Orcs killed my family. They order us around and take from us what they want. And I am determined to end their rule. So when the ferocious silver-eyed orc says he’ll carry me away from my backwater village right to the orc capital, I take this chance. Being among orcs and having access to their Imperator, I can save humankind.

There is only one complication. This orc wants me to become his mate. He promises, or rather threatens, to court me over the journey. And orc courtship isn’t about flowers and holding hands. It’s about showing me his desire. I must pretend to be attracted to him so he doesn’t discover my secret.

The problem is… I don’t really have to pretend. I'm falling in love with my deadliest enemy.

This steamy monster romance is a 37,000 word novella and ends with a HFN. It’s book one in The Silver Fury series.

The Orcs Bride (The Silver Fury #1) Reviews

I did not enjoy this novel as much as I was hoping to enjoy it. I love monster romances as a general rule, but the writing skill here was disappointing. The heroine had somewhat clumsy characterization, with her thoughts and emotional reactions feeling way off. The actions and internal monologues of the characters seemed unrealistic, without much nuance. The world building was more interesting, but a lot of elements of this society and the fantasy landscape went unexplained or occasionally contradicted itself, which was disappointing. I do not recommend this fantasy romance, since there are some other excellent orc romances out there by S.J. Sanders, Tracy Lauren, and Finley Fenn that have far superior characterization, world building, and romantic relationship development.

I received a free copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    4.75 stars.

Oh. My. Goodness! That was amazing! Cliffhanger ending but sounds like the rest of the series is out.

    This was soooooooo good!

    Orc smut with excellent consent.

Thoughtfully done with lovely character and relationship growth in such a short book. I’m guessing the other two books and this make one solid story. Not sure why the author would want three books rather than one longer one.

One of the only things that brings this down a little is the absolutely absurd size difference between the main characters.

    Cliff ~

I hate not being informed that a book is a cliff hanger. I hate being forced to get another book just to finish the story. IF there had been a disclaimer of a non-ending, I would have been the choice to continue or not. I would have given this story the full five. I enjoyed reading it very much.

  • Ava

This is the romance between Una and Urgan💚

This book takes place in a world different than our own, where the orc race is superior. Una, a human woman, holds a disdain for orc kind. They killed her whole family, and she is now required to serve them. After a huge battle the general of the orcs, Urgan, takes notice of Una and wants her as his bride. Though terrified, Una agreed to him courting her. She has plans of her own, which may include trying to assassinate the leader of all orc kind.

This was so much fun! I could not put this down!!
I just thought this was an entertaining read, and my enjoyment of the story equals five stars.
I loved the tension and angst!! I was just waiting for these two to get together the whole time!
Cannot wait to read the next book in the series :)

BEWARE: this book ends on a cliffhanger!!

    TW: animal death, killing, blood

TROPES: bigger hero, fantasy romance, height difference, hero falls first, kindle unlimited, monster romance, orcs, roadtrip

    4 stars…
I liked it but I really don’t want to read this as a whole series so I’m probs not going to continue. I read the blurbs for the other two and they sound fine and it’s my fault for not realizing this trio was all about the same couple it that’s just not my cup of tea. Also I kind of hate Una so…

2/5 on spice. 3/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears. Una seems like an idiot

    Beautiful and wonderful book!

    Not your every day romance

I have to say, I’ve only recently joined the Orc bandwagon. So all of this is new to me and I don’t have a lot to compare it too.

That being said, it was still an enjoyable read. I like that the stereotypical character features were not here. The FMC was short, brown haired, brown/hazel eyes, and not lusted after by all. Which gave it a very realistic and relatable feel.

I like the twists, the agonist, the world building, and the depth and growth of the characters as they book starts all the way to how it ended. I have to say, I was very angry and hoping for a cure when one of my favorite animal sidekicks is killed off. It wasn’t fair and that’s the only negative I can say about the story line.

I do have to say the book switched from 3rd person to 1st person, smoothly, but it reveals the feeling of newness by the authors writing skills.

All in all, still a really good book, with great characters, and HEA.

    Urgan and Una's Story . . .

Urgan is a popular Orc General for the Imperator. In a clever move to prevent him from ever becoming powerful enough to overthrow the Imperator, he will force Urgan to marry his daughter Princess Urzulah, a vile female cruel to her servants and prone to temper tantrums, as soon as Urgan returns from battle. Urgan has no desire to marry her, so the best way to avoid this fate is to find a human mate instead.

Una is a human who plans to get to the Imperator and start a rebellion against the Orcs. When Urgan selects her and informs her he wants to court her and take her to the capital, she thinks this is her way of getting where she needs to be for the rebellion. But as they travel, each of them learns more about each other. Respect and trust begin to form so that when danger arises, they can face it together. The book ends on a cliffhanger so we will soon find out if Urgan’s marriage plans work out. Will they find out the real reason that each of them wanted this marriage?

    Spicy seasoning: light

FMC is in first person and MMC is in third person

Instalust and I’m talking like this book is over two-four days.

I’m working through books I purchased from a book box because I personally cannot DNF something I paid for. I realize I’m not supposed to like every character in existence but, I really do not like these characters because of their personalities.

Small set of worldbuilding but not enough to keep me invested in the series.

Okay I actually really loved this quick monster romance. Book 2 definitely has me excited for now. I need answers. Absolutely loving Una & Urgans story.

It was fun to see them start to like each other. It was also good to see that the conflict they had was fir a valid reason, they had been hiding things from eachother.

    ooooooh a promising start!!

I’ll never get tired of “vengeful human seeks to destroy her enemy but ends up falling in love instead” - I don’t know if that’s a “trope” or not but it’s addicting.

Human world was invaded by orcs (and other orc realm monsters) over a century ago and now, orcs mostly rule over what’s left. Orc empire is slowly conquering the more “feral” clans, feral clans which have been mistreating the much weaker humans. The General of the army conquering the clans learns that he’s going to be married to an odious orc princess so, instead, he chooses a human to elope with. During a handful of days journeying, Una (the human FMC) learns that are her opinions on orcs must be reshaped and that, wow, does she actually like her silver eyed orc general.

There’s a set up for overthrowing a orc king - which I’m not too sure off, considering this orc king supposedly has laws in place to somewhat protect humans and to unite all orcs so is he truly a bad ruler? BUT main MMC of this book could be a good ruler too, considering his lineage makes him more sympathetic to humans.

The thing that bothered me?? All FMC chapters are first person, all MMC chapters are third. It makes the male feel dumber, somehow, like he’s internally “Bob likes food. Bob wants truth. Bob fights good and doesn’t use the word I.” In reality, he’s not low intelligence at all.

All things considered, it’s a fast read. DEFINITELY a slow burn, considering there’s really only a finale of by-the-lake banging before the mild cliff hanger that the orc king wants him dead. I assume the rest of the trilogy features this inter-species couple figuring their relationship out and the continuing background plot of overthrowing the orc king.
2/5 spice, 2/5 fluff, BUT fairly solid world building.

    Characters: Una and Urgan
Spice rating: 🌶🌶🌶 out of 5

    Monster romance

This book kind of reminds of the dragon shifter series by Ruby Dixon, because these Orcs have come to be on Earth due to some tear in the universe.

Una is a server for these creators that are Orcs. She absolutely hates them because Orcs destroyed and murdered her family, she wants to get the Capital so she can kill Orcs and the leader.

Urgan is the Captain of his group and he is going to be pushed to marry a woman he doesn’t want, so he asks Una if she would be willing to mate with him and also marry him.

Both characters lied to each other in the beginning, Urgan got more upset about the lying then Una did, but he also has had a bad past of another woman using and lying to him. So I can understand why he was mad

I really liked this story, this story does end on a cliffhanger so be warned there are two other books to this series

  • Misty Ortman

This is Book 1 in The Silver Fury Series. It tells of how Urgan and Una end up together. Urgan is an Orc and the general in the Orc Imperator’s army. Una is a human slave that Urban decided he will court and make his wife so that he will not have to marry the Imperator’s daughter. Una has a different reason for agreeing to go with him, but things do not work out as planned for either of them. This is well written, with amazing, strong characters! The world building is very well done also! I am really looking forward to reading the next book!

Dude was lying and USING her but she does it and she is a lying-Mc Liar son. Seemed super hypocritical and could have been alleviated with her throwing that back at him when she found out so that they were then on an even playing field. It feels unbalanced but in a bad way. She is forced to play catch up the entire time and he just gets to sit on his lofty morals while not following them himself. It was irritating. A lot of originality though and the writing didn’t suck. I’ll pick up the next one to see where it takes them, I’m just not in a hurry to do so

  • Nina Diab

I enjoyed this book. It's only the second orc book I've ever read, and the first by this author. It was interesting and kept me turning those pages. Good world building; I liked the characters. Both Urgan and Una came to their arrangement each seeking to use the other for their own means, but as they went on their journey, it became something more that neither expected. This is book one and the plot ends in a cliffhanger. 4 stars.

  • Dawn Bade

This story starts out with a maiden on one mission that soon turns to another. Both of the main characters in this book change after being near each other. The more time they spend together the closer they get and understand each other more. It has plenty of heat to go along with the story and will not disappoint.

This is a spicy orc/fantasy romance.. I liked it.. It is intriguing and exciting, with wonderful characters.. I enjoyed the deeper look into Urgan, and that Una recognized that he was more than she had expected.

Not much depth to the characters in this quick read about a warrior orc and the woman that comes to love him. Perhaps we learn more about their backstory in book 2. It you are looking for a quick fantasy romance with vicious creatures that are pure alpha then this book is for you.

The first book in the Silver Fury series. Urgan and Una's story has suspense, danger, and villains. There was just not enough depth to this story, and it ends on a cliff-hanger. I will read the next book to see what happens, and how it is written. This is a new Author to me. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
