Born prematurely on August 20th 1917. The doctor who delivered him thought he was dead and so laid him on the foot of the bed.

About 45 minutes later, Kenneth E. Hagin’s grandmother, Drake picked him up to carry him out, but suddenly detected a sign of life in him and that was how it all began with this unique servant of God.

‘‘I believe in Vision,’’ is indeed a compelling personal story of a vessel of God who was labelled half human and given no chance of living.

Read a short piece of what he said about his childhood, ‘‘My childhood was not like other children, for I had been born with a deformed heart and was not able to lead a normal, active life. I was not completely incapacitated, but my activities were limited. I wasn’t able to run and play as other children did.’’

At age 15, few months to his 16th birthday, he was completely bedfast, due to acute heart condition he suffered from greatly. One of the doctors on his case said that he was bordering on total paralysis and eventually would become completely paralyzed.

However, God spared his life and used him greatly to change the course of Christianity.

Brother Kenneth E. Hagin shared his experience when he died and how he had a glimpse of hell and what transpired.

A lesson he learnt was that to miss hell and make Heaven, it will take more than being baptized in water or being a Church member. Jesus said, ‘‘… Ye must be born again’’ (John 3:7).
From the several encounters Kenneth E. Hagin had with Jesus, he came to the realization that the reason why so many ministers die prematurely was because they failed to exit the permissive will and enter fully into the perfect will for their existence.

‘‘Many ministers live and die and never ever get into the first phase of the ministry I have for them. Not always, but many times that is the reason they die young or in middle life and don’t live their full length of time out.’’

He shared his own side, how he had been in the permissive will for 15 years. He was told that he entered into trouble when he reversed his ministerial order from originally prophet firstly and then teacher to teacher firstly and then prophet.
From that day, he was in God’s permissive will. This led to the opening of the door to the devil to attack.

Brother Kenneth E. Hagin was reminded of the Israelites’ experience: ‘‘It wasn’t My will that Israel have a king, and I told them so. But they wanted to be like other nations.’’ (They kept clamouring for a king, so God permitted them to have a king.)

    Lesson Learnt:
Running with a clear cut purpose and vision helps greatly to be impactful in life.

Shortly after I got saved I listened to a series of tapes my mom had at some point acquired by Kenneth Hagin; I must admit that some of the revelation of his teaching played a good deal into my understanding and growth as an early Christian, and helped me to formulate my basic understanding of Pentecostalism (I didn't even know what Hagin looked like until some much later time in my life, from his voice I envisioned a skinny gray headed man). Exposure to his teaching on Ephesians 1, and praying for 'the spirit of wisdom and revelation' (Eph. 1:17-23) in faith because of it, caused me to grow and excel in understanding quickly as a young Christian. I did, indeed, begin to experience supernatural revelation, and developed understanding beyond my peers (which is no boast, but a testimony - I do not believe I would have received revelation in such a marked way had Hagin not taught me to pray for it), and has continued to benefit me through life.

In this relatively short autobiography, Hagin lays out in order the events of his life: how he miraculously survived premature birth, weighing less than 2 lb (and having been pronounced dead by the doctor upon arrival); how he was later saved, and raised up from a deathbed due to severe heart complications at the age of 15 (by which he came to believe in 'divine healing.' He also chronicles five specific visions which he had had through life (including out-of-body experiences on his deathbed) and things that he learned from them.

Hagin's teachings have always impressed me with their astounding balance in the Word - many prophetic voices of our day often seem to become unbalanced from God's Word, and excessively emphasize the vision without proper grounding in the Word. Hagin remains astoundingly biblical, and an apt teacher; I believe he was a True prophet of God.

    Excellent book!
