Miss Emmaline and the Archangel (Conard County, #3) Reviews

This was again a fairly typical oldie but sometimes the tried and tested isn't bad, and I guess this series does have a pattern. Our heroine is the only Conard left in town and is the town librarian. There are rumors that she fell for some travelling man years ago and that is why she doesn't date, but the reality is very different. Ten years ago when the heroine was in college, she was attacked and left for dead. The attack left her barren, and scared and terrified of several fears she can't explain (she never remembered who attacked her). Our hero is scarred, physically scarred from what we can see and emotionally too. He is an unknown quantity in town and we slowly learn about his pain, he is an ex-DEA agent who lost his kids and wife in a car bomb that left him crippled. When the heroine starts receiving threats the hero is at hand to protect her and they gradually start suspecting it ties back to the attack on the heroine. Even the whole underlying mystery in the past few books about the butchered cattle gets solved. All in all a nice read.

Wow!

I loved this book. Two souls who really needed each other.

I adored this series by Rachel Lee. I lost the books when I sent out a book box, but I've been re-acquiring them over the years.

Predictable. The stalker was creepy. The ritual thing was never explained. It was an ok story, at least it solved the mystery of the cattle killings that was not solved in the previous book. Although the why was never explained, just the who.

Rachel Lee is a wonderful romance/small town life/suspense writer! I was hooked on her Conard County books from the first Exiles End.. More people need to discover these stories. They will fall in love with this series as I have! Miss Emmaline and The Archangel was one of my favorites...
