I enjoyed reading this Human & Alien romance. Annabeth and Kane were such great characters, they had the intense mating bond and chemistry. The series was not only full of spicy romance, there was a mystery and secrets start getting revealed. I can't wait to read the third book.

This book is the sequel to Beneath the Surface and picks up where Beneath the Surface ends. Annabeth and Kane are working on wedding plans and are figuring out how to fix the mate bond among the people.
I really enjoy Kane and Annabeth’s love story but I did feel like this book was a little drawn out for what was covered. I would have loved to seen more behind the scenes of Kane working with the scientists to fix this mating bond issue and more of the politics behind how they are looking to help the humans and M’nai alike.
I am hoping there will be a third book in this series because I always want to see more happily ever after and I want to see how the Earth progresses with the new laws put in effect.

I recieved an arc copy of this book.I love how this book takes right off where the first one ended. It's a forbidden romance between Annabeth (human) and Kane (alien). THE SPICEY SCENES ARE HOTTTTT! There are wtf scenes like omg R u kidding. 1 part where I was like holy shit did the twisted sister write this. I laugh I cried. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL BOOK 3 COMES OUT.

So I'm not one to read sci-fi romance very often but I really enjoyed TTS. I loved the love (lol) between Kane and Annabeth, it was super sweet. With the effects wearing off, Kane's protectiveness came out tenfold and seeing him do everything he could for Annabeth and the humans was just amazing. There were like multiple twists that the author didn't give away for us to know until it was needed which was enjoyable since most authors don't do that. I am really looking forward to book 3, like now!

I was an ARC reader for Through the Shadows. I had not previously read Beneath the Surface so I read both books back to back. This was my first alien romance but I love dystopian and forbidden love stories so I signed up to arc read it.
I loved the plot and pacing. Annabeth and Kanes love story was woven into the plot and wasn't the entire driving force keeping the story going. This story takes place 10 years after Kanes people overtake Earth and enslave the human race under the false pretense they are protecting humans. Kane and Annabeth meet by chance and fall in love.
Spice level: 3 out of 5, they couldn't keep their hands off each other and it fit the plot well.
This is a great story. I recommend reading Beneath the Surface first or you will not truly enjoy the story.

This is not my typical read, but this author is talented. The characters in the story were so perfect for each other even though it was human/alien. It was spicy, and the elements the author pulled into the story were so good and kept you engaged.

This was such an enjoyable book to read! Alien romance is a first for me, but I love the forbidden love trope, so this series was right up my alley. I love having dual POV in romance books, so I was happy to see that the author incorporated that!
This book picks right up from where Beneath the Surface ended. Annabeth starts planning their wedding while Kane is dealing with the political side of outing what his ancestors had done. While also figuring out what it means for him to be going through the mating process. Kane’s family is trying to write many wrongdoings, but some of the M'Nai aren't satisfied with a human princess to be.
Kane and Annabeth were phenomenal characters, and the trials and tribulations they go through really keep you captive until the last page. I can't wait to read the next book and get answers to some questions left unanswered. -
I read this book because I read the first and I don't like not finishing a series, so here I am again. I'll make this review short. This book was slightly better for me than the 1st. It still didn't grasp me fully and I didn't find myself getting lost in the world and let's be honest, I want to get lost within the story and feel as if I'm there. I just didn't get that from this book. The writing itself was really good, the author is a good storyteller. I think the story just isn't my thing and I don't think I'll be reading the next book. I do hope others pick it up as I'm certain there are readers out there that will love it. -
This is the first Alien human romance I read. I received an arc copy of it. Annabeth and Kane were great characters. I enjoyed their love story I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait for book three

The second book in the series, picks up right where it left off. I really enjoyed the characters & writing style. I’m not the biggest fan of alien romances but this one does it for me. The spice is pretty good, would’ve liked a little more but I’m a spice fanatic.

Annabeth was getting used to her new life with Kane, but there is a lot of hatred being thrown her way from the M’Nai. As they get closer to the wedding there are a few attempts on Annabeth’s life. Kane is not taking the mate suppressant and he has more physical and mental differences. Can they make it to the wedding day? Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended. Amazing book. Love Annabeth and Kane. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last. -
I'm the type of person who will read anything once and let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised at this book! It was great, it was no kissing the Corona virus but hey it stood its own ground. Jk jk but in all seriousness, the spice was top tier and I need to know what's next so chop chop alainna

great sci-if romance
I very much enjoyed the developing relationship between Kane and Annabeth, though it wasn’t as spicy as I normally read. This was a new (to me) take on forbidden romance and the characters and setting were quite well done. Hoping for a 3rd book. -
I am not used to reading much science fiction romance, but I am stepping out of my comfort zone and am so glad I did. Kane and Annabeth's story reminded me of an interracial, forbidden contemporary romance. I didn't read book one, so that was probably my mistake, but overall I liked the storyline and all the characters involved. The trials they had to go through to be together and the laws that had to change to make peace, chefs kiss. And the spice was HOT!!

I loved this book! I’ve never read Alien Romance before and let me tell you I am here for it. I fell head over heels for Kane and Annabeth. Their love, affection and protectiveness over each other was beautiful. I was so invested in this story that I couldn’t stop reading. I love how tough topics are being covered and the way they are handled is lovely. I can’t wait to read the next book.

It’s a great alien romance to dip your toes into the genre. The characters are enjoyable and the plot has political intrigue. Definitely read book 1 so you know what’s going on since this picks up right where book 1 left off. It doesn’t have a lot of spice but the chemistry between the the couple is great. -

*With that being said, I DID not and was a little lost at parts, but that's on me.
This was a good book. It's the story of Kane and Annabeth going through the struggles of being a couple most don't want to see together. And tlwith the M'nal taking over the world and the humans becoming wrokers/objects they do not want Kane marring Annabeth putting her in danger.
This is a book I suggest, but do make sure you read book one first 😍 -
Sci-fi romance is something I dabble in from time to time, but I can't say I'm the biggest fan of it. This one is well written, the characters will crafted, and the storyline was interesting but I just couldn't connect with it.

I liked the characters Annabeth and Kane 😊 This book is first one I read of a alien/human relationship 😊 I really enjoyed reading and can’t wait to read part 3 I hope there is a part three I received this book as an arc and I definitely will be recommending others to read as well 😊
