Turns out, she’s found herself in rather desperate need of a husband. And she seems prepared to do whatever it takes to land one. Even accepting me as her Daddy, just the way it was before.
The first time I take her over my knee, our old flame doesn’t just spark again — it becomes an inferno, and it isn’t long before it consumes us both.
But old lovers come with old wounds, and Millie Sue has already broken my heart once. If we can’t find a way to heal and trust each other again, our marriage may be over before it even begins

Millie wants a baby and Wilson needs a wife in order to collect his inheritance. So the most natural solution to both these problems is to honor a pact they made 15 years ago to marry each other if they were both still single and looking. It's a bumpy road to get there but eventually they make it to their HEA.

TO OUR PAST AND OUR FUTURE
The story is a second chance romance in Three Rivers, Oregon, where it is small-town living, everyone knows each other, and the gossip mill is constantly in the works. The story is mainly focused on Wilson King and Millie Sue Baker. From early on, these two were sweethearts, and everyone knew they were a couple. It was a shock to everyone when Millie Sue just upped and left town with no explanation, so her return will come as a shock.
Wilson King is in shock when he learns of the codicil of his grandfather’s will stipulates to inherit the land; he has to be married by the time he turns thirty years old—and that is in 10 short days. But then for someone to be at his door, only to discover it is Millie Sue and she has a proposal to offer him.
Wilson: Millie Sue. It’s been a long time. What are you doing here?
Millie: I go by Amelia now. Can I come in?
Wilson: I’m trying to decide.
Millie: Fair enough. I’ll just get to the point then, and you can either invite me in to talk or laugh in my face and tell me to get off your property. Wilson, fifteen years ago, we were just fifteen, we promised that if neither of us were married or had any serious prospects, that when we were thirty, we would marry each other. We made a marriage pact, and I’ve come to collect.
The story will bring things out about their past and talk about their future, but they must first come to an agreement. Will they be able to pick up their relationship where they left off? Has Millie Sue showing up on his doorstep become an answer to his prayers?
Wilson: We go back to how it was before. Exactly how it was before. The rules, the roles, the whole shebang.
Millie: All of it? Even the—daddy thing?
Wilson: Especially that. I’m your daddy, you’re my little girl. You consent to my rules, my punishments, and you let me take care of you the way a daddy would.
Millie: Wilson, that—was a long time ago. I’ve changed. I don’t need that anymore. I don’t have daddy issues.
Wilson: I need it. Ever since you opened your mouth, your inner little girl has been begging for my daddy.
The story is a journey of second chances with new beginnings. A Vegas wedding, a short honeymoon, and then to face their friends—and Mama King. But this union has secrets, and that will play a role in their relationship. Millie feels her biological clock is ticking and wants a baby, and Wilson needs to be married to gain his land. For them, some things are just like they had been before she left, and others are new. Wilson is a Daddy Dom, and he won’t let her forget it. When she bucks his rules, he is fair but firm. It takes her time to capitulate to his dominance, yet she always feels better afterward.
The story has plenty of daddy taking care of his little girl, discipline, and explicit sex scenes. -
The couple: Wilson and Millie Sue
Romance genre: DDlg
Series: Three Rivers
Length: 165 pages
Plot: Things aren't going so well for Millie. Her life hasn't turned out the way she wants, and now that what she wants is a baby, of course, she has no man. But she does have a decades-old pact with her ex, Wilson. She decides to head back home and see if he's still available. For Wilson, Millie is definitely the one that got away. He just doesn't know why she left. But he needs a wife really fast to meet the requirements of his inheritance, so Millie showed up just in time. With all these secrets and ulterior motives, nothing could possibly go wrong, right?
Commentary: I'm still not sure I understand why Millie left.
I like how one of the first things she announced is that she goes by Amelia now, and literally nobody called her Amelia at any point in the story! They were not there for her shenanigans.
Wilson darn sure needed to grovel just a little bit more. Millie was honest about her reasons for coming back - the least he could have done was reciprocate. I thought that communication was the most important thing in a relationship like theirs, but it seems he forgot that when it came to himself.
Still, I'll probably read the rest of the series as it comes out (especially if we get more about the brothers!). -
Millie Sue and Wilson each have their own reasons for wanting to get married. She wants a baby and he needs a bride for his inheritance. Coincidentally she shows up asking him to make good on their childhood promise just 10 days before he'll lose everything. Problem is, she tells him her why, but he doesn't. And when she eventually finds out the sparks fly. This daddy book is more of a daddy to keep you in line vs. a daddy with a little girl, but still a great read.

Rayanna Jamison is a wonderful author who puts so much thought and detail into her books that they are hard to put down. How she makes the characters lifelike is truly a gift. I absolutely loved this second chance romance with a couple that are no longer in their teens but who also have unresolved issues from those teen days. Wilson King and Millie Sue Baker have one heck of a story. Each and every character came to life and you find yourself being drawn into their tale, a clean romance, well-paced, with an enjoyable plot, and brims with twists and turns with Wilson King and Millie Sue Baker's life adventures. Down Home Daddy (Three Rivers Book 1) is a sweet second chance with DD/lg book. A small country town is the setting for this story. Wilson King and Millie Sue Baker were high school sweethearts with a wedding pact promise. As they grew up everyone thought that they would get married. However, Millie Sue had other ideas that left Wilson wondering what happened. Over the years they were apart they still held a flame for each other. Call it fate but Millie shows up out of the blue and Wilson could not believe his luck. Will the secrets that both of them are keeping push them apart? Sorry, you need to grab the book and read it to find out.

I really liked this story. Millie Sue had left Three Rivers ten years ago but now she is nearly 30 she remembered a pact that she made with her boyfriend Wilson, who was also her Daddy Dom, that if they weren’t married by the time they were 30 they would marry and have a family. Now her biological clock is ticking and with endometriosis her childbearing years are getting smaller so she heads back to Three Rivers to see if Wilson is still single.
Millie Sue has shown up on his doorstep and propositioned him, just at the right time because in 10 days they would be 30 and a clause in his grandfathers Will stated that Wilson had to be married before he was thirty to gain possession of the property and monies that had been said aside for him. Wilson agrees to the marriage and insist they go to Vegas get married straight away but there were stipulations in the marriage that he would become her daddy again and she would obey him and abide by his rules, Millie Sue agrees and they get married and although there are some teething pains they eventually have a happily ever after with a baby on the way.

I really enjoyed this book. First in the Three Rivers series. I have actually read these out of order, but that did not spoil my enjoyment, just gave me a happy surprise when characters I recognised appeared.
Millie-Sue ran from Wilson 10 yrs ago, determined to grow up, leaving was the only option she thought she had.
Both Millie-Sue and Wilson grieved the loss of what they had.
Now Millie-Sue has realised the life she wants is with Wilson. So she heads home and greets him with a proposal.
Wilson has his own reasons for wanting Millie-Sue back. Least of which is saving his farm and becoming a Daddy.
Great characters in a detailed and engaging story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

This book is just pure smut 😂 Which is totally fine but there is not a whole lot of plot line. There are several times where I’m like…that doesn’t happen in real life and that would never happen. Like she just up and leaves work to go find this guy, and like of course it’s a small town so she can easily find him but like…you just magically had all that time off to spare? Also they never talk about her friendship with Emerson back home which I find very weird because I promise that if I just up and left town to find a man, my best friends would be scouring the country for me to make sure I was okay.
There is a Daddy Dom/Little Girl Sub trope which I also just was not really interested in AND the whole thing is basically about her wanting to be pregnant, which again, I am not really interested in. Overall the sex scenes are well written and interesting but some of the plot holes and stuff just threw me off. -
Millie Sue’s clock is ticking. She wants a baby. Problem, she needs a daddy for that. She could go the cold route but there is one man that she knows might help her. Wilson was heartbroken when Millie left him. Now she is on his doorstep asking is he will honor their pact that they made, to marry each other if they found no one by the age of thirty. But Wilson wants to know why she left him. He also needs a wife in order to inherit a parcel of land. With a hand shake and a quick wedding, things are set in motion. But there a rules to the deal. He will be HER daddy. I have to say this is a twist. It is usually the woman that is upset about losing the guy. Wilson is a sweet man and loves Millie. Both of them made mistakes and we finally find out why she left. Amazing about the small town gossip. Can’t seem to keep any secrets. The truth will set you free.

Uhm
Hello there.
Can I have a Wilson too please?
Okay, me drooling aside. This was an excellent book. Millie and Wilson have amazing chemistry and the way she struggles with her little side was realistic and fun to read.
I loved the story line and the feeling of dread that the reader is left with while the basically wait for the other shoe to drop. The way it was handled was pretty darn good and I enjoyed every moment of it.
This was my first Rayanna Jamison book and I can quite easily say that I am not a HUGE fan. The way she wrote the characters made them so real for me.
This was a very cute second chance romance with a teensy bit of redemption and drama. Easy read, will probably be coming back for a reread too. -
Second chances
Wilson Wayne King just found out to inherit a piece of land from his grandfather he had to be married by his 30 th bday, not only did the short timeline cause a problem but the fact he was still in love with Millie Sue who broke his his heart 12 yr ago. Millie Sue found out the hard way, moving to the city wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, she missed her small home town & especially Wilson who she left behind. Now she has shown up on Wilsons porch out of the blue wanting to collect on a packed they made when they were 15. Will he honor their pack or send Mille Sue back to the city. -
Millie and Wilson made a pact years ago then she left town and left Wilson heartbroken. Now she's back to collect on that pact. She wants a baby and he needs a wife to inherent the land his Grandpa left him, only he doesn't tell her that part! Oops! The connection between them is still there but she's resisting the relationship they used to have. Can they both get what they want and what will happen when Millie finds out the reason Wilson married her? This was a fairly quick read but packed with emotions!

3.5⭐️
They used to be high school sweethearts. Millie needs help - her best option is make good on a marriage pact with the man she never got over. Wilson always thought of her after she left but he never thought she’d show up looking for marriage. He can’t say no.. for his own reasons.
Short and sweet. Loved their dynamic. Millie is a bit of a spitfire and really keeps Wilson on his toes. He’s a bit of a hard ass and overprotective but she definitely needs it.
Contains certain themes - be sure to read blurb before reading! -
back home again
Millie Sue is back home and it is almost the 30 yr pact she made with Wilson (her ex boyfriend)
Boy is that some pact they came up with.
This was a very cute and enjoyable read.
Got down to the real reason they are together and were supposed to be.
Really enjoyed reading this and I throughly enjoy this authors writing.

What a great story! I loved that Wilson was sure about the type of relationship he wanted for the rest of his life when he was a teenager. I have to admit I cried several times - I could feel their pain in my heart. I'm really, really excited for the next book in the series!

Down Home Daddy (Three Rivers #1) by Rayanna Jamison – Millie Sue and Wilson’s marriage pact may have been made when they were 15, but both of them have reasons for calling it in! I’m looking forward to the rest of this series, but I have got to stop reading the first book when the rest haven’t even been written yet! Lol! Happy Reading!
