Addicted To Novacane Reviews

This book kept me on the edge of my seat!! This story was filled with so much and will take you through every emotion.

The book centers on Ivy and Cas. He is the king of Cleveland and seemingly on top of the world. He will go above and beyond for those he loves and Ivy and their daughter Cali are front and center when it comes to his heart. After tragedy hits them hard their lives are turned upside down and it spirals fast. As a result Ivy and Cas go from forever loves to the worst of enemies.

On the business side of things Cas and Nova Cane enter a business arrangement that was orchestrated by Nova’s brother Cross and from the very first meeting Cas hates Nova because he has a wealth that Cas has never seen a 28 year old black man achieve and to pour salt on the wound was achieved without selling drugs. Unlike Cas, Nova made smart investments and his money is clean and very long. Just from that Cas is determined to destroy Nova any way that he can. What Cas never saw coming though was for his wife to fall in deep with Nova. Rage is too nice of a word to describe how Cas felt and the way he handled things….. 😖😖

This storyline moves like a rocket ship and had me drawn in. Just when you think everything is starting to look up, the author hits us with a cliffhanger that leaves you with so many unanswered questions. I am ready to see how it all unfolds! To be continued….

    Whew chile

This was so good. First of all let me say I love Nova Cane! But… I also do not fully dislike Cas. Perhaps I’m toxic but I low key felt for him. There really wasn’t a dull moment in this book. Dak understood the assignment. I’m impatiently waiting for part 2 because Cali needs to be brought home. Madam Francois needs to be dealt with. I need to know what happened with Raya and her siblings and most importantly, who is this gangsta old lady? Oh and I’m anxious for a glimpse into Cross and Ali because because I loved Cross as well.

This book…First and foremost, I highlighted so much throughout the book. There are gems and funny comments being dropped left and right in this book.

Ivy and Cas was the couple of the decade. It was so much love and loyalty between the two that it is hard for Ivy to turn her loyalty off for Cas. DAK did an amazing job developing the characters…it’s clear that we should hate Cas but I can’t lie…I held a flame for him until the very end of the book. Cas was a real Casanova (pun intended) in the beginning. He travels all the way to the other side of town just to get his wife her favorite flowers! He the type take you out of the country cuz he woke up and felt like doing that shit. He the type to say if Spike Lee don’t call you, Ima front the cost for your film/tv series. How can you hate a man like that? Only DAK can turn your heart cold towards him lol.

Nova is gonna be the fan favorite and he has every right to be because he commands the room, hell, the page really! Remember when I said Cas the type to fly you out of the country(with Cas y’all flying commercial airlines) with Nova y’all flying private. Remember when I said Cas the type to front you the money for your film/tv series, Nova the type to buy yo ass your own production studio. Nova is a man of great magnitude! Him and Ivy’s journey is powerful like a super nova (again pun intended).

Of course this book isn’t all lovey dovey because that is not DAK’s way lol we gotta have some casualties of war. My heart bleeds for some people and others I don’t think twice about lbs. DAK introduced us to a boogey monster in this book. All Ima say is Fais Do Do will not sound the same to me again. Lastly, it wouldn’t be a DAK classic if you aren’t thrown off guard at the end…I get to the end and I’m like (stomp stomp stomp stomp stomp WHO DA EFF IS THAT?!). Gotta wait for Part 2

    WOW

This was a really good fast paced read that had my attention from beginning to end. The flow of the story will definitely have you anticipating what the next move is going to be with these characters. The author created a plot that you are going to want to know the end result. And the fact that she had Cre and EZ make a cameo was even better for the New York and Cleveland connection. I like Nova, because he had that calm laid back persona while Cas was the hotheaded storm. But just when things are looking goos for Ivy and Nova someone else has other plans and that ending has me wondering what have they gotten themselves into.

    5 star read

This author did an amazing job with this story. The characters kept me on my toes Nova was the calm and Cas was the storm. The fact that EZ and Cre pop in this story and rain bullets was what pushed me over the edge the other definitely went all out with a bang for this one. The ending has me in a chokehold I need part 2 like today !

This was the perfect way to start the year. This book is a movie. Not only did Dak give us a fire plot but the characters she created are amazing. From the main characters on down, you get to know everybody and each one of them is interesting in their own way. She could literally write a book on each of them and you would be hooked. Addicted to Novacane is Top Tier story telling!

    Whewww chilleee

    novacane.

this book was reallllly good! I’m excited to read book two. I really hope cas is dead but then again.. I want him alive .. something is telling me the lady he is selling bricks for is connected to madame Francois.

    DAK never disappoints!

From the very first chapter, this was a heart racer. DAK held nothing back and gave us action on each and every page. I was on edge because she like to kill kids hunty, and never discriminates (Errrrbody can get it). She will always bring the gun play and definitely delivered in ATN! Overall the story is amazing. Cas and Ivy's grief journey was so different and unexpected. DAK is the queen of a plot twist! I just knew the streets was gonna bleed but nah leave it to DAK, to get the unexpected! Instead of them turning to each other, Ivy and Cas were lovers turned enemies, pushing them into the arms of another, that lead to an untimely death and a shocking ending that left me with a few questions......... Was Ivy getting the deal a setup to get to Cas? (The ending has me asking this question) Why Ivy not out looking for that boarding school? (IYKYK) Part 2 me now because I need answers!!!!!!

    Knight in Shining Nova

My first time reading this author and lets say I'm addicted to the penmanship! I love the dynamic of Nova & Ivy attraction to one another. I cannot wait to see what unfolds in part 2!

  • Tarro Stokes-Funches

This is the first time I've read this author's work, but it will not be the last. Your writing style is a little different than what I'm use to, but I'm loving it. I hope they find Cali untouched, my heart couldn't take it if Madame Francois have a chance to do harm to that baby. I really like Ivy and Cas together in the beginning, they truly loved each other. Their grief pulled them a part and he went from Cas the loving husband to somebody else. Ivy also allowed the grief to change her into someone she really wasn't. Then here comes Nova in all of his glory! I like Nova and Ivy together. They haven't really know each other that long, but their feelings are true. Ready for part 2.

    A SURE PAGE TURNER

I loved everything about this book except that damn Castro .Nova cane was that guy he proved that he loved hard and was about his business I'm excited that the characters were young black men with legal dealings and not drugs now I'm wondering if The lady on the plane is madam francios daughter or if she is tied to her in any way I know its nothing for nova to repay her what she lost but at what cost will this person help him ughhhhhh I can't wait for part 2 good job

  • Ebony Rogers

    3.5⭐️

This book stressed me out. The storyline was good but the domestic abuse was a lot for me. Nova was going through too much before he even touched Ivy. Like pls make it make sense? I just didn’t sense the strong connection to entertain Ivy and all of her baggage. I’m all for the instant love and all, but I just didn’t feel it through the pages.

Poor Cali…somebody better find her cus Castro painting Ivy red instead of the city. And I got a problem with that.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I feel like with some good editing, it could’ve been a 4⭐️ read

  • Kami Holt

    🤧❤️😩🤯

Chhhiillllleee, I don’t know why I let this lady stress me out. Nova is really that guy and I honestly don’t feel bad for Cas at all. Pop was 🤢 Cash is disloyal. I’m excited, angry, confused, stressed and anxious. The storyline is everything but I have sooooo many questions, I don’t want to wait 🤧 She definitely did her thing with this and I am impatiently waiting for part 2

  • Nadia Adams

    whew, shit just got real!!!!!

Cas was definitely too selfish and entitled, Ronnie I thought she was smart because there was no way in hell I would of been in his presence after what he did. Pop deserved what he got, that was a violation.
My heart hurts for Ivy, there’s nothing like a mother’s love. I’m hoping that Nova can help her but I have a feeling that the person that’s waiting for him at the airstrip definitely can.

    Jaw Dropped 😱

I belong to K Renee Presents Group on Facebook and so the advertising of this book was so strategic! It was all I could think about and I just knew I had to read it. It didn’t disappoint! The Authoress did a phenomenal job setting the plot for another good one. I love Ivy and I’m rooting for her continued strength as a Strong Female Lead! I could talk about this book forever but instead I can only recommend that you read the book!

  • Siobhan Graham

    Great book

My first time reading from this author i must say i was not disappointed at all. It was a page turner from the beginning to the end. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I hope that Ivy and Nova make it out this situation good. I hope that Ivy finds her daughter. I love Nova and Ivy together they make a great couple. Can’t wait for part 2

  • Monae Nicole

    I needs part 2

This book was so good from the very first page. I loved Nova. His and Ivy's chemistry was off the charts. Pop was trash and I wanted to feel sorry for Cash but I couldn't. I wanted to like Cas and feel sorry for what he and Ivy endured but he made that impossible. I cant wait to see what happens next.

Part 2 Is need like yesterday

Omg this read right here was a all nighter plus. Cas was out of his mind. Ivy was that QUEEN & Nova was that KING. That nanny was something. The old crew was in this read and I was smiling and so happy. The was hot off the press. I need more. This was AWESOME, AMAZING JUST GREAT 💙💎💙

    Plot Twister

Just like Chocolate Nova is a man to be CRAVED!!! With plot twist and unexpected surprises at every turn of a page I was left speechless. New York and Cleveland collide and I enjoyed every moment of it!!! Job well done Dak!!! Can't wait to read the next part of this adventure.
