Three Powerfully Alluring Vampire Men
And One Queen to Rule Them All

All Mina ever wanted was to escape her father's control. Half human, half vampire, she lived eternally torn between two worlds, never fully experiencing the pleasures of either—until her father chose her as the pawn in his latest political move, gifting her to the darkly powerful and dangerously seductive Malachi Zion.

Malachi is not a vampire to be trifled with. He rules with an iron fist and has a reputation for the darkest of sins. But the longer Mina spends with him, the more she realizes he's not the monster she first thought—and as fear bleeds into lust, then trust, then something more, Malachi opens Mina up to a world she never knew could be hers for the taking: including the love of Malachi's two closest friends and companions.

Now surrounded by all three men, the center of their shockingly seductive world, Mina may finally have the power to face down her father and take back the life—and crown—that by all rights should be hers.

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN.

NOTE: Court of the Vampire Queen combines all three books in the Bloodline Vampires series.

Court of the Vampire Queen by Katee Robert is an exceptionally steamy reverse harem paranormal romance. Mina has desired freedom from her father’s control and mistreatment for years. She’s half human and half vampire and doesn’t fit into either world. At twenty-five, he gives her to Malachi Zion in a political move. Malachi has been starved for blood for years and their first meeting doesn’t go well. Fear, lust, and distrust start their relationship. However, Malachi’s two closest friends, Wolf and Rylan join them soon and she becomes the center of their world. Can they take down her father and get Mina the life and crown she deserves?

All four main characters are dynamic with flaws and strengths that are tested as the story unfolds. As a result, their outlooks and attitudes change and grow, which also affects the relationships between the four.

This is an extremely steamy novel with many detailed hot scenes. However, there is a plot that is woven into the story; especially in the last half of the book. While I would have liked it to be a greater part of the first half, there needed to be time for the three male vampires to get acquainted with and develop relationships with Mina and renew their friendships of old. This appears to have been originally written as three novellas that are combined into this novel. That results in some repetitive information at the beginning of Acts 2 and 3.

Katee Robert isn’t afraid to tackle controversial topics that include, but aren’t limited to, having multiple partners and considering whether or not having or keeping a child was suitable for the situation in which the four main characters found themselves involved. In addition to this, she weaves in themes of desire, attraction, facing one’s enemies, trust, love, choices, control, family relationships and complexities, power, freedom, fear, and much more.

Overall, this story is one of finding love that works for the individuals and fighting for freedom. There are moral questions, friendships, challenges, issues around relationships, and much more. The author delivers a steamy, explicit, and spicy narrative that tackles some deeper themes if one reads it in its entirety.

SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca provided a complimentary physical copy of this novel. This is my honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. The publication date is currently set for September 6, 2022.

Is this the worst book I’ve read this year - very possible. I have this issue of not reading synopsis’s before starting books, cool it’s a vampire book nice 🧛🏻‍♂️Oh cool arrangement, BUT WHATS NOT COOL! Reading about MAGIC SPERM WTF. Or making her cum so hard that she breaks a magic bond - 🫠🫠🫠
OR that she needs to get pregnant to overthrow her evil father, no biggie. BUT WHAT IS A BIGGIE is all the sex and I mean every single page someone is getting dicked down.

I read this on a flight - had no choice I was trapped.

This book has me questioning every life choice,

    DNF at 70ish percent

i mean.... i read a LOT of porn with no plot. but this genuinely had no plot. the entire book is formatted as 1. sex scene 2. the orgasm from the sex scene unlocks some new ~power~ or ~discovery~ 3. repeat

by the end when it tried to make a plot out of all that and now the characters have to go and solve something, i just wasnt invested in any of the characters because there's literally zero scenes to get to know them or even have a single conversation that isn't sexual. which im not complaining about. if you're gonna make your book 90% porn, make it 90% porn. but dont try and throw some plot in at the end with no precursor.

long story short, i'm kinda shocked this is from katee robert because it felt like a whole level lower than her usual writing ability but i also think kathryn moon just has my heart in the fantasy smut category and no one else can compare

I was willing to look past the fact that of the three instalments of this bind up, Acts I and II were basically 85% sex. Barely any plot to be seen or detected. I was willing to accept that. But then, not two chapters into Act III, something that was stated outright in the final chapter of the part before is suddenly.. not a thing. Okay. Tiny bit of double-take side eye. But then a few chapters later, two pages apart, a thing was said and then contradicted. Again. Eye twitch.

Listen, I know this is an ARC, but these stories existed before this bind up. Maybe there was no editing done beforehand but you're telling me no editing was done before this republish? Not great. Also, before anyone yells at me, this bothered me to such an extent I held off on this review until after release and checked out the repackaged version via KU. And those errors are still there. Sigh. So much for my hope it would get caught before release..

But anyway, what's this story about? Vampires, dhampirs, and more, oh my. It's about an unwanted woman, destined to be a pawn or a sacrifice, finding there's more to her than anyone thought. And falling into the laps of not one, not two, but three vampires, and the bond -- mystical and otherwise -- that connects them. That's more or less the be all end all of the plot, though. The rest is just sex sex sex.

While Act III, unlike the two that came before, had more plot.. it wasn't the kind that did much with the story that came before it. There are a lot of bits we never learn about, parts we're apparently just supposed to go along with, and other minor irritants. All the sex aside, it did feel like the early parts had more time given to them, despite the lack of character development of backstory. Whereas the final was just kind of rushed along. Which kind of applies to the whole storyline, really. Everything happens really fast (granted, these are all novella length, so yeah, everything being fast makes sense, I guess) but I also mean timeline-wise. In the sense that no time at all passes. Also, only one of the three men has any real personality. And unfortunately that lack of character applies to our lead, too.

This could've been good. Maybe not great but decent. But overall, errors aside, it just misses the mark. I wish the author would've taken the opportunity to tidy things up while also fleshing everything out a bit before repackaging this. Alas..

But if you're looking for a relentlessly spicy/zesty/insert euphemism for much sex-y time, with a bit of magic and blood and mayhem mixed in, this might be for you. Also if you've had any experience with the author before, I'm sure you know exactly what you're in for.

let’s be real no one cares one bit about the plot this was vampire smut and that’s all that matters.

  • emmy

The interesting thing about this is that it wasn’t just smut with no plot, it was smut with a « plot » that revolves entirely around the smut

  • Inés Molina

    Two words : 𝑽𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒎𝒖𝒕
The whole book was spicy as heck. It started from the first chapter and became a threesome then a foursome. It was quite enjoyable if you don't mind the smut, which i don't lol. I wouldn't have been able to choose between Malachi, Wolf and Rylan. There was so much smut, i can't remember the plot.

** Thanks to NetGalley, Katee Robert, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC. Court of the Vampire Queen will be out September 6th, 2022. **

As other reviewers have said, this book had almost no plot. There was an orgasm in the opening scene and sex was the thread that tied the whole book together. I would say this was 70% smut and 30% plot. Luckily, Katee Robert is DAMN GOOD at writing smut.

Mina is the powerless daughter of a powerful vampire lord. The book opens with her sent as a blood sacrifice to a vampire named Malachi, who she is to serve in whatever way he wants. Predictably, they fall in love, and she also meets two of his close friends. The four of them form a relationship and go about trying to overthrow her father.

This book seems to have originally been three novellas that the author smushed together - in each section of the book she reintroduces the characters and key details. There was also a lot of plot continuity issues in this book. Information was shared to one character and then the character would not know the information several chapters later. Aspects of the character's powers also sometimes changed suddenly without explanation.

If I was rating this book just on the plot, it would probably be a 2 star read, as the plot was predictable, inconsistent, and bare bones. If I was rating this book just on the smut, it would deserve a solid 4 stars. I'm compromising and giving Court of the Vampire Queen a 3 star review. Without the continuity issues and repetition of re-stating key facts needlessly in the same book, it might have been higher. This book had some potential and was an enjoyable read but didn't quite hit the mark.

“My life has been hell since I was old enough to realize my position within the vampire colony my father rules.”

Half human, half vampire, Mina has always lived as a pawn in her father’s political games. Now she has been sent as a gift to the notoriously dangerous vampire Malachi Zion, but what Mina’s father couldn’t have predicted is the trust and love she would build with Malachi and his two closest friends.

    Oh brother…

The opening line of this book is “I don’t want to be here” and SAME GIRL SAME.

This book didn’t pretend to have any kind of plot. That kind of writing only works if the author is an expert at creating and reveling in atmosphere. I’m not saying Katee Robert isn’t capable of this, but she rather destroyed any hope of the gothic mansion setting carrying her plotless novel when she had the main character send a vampire named Wolf with a blonde mohawk to buy plan B.

Something else that maybe could’ve bolstered the frankly lazy character development would’ve been an engaging enemies-to-lovers dynamic. This was yet another fumble as the “enemies” explicitly vocalized their willingness to die for each other in chapter 8.

Y’all thought that the strong magic-wielding woman losing her powers at the end was the worst trope? Try the “woman needs the magical semεn of three possessive men to unlock her powers” trope. Honestly fighting for my life.

Finally, this book underwent seemingly NO editing when it was collected from being three novellas (how it was originally published) to a book. Between parts 1 and 2 and 3 they reintroduce the (one dimensional) characters and (limited) plot, giving us a full on recap of events that took place not in a separate volume, but literally three pages prior. Agony.

You couldn’t pay me to read this again.

Evidence I wasn’t lying about the magical sem*n:

I’m about 63% in and I can’t do it anymore. There’s a warning in the beginning that’s it’s a very spicy book, but there’s a spicy scene EVERY. CHAPTER. Starting from chapter 1. No plot, no chemistry, no vibes, no explanation. I think I hate Mina more than Poppy from FBAA and that’s saying something.

    Thanks anyway, Netgalley!

  • Cassandra

Katee Robert could write literally anything and I would read it at this point. Neon Gods really locked me in and now I think I'll just continue to insta-buy her work because WOW.

Court of the Vampire Queen was a pleasant surprise and H O L Y was it a surprise. THE SPICE IN IT? We really hit the ground running. We have a story beyond the smut as our main characters are trying to free themselves from being victims to Mina's father, all while trying to manage this very passionate connection they share between the four of them.

I've never read a reverse harem before and I'm glad I waited for Katee to be my first. I liked all of our characters and I liked them even better together.

Overall this was just enjoyable and exciting and the drama was on point. I also am obsessed with the cover.

Thank you Edelweiss+ and Sourcebooks for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

I love how every series is interconnected. Getting to read about Azazel from A Deal With A Demon series was great, and I can’t wait to see what happens with Grace.

Overall this was a very enjoyable and smut-filled read, I wish we had seen more backstory and relationship development between the three men and her.

  • SabiReads

Thank you NetGalley, SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and Katee Robert for letting me read “Court of the Vampire Queen” in exchange for an honest review.

I was surprised that this was available as “read now”. I took the opportunity to finally read my first Katee Robert novel.

I haven’t read fantasy in a while so it’s a nice change to dip into something so familiar again.

The cover is stunning. Dark reds and black, light flowers. It’s beautiful.

The book comes with a huge list of trigger warnings, I name only some of them here:
Blood, gore, murder, patricide, pregnancy, discussion about abortion and my favourite: vomiting (I am NOT making fun of this! Just never seen it as a trigger warning. As a practical nurse I am too familiar with bodily fluids, but this one… ugh).

Smut. There is no other word for it. Utter smut. Smuttiest smut.

I assume this is supposed to be a standalone?! I would have liked to have started with a story line. I feel like there has been a story that I missed. I got thrown into the middle of a complex story with no idea what it’s about. A bit like Mina herself. Being part of a different world without belonging to it completely. Having no clue what happened before. I would have liked to know a bit more first about why she has brought into the house, like a backstory.

At 32 % I was so close to giving up. I need a story people! Give me something. I knew there would be smut, which is fine, but I need a story as well, a real story. Mina annoys me, she barely knows the guys and they can literally do anything to her? For reals?

It needs three guys to f*** her and suddenly they break wards and find out that oh she is something else? The power of sex and we know it? I do t buy it, I really don’t buy it.

I guess I can only blame myself for assuming this to be something it’s not. The story had potential, but I can’t take the constant smut. I am not prude, I enjoy it, but it has to be more than that. So sorry, can’t rate it higher than I did.

  • Kendal Jester

The book was like 90% sex and most of the sex scenes were trash sooooooo

  • Kat valentine ( Katsbookcornerreads)

Court of the Vampire Queen was fabulous!!!!! I don't read a lot of reverse harems because after a while all the fucking and sucking with barely any storyline gets on my nerves but this one was full of emotional depth and a true oneness for all involved. Mina has been sent to Malachi Zion basically as a sacrifice to be feed on and impregnated so her father Cornelius one of the most powerful vampires can gain more power but what happens will change not only her life but her three lovers life's as well. Because while Cornelius saw her as a nothing half breed vampire with no magic she will become more powerful and more dangerous then him.
I loved this book so much!!!! The characters were so amazing! Mina might have come to Malachi as a sacrifice but her strength and courage and scrappy attitude was magnificent!! I love how Katee Robert wrote a woman who had basically been treated like shit for years and made her still strong enough to take on not only one vamp but three of the most powerful bloodline vamps! That took lady balls!!!! Each of her vamps were quite different. First theirs Malachi who is my personal favorite! The way he handled Mina from the beginning was awesome. I think he fell in love with her from the beginning. Then their is Wolf and like the name he is wild and a little unhinged at times but even he falls for Mina. Last is the cold and aloof Rylan and because of his past with Malachi see's Mina as a unwanted part of their coupling but in time he can't even fight the pull of her drawl. With three very powerful vamps each having a power to command Fire,Blood and Shape shifting its no wonder our little dhampir has a big surprise for daddy dearest, because once he finds out what his " unless halfbreed" has become and see's her coming it will be late for him! This is vampire erotica at its best! Yes theirs blood and lots, lots of sex but it is a MMMF read. In closing I want to say their was another character who has my attention as well Azazel !!! He is a demon who makes deals and he is so intriguing!!! I love his shadows and his whole vibe its so bad ass! He's a total prick but he did help Mina. I can't wait to hear more about him!!! I love a sexy bad boy so much!! Until next time Luv's💕💋

    I’m gonna be honest.

I need plot and in this it’s like 5% plot and that’s not enough in my opinion.

I didn’t vibe with it tbh - it just wasn’t for me. I didn’t connect with the characters and I didn’t feel like there was enough plot for me to even try to connect with them.

I like smut, and I love multiple partners. But damn, I just needed more than smut.

    So, yeah.

The best part of this book was the lovely ladies I have been buddy reading it with. Seeing their reactions makes it worth it.

Well our Lord and Savior Katee Robert wasting literally no time giving us hot vampire boning which is exactly why I was here.

Malachi is super hot, no surprise there. The smeggs is honestly some of the absolute best I've read and it's almost entirely group scenes.

However if Mina said “my men” one more time… for some reason I found this so obnoxious. Also, and this is totally subjective, I could really have done without a pregnancy.

But again…I’m here cause it’s horny

Pro tip: The audio is fantastic.

look, im all for a smuttttyyyyyy vampire book... but Katee Robert tried to add in a plot that was absolutely RIDICULOUS.

NFJEHDSNKF BE SO SERIOUS. and i hatedddd the emphasis on her being a virgin/virginity in general. ew. no thanks. 😭

  • Sasha

I was going to 3 star this but the story is not worth a 3 star. 2 ⭐️⭐️. I was really excited for this one because it was huge on booktok for awhile. The book had an interesting premise and could have really focused on the bloodlines and powers of the vampires, but really this was just a smut book. Don’t get me wrong the sex scenes are a 5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ on the spice scale but even with a smutty book I want a GOOD story. This didn’t deliver and there were many spelling mistakes I had pointed out too, which yes a few happen but I found 6, plus two grammatical errors. Rather disappointing and I think this book will be going to my donate pile. I won’t read it again.

    3.5/5 ⭐️
    5/5 🌶

this book was honestly just straight vampire, RH smut and i was absolutely here for it. i was obsessed with the first like 70% of this book and then i sort of lost some of my interest. i hate pregnancy tropes and i knew that trope was included in this book, but i figured i could just tough it out. needless to say, as soon as mina got pregnant, i lost a lot of interest in the book. the part 3 of the book was lacking in smut and pushed too much plot compared to the rest of the book, that i just didn’t love it as much. if i were to rank each of the parts of the book separately, part 1 and 2 would be 5/5 stars and part 3 would probably be like 2.5/5 stars. the vampire smut was perfection and i really did love the characters and basically everything about this book, except for the last 30%.

“the strange buoyancy in my chest gets stronger. god, is this love?”

  • Bookgrrl

Let’s cut to the chase, shall we? This is vampire smut. You know it, I know it, Katee knows it. And it is great smutty smutty smut! Is there a plot? Yes, there is, and it’s good. But the sexy times are what we’re all here for, and Katee does it so well! For being over 400 pages it’s a quick read and I was thoroughly entertained!

FYI this was previously published as three novellas—Sacrifice, Heir, and Queen.

Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

I'm going to keep this short because this book didn't almost 500 pages just for smut, but moving on.
