The holiday season continues in this captivating third novel in Chelsea Bobulski's All I Want for Christmas young-adult contemporary romance series.

What happens when you take a chance on someone unexpected?

Isla Riddle has been obsessed with True Love for as long as she can remember. Books, TV, movies-if it's a story about star-crossed lovers, ill-fated love, or love conquering all, Isla has read it, seen it, and talked nonstop about it. She's also dedicated her life to it by helping her mom build up Riddle's Bridal Boutique and Wedding Planning, a business they started together after her dad left town ... and they've just received their biggest break yet: a high society bride with a million-dollar budget.

August Harker doesn't have to think much about his life-it's already been planned for him. He has the parent-approved heiress girlfriend, the 4.0 GPA at an elite college preparatory school, and over a dozen lacrosse and debate team trophies. He has no reason to think his life won't turn out just like his dad's, which is exactly why he isn't into planning weddings, parties, or any other event where hundreds of his father's closest clients and legal associates discuss affidavits, jurisprudence, and all the things that make his father the most sought-after criminal defense attorney along the Eastern seaboard. It only reminds August that he'll be discussing the same things with the same people in ten years' time between glasses of champagne and unfortunate run-ins with the electric slide. However, planning a wedding is exactly where he finds himself as his older sister prepares to walk down the aisle.

As Isla works with August behind-the-scenes, she becomes more and more convinced that he's the one: the soulmate she's been waiting for. August feels it, too, that rightness of being with Isla, and as August hears Isla talk about dreams like they're real possessions that can be achieved, he dares to hope for another future entirely, one in which he can become what he's always wanted to be.

But can their love-and August's newly-resurrected dreams-survive the layers of expectations and ambitions that have been placed upon him?

I have never been so hurt by a book šŸ˜‚ I really loved this one but chapter 22 is the worst thing that ever happened to me. Literally I could have cried but my husband would have wanted me to explain and I couldnā€™t relive my pain out loud šŸ˜‚

I just really liked Isla and really wanted everything to be perfect but life isnā€™t perfect, things donā€™t always go according to plan šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ but it was super charming and romantic, the height of ā€œWhat are we doing?ā€ And all of that lovely confusion of falling in love.

It has the ā€œhe has a girlfriendā€ trope which is literally the most difficult for me because cheating is eternally uncomfy. August doesnā€™t have a romantic/feelings involved relationship with his girlfriend (itā€™s complicated) so that it made it easier to understand. Idk it didnā€™t bother me as much as in stories with this trope usually do.

Also I read this book in one sitting. That should be recommendation enough imo

    Onto book 4!

Of all the books in the series, this is the one I've had mixed feelings about! Here's why:

Isla is an assistant wedding planner, helping her mom run her successful small business. August is the handsome brother of their newest extremely wealthy bride, and he even genuinely cares about helping plan his sister's singularly special day. Wealth and desire and expectation keep coming between Isla and August instead of feeding their dreams, and they just can't seem to get it together.

The storyline of this book is a little predictable. I knew how it would end the second I learned August already has a girlfriend who's just as rich as he is, oh and she's vile, but his dad approves. Somebody needs a new girlfriend, right? I mean, right?

At the same time, I love the ending because of how Bobulski developed the main character's, individually and together. This one is very "feel-good," but still satisfying! And I'm still going on to the last book in the series, and that's really the greatest test of all!

Wow, what a whirlwind. My heart was not prepared for this rollercoaster.

This was a classic case of the boy dating the awful girlfriend and falling in love with the nice girl, but I thought the author handled it well. Itā€™s not right to cheat, but when the girlfriend is a selfish jerk, it definitely makes it easier šŸ˜…

Overall, the romance was adorable. The characters were amazing. And I really enjoyed Isla as the female MC. I felt like I could relate a lot with her stream of conscience and found myself laughing out loud in parts of the story.

The beginning was so lighthearted and then once chapter 22 hit, wellā€¦ it was a journey.

I was a little frustrated with August, but when it comes down to it, it makes sense. The ending was perfect, though my only complaint was that I wish it would have happened sooner šŸ’›

Also, similar to Erin, I read this book in one sitting, though only a few hours behind her šŸ˜‚

This is an entertaining installment in the "All I Want for Christmas" series by Chelsea Bobulski. I felt it was a bit weaker than the first two; ironically, it had less language than either (which were my main sticking points with them). For some reason, I just didn't connect as much with the characters as I had previously. But, I did very much enjoy the ongoing rom-com debate (Nora Ephron and "You've Got Mail" for the win, imho)!

And, the book absolutely captures the teen experience--the highs, the lows, and everything in between. :) Perhaps my favorite part was the inclusion of Halloween and the fall season, especially since I started reading it right on Halloween--not planned, but effective! :) That certainly got me feeling festive and fully set up for all the excitement of the run up through to Christmas.

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Another cute Christmas love story by Chelsea! Iā€™m scared to state that I relate to this story because I know others were shunning the blooming love idea while the male MC had a GF, but Iā€™ve been there. I was there at 13, and he was 15.

    So yeah, I relate.

This captured all the feelings, thoughts, and struggles of a young girl who is falling for an unavailable boy only to have *spoiler* happen. It was written to a YA audience and definitely succeeded at showing the state of love at that age.

This song playing through my head the entire read? August by Taylor Swift.

If you are triggered by emotional cheating (even if the girlfriend is kinda awful), then you may want to think hard before reading this. If you understand how that can just happenā€¦then proceed ahead.

Thank you to Wise Wolf Books and NetGalley for letting me read an eARC copy!

I love a good Hallmark Christmas movie as much as the next person, and now that it's officially Christmas season, I thought I'd pick up another one of Bobulski's "All I Want for Christmas" books. One of the biggest disappointments about this book was the fact that it was not very Christmassy. It still takes place in Christmas, VA, but other than a few references to holly and pine, the story felt more like a fall story than a winter one.

I love rom-coms and weddings, so this should've been a homerun for me. It's cute and totally gives off those made-for-TV-movie (even if it's not a holiday movie) vibes, but it just didn't really work for me. Isla was awkward and should've been super relatable, but there's endearing hopeless romantic and then there's willfully oblivious. August seems too perfect to be believable. Isla spends a lot of time asking if he's real, and I felt the same way. The biggest flaw I could find--other than the "fatal flaw" that pops up later--is the fact that he likes Red Vines (ew). The insta-love and ensuing romance/drama didn't give either character much space to develop or grow, and they both ridiculously one-dimensional.

My biggest issue with the book was the story. It was all fun and tropes until Bobulski decided to turn it into a will-they-won't-they. I think one of the main issues was the fact that they fell in love so quickly, she needed an excuse to keep them apart until the end. (Hopefully no spoilers here because, seriously, how can you read the synopsis and not figure out how it ends?) Unfortunately for us, the obstacles she gives our couple are the type that are the most frustrating and not particularly convincing. It's pretty much all willful miscommunication and unnecessary drama, and I am not about that life.

If you're looking for the literary equivalent of a forgettable rom-com All I Want for Christmas is the Boy I Can't Have will hit most of the notes, but don't go into it looking for lots of holiday cheer because you'll be disappointed.

Isla Riddle is a huge fan of ā€œtrue love,ā€ well in books and movies. Seems fitting that she works with her mom at Riddleā€™s Bridal Boutique and Wedding Planning. But love is something that happens to their clients, not Isla.

Augustā€™s sister is getting married. She has chosen a cute little boutique in the town of Christmas to plan her million-dollar wedding. August may come from a wealthy family, but heā€™s tired of having his life planned out for him: what school to go to, what career to have, even who to date. When he accompanies his sister to her bridal consultation, he meets a girl who makes him feel seen.

I love this young adult series! These are sweet, so donā€™t be looking for steam, but they have plenty of romance, fun, and festivities.

Thank you to @wisewolfbooks and @chelseabobulski for these gifted copies.

Thank you so much to Wise Wolf Books for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review!

All I Want for Christmas Is the Boy I Canā€™t Have (hilariously relatable title by the way) was another really fun and sweet romance in Chelsea Bobulskiā€™s new Christmas companion novel series. In some ways, this was my favorite of the three I have read so far, but in other ways it was my least favorite.

I would consider it my favorite of the series mostly because August and Isla were probably my favorite couple out of the main couples in this series so far. They had a lot of great moments that kept me on the edge of my seat. Like with her other books, I just love how Chelsea Bobulski is able to write clean romances while still creating a story that is still so full of exciting romantic tension.

The other thing I liked about this book specifically was the references to romantic comedies that I know and love. That made the reading experience very fun. Also, I enjoyed the overall setting and ambience of the story a lot. There were a bunch of wedding planning scenes, and we were also taken to a few places in New York City. It was definitely the least Christmas-y out of all the books (there really wasnā€™t any Christmas themes/imagery until the end), but I actually didnā€™t mind that, especially considering that I read the book before Thanksgiving.

However, this was also the most frustrating story and couple out of the three. I was really bothered by the emotional (and physical) cheating that occurred since the beginning of the book. I donā€™t care if August didnā€™t love his girlfriend anymore, he should not have been so obviously flirty with Isla. And there were also a few times Isla would say something about August stepping outside the ā€œfriend zoneā€. Like honey, heā€™s been stepping out of that zone since the beginning! I did still like them as a couple, but I couldnā€™t fully fall in love with them, because the cheating aspect really bothered me.

Overall, I had some issues with the main couple, but I still had a blast reading the story. 3.75-4 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of All I Want For Christmas is the Boy I Can't Have in exchange for an honest review!

I've really been enjoying this series! Each installment is unique, and focuses on different characters while still relating back to and connecting to the previous stories. I think the author has done a great job of creating stories that fit well together as a series but can be read and enjoyed on their own. I loved the dynamic between Isla and August, and they are my favourite couple so far in the All I Want For Christmas series. I loved getting a behind the scenes look at being a wedding planner. I found these moments in the book to be very exciting, as I've always been curious as to what exactly goes in to creating and preparing for someone's special day. I also enjoyed how both of the characters enjoyed rom-coms, staying up until late hours of the night to discuss and watch them together. I thought the relationship between these two was very relatable, and I enjoyed following their love story.

I would definitely recommend this book to any YA fan who loves romance novels and who enjoys a quick read! I can't wait to read the next one.

What happens when a girl who believes in love at first sight actually falls in love at first sight? And the boy is gorgeous and perfect but totally taken? But they have to hang out together all the time in romantic locations to plan his sister's wedding? This book is the answer, and it's adorable.

Swoony and sweet, this YA holiday romance is third in a series but works just fine as a standalone. Compared to the previous series entries, it's more straightforward - there's no alternate-universe plot device, no dual POVs. Despite the wedding-at-Christmas setting and the improbably perfect (and wealthy) love interest, the story feels realistic because the main thing keeping the characters apart is themselves. I loved reading this book, but didn't give it five stars because most of the plot movement and character development is on the part of the love interest rather than the main character.

If you think the only thing better than a holiday romance is a holiday wedding romance, this is the book for you. 4.5 stars.

(I received an ARC of this novel from NetGalley.)

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I love this whole series so far and this book is no different. I love the fun holiday vibes. The tropes in this one were different from the first two books. I loved the characters and felt so emotional by the end. The rom-com appreciation was so fun! Truly a blast to read, and quick too!

  • Rose (Adventurous Bookworm)

This book was quite interesting. I read the whole series out of order (2, 4, 1, 3) but did not feel that I missed anything and recommend that the reader choose the order as well. This book happens during the same time as the fourth without giving away any spoilers.
I have only ever seen the theme of wedding planning in a handful of YA novels so the setting felt unique. I do wish that I could have seen a bit more of the actual planning though.
August and Isla did a very good job of challenging each other to follow their dreams. I really enjoyed seeing August as he worked in the kitchen.
This may be a small spoiler, but I cannot believe that everyone acted as if August's father's behavior was normal. I was like...umm...something is wrong here.
Besides for that, this was a solid read that I would recommend to teens.

    4 Stars

Content: occasional language (d***, a**), verbal abuse, emotionally involved with someone else while in a relationship, kissing

Thank you Wise Wolf Books and Chelsea Bobulski for giving me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. All I Want for Christmas is the Boy I Canā€™t Have is my new favorite Christmas book. It blew all my expectations out of the water. As soon as the book was in front of me, I was hooked and could not put it down. This was one of those instances where I needed to read it quickly, but at the same time, I wanted to savor it.
    ~
This book gave in every department. The romance was incredible, the characters were amazing, the slow burn was worth it, friendship was a continuous theme, the family dynamics were top-notch, and the drama was perfect. All throughout those themes was an incredible storyline that kept moving and worked so well. I really enjoyed the wedding event planner part of the story, it didnā€™t seem like a plot devise at all, it was perfectly entwined.
    ~
Oh, how I loved the romance in this book. Iā€™m a sucker for cute boys who fall, and fall hard, for a girl who thinks they arenā€™t enough. August Harker was a great character. He had depth, drive, quirks, and a great sense of humor. He comes from a rich family but isnā€™t proud of it. He wants more than what his father wants for him, but he canā€™t deviate from the plans set before him. Everything is as it should be until his sister has to move her wedding date up and they start rapid-fire planning a wedding with Riddleā€™s Bridal Boutique and Wedding Planning. Enter Isla Riddle. A charming, small-town girl who works hand-in-hand with her mom planning weddings. Theyā€™ve been chugging along making ends meet, but then a rich family comes in offering big money and exposure if they can pull off the wedding in 6 weeks. Of course, they take the offer and start planning a wedding. Cue Isla meet August, in a not quite meet cute, but one that rocks them both. That then cues an adorable awkward friendship of convenience. The two hang out any time wedding planning takes place. They go on adventures through Islaā€™s town and Augustā€™s city, start talking all the time, and watch every romantic comedy they can. Slowly the lines start to blur and they cross a few. What if August has a girlfriend, but is giving mixed signals to Isla. What if Isla has a burning crush but knows she isnā€™t good enough for August.
    ~
The writing style was amazing, I breezed through the book without any problems. I loved that the chapters were short, it kept things rolling and never stagnant. To pair with that, I also loved the pacing of this book. The two worked together to create such a wonderful book. Chelsea did it again. This is her third book set in Christmas, Virginia (though all can be read separately). I love coming back to this town each book and exploring the different characters in depth. And of course, Christmas. There were Christmas themes throughout making it the perfect holiday read.

This is the third in the All I Want For Christmas series all of which are new for this year. The author is good at writing YA novels. These are about good kids trying to figure out love and life. They skip the drama of sex, drugs and alcohol and focus on relationships and family. They can each be read as stand alone but seemingly take place about a year apart. (The couple from the last book are now in their first year of college.)

I'm going to blame storyline preferences but this was the least interesting to me of the books so far. Isla Riddle helps run her moms Bridal Boutique and Wedding Planning business. Their first million dollar budget wedding walks in the door but with a tight six-week time frame. The younger brother of the bride, August Harker is perfect. He is kind, attends an elite prep-school an hour away, loves rom/coms and his family is private airplane rich. But he has a girlfriend. The two become friends as he tags along on cake tastings, venue looking etc. Soon the two are texting and watching movies together over the phone. I should love this more with many rom/com references and a date to the MET in NYC but I had a hard time relating to August. In reality his whole time he is with Isla he is cheating on his GF. And I was confused why his dad would think that he could get an internship at Yale law reserved for college seniors when he is still finishing High School. (Unless prep-school means something different on the east coast.) In my mind the drama of his choosing whether to go to law school was about 4 years pre-mature because he could still go to college and study business which would help him someday if he did open a restaurant which is his dream. There were a lot of family expectations from relationships to occupations that were battles that didn't need to be fought at the moment. With all that being said I'm enjoying the series but rating this one lower. Thank you to NetGalley and Wise Wolf Books for eARC in exchange for an honest review. (2.5 stars)

  • Natalie

2.5 stars, rounded down because of the cheating aspect

This is a series of companion YA Christmas books. They can be read in any order. I read the first book last year and really enjoyed it, so I was excited to get to the rest of the series. Unfortunately, this one was a bit of a miss for me.

    Iā€™ll start with the positives:

ā€” the writing and narrative voice were good
ā€” I liked the descriptions of the Christmas wedding (it sounded gorgeous)
ā€” Isla and her two friends (who are the protagonists of two other books in the series) were integrated well and were good friends to each other (sometimes, the friendship group in a series of companion novels is not well done and I was glad this one was)

However, my likes were somewhat overshadowed by what I disliked:

ā€” CHEATING. I just could not get past the fact that Isla was infatuated with a guy who had a girlfriend. I donā€™t care that the girlfriend was completely awful - in my mind there is no excuse for cheating. The male main character came off as weak and spineless for staying with her while blatantly flirting with another girl. I didnā€™t find him likable at all because of that.
ā€” lack of Christmas. For a book in a series named All I Want for Christmas there were virtually no Christmas elements. The book begins just before Halloween and goes forward from there. The Christmas elements only came in the last 50 pages, and I was craving a Christmas YA romcom, so I was a little let down by that.

  • Of Pens and Swords

I absolutely adored this book. It follows Isla, a teenage girl in her senior year of high school who runs a wedding planning business with her mother, and August, the son of the bride in one of the weddings that they're planning. Isla instantly falls for him, but he has a girlfriend. The romance was adorable; I shipped the pair a lot, and was genuinely invested in their getting together. It felt like a rom-com (which is fitting, because rom-coms are mentioned quite a bit, and Isla and August bond over them). I also absolutely loved the setting, where most of the action takes place around events related to planning August's sister's wedding, which was adorable. The plot was relatively simple and predictable, but still completely enjoyable. My only critique would be that, considering that the book takes place over only six weeks, Isla and August do get very dramatic with their feelings very quickly; it definitely wasn't enough to make me change the rating, but it was one thing that bothered me a little bit. However, I still thoroughly enjoyed the book (hence the 5-star rating), and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a fluffy and quick romance read, particularly around the holidays.

Thanks to the publisher for providing me with a free electronic ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

  • Lucy (LucysLumos)

ā€œI was fine before I met you, you know. A little too in love with love, maybeā€”a hopeless romantic who couldnā€™t wait to find someoneā€”but I wouldnā€™t have been in such a rush to fall in love if Iā€™d known that finding someone would turn my whole world upside down.ā€

As Islaā€™s mom jumps into planning Augustā€™s sisterā€™s wedding, Isla realizes that the swoon worthy little brother is going to be a bigger part of the planning than is typical of a brother of the bride. Despite the difference in Islaā€™s single parent loving home and Augustā€™s wealthy, love lacking family, the two form a connection over a shared love of romantic comedies. August sweeps Isla off her feet, despite having a self-centered girlfriend he keeps around because his father approves. As Isla challenges August to break from the cycle of seeking his Dadā€™s approval to following his heart, the two find each other and make space for love in their lives.

I enjoyed the lighthearted banter, cute romcom scenarios and the emotions of two high schoolers falling in love. A fluff-filled holiday read šŸŽ„

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc of All I Want For Christmas is the Boy I Can't Have by Chelsea Bobulski.

This third installment in Bobulski's "All I Want for Christmas" series follows Isla and August. Continuing from the friends in "All I Want for Christmas is the Girl in Charge" we get to see Evelyn, Beckett, and Savannah again though it is a year later and they are not a large part of the book but it is nice to have that continuity of characters and already have been introduced to romantic Isla in the previous book.

Isla and her mother run a wedding planning company in Christmas, Virginia and when Kathleen Harker comes in with her mother, father, and younger brother, August, looking to plan a wedding for Christmas which is six weeks away they are the only ones who say it can be done. Instead of begging off of any wedding planning duties August keeps showing up to these appointments making Isla fall deeper in love with him each time.

I enjoyed the way that this book read as well, more like a Nora Roberts than the previous book but again it felt like it fit the storyline since Isla and August are obsessed with romantic comedies. I felt like the story progressed both as expected but also in a way that was enjoyable to read about. The happily ever after ending is what it is all about.

    Overall 3.5 stars.

Isla Riddle is a hopeless romantic that is obsessed with love and Nora Ephronā€™s movies. Ever since her dad left, sheā€™s been helping her mom build up their bridal boutique and wedding planning business, and theyā€™ve received their biggest client yet: a high society bride with a 500 guest list and a million dollar budget. She didnā€™t expect to fall for the bride-to-heā€™s brother, August Harker.

August isnā€™t happy with his life. His passion is being a chef but his parents have planned his life out already. Being with Isla is like a breath of fresh air. Despite their social and financial differences, they canā€™t stay away from each other. Even though August has a girlfriend. Review:

Isla is such a sweetheart! And August is a perfect romantic interest for her. ā¤ļø They give me a bit of fish-out-of-water vibes and the couples of sweet romantic movies.

Isla is in love with the idea of love. She is always on the lookout for her One True Love, but until then she enjoys helping her mom plan weddings for those who already found their loves. Sheā€™s ready to go all in when her mother is requested by a million dollar wedding client, but then sheā€™s entranced by the brideā€™s younger brother (August).

Unfortunately for Isla, said brother already has a gorgeous girlfriend. So Isla attempts to keep August out of her mind and focus on his sisterā€™s wedding planning. But thatā€™s hard to do when August comes to each meeting and talks with Isla on more than just wedding things. And keeps proving (in her mind) that August is her One True Love.

Will Isla be able to get August out of her mind? Does August like Isla back? And if he does, what about his current girlfriend?

Enjoy this sweet romance as it is recognized and grows, as it suffers through hardships, and shows both our main characters that they are more than they believed.

He has the parent-approved heiress girlfriend, the 4.0 GPA at an elite college preparatory school, and over a dozen lacrosse and debate team trophies. He has no reason to think his life won't turn out just like his dad's. He finds himself tagging along as his older sister prepares to walk down the aisle.

    Thoughts:
This is the third book in the series. I hate to say it but I didn't love it like the other two. The second book was the strongest for sure. This one didn't have the Christmasy feel that the previous books had. We see some of the characters from the last 2 books but only on the phone.

It had some good banter. I loved that they watched RomComs together while talking on the phone. That was very cute. Other than those times in the book I didn't feel a huge connection between the two. It also felt icky to me because it was definitely cheating. To me the relationship felt very rushed. The end of the book could have had a lot more to it. The other books I struggled to put down and this one I put down a few times. I liked it. I don't regret reading it. I will definitely read the fourth book.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC! ā¤

This must be the favourite of the bunch, but All I Want for Christmas is the Boy I Canā€™t Have was the perfect amount of romantic angst, miscommunication and unrequited love.

August Harker was the perfect kind of guy for a girl whoā€™s as in love with love as Isla Riddle. Weā€™ve already been introduced to Isla from book 2 and I definitely liked her outlook on love. Full of references to the best romantic comedies of the last few decades, this was an ode to love and the stories that bring people together.

I love the idea of a Christmas wedding, and whatā€™s more romantic of a backdrop to set this story to? Isla and her mother have a wedding planning business and it was so much fun seeing their plans for Augustā€™s sisterā€™s wedding.

But more importantly, the romance was cute even though it frustrated me at the same time. August was kind, considerate and a great friend. The instant love feel at first was a bit unrealistic as Isla just fell for him immediately, but their interactions over time sold me on their connection and by the end I just wanted the happily ever after for them.

If you want a cute winter read, with admittedly less focus on Christmas than just a winter romance, this is the one!

Thank NetGalley for providing me with an electronic arc for me to review.
First things first, I do not usually read romcoms but when I read the synopsis I was intrigued. Also, I have not read the other works but I feel it can perfectly be read as a stand-alone. Unfortunately, it wasn't my cup of tea, I really wanted to enjoy it and I was really in the mood of reading a romantic story but I felt the story was just very blank. I didn't love the main couple, the banter was nice but I was just waiting for August to break up with his current girlfriend which was, in my opinion, the whole problem with the relationship. Like, the synopsis made it out to be star-crossed lovers/forbidden romance, can't be together, etc, but their entire family just looks at them and be like 'oh well they like each other, nice'. Also, I hate when they do like 'oh just go and follow your dreams f*ck everything else when there are real consequences and he's given no real way on how to deal with them.
Despite all that, it's not a bad book, it was just average, it did nothing particularly great, the story is faced-paced and entertaining.

The third installment in the All I Want For Christmas series was just as wholesome and cute as the first two. This series is the perfect thing to get me in the holiday spirit. I feel like this whole series would make a perfect Christmas gift for romance lovers.

So far, Isla and August have been my least favorite couple in this series. They seemed to fall in love instantly and the whole "being in love with a guy who already has a girlfriend" trope was just a little bit too much like real life for me. The two seemed a little too compatible for my taste. They were basically the same person and their one fight was basically over nothing.

I really loved August and Isla's date at the MET though. So cute! Their moments in New York together were my favorite.

This book is supposed to be YA, but the references felt too old. As someone who is currently 15, I haven't seen any of the rom-com mentioned in this book (I have heard about two though). I also had no idea who the actresses Isla talked about such as Nora Ephron (I'm assuming she's an actress- I don't actually know) are.

Book 3 in an interconnected series of contemporary young adult romance novels with a Christmas theme. Each novel highlights the importance of understanding yourself when entering a relationship, having a supportive circle of people in your life, and that true love is bringing out the best in each partner.

High schooler Isla loves love - and she's made a business out of it too. She and her mom created a bridal and wedding company after her dad took off and the two have built it into a success over the years. Their future seems secured when they are hired by a high-society bride for a million dollar wedding. When Isla meets the bride's younger brother, August, she knows she's found her own true love. But August is in another league with an executive legal career mapped out for him by his father. As they spend time together, both Isla and August discover their strong bond. But is the bond strong enough for August to speak up for a future he can design for himself. Highly recommended for ages 12 and up.

This third installment to the All I Want For Christmas series was such an enjoyable read. A fiction loving girl obsessed with true love and a rich boy who hasn't thought much of love even come into each others lives, and what blooms between them is something special.

As the story goes on August finds new dreams for himself and his life that don't mesh well at all with the life that his father has had planned and mapped out for him. Some things are worth fighting for and the more time that Isla and August spend together the more they realize that. But even being a fighter the world around them, especially August, has potential to suffocate and smother the new dreams he has discovered that he hopes he can follow.

I really enjoyed reading the journey that these characters take throughout the novel. The slow burn romance was so worth it and the friendships were so great. Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this novel.

All I want for Christmas is the boy I can't have
    by Chelsea Bobulski
    3 stars

This is another good one by Chelsea, another quick cute read. Definitely captures how the teenagers and even adults can be the awkwardness of when you really like someone how you don't know sometimes how to speak. Unfortunately, I was really hoping this would have the dialog like the other books had and was kind of disappointed that this one didn't have much of it. This book shows how one kid could struggle to try to please his parents and find his way into his dream profession. It shows that sometimes as adults we don't realize the pressure the kids have these days and sometimes how we can add more pressure to that. These characters overcome so much in a relationship and keep working at it is amazing. I just love these books. On to the next.

Thank you to Wise Wolf Books and NetGalley for the e-ARC!

I did enjoy this book, but there were a few things I wasnā€™t expecting going into the third instalment of this series, most notably that it is much less Christmasy as the first two books in the series, which was all right but not what I was expecting. We also had two new main characters for this book, Isla and August. Like the previous two instalments, I enjoyed the relationship between the two and I liked how they were brought together by planning for his older sisters wedding (I love weddings). I liked how she pushed him to be who he really wanted to be and not just go along with the life that others had planned for him. I like romances where the two people bring out the best in each other. Overall, i think this was a good romance but not a holiday centred one.
