The Montana Doctor continues the Grand, Montana series with two people reuniting in an unexpected place only to find that the sparks that made their one-night fling so unforgettable are ready to re-ignite in spite of the hesitation of them both.

Hannah has stepped away from her past, and taken a huge risk by moving to Grand, Montana to open her dream brewery. It’s fair to say that she often thinks of her one night with Dallas, even if she is embarrassed to admit that it all began as revenge sex after discovering her long-time boyfriend had cheated on her. She also never, ever expected to run into him in this small, out-of-the-way town. She had made a pledge to herself to avoid all men, no exceptions to that rule. She’s never going to risk her heart again. Yet, this caring doctor is going to slowly work his way back into her life by bringing her deeper into the community and talking her into helping a depressed patient at the nursing home where Dallas tends the patients. Dallas’s charm and sincerity were working – right up until her past found her and reared its ugly head once again.

Dallas, along with his friends, Ryan and Dan have inherited the Endeavour Ranch which is huge, profitable, and came with a ton of money… and a few strings attached. Dallas’ part of the ranch meant opening up a clinic – which he took on wholeheartedly. It gave him purpose, and a chance to stop thinking about the woman who got away… really, just disappeared after one amazing night together. He’s heard a few rumors that make him believe Hannah Brand is here in town, having just opened up her pub/brewery. Nothing’s going to stop him from trying to convince Hannah that he’s a safe bet and that they belong together. Not even when her past shows up in town determined to make trouble for the woman Dallas loves.

I loved being back in Grand, Montana, and watching Dallas lose his melancholy stance and begin to work out how to get the woman he’s so attracted to give him the time of day… let alone agree to share his life. The Montana Doctor is a sexy, fun, believable second chance for Hannah and Dallas to prove that love, real love, makes a difference in any relationship. Their story is full of emotions from anger to light-hearted laughter… and possibilities. Hannah is scared to risk her emotions again, Dallas doesn’t really believe he deserves happiness but they will have to put aside those fears if they are to make a complex relationship work. I loved the epilogue, that was definitely a feel-good ending to this story. I love the connections, too. Yes, Hannah Brand is connected to The Montana Brands – love the small world feel to these books.

In all, I had fun here, got a few more hints as to who the mysterious benefactor might be, caught up with Dan and Jazz, and I’m looking forward to Ryan’s story next. If you love a good, solid romance with two people who question themselves while falling in love then The Montana Doctor is perfect for you.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed in this review are my own – good, bad, or indifferent. I was not financially compensated for this review and no expectation of a positive review was promised.*

I enjoyed Hannah and Dallas’ story in The Montana Doctor by Paula Altenburg, book two in the Grand, Montana series, a sweet romance about self-awareness, and finding love. Dallas Tucker, a country doctor, volunteers for good causes and has a big heart. He is single and though some might consider him a playboy, he really is not. He still thinks of Hannah Brand, the woman he met at her sister’s wedding, had a one-night stand, but she was not ready for a new relationship. Several months later Hannah moves to Grand, needing to get away from her unfaithful boyfriend of fifteen years, and opens a brewery; never expecting to run into Dallas again. Their second meet cute was less than ideal but being a small town they were bound to run into each other. Dallas, still interested in Hannah, needs to figure out a way to convince her he’s the right one for her. Dallas and Hannah have a strong chemistry, creating sizzling sparks when they are together. As their friendship grows , becoming more, Hannah’s old doubts of insecurity and lack of self-confidence resurface; especially when her past comes back into her life. Dallas is going to have to figure out how to convince Hannah she is stronger than she thinks.

Ms. Altenburg wrote a wonderful story that should definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, clever banter, and endearing characters giving Hannah and Dallas a chance at love and a happy future together. I highly recommend The Montana Doctor to other readers.

    Hot and Funny Romance Journey

Hannah and Dallas were awesome mains, each strong, yet compassionate. The storyline was superb with emotions, heat, humor, and wit.
The epilog had me cracking up and I need to read more from this new to me author!
    A stand-alone with a very HEA, but also 2nd in a series.

I received this arc of The Montana Doctor from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in Paula Altenburg’s series Grand, Montana. This book features Dallas, the second of the three friends who inherited the massive Endeavor Ranch and all the monetary benefits. Dallas is a doctor who moved to Grand to open up a free medical clinic as is stipulated by the rules of the inheritance. He also works at the hospital and volunteers at the nursing home.

Previously he had met an interesting woman at his friend’s wedding. They stood up together and ended up having a one night stand. Hannah Brand had just learned before the wedding that her boyfriend/ high school sweetheart had had an affair or two. She was devastated and used the encounter with Dallas as revenge sex and a way to feel more positive about her own attributes. He was interested in her but learned that she had been in a long term relationship that had recently ended badly. As a result, he didn’t follow up on contacting her.

Several months later Dallas learns that Hannah has a brewery in Grand. His ranch is having an event and her brewery was hired to furnish the beer. She is dropping it off and sees Dallas. He is in the garage with another woman but indicated that he isn’t interested in her. Hannah is only focusing on her brewery and not wanting to get involved with another guy at this time. Dallas visits the brewery to enjoy a beer and also to talk with Hannah. He is very interested in her and is looking for a way to pursue her. He is well liked by the people at his work, the nursing home and the townspeople. He has a few residents at the nursing home that he has grown fond of. Dallas asks Hannah to visit an elderly gentleman who has lost the will to live. He hopes her visit will help turn him back to the happy guy he was. Hannah becomes fond of the man also and the two of them visit him together. Dallas also lets her know of his interest in her. They begin to hang out and spend time together. There is some angst and twists in the book.

The book is really wonderful to read. I’m enjoying this series so much. All the characters are very likable, I enjoy seeing the characters we met in book one show up in this book too. The slow building romance between Dallas and Hannah is well written and very entertaining. There are also a few sad moments but Paula has delivered another great story with a happy ending. This is a five star read.

This was a good story and I enjoyed it. That said, I haven't yet read the first book in this series. And while they are stated to be standalone romances, I think I would have enjoyed this novel even more had I read the previous. I had questions that might have been explained in book one. I will definitely read that soon before book three becomes available.

Hannah and Dallas were a good couple. I liked the development and pace of their relationship. I'm especially happy that Dallas kept up in his pursuit of Hannah when she wasn't interested in a relationship, being that her last one broke her heart. Hannah was understandably guarded. The storyline itself was fun and interesting. Both protagonists were mature, independent, loyal and generally likable. The epilogue was adorable and I was sad when I turned that last page.

I definitely recommend this romance. While I received an advanced reading copy of The Montana Doctor, this is my honest and unbiased review and I than you for taking the time to read it. :)

A nice sweet story of a doctor who inherits more money than he ever dreamed of and now has all of the women in the valley chasing after him, except for one. And this makes for a fun easy to read romance.

Loved this book. Author Paula Altenburg has fast become a favourite author of mine, with her wonderful stories of great drama, humour & sexy heroes & heroines. This story was sweet & sexy as Dallas, Dr. Dancy Pants, falls hard for Hannah at first sight, but she’s not available. We get to watch the semi slow romance as Dallas woes Hannah, when they end up living in the same small town & slowly works his way into her heart. We see the slow shift of the relationship & the return of Hannah’s ex to cause trouble. We see the compassion & care they both have for a man ready to die & the other wonderful residents of a nursing home & how they bring the best out in each other. Wonderfully written. Definitely recommend. Thank you to Tule publishing & author Paula Altenburg for letting me read this story for an honest review.

This is Dallas's story. He is one of the three men who inherited the huge Endeavor Ranch. His part of the deal is he has to open a free clinic in Grand. Hannah owns and runs a brewery in Grand. She is surprised to see her one night stand from a while back in town. Her first impression of seeing him again in not one of wanting to see him. After her broken off engagement with her cheating ex and her hot one night stand with Dallas (revenge sex) she has sworn off men. He want to date Hannah but needs a way into her life. When he asks her to visit a depressed gentleman in the nursing home they start to see each other differently. They end up spending time together visiting the nursing home and hanging our afterward. Just as Hannah seems to over come her self doubt her past comes back. Can she let go of the hurt and give Dallas a chance? Good Read.

Awesome book I am looking forward to the next in the series.

If you enjoyed the McGregor Brothers series, the Montana Doctor is the 5th book set in Grand, Montana. Dallas Tucker and Hannah Brand (yes, one of the Brands of Montana) have a rocky road to love. Dallas might be a wee bit desperate to get her attention.

    Here's an excerpt:

Dallas caught the logo in the shape of a chess piece on the elderly half-ton truck churning out pollution next to Hannah. Grand Master Brewery. Clever. He’d heard it was a great place to hang out and play board games. He’d also heard about its hot owner, although no name had been mentioned. He was going to go out on a limb and assume it was her. She fit the description.

“That’s right,” he said, inserting himself in the conversation like some eager kid who had the hots for a pretty young teacher. “Ryan mentioned something about buying local craft beer for the weekend.” Not once had he brought up Hannah’s name, however. “You should stick around. There’s going to be a sheep rodeo for the kids pretty soon. It should be entertaining.”

That wasn’t exactly what his professional opinion had been when he’d first heard about the rodeo, because head injuries—hello—but at least Dan had sworn he’d make the kids wear helmets, and now Dallas was grasping at straws. He didn’t want this chance to finally get to talk to Hannah slipping away.

Dallas Tucker is a wonderful doctor, a great overall person with a heart of gold, not to mention he's become seriously rich! When Dallas meets Hannah Brand at his friends wedding he couldn't resist her. One night together wasn't enough for Dallas but they had no contact after that night until he lives on the ranch and becomes a doctor in Grand, Montana. He goes to the local brewery which he finds Hannah owns and his feelings come back. I found this to be an incredibly sweet romantic story with wonderful characters. I can't wait for book 3!

  • Paula Pugh

The second in the Grand Montana Romance series covers the story of Dallas, doctor and part owner of the Endeavor Ranch. It is a tale of wishes and desires for Dallas who yearns for a real relationship with Hanna. They met at a wedding, had a night of loving. He cannot forget her. Hannah has avoided Dallas but chance brings them together. It is a captivating story.

A great addition to the Grand, Montana series, The Montana Doctor by Paula Altenburg. A story of small town doctor and co-owner of the Endeavour Ranch Dr. Dallas Tucker and Brewmaster/bar owner Hannah Brand. Possible second change romance and gossip. Looking forward to the next book in series.

  • Delacey

I liked this story better than the book 1. The pacing seemed a bit better, and I liked both these characters. It could how ever used a little bit more to the epilogue as the issue with the ex is just assumed to be resolved. Overall, an enjoyable story. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

No spoilers, but, oh, the epilogue! Yes! I laughed so much and I almost cried happy-sad tears, but I held it together. I loved the life of Dallas!

I love Paula Altenburg’s books and The Montana Doctor grabbed my attention from the first page. Set on and around the Endeavour Ranch near the fictitious town of Grand, Montana, this story is second in the series but also works well as a standalone. Packed with emotion and tongue in cheek humour, The Montana Doctor is a sexy, light and easy to read story that has all the feels.
