“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” - James 1:12

When young Lou is forced to marry a corrupt suitor for money, she flees out West with God in her heart. Crossing the desert , she ends up in an isolated ranch run by a mysterious rancher and his obnoxious sister. She stays on the ranch, working her fingers to the bone, trying not to fall in love with her savior. How can she guide both their souls toward God’s Light when he is close to darkness?

Impulsive yet reserved, Mark has returned home after the death of his brother. Along with a sister that seems not to like him , he tries to get the ranch back in its previous glory. However, the almost dehydrated bride he finds on his doorstep, makes him believe that God has an ironic sense of humor. How will he learn to open his heart when he has always been a lost ship looking for safe harbor?

Their meeting is the Lord’s plan , and this unexpected game of life makes them fall in love. Will they manage to keep their love safe when Lou’s past threatens to tear them apart?

When Lou finds out the man she is suppose to marry only wants her for her ranch, she appeals to her stepparents, who refuse to listen to her for their own reasons. So she slips out into the night with her family Bible, and flees her home, believing and trusting God to guide her. During a massive storm, Lou shows up at the home of Mark and Sarah, the only surviving siblings in their once happy family. When she recovers she realizes God sent her here. She has the freedom she desires to work outside on a ranch. Mark is bitter towards God. Sarah is bitter towards her brother, and wants Lou gone immediately. Can Lou get these two siblings to see God is not to blame for their troubles and heal the breach separating them? What about Lou's ranch she fled from, which she discovers is really hers? Can Mark and Lou find everlasting love with each other? Read this exciting book to find out. Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion and this is my honest review.

    Intrigue, suspense, romance….

This author continues to amaze me at how she can capture my attention the very first page and hold it the entire book! And the scriptures placed all throughout just make the storyline that much more inspiring! The fear, unforgiveness, resentment, and anger are replaced with the faith and forgiveness only the Father can give. I absolutely recommend this book and this author!

    Wonderful story

Such an exciting adventure and the author puts the Lord's hand in all of it! Love how the characters quote scriptures during times of trouble. Maybe we should all be inspired to memorize more! Great read!

    Predictable

I enjoyed the read, even though the book is predictable. It's a heartwarming story. I liked Lou, but she was too good to be true. Mark was a wimp, but he became strong. I think both characters needed more depth.

    Love This Story

This is one of the few stories I have read of this genre that actually coincided with the title. That in itself made thus a five star book to me.

    God is good!

One of the best books I have ever read. God is good…he was in charge at all times. Lou prayed for his guidance, as we all should…
