In June 2012, the United Nations adopted General Assembly Resolution 66/281, which declares 20 March the annual “International Day of Happiness.” The resolution extends an invitation to Governments as well as individuals to celebrate the Day “in an appropriate manner, including through education and public awareness-raising activities.”
This anthology brings together poets from 56 countries, with poems in 31 world languages. The generous self-offering of these poets is a unique celebration of the Day, affirming the beauty and universality of the pursuit of happiness.
