The Story End or Does it?
I finished the third book in the Stone Church series by Robert Carlson. In it the author brings to a close the journey that began in volume 1. The lives of the main characters come together in a way that concludes their individual and group stories. Stone Church is a place described as a commune, yet I was left with a feeling that if the author wished ---he could construct several new works about these interesting characters, focusing on their Individual futures and their legacies.
The setting of this series appears to take place in the late 1970's and having lived through that period I enjoyed many of the references and descriptions of events in the book. So many of the same struggles of these characters and their search for identity and meaning are relevant to contemporary times and events. They reminds me that much of what we see today existed before and through these characters we get a glimpse of how they were addressed in the past. These are a good foundation for giving us some ideas and ways to address them today and in the future.
This is a great series for anyone who might want to remember the 1970's Or someone who might want to discover it for the first time. It's enjoyable and interesting and I hope you'll consider visiting Stone Church.
