning that turned me off of him. Look, I know they weren't together yet, but it bothers me when a hero sleeps around with other women to get his mind off the h. I know that's a *me* problem, but still, because of that it took me longer to warm up to him. I did love how fast he fell though, and he was so good to Millie, even if he was a complete idiot at times.
This is still a very sweet and sexy college romance that I definitely recommend! I can't wait for Daires book!

Jude and Mille have undeniable chemistry and I love them so much! Millie definitely brings out the light in Jude and it made my heart so happy watching him fall for her!
I love that Millie is such a strong minded FMC. Love to see it! She knows what she wants and doesn't plan to let anyone else decide for her or tell her otherwise.
Jude- "I don't want to hurt you...and I will. I'll fuck this up. It's what I do. This guy, whoever he is, he would be a safe bet."
Millie- "Lucky for you, I like to gamble."
I absolutely loved the fact they were roommates! Phew, AND they shared a bathroom?! Things were bound to get spicy! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for it. I'm so glad Jude took that step and chose to fight for love instead of caring what his best friend would think.
Some of the side characters that were intriguing to me:
Jonah (Such a sweet little cinnamon roll. Give him a HEA!!!) maybe with....
Zara ( that kiss scene with Millie had me ) yessssss I was living for it. haha!
Daire- I don't want to spoil the teasers of Daire that we get in this book, but I am SO excited to read his book next!
Such a great read! 4.5 overall! Only reason I did not give a full 5 stars is because I felt their dumbfounded responses about Jonah to be foolproof. There were so many hints given to the both of them (Swimmer, psych partner, brother took ballet, etc.) to know who the other was referring too before it was figured out. (Best I can word that without spoiling what this is about lol) I think Jude was in denial LOL but definitely want to see Jonah get his HEA eventually. Loved his innocent personality.
Overall great read and would recommend!! -

"She's this light and when I'm with her, I feel like maybe some of that light shines on me and I'm not as bad as I think I am."
— Jude Cartwright, Broken Boys Can't Love by Micalea Smeltzer
No because I thought nothing would top Teddy's book but this one did. This book hit me like a freight train and I found myself falling harder for Jude than I've ever fallen for anyone. I love the reformed player trope because there's always a reason for why they've decided to become a 'manwhore' whether it be a past lover or certain circumstances, nevertheless, it always has to do with the fact that they feel they're not deserving of giving or receiving love. When the time comes where they do fall for someone, it just hits so much harder because it shows character development and how they're finally forgiving and allowing themselves to fall in love. This was the case for Jude and I loved every second of it.
I thought we'd have a love triangle kind of situation but I'm sO glad it wasn't made complicated. Zara and Keaton were truly the MVP's, they were everything I ever wanted in a side character. I'm glad that with Jude's book, he finally gets the closure and happily ever after that he deserves because the boy went through a lot :") Millie and Jude could not be a more perfect couple, they just have immense chemistry and I want what they have. I highly, highly recommend you read this one!
Thank you Valentine PR, Grey's Promotion and the author, Micalea Smeltzer, for providing me with this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review! -
Broken Boys Can’t Love by Micalea Smeltzer is the fifth book in The Boys Series and this is my new favorite in the series. It’s Millie and Jude’s story.
Millie is a freshman at college and she studies psychology. She also loves dancing and especially ballet and likes to do that as a hobby and I loved how much joy it brings her. She lives with her brother and two of his friends in an off-campus house and one of them is Jude who she has a crush on. Millie is an amazing person and I loved how much she grew in this story.
Jude is an athlete and he plays football. He recently went through a tough break-up and it’s affected him ever since and he thinks he’s broken now and not worthy of love. Therefore he tries to overcome that with mindless one-night stands, but it’s obviously not working. When he meets Millie they try to be friends first, but even he starts feeling things.
Millie and Jude are everything together and I loved every second of their story. From just being at their house and watching Vampire Diaries together to them going out. Millie is also inexperienced in intimacy and Jude tries to teach her more about it and it brings them so much closer. The story is sweet at times, sexy at others and just gives all the feels.
Overall, I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars and I’m obsessed with Millie and Jude’s story.

3.5 stars. Broken Boys Can’t Love is the fifth boy in The Boys series by Micalea Smeltzer. This is a contemporary, new adult (college), sports romance series (although the sports is super light in the whole series). And in this one we have brother’s best friend and forced proximity(they become roommates)!
Jude and Millie end up housemates in college, even sharing a bathroom. Jude is her brother Cree’s best friend (the hero of the previous book). Millie has been a ballet dancer her whole life but she doesn’t want to become a ballerina, instead she wants to teach dance or something along those lines. She ends up becoming friends with Jude and even asks his help with intimacy (she’s a virgin) when she’s interested in someone else. This whole series is just fun and low angst, I do wish we got more sports action but I’ve come to just realize that isn’t going to be the case with this series. 😅 This was an easy listen, as I’ve done the audiobooks for most of the series. It did feel like it dragged on for too long though. But the first 2 in the series remain my favs! -
When I first was introduced to Jude in Teddy's book, I was immediately intrigued and hopeful that he would get his own story and when it was announced that he would be getting his own, I was SO excited.
Broken Boys Can't Love is EVERYTHING!!! Jude and Millie are perfection, their story was beautiful and their love is something everyone aspires to have.
I laughed, I cried, I got angry and I fell in love with these characters (especially Jude)
It was so interesting yet heartbreaking to hear his story and why he is the way he is but I couldn't imagine a better match for him than Millie.
I strongly recommend this book if you like college romances filled with spice, wit and plenty of emotions. -

LOVED LOVED LOVED
this was perfect i love jude and millie sm -
Ugh! This book is so freaking good! Hands down one of the best brother's best friend romances that I have ever read! Everything about it is so damn amazing, from the writing style, storytelling, angst, forbidden aspect, and hilarious banter between our MCs. Millie's characterization is flawlessly written, from her sunnies disposition, being bubbly and despite being a virgin she knows what she wants and not shy about it. She's sweet yet not so demure. She's quirky but in the best way!
As for Jude, oh man! The title truly reflects his characterization. He's selfless and has this sense of self-awareness and that made me admire him more. I'm glad that he was able to get the closure that he truly deserves. Jude is not a perfect hero by all means he has demons and trauma from the past. But is more than willing to face it all not only for Millie yet most importantly for himself. Also, this guy "is willing to watch Vampire Diaries, loves dancing in the rain, and more! Ugh, he's swoony despite being broken.
I can talk about this book for the whole day because I can't get enough of these two, I love every second, and Millie is the light to Jude's darkness.
"Thank you, Little Maddison." He murmurs.
"What are you thanking me for?"
"For loving me and all my storms." I stroke his cheek gently. "That's not something you ever have to thank me for." -

millie and jude were literally so cute i was blushing so much reading about them. they fr had so much chemistry it was so adorable. jude was so sweet and nice towards millie, like he fr took her dancing in the rain bfr... they made made my heart so warm whenever they were just talking to each other in bed. i felt myself going into a slump and i can always count on micalea and this series to pull me back out of that slumpy feeling. like i couldn't fr pick up a book for a couple of days and then remembered that this series exists!
they were literally 'all of the girls you've loved before' by taylor swift fr. like the fact that everything happened to jude and macy that left him heartbroken and millie made up for it in the end and showed him that she would never leave him and that he was worth it and vise versa. not going to lie
i low-key loved macy like i didn't hate her or dislike her once throughout the whole book. her and her fiancé were so cute like I really want a book about them. her fiancé was so supportive of her and especially after everything that happened with her and jude. and i love how macy said that you know within the first couple of months who you are going to spend the rest of your life with because i honestly believe that as well. and she left that with her fiancé and she chose the right thing because jude ended up finding millie which is his perfect match.
loved jonah, i love you bae you fr need your own book with millie's bsf like i will read it. i need it asap. they had exploding angst and tension and he is such a sweet guy and she is such an outgoing girly that i feel like they would complete each other so much. I NEED THEIR BOOK PLEASE!
millie is my cats name so i don't know how i felt about reading that name in a book but besides that i really did enjoy the book and it got me out of my mid slump!! -
4.25/5 ⭐️
You guys!! This book was it! I was obsessed with Millie and Jude since we met them in the previous books and they did not disappoint! I love how the brothers best friend and friends to lovers tropes were used in this book! They grow such an amazing bond by becoming friends and when those lines get crosses it forms a very deep romantic relationship. While Jude is trying not to fall for his best friends little sister, the more time he spends with her the harder it gets. And let’s not forget the amazing moments with the other couples in here! And the side characters Jonah and Zara and some of my new favorites!
Im absolutely obsessed with these two and the light hearted relationship they have! Thank you Micalea Smeltzer and Greys Promotion for the ARC in return for an honest review. -
this was a great brothers best friend book, i liked both characters and loved seeing the other boys appear throughout! a nice continuation to the series :)

Trigger Warnings include:
abortion
Reluctantly, I wrap my much larger pinky around hers, echoing the sentiment. “Promise.”
Why do I feel like somehow, I just made a deal with the devil?
I’ve been ready for Jude’s book from the moment we were introduced to him. I knew I needed it. And it was definitely worth waiting for! I don’t know why Cree thought it was a good idea to tell Jude his sister was off limits…while also making them share a bathroom. And then always leaving them home alone together. We were greeted by Jude in all his glory, and I was instantly ready to keep the secret from Cree. Jude has spent plenty of time working his way through campus to ignore his broken heart. But he’s unable to stop thinking about the owner of that pink towel hanging off his door. Millie and Jude both know neither of them should make a move, but it is impossible to ignore the sparks between them. I knew Jude’s story wasn’t going to be all sunshines and rainbows, but I also didn’t expect him to break my heart (while also healing it all at the same time). Spending time with Millie made Jude realize he had become someone he didn’t recognize anymore. And he was self aware enough to know he needed to sort himself out before he took Millie down with him. Jude is an open book with Millie. Jude was sweet and considerate. He made Millie feel appreciated and adored. He also made sure she felt safe. I loved being a part of them falling in love. I loved all the twists and turns. And most importantly, I love getting to spend time with the rest of the gang. Ya’ll know I was waiting for my time with Teddy! This overlaps with Good Guys Don’t Lie, so it definitely makes sense why Cree’s book came before Jude’s! The squeals I let out every time we got visits from the rest of the gang. All the warm fuzzies!

I have officially found my favorite couple of 2022. Jude and Millie are everything. Sure they go through their highs and lows but that's how it's supposed to be. I have been curious about Jude since I first, unofficially, met him a few books back. His story was always a mystery and "seemed" obvious. He was a player who had his heart broken and had a reputation for sleeping around and not caring. But when we get his story it will crack your heart open. After getting his story I can understand why he went the route he went. However I won't spoil that for people. You'll need to read this story to find out. Enter Millie. He never saw her coming. He never thought he was good enough for her (for anyone for that matter). But he fell for her and he fell hard. It was so heart warming to see it happen. I will say that some of the support he got came from the last people I thought would support him. But it was so nice to see, even if it did seem awkward for him at first.
Now lets talk about Millie. I loved that girl. She was so innocent (and yes naïve) but hey we all are at one point in our lives. Hers just made her more brighter, more full of sunshine. Something that Jude gravitated to. She didn't always have it easy and I don't know why teenage girls are so mean. But those girls helped play a role that helped bring Jude and Millie together... I loved their rainy day drives. I loved how she tried to stay away from him.. always claiming to try and go the safe route. But you can't help who your heart gravitates to. Did I feel bad for the other guy? Yes and no. I feel bad about the circumstances but they weren't meant to be and you can tell there is another story brewing there (one that I think would be fun to read).
This story coincides with Good Guys Don't Lie (Cree's story... he's Millie's brother) so you get a few spoilers here and there if you haven't read that story. But it helps show how Millie and Jude were able to fall in love right under Cree's nose. I will say that I loved how Millie kept putting Cree's overprotective ways in place. These two have won my heart over. I may find another couple to love this year but they will always hold a special place that none can take away from. Jude deserved this happily every after. I'm glad that it was Millie's pure heart that one him over. She's definitely a keeper.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.* -
Brother's best friend is such a common trope and still, I cannot have enough of it. And Micalea Smeltzer did a fabulous job of making this college sports romance an unputdownable read. Steamy. Angsty. Swoony. Jude and Millie's story gave me all kinds of sweet, sassy, deep feels. Goosebumps on my skin. Smile on my face
Ache in my heart. And butterflies in my belly all the way! What more you can want from a romance?
Millie Madison is starting her freshman year in Aldridge University and she is now staying with her brother and his best friends in the house bought by her parents. Living in a house full of jocks is never boring. And it is a special kind of torture sometimes because she has a crush on Jude Carwright. Her brother has repeatedly told her that Jude is no good for her. Because he is a man wh0r3. But as she spends more time with him, she realises that Jude has different sides those no one can see. And Jude is falling for her too.
The title of this book is extremely fitting. After his high school sweetheart broke his heart, Jude went through meaningless sex like it can be his Salvation. He has a reputation that is not always true. He is broken and everyone has made him feel that he cannot be good. I feel so sad and a bit angry for him. It seems that his friends and the people in college put a label on him. I expected better from his friends. But he is also very closed off and he put this playboy persona in front of everyone to avoid painful conversations.
And that's where Millie came in. She shows us Jude's charming and swoony sides. She is such an adorable character. Sweet. Witty. Independent. Compassionate and caring without judgment. She is not a party girl or someone flashy. She loves her study and her ballet. And she tries to see the best in everyone. Like Jude. They start an unlikely friendship first. I spent some amazing time with them as they laughed and went on adventures. Their chemistry was sizzling hot but they resisted it. Holy slow burn epicness all the way! They are forbidden. Jude has so many emotional baggages. It had heartbreak written all over it. The author added some beautiful twists and turns and it made the story even more heartbreaking. It was a complete emotional rollercoaster.

ever since i read their first interaction in ophelia and cree’s book i was HOOKED. i just knew their story would be great from their breadcrumbs. if you miss the previous ‘the boys’ MMC’s (from book 1-3), they made appearances on here which i really enjoyed. teddy compared to the other guys, had the longest cameo and i loved it bc i missed his character so much.
since i got a little sidetracked talking about teddy, back to the main characters, millie and jude!! i loved their story. they actually went through a lil love triangle, it wasn’t a huge/major plotline to the story tbh, but it was so hilarious to me. you’ll get why i find funny when you read. on the topic of their lil love triangle it involved millie having to ask jude to teach her the basics of dating etc bc she’s inexperienced and a virgin. and GAWD i love that trope so much bc things end up getting more intimate and changes the status of friends to so much more, which is exactly what happened between them. on top of them serving that, they served reformed player, best friends little sister and roommates/close proximity. and with them being roomies, their rooms are actually connected through their jack and jill bathroom, and that of course came in handy…
i was actually a little scared to read this because after not being a fan of ophelia and cree’s story, i was afraid it’d go downhill from there, but nope! this book was enjoyable and was such a fast read. if you want a dual POV college romance, with the tropes i previously listed above, i’d recommend reading this.
thank you @greyspromo for providing me with this ARC -
4.5🌟
This book literally gets you from the jump. It had me giddy (he said “Good girl” - I WAS GONE. ABSOLUTELY HOOKED) & hot (I mentioned the Praise, right?) & there was an emotional element to it as well. It was a truly well rounded story for me! I was invested from the moment Jude && Millie had their 1st interaction- & let me say it was VERY cheeky… OOF I can’t even express how absolutely GIDDY I got. I was an absolute fool for these two!
Jude- a very typical f-ck boy- a f-ck boy with a past that cuts deep, does not see himself worthy of anything good. Especially anything to do with love.
But that is before he meets Millie. Milie - his roommate. Millie- his best friend's younger sister. YEP, you know where I am going with this. The angst is there, my friends.
Even though there were twists and turns - they were cohesive & made sense to the story.
Jude and Millie were both learning what love means to them & the challenges that come with loving someone, Especially someone who is off limits.”
Overall, this was sweet and steamy. There was a moment where I could not put it down, I was devouring it & had to force myself to put it down!
Absolutely loved both Jude & Millie- also rainy days will now have a different meaning to them. Thank you for that :)
What's next? I CANNOT wait to read what’s in store for Daire & Rosie. I have a feeling this is going to be TENSE… BUT OH SO GOOD! :) -
JUDE & MILLIE! I was so excited to read this book & got even more excited when I got an ARC! I love a brother’s best friend read & this one did not disappoint.
Millie is Cree’s little sister and she’s living with Cree, Jude and Daire in their off campus house. She’s a freshman who is looking to find herself and what she is passionate about. Despite Cree and Jude being best friends, and his reputation on campus, she can’t help but be attracted to the brooding football player.
Jude’s been in a downward spiral. Following a tough breakup, he stays unattached, losing himself in one night stands. When he ends up sharing a bathroom with Millie, he’s instantly drawn to her, loving their banter, but he knows that Millie deserves more than he think he can give her. But, when Millie asks Jude for some spicy tutoring, can he stick with his plan to remain unattached?
I absolutely adored this story! When we were introduced to these characters in Cree and Ophelia’s book, I got so excited to read Millie and Jude’s story. I loved how these two balanced each other out. They both provided each other with what they needed, without even knowing it. Jude gave Millie the space and ability to figure herself out and grow into herself, while Millie gave Jude the confidence to love and to be loved in return.
I cannot wait for the next book! -
Amazing as always!!
All hail the queen of college romance! Micalea Smeltzer has produced another fantastic college romance filled with passionate romance, talented writing and swoon-worthy heroes!
Broken Boys Can't Love is the story of Millie (Cree's sister) and Jude (Cree's best friend and roommate, you see where I'm going with this?). No? Okay, then think; best friends little sister, moves into her brothers college house and is now sharing a bathroom with her brothers best friend. If that's not got you running to amazon to one click then I don't know what will!!
All I can say is this book is another fabulous piece from Micalea and I am so so excited for Daires book, I just know it's going to be the best of the series!!
After a week long book slump, this love story is exactly what I needed! Funny, easy to read, angst filled and hella steamy!!!!
Micalea is one of those authors were I don't need to read the blurb to know that I will love the book. I will read anything she produces and I will love it every time!!
5* romance!!
Tropes:
College
Brothers best friend
Forced proximity
Friends to lovers -
Jude and Millie were the absolute best love story to read. I could not get enough of them. Worth the wait.
Jude knows better than to fall for his friends little sister, but Millie comes storming into his life and flips it upside-down.
Millie is a little ball of sunshine mixed with a hurricane. She is innocent and timid with a heart of gold and everything the Jude isn't. Their chemistry jumped off the pages as their story unfolded.
Jude has a secret from his past that was such an important part of who he is and why he has been behaving out of character for years. Michalea did a beautiful job telling this secret that all to often isn't given a voice from the male perspective.
This has been my favorite couple from the boys series and I am excited to see what happens next. -
hmm it was okay. its clear the writing’s gotten a little better from earlier books but not rlly loving the whole senior dating a freshman thing even if it’s in college.
also there’s such a not feminist vibe with all the alpha males and losing street cred in this series despite the author wanting to write strong headed female leads. sometimes u wanna read that tho and thats fair but it’s so repetitive at this point.
all that said i’ll probs read the next one whenever it comes out lol again, sometimes u just wanna read it.
