After a tempestuous acquaintance fraught with misconceptions, Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy are at last of one mind and heart. Their betrothal is not without its own difficulties, however, and a single misunderstanding may place all of their future happiness in jeopardy.

By Amazon Best-Selling author Emmaline Hoffmeister’s, Scent of Desire is a Pride and Prejudice expansion chronicling the six-week engagement of one of the world’s most beloved Jane Austen couples.

Pemberley Mistletoe was originally published in November 2013 and removed from publication in September 2017 by Ayr Bray. Ayr Bray was the pen name of Emmaline Hoffmeister.

Pemberley Mistletoe is a historical romance with the suggestion of mature content, however, the book "fades to firelight" before the situations heat up too much.

Scent of Desire: A Pride and Prejudice Expansion Reviews

    Sweet Read
A nicely written sweet read of ODC in the weeks leading up to their wedding day. The theme is mildly mature, but the content is clean.

    The time before the wedding

The steamy romance between Our Dear Couple. Both are looking forward to the wedding. They are just barely able to hold themselves to propriety and I’m sure Jane was almost scandalized a couple of times.

A nice story of the weeks before their wedding.

I read a previous version of this in 2015 and am pasting my review of that.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars

This was a short read spent with our dear couple as they enjoy their engagement and tentatively explore the sensations brought on by their growing love and passion for each other. Taste, smell, sound, touch and hearing all are part of their awareness of each other.

But as Elizabeth and Darcy go beyond that first tender kiss and find themselves clinging to each other with more depth of feeling, Darcy draws back. Elizabeth is mortified thinking he finds her wanton. He must explain how she affect him, how he is afraid of losing control. It was delightful reading of how they must continually guard against allowing the flames to erupt.

That is until their wedding...night. How very sweet and thoughtful - Darcy has arranged to use the Longbourn Cottage and refurbished it for that time. Warning: if you do not want to read all the details of their first night together...as they explore and learn to please each other...this is not the book for you.

It is just a short sweet read about our favorite couple and the chemistry between them.

Newly engaged couple, Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy, are discovering a lot about each other, including the fact that they enjoy kissing. The story is sweet and clean.

This quick read covers the 6 week engagement period in which OCD have what feel like stilted conversations and make out a lot.

Nice story, no angst, no scandals.

  • Bettye McKee

    Lady's Bedstraw

This is a brief story covering the engagement period of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy. It is a time of getting to know each other and learning to communicate to avoid misunderstandings.
