This was exactly what you need if you're trying to create your own IP and merch stuff and NOT tread on BIG [SF/Super Hero brand]. Covers everything from concept to branding to trade shows. Zippily written with examples and illustrations. Great guide!

Thank you to Carol Pinchefsky, Red Wheel/Weiser, LLC and Goodreads...I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway.
I did enjoy the book and it's very easy to follow. Though while I did pick up some good tips, I do feel that sometimes the suggestions in this book might still be a risky decision for business owners. Again, I feel that there are many great tips in this book for starting, or growing, a business. But I still feel that some of the tips given for getting around certain IP's might still be risky.
But still a fun book to read to gain some tips and insights into the geeky fandom business world. -
I was not the reader this book was intended for. Hard to rate due to this. Down and dirty helpful book to get people started, especially for "geektrepreneurs."

It was an easy read and picked up some good info, but not quite what I had expected when I picked it from my neighborhood public library. Let's go with 3.5 stars.
