Just for clarity: many people seem to give 5* for anything that they like. I don’t and only give 5 for the very finest works of literature.
This debut novella is highly imaginative, has some real laugh out loud moments and is required reading for (especially) anyone who was young in the 80s.
A disparate group of people are heading off to Spain and the separate strands of plot and characters are very well drawn and credible. I really wanted to know what happened to them.
It has a very slightly hesitant opening but quickly gets into its stride. I really enjoyed it. -

It’s not for the faint of heart, but it takes the reader through a range of emotions and made me laugh out loud.
