I skimmed most of it, read a little and skipped a little more. I am well versed in the work of Weston A Price. I know about metaphysics and energy medicine, not well enough, but at least to the level presented in this book.

I was disappointed in Healing Our Children, but then I'm not sure what I was looking for. I didn't need the parenting advice, though I'm not perfect, I'm at least aware of my imperfections.

I have no problem with most of the germ info presented, but I can't believe there is no such thing as a contagious virus. How is the small pox epidemic among the Native Americans explained when European settlers came? I would have to have more evidence and explanation than the little bit given.

I as extremely annoyed at the author's inability to accept the reality of abstinence as something that can be taught to young men and women. There is a story of a man traveling to a new city to live. He asked someone at the gate what kind of people lived there. The gate person asked in return what kind of people were in the city he just left. The point of the story being that we can choose to see people how we want to perceive them. If the author thinks that reality for teenagers are youth who sleep around, than that is the kind of youth he will attract and interact with. Sure, there will be those whom I associate with that mess up, but on the whole I believe in youth that stay morally clean. But I come from a very conservative Christian background, so I understand that I am in a minority.

This book is probably more suited and will be better appreciated (higher rating) to those that need an introduction to WAP and holistic living.

I appreciated the introduction by Sally Fallon and the information presented on Weston Price, however he was too preachy for me. I initially bought the book because it was endorsed by Sally Fallon, however in the end I was disappointed. There is a lot of "should do this" and "should do that" or you are not a good parent. I think in the end we need to be there for our babies, nourish them with love and good quality food, and listen innately to our own mothers intuition. You can't get that from reading a book.

If you have a baby or know someone who does or are thinking of creating one in the next five years, please read this book. It's amazing.

Not sure to give it 2 or 3 stars. I really enjoyed the nutritional information in this book, most of it was based off of works by the amazing Weston A Price. But alooooot of the book, especially the 2nd half, was filled with weird mysticism and odd religious beliefs. With this book you really need to "eat the fish and spit out the bones". Some of his beliefs are simply not true. But when it comes to actual food and nutrition, he is pretty accurate and cites many sources.

I enjoyed the information in the book very much, even though the info wasn't really new to me. I would definitely put this book in front of the "what to expect" series of books. I think it would be a great gift to a new parent who is interested in natural parenting.

Wonderful book for parents to be and even parents of babies and toddlers. Lots of parenting wisdom as well as solid scientific evidence for healthful foods and good fats.
