He needs a sous chef. She needs a job. Together, will they stir up passion or deliver disaster?

Gabby Mason isn’t looking for romance when she finds the Recipe for Love cookbook. She needs a job. Fired by her father and blacklisted by area restaurants, Luxe is her last hope. But will sexy, executive chef Flynn McHale give her a chance, or will he be like everyone else in the industry and turn his back on her? With rent to pay and a cat to feed, Gabby is out of time, out of luck, and out of options.

Flynn McHale is down one chef, but so far, no one can cut the mustard when it comes to the skills he requires. When Gabby Mason applies, Flynn knows she’s the ideal candidate, except for one big problem—her family. Can Flynn find a way to trust the daughter of the man who tried to ruin him? Or will he make her pay for the sins of her father?

The more time they spend together, the more he realizes she’s not the girl he remembered, but the woman he craves—if only he can let go of the past.

Do they have the ingredients to stir up true love, or will this be a case of too many cooks in the kitchen?

A Dash of Desire (A Recipe for Love Novel Book 3) Reviews

I love this series and the idea of a cookbook helping a couple find love. I felt so bad that Gabby’s father had treated Flynn so bad when he worked at the Mason’s restaurant. Of course this did not leave a good taste in his mouth for any of the Masons. Then when I think Gabby’s father can’t get any worse, he not only fires his daughter Gabby because she won’t cheat at a contest, but blackballs her. How can a father be so cruel? Luckily Flynn works for a restaurant at the Luxe hotel and needs a sous chef. I can’t imagine what he thinks when he sees Gabby’s resume for the job. The two sure have a lot of misconceptions to overcome! I loved how the two went back and forth with each other. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Need brings potential enemies together in this delightful romance where food feeds the attraction between Gabby and Flynn. Determined not to buckle under the pressure of her father's outrageous demands, Gabby applies for and gets the job as sous chef in Flynn's kitchen, but only because Flynn has no other option. Gabby can't blame Flynn for his animosity towards her family, but then she is nothing like her father and works hard to win Flynn's approval at the cutting board if not in her personal life. However, the old camaraderie that they experienced whilst working for Gabby's father quickly emerges and they find themselves working in sync once more. Just when the sparks begin to fly, Gabby's father once more does his manipulative best to destroy their success and sow doubt into Flynn's mind. Fortunately, The Recipe for Love Cookbook unbeknownst to Gabby comes to her aid and the story comes to a delightful conclusion. I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining and witty romance. Although distrustful, Flynn makes a wonderful hero and is not selfish in his praise of Gabby nor unwilling to give her the credit when it is due. Gabby is stronger than her father realises and despite his mean streak, Gabby nevertheless emerges stronger, wiser, and more determined to succeed. I received a copy of this well-written novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Love this recipe book! This is about Flynn and Gabby. Gabby is trying to make it on her own and away from her father and if she doesn’t find a job as soon as possible she will be living in a cardboard box because she would never go back to the family. Her dad is a piece of work, he goes so far as to have her blacklisted so that no other restaurant would hire her. She is now going to have to work at a coffee shop if she doesn’t’ find something soon. Flynn is the chef now looking for a sous chef and her application is there in the bunch of not so good applicants, meaning she is the best there is, but knowing that she is a Mason and he hates her father for the betrayal he did to him, he doesn’t know if he can trust her but brings her in for an interview. As much as everyone tells him to remember that she is not her father, he still fails in trusting her. Once he realizes that she is not her it may be too late as she is quitting the business, can he win her back and what does she put him through in order to do so? Oh, and then there is Rita – LOVE HER and Cosmo, the cat. I couldn’t get enough of them two. Love this book and I can’t wait to see who else gets this book to try out another recipe.

Gabriella Mason (“Gabby”) was fired from her father’s restaurant when she refused to do something dishonest at his request. He wasn’t satisfied with just firing her, but made sure she could not get a similar chef job anywhere else. She desperately needs an income and is even willing to work for Chef Flynn McHale as a sous chef for Luxe Resort’s restaurant. Her father had also had bad dealings with Flynn, but hopefully he would put the past aside and give her a chance on her own merits. Lucky for her, no other applicant could meet Flynn’s exacting requirements until Gabby came along.

Gabby and Flynn are drawn to each other, but he is her boss and this job is important to her. The two of them have an uneasy truce as they banter and argue along the way. Can he trust her? Can they work together as a team? And is there more waiting for them ahead?

I really enjoyed this story and the characters who were well-portrayed. I was glad to see that Flynn was honorable and did not hold his conflict with Gabby’s father against her but gave her a fair chance to excel. Gabby was much stronger than her father had judged her to be, and it was exciting to see her prove herself. Grab your copy and enjoy her story!

I loved this book! I so admire Ms Collins ability to write such heartfelt romances mixing it with life’s little lessons about prejudice and pride this time. I love how she weaves those lessons into her romances. I absolutely loved the banter and innuendos between the couple, she, a chef in need of a job, he in need of a great sous chef. Together they can cook up a storm of passion!

I adored this book and I adore this series! All of these books deal with couples who find love (whether they are looking or not) after one of them bakes a dessert from a special cookbook. After they bake their one dessert and find love, they are supposed to pass the cookbook along to a needy person.

This is the story of Gabby & Flynn. Flynn is the head chef at Luxe and he is looking for a sous chef after his quit suddenly. Out of all the viable candidates, only one truly stand out - Gabby Mason. But he has reservations about Gabby - she is restaurant royalty in Aspen and her father single handedly destroyed Flynn’s career and having him blackballed. Flynn isn’t sure he can trust Gabby or did her father send her simply as a spy?

Gabby was fired from her father’s restaurant for refusing to steal the competition’s secrete ingredient during a cooking competition. The other team won and Gabby’s dad blamed her since she didn’t steal their precious mushrooms. After she was blackballed by her father, Flynn is the only chef that would hire her. But they work beautifully together - so much so that Gabby’s father gets extremely nervous and tries to get Gabby to come back working for him again.

Can Gabby & Flynn find the happily ever after they deserve?

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

When Gabby's father fires her and gets her blacklisted from working at any restaurant she turns to the one person she hope would hire her Flynn. Flynn had been done wrong by Gabby's father so he wasn't sure that he cold trust Gabby. However he was desperate so he hired her but put her through her paces when she was at work. Gabby was hoping that she was finally getting through to Flynn when they went to the competition against her father together. However his mistrust shows up again and she doesn't know how much more she can take. When things get heated between them it looks like they are on their way to something good until her father shows up and messes everything up for her again. Will Flynn ever see that Gabby is nothing like her father? Can Gabby give Flynn another chance?

This is a great story that once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

    Evil Dad and Phoenix Daughter

Boy, did this author create an evil character in the heroine’s father! As an owner of a restaurant empire, he's ruthless, willing to eat his own pups—as the heroine stated at one point—and causing problems for anyone else who gets in his way. The hero of the book is one such man; he had his own restaurant dreams and ideas stolen by the man years ago. So he doesn't quite know what to think when the man's chef daughter comes to him for a job. Sparks certainly do fly between them of a variety of types. He doesn't know if he can trust her, but he doesn't know her full story. He needs her skills, though, at the moment. I thought the hero and heroine were excellent characters, and I enjoyed their banter and watching them come to better understand and appreciate each other. There was some random, casual profanity, which I'm not a fan of in any fiction. But, all in all, I found this to be an enjoyable contemporary romance.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Oof! There’s a lot of big dramatic emotions in this one. I found it so easy to connect with Gabby. She’s gone from being on top of the world to scrambling to make ends meet. And it’s all because the person she thought she could trust to look out for her betrayed her in the worst possible way. Her father was a character I loved hating – he deserved every minute of it. Flynn was all too human. When his good characteristics shone, he was my favorite person in the book. But when tripped and stumbled, I could have happily lumped him in with Gabby’s father. At its heart, I thought this was a story about what it took to be a good, quality human being. My fingers are tightly crossed hoping that this series will continue for a long time to come.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

    4.5 stars.

This is the 3rd book in the series and it's Flynn's story, after reading book 2 I wasn't sure that I liked Flynn so this book pleasantly surprised me, it changed my mind about him. Flynn was sexy, loyal, kind, caring, romantic, honest and funny. Yes he's wasn't perfect, there are many times he shows this in neon lights, but he was perfect for Gabby, as she was perfect for him. Gabby had been through a lot but held on to her dignity, values and had the strength to stick up for herself. I loved how she proved herself with her actions time and again. Their connection and chemistry shone on the pages and their journey was a bit funny, a bit sad and lovely to read. I can't wait to see what's next in this series....who gets the book next and will we find out any more about Adelaide?

This was a fun read about Flynn and Gabby. Flynn had his dream of owning his own restaurant in a particular location ruined by Gabby's father. Gabby herself then falls foul of her father when she refuses to sabotage a competitor so her father can win a prestigious competition. She is made unemployable by her father and is now desperate when she succeeds in getting a job with Flynn. The story then covers the development of their relationship both personal and professional as they try to manage the lasting effects of Gabby's fathers behaviour. Lots of humor, food, great characters, a grumpy cat, a book of recipes for love, romance and food critics!

Gabby Mason lost her job at her father's restaurant and can't get any jobs at restaurants in the area. When an opportunity to work as a sous chef arises at Luxe, she soon applies. And what a surprise when she goes to the interview and meets Flynn McHale.
Flynn worked for Gabby's father, but he had big problems with him and ends up having trust issues with Gabby too.
The two work together and the harmony is perfect, both in the kitchen and with the feelings that arise, but Flynn will still have to put aside the distrust of the name Mason in order to succeed in his restaurant. Meanwhile, Gabby tests one of the recipes she found in the Recipe for Love cookbook and is a huge hit.
I loved the story and being able to see the characters from the previous books. I highly recommend the reading.

    Another winner by Kelly Collins!

This is the third book in this series, and centers on Gabby and Flynn. Gabby is the daughter of a horrible father, who sacrifices nothing and takes everything from his daughters to achieve his greatness. Gabby and Flynn used to work for Michael, but both were fired. Now Flynn is head chef at a high-end restaurant, and Gabby accepts a job offer to work with him as sous-chef.

It takes a bit for them to trust each other, Gabby’s father and his treachery are legendary. I don’t write spoilers, but I urge you to read this book and enjoy the chemistry between these chefs and the partnership they create.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

What a sweet romance story in a kitchen setting. This is the 3rd in a series - I haven't read the first two and it was easy to follow along, can be a standalone read.

The thread in this series is a magical cookbook that has recipes for romance. Gabby is looking for a new sous chef job after being fired from the family restaurant by her father. At the Luxe, Flynn is looking for a new sous chef that can keep up with him and his demands. He hires Gabby, despite or in spite of her father - who wrecked Flynn's chances for his own restaurant. Add in the love cookbook and things are bound to get stirred up!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for a temporary digital ARC in return for my review.

A wonderful story of trust and love that will warm your heart. The "Recipes For Love Cookbook" strikes again as this series grows with his 3rd book. Can someone see past your family to see the real person you are? He has been burnt my a Mason before but when desperation comes knocking can he take the step to let another Mason back into his world. Chef Flynn McHale will have to make that decision as to what is best for the restaurant, a purely business decision not a personal one.

Gabby Mason is only one sept away from being homeless and all her hopes are on a former employee of her father's. One he took advantage of just as he did to her.

I have really been enjoying the Recipe for Love series and A Dash of Desire was so much fun! I adored Gabby! She had finally had enough of her father's overbearing ways and even though this decision has cost her financially she is woman enough to stand her ground! Flynn is quite the gruff character but working with Gabby is just what he needs to move forward with his life and his career. This book was really enjoyable. Funny, spicy and with just the right amount of angst to keep it interesting. As with the rest of the books from the series it was told from dual POV and I can't wait to see who gets the recipe book next!

  • Donna

Flynn and Gabby heat up the page whenever they are together! They are both stubborn, independent, perfectionists who push each other's buttons without even trying. I loved their banter--especially when they were fighting. Since Gabby is a chef, she didn't have any trouble perfecting her "Love Recipe" of Tempt Me Tiramisu. A Dash of Desire is another excellent romance by the talented Kelly Collins. If you enjoy an engaging plot with well-developed likable characters, I urge you to read this book. You won't be disappointed.

A wonderfully written story with chemistry and spice, and not just those found in recipes. Gabby, estranged from her family because of her personal ethics, is desperate to find any place she can use her cooking skills, but being the daughter of a renowned chef no one trusts her to hire her. For Flynn his personal excellence proves no one will meet his standard until Gabby applies to work in his restaurant. The characters are amazing, the story is a sweet romance that is definitely the recipe for love.

Gabby and Flynn have a history not of being together but with working with her father who stops at nothing to be top dog be you family or not and now she is working under Flynn and trying to forge her own path. I really liked how they were attracted to each but also both guarded and weary of trust not only with love but the food they make. There are some good laughs as well as disappointment, a surprise connect with a heart tile, love, great characters and lets not forget a recipe book like no other.
