A Bride to Save the Rancher is the first book in Indiana Wake’s The Orphaned Mail-Order Brides series. In it, readers are introduced to two dynamic lead characters—Miriam Wiggins and Lincoln Mathews. She is one of two orphans sold to men in the west as mail-order brides. Mirriam Wiggins and her best friend, Lucy Trott, arrived in Fairplay to be mail-order brides. Mirriam meets Lincoln Mathews, a reclusive rancher. She goes through an adjustment period which is made more difficult by Lincoln’s nonconversational style. Mirriam puts herself in several dangerous situations causing anxiety for Lincoln, however, it is through these harrowing experiences that she and Lincoln begin to talk, get to know each other, and fall in love.

Ms. Wake does a remarkable job with literary devices such as dialog, point of view and descriptive language. Her dialog is solid. Their internal dialog allows her readers a glimpse into Lucy and Alec’s true struggles. The dual point of view further endears readers to these two. The lead characters are mutli-dimensional and likeable. The descriptive language makes the scenes vivid. The scenes wherein Lucy is threatened by the Wyatt Johnstone were realistic. Together these literary devices move this plot along and a smooth pace. This is a charming Christian romance.

    Lucy and Alec 💞

Loved this story! Only wish that Lucy would have told those who cared for her what all the bad men in town were doing to her. Alec took awhile to open his eyes to how much Lucy cared and then loved him.

Let me just say I’m so glad our pastor is nothing like Frank! I really liked him at first, but his true colors came out when Lucy and Alec started their friendship. What a hypocrite Frank was.

    Great epilogue ❤️💐

Enjoyed this second book in the latest series by this author. It's supposed to be a second chance romance series but it's really the first romance for both of these characters.
