Dark Goddess Magick introduces 20 of the most powerful shadow goddesses and guidance on how to connect with them.

Light magick is all well and good, but sometimes you can't just “love and light” your way through challenging circumstances. The potent shadow goddesses you meet here, however, can guide you through the darkness.

Authored by Ara Campbell of the wildly popular Goddess Circle school and community, each dark goddess entry includes spells, invocations, and practices to utilize the goddess's magick and wisdom for embodying strength, setting boundaries, and transforming your life.

Often, it is in the darkest times that we find our strength and reclaim our power.

Someone poaching on your lover, your home, or your business? Call on Kali, The Warrioress, to release your fear and stand your ground.
Is your world falling apart or are you processing deep trauma or grief? Call on Persephone, The Dark Queen, to help guide you through your emotional underworld and find a new beginning.
Trying to shake your “nice” girl or people-pleaser tendencies? Call on Lilith, The Rebel Renegade Goddess, to reclaim your freedom.

This lovely little book is fun and pretty, and an easy, light read for witches. However, I dislike the approach encouraging you to go around cherry picking goddesses for the occasion, ready to cast her aside as you cross over the mountain. I do not myself work with any deity, but I did enjoy reading the mythology surrounding the goddesses detailed therein.

This collection of guidance and development through a variety of deities was stunning. The beauty of the art, practices, and composition of the book drove me to purchase a physical copy of the book to reread and revisit.

Campbell compiles information that's digestible for those unfamiliar with the content while providing a comprehensive overview. The variety of information maintains the fast-paced aspect of the writing style.

I'd highly recommend this book to those interested in the lessons that can be learned from channelling energy from a variety of sources and within ourselves.

Holy Cow - I am literally buying this as holiday gifts for all my mythology lovers. Not only does this dive deep into mythology, but it features strong women with amazing stories and history!!!

I sat down to flip through this and ended up devouring this in one sitting. When will I learn that I am not a scan and come back kind of gal.

Lately, Greek mythology retellings have been super popular. I've always just went along with them and meant to go back and do more research. This book was an excellent resource for those that want to learn more about important mythology players and strong women to boot!

Thank you, NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group, & Fair Winds Press for this review copy. I will definitely be purchasing a hard copy along with the many I plan on buying to gift! BRAVO - would recommend.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I enjoyed reading and getting to know these 20 goddesses in a way that I had not before. The goddess I have been using in my magickal workings for decades now is Kali. I had to take notes to add to my journal to look to some of the other goddesses for a little help and focus. It has been a bit of a rough year and this helped focus my journaling and my magickal practices. The illustrations in this book are amazing. I will be referring back to this book as needed.

The guidance in this book I find is a bit mixed. My big critique is there isn’t much acknowledgement of possible limitations one should be mindful of with some of the deities who originate in BIPOC traditions and this risks leading to appropriation. That said, I do think a lot of its content has at least some merit and the art style is quite nice.

really enjoyed this book, especially the format. it gives you a comprehensive look at these deities without giving too much info. i also loved the suggested rituals included with each one. the only thing i didn’t enjoy was the meditation based rituals that gave specific things for the goddesses to say and for you to say back to them. i do believe if you’re meditating, you’re not going to want to have to remember and recite specific words during it. so maybe, if you’re like me, you can simply choose to pass on those if that doesn’t mesh well with how you meditate/channel deities.

This is a great introduction to a diverse variety of goddesses as well as different rituals to get you started. I liked the set up of this book, but wish that some of the goddesses were a bit more fleshed out. For example, some had one paragraph of introductory information while others had three to four. But I think this is definitely a great jumping off point for anyone trying to connect or work with different archetypes.

I loved this book! As a beginner, looking into the various deities and their workings, this was a really helpful tool. This book brings together all of the primary and important aspects of the deities in a easy, digestible manner. From the various deities from all around the world, to their associations, and the aspects of what they can help you achieve, it has opened my eyes to all of the possibilities.

What I enjoyed the most about the book were the descriptions of and stories behind the goddesses. I also appreciated that there were a variety of rituals to connect with each goddess, including the ‘simpler’ visualizations, incantations, and affirmations to the more complex ones involving supplies and special preparations.

Fresh and fierce idea - looking at feminism and witchcraft through the lens of amazing, powerful goddesses from ancient civilizations all across the world. Loved learning the stories of these wonderful spirits, and being inspired by Campbell's suggestions for rituals, writing prompts and meditations for each one.

Un très bon livre où j'ai découvert pas mal d'informations et de divinités sur le thème des Ombres.
    Une très bonne découverte !
