No one we know

Use a fake name

Check emotions at the door

Don’t tell him about any of it

I followed his rules religiously. Until him. Until he made me break every rule. When my husband comes face-to-face with my mystery man he's livid.

Because they've already met.

Now I’m caught between the man I love and the man that sets my soul on fire. They’re both asking me to make a decision. But how do I choose between two pieces of my heart?

    Enjoyable read..

Very unconventional story about a damaged husband who lets his wife become a hotwife to fulfill her, and his, sexual needs, only problem being..she falls in love with another which is where the unconventional bit comes into play.
Will read the sequel to see where it ends up.. nice writing style as well Kat..

Wasn't this just a breath of fresh air!!

I've seen the name Kat Blackthorne for a while now and when I finally decided to try one of her books it was Hotwife. A book about a strong, confident, and loved fat woman. Dolly's confidence in herself was worth this book alone!! Add in Cedric and Desmond and you have a spicy unconventional romance that is just magical.

Yes, there was cheating. Read the book. Don't judge it because of that, there is far more to the story than that and yes, in this case it matters.

Not going to lie though, there for a bit I was full of nerves. If I was Dolly, I wouldn't have been able to decide. Two wonderful and very different men, both of whom wanted her for exactly who she was but could give her different things she needed.

This is one of those books you will love or hate, I LOVED it!! Excited to see what is up next for Dolly and her pod!!

This book was hot and swoon-worthy! This is my first read from Kat Blackthorne, and let me tell you, it will not be my last. This book had me hooked from the very first chapter, and I devoured it in one sitting.

Doretha Ruth Queen Winslow is the wife of Cedric Winslow, a brilliant neurosurgeon who is devoted to his career. Tragedy happens, and Cedric can no longer please his wife in the bedroom. They have been living in a sexless marriage for a few years. Cedric is 26 years older than Doretha and knows that she has needs and wants, so he was happy to outsource her pleasure to other men only if she played by his rules. The rules were simple: No one they knew, use a fake name and don't catch feelings, and he didn't want to know anything about it. Doretha loved her husband very much, but he rejected her, and she lost faith in their love until she met Desmond, a sexy, devilishly handsome tattooed man who rode a Harley. She instantly knew that it wouldn't just be sex with Desmond; she started to connect and feel for Desmond, but she still loved her husband. Confused and conflicted about what to do, she found herself spending more time with Desmond falling madly in love with him. Her husband became suspicious about her leaving and coming home late and questioned her. She had to choose, and she needed to make it fast. What was Doretha to do?

This book had me in all my feelings. The push and pull and the hot sexual tension Doretha and Desmond had was fire. Trust me; you will not be disappointed! I can't wait to read more from Kat Blackthorne.

    2/5 ⭐️ 1.5/5🔥

This didn’t give a good representation of “hotwifing” at all, typically- Hotwife/Cuckold is where the wife that is obviously hot and attractive to other people, AND allowed to have sex with other people, particularly when her spouse watches or participates because the husband finds it hot to share his wife. HOWEVER, this wasn’t the case the first 60 ish % Also the fact that Hotwife isn’t supposed to lead to a Poly relationship, I mean it can but again I felt it wasn’t a good representation to me at least.

The character we’re also not that memorable, Dotty and Ced have a one-sided open marriage because Ced can’t get it up. Where Dotty is allowed to see and have sex with other men because again her husband can’t fulfill that sexual part of there relationship. I wish there was a different way the author went about it bc someone who knows about Hotwife , this was just not it and not satisfying to me. That’s where Des comes in and it’s a whole ordeal bc apparently there’s a secret between them as well and when everything came out, it wasn’t addressed either like the situation with Cora and her husband?? The party with all there work friends finding out?? Like come on, I want the juicy destails but there relationship turned into MFM/Poly and had a HEA for everyone.

shockingly good for being shockingly short. I did guess what was going on before the big twists were revealed. Not much plot but mostly smut.

  • Dani (Daniiireads)

    Surprisingly good!

Surprisingly, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Though the book was fairly short which made everything feel very rushed, I liked this story and had a fun time reading it.

Can we talk about the cover?? It’s beautiful yet somewhat discreet. This was my first read by Kat Blackthorne and it will certainly not be my last. I was swooning yet flustered all throughout reading this.

If this book had been written as a full novel (300+ pages plus) I would have given it a 5-star rating without a doubt. 💥

I enjoyed the story but it was so quick that I didn't get the chance to fully love the characters. I will say I felt something between Desmond and Dolly, it intrigued me so much I want a longer book made from this novella. There are many things that weren't explained enough (the whole backstory behind Dolly's and Cedric's marriage, the complete reason why Cedric stopped with physical touches, and more about Desmond) but I liked a lot of things too, like her and Cedric's dynamic, the whole sharing thing was hot and everything with Desmond. I have to say, I would have loved to see more reasons behind the love Cedric and Dolly had because from what I have read, she definitely fit more with Desmond. Dolly also shouldn't have said anything to Cora! The conflict surprised the hell out of me and I didn't believe my eyes, the same as Dolly. I enjoyed the smut, but I wished there was more MFM!

The resolution was once again quick, but amazing and the ending was incredibly sweet. I hope the author decides to continue with their story or expand upon it. ❤️️

Not nearly smutty enough. Terrible plot and plot twists. I was pretty much over it when the heroine And things just got more wtf from there on. And not in a good way.

"Our problem wasn’t a lack of love, or friendship, or even attraction in my case. The problem was that even though I had everything any woman could ever want. A handsome, successful man, money, fine things, and genuine love … I wanted more. I wanted sex. No, I wanted him to fuck me. Fuck me hard.”

If you are looking for a spicy quick read with plenty of plot twists and the BEST ending, look no further!!

Marriage can be a real struggle and that is certainly the case for Dorthea and Cedric. These two have so much love for each other they would do anything to save their marriage, even if it meant Dorthea was sleeping with other men!

Dorthea always followed her husband's rules... until she met Desmond! This man would make any woman swoon, and Dorthea can’t help but fall for her dark, mysterious biker man.
Things come to a climactic head and Dorthea doesn’t know what to do or who to trust anymore. How could she choose between her husband and a man he gives her everything he can’t?!?
Definitely give this one a read!

This was one of the best mfm stories I have read in a very long time. I honestly don't think the title nor the cover do it justice. 'Not Just a' Hotwife would have been a better title in my opinion, as this story is far deeper and more emotional than I expected it to be based on the title and cover. I reread the last few chapters several times before making this review because I wanted to relive the emotions and intensity several more times.

Dolly is such a passionate and fully fledged out character. As well as the themes involving her job and interests that tie into the story and how she views things, it's just beautiful. I would love to see the title and cover better represent this story as an raw and passionate erotic romance that is fervent not just in the sex but in the emotional depth of the characters and the world around them.

I Give this Book a 3/5 Star Rating.

Ok, so this read did put me in a good mood. But I think it’s time I really just accept the fact that I can’t enjoy short reads, this book does lack a lot of depth that it really needed. This book is handled very ‘shallow’ and it was kinda weird that Dolly divulged information to someone (a woman) who she should’ve known better, I was just flabbergasted at that scene.
This book should’ve been given more depth, more thought.

This had insta vibe all over it - Insta:Love & Heat

I’m not going to go further with this series, maybe at a later date possibly. But right now this book was written at a brisk pace that it just came across convenient at every turn.

Again, DEPTH was really needed here and breathing space, there just wasn’t enough time for nearly anything, too much going on yet nothing going on at the same time. Total confusion. This Storyline should’ve been handled with more care, I feel like what happened with Cedric was nearly glossed over, and was wrapped in a bow at the end, like a complete explanation was the ‘clear all’. The past was glossed over, as well which I would’ve liked to have read in better detail and in order.
There should’ve been more POV’s aka the Men than just Dolly’s.

    HEA(?): Yes
Relationship Type: MFM, I mean while I’m obsessed over the concept, I feel like it was a ‘Stamped Relationship’ (they were going to be in a relationship even if we like it or not, which again I love this couple, but in the book itself it just comes across sudden, and what you’re given is so quickly that you have to absorb and accept on the spot. Alternating POV’s would’ve been a fantastic fix)
    Heat: 3.5/5
Pacing: Slow-Mid-Fast-Very Fast. So it’s more of a turbulent pacing.
Drama: 3/5, there is outside drama that wasn’t needed, it felt like it was added as a deflector, and took too much space and in the end the couple (MFM) suffered greatly in my opinion, cause in the end the page length is focused on someone else.
    Suspense: 2.5/5

I received an ARC for this story. This is my first ever hot wife experience and I want more. The characters are just everything you dream about. Hot Doctor, Bad Boy and Smart but beautiful Women. The plot was everything. I wonder what ever happened to her friend but I loved the ending. The spicy scene are everything and more. When this book is released you have to go read it!

I will 100% admit that I bought this book because I saw it teased on TikTok. And it pretty much delivered what I thought it would. It was a quick read, it had some spice, it definitely had an unconventional premise, and I read it in one sitting. I definitely be interested in seeing how the author continues this world because it’s definitely intriguing.

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! This was a tasty little treat. MFM romance.

I received an ARC of this story for my honest opinion.

Dorothea Ruth Queen Winslow (Dolly) is not your average 24-year-old housewife attending “Doctor Wives Club”, hosting dinners, and volunteering at her local aquarium. She hides a secret that haunts her, a marriage where her husband refuses to be touched and make love to her. Dolly or Ruby is a Hotwife trying to find the oh-so-wanted orgasm; while longing to be wanted and loved by her dear husband, Cedric. What happens when a hot photographer comes into the picture? Dolly’s world is filled with earth-shattering orgasms and rule-breaking.

This book had me on the edge of my seat and swooning: the plot twists, the spice, the suspense. Kat Blackthorne now has a new loyal follower after this read.

Hotwife is not just about a wife who lost touch with her husband; it’s a conflict between Dolly’s societal image, sexual needs, and her heart.

Overall, Blackthorne's writing had me in my feelings. Between the sexual tension coming from Dolly and Desmond is unbelievably sexy. You will not be disappointed by this steamy romance.

  • Caitlen

Hotwife had me from the start. Dorthea is young and absolutely loves her husband, but events have caused their marriage to lose its spark they once had. When Dorthea meets Desmond you could feel that instant spark between them and how could you not swoon over a tattooed Marine that takes you on adventures on his Harley? Hotwife made me swoon, cry and both Desmond and Cedric melted my heart and panties. In the beginning I was prepared for Dorthea to find love, but I wasn’t prepared for the love she would find at the end of the story.

    An Unconventional Pod ♡

Okay this story is unlike any I've read!! And the Odette and Caroline as supporting characters were so unique.. So hard to review without spoiling but everything about it had me on edge in all the best ways. I think it really shed light to how sometimes the traditional and conventional norms aren't always for everyone! Loved the angst and development all the way to the end. Maybe a bonus extended epilogue in the future!?!

  • Alexis

Even for a novella not much is going on here. The premise isn’t really true to how “hotwife” relationships work. The characters are tropey to the point of being uninteresting. While the answer to a love triangle being polyamory is a trend I would love to see more of…this one just wasn’t it for me.

  • Narissa

This book was real bad. A doctor loses one patient and stops being able to bone his wife which I don't know a ton of doctors but that seems unlikely but then even less likely he brings in some guy to start boning her then gets mad and starts being able to bone her again. this book is all over the place and I really hate it.

  • Alyssa Hingley

This book would do well to be a full book, not novella. The events needed more build up than they were given, so when things happened it just felt random.
Second, I was disappointed in the smut. It needed more.

Dorthea is a neurosurgeon’s wife. She has everything she can ever want and even volunteers at the local aquarium because of her fascination with sharks. She’s friends with the other wives. Anything she needs, her husband will get it for her. They have a seemingly happy marriage - both love one another deeply…except, he can’t have sex with her.

So, what happens when he gives her permission to hook up with other guys with the stipulation to use a false identity and not fall in love with them?

    ——————

Dorthea is a pastor’s daughter with a wild streak. She met her now husband at age 20 when her parents had him over for dinner and both had “the eyes” for the other, even though he is significantly older and more established than she is. What I liked about Dorthea is she always considered her husband’s feelings prior to making a decision and never strayed in her love for him, even though it killed her that he couldn’t provide the only thing that was missing in their marriage. Her feelings for her husband were solid.

Cedric is gone all of the time, picking up extra shifts and neglecting his wife to save lives. He’s selfish in his thinking, but at the same time, you don’t hate him because of it. You realize he has a major job to do and has to make sacrifices somewhere, mainly consummating his marriage. When present in their marriage, he is fully present, listening to her talk, making her breakfast, etc.

The characters were fun, the storyline was hot, and Dorthea’s quest for the almighty orgasm through limited companionship was unlike anything I’ve read before. You can tell the author had a great time with this one. The story, although short, is complete.

If you’ve never read a Kat Blackthorne story, she likes to put little twists in the storyline that you may not see coming…Hotwife is no exception. Be prepared to come into this one to have a good time…and stay for the twist and the result after said twist. Dorthea, Cedric, and a special guest, will tell you the tale of Hotwife.

    This is a must read!
