Brielle, my little sister’s best friend was that ghost. We’d had a secret fling the summer before I left, a friends with benefits relationship, no strings attached. Despite that my feelings for her grew. Now I find out that she is now a mother. The woman I had crushed on for years was someone else’s woman and I had no one to blame but myself, after all, I’d left her here.
Only the joke was on me, Brielle didn’t have another man’s child, she had my child. A child I’d known nothing about. How could she not have told me? I didn’t know if I should have been angry or excited….because bottom line was, I was a Dad.
S.L. Sterling’s Doctor Desire is a surprise baby, steamy second chance heartfelt romance.
Doctors of Eastport General is a brand-new Contemporary Romance series. Get ready for all the naughty nurses, dirty doctors, and patient shenanigans that take place in Eastport General.

Received an ARC for honest review
The book started off strong and caught my attention. Then I got a little disturbed that Brielle did not learn her lesson the first time she ran away without communicating. Glad it all worked out but this book proves that communication is key no matter how difficult it is to face it. -
Had potential
So let’s start with the fact that she had her best friends brothers baby and no one knows. First of all, my kids look identical to their father as does Emma cause that’s mentioned in the story? And NO ONE guess who the dad was?? Okay. Second, the kid is 4 years old. The screaming through the night and still needing a diaper bag cause she needs a diaper still? Also, letting the kid scream and cry for her dad and denying her the chance to see him because of your ego? Then it took weeks to even talk to him again but all the sudden you’re like let’s move in together after that?? This whole story was just too much. I was looking forward to this series but I wouldn’t read another book if you paid me. I read this because it was so short but I skipped so many pages. Honestly it was a more “let’s see how much more ridiculous this can get” type of reading. Don’t waste your time. -
Amazing story of second chances. Brie and Sawyer had a wonderful summer together 4 years prior which resulted in a little girl named Emma. Emma never told Sawyer and he found out when they came into the emergency room for Emma. They had to work through the past memories and hope they can move forward.
-
Who doesn’t love a second chance romance??!! Young love going on with their lives and reconnecting years later. The spark is still there between Sawyer and Brielle but will secrets and insecurities kept them apart? Or bring them closer together? Read this to find out.

"I never wanted to be apart from you." ~ Sawyer
Doctor Desire by S.L. Sterling | Doctor's of Eastport General
3.5 Maple Leafs
⏤
Sawyer and Brielle connected at a party five years ago and spent the summer secretly in each other's arms and then went their separate ways. Five years later, Sawyer has returned to Eastport to find out that Brielle has been keeping a big secret from him all these years.
Sawyer and Brielle have some explosive chemistry. I love how mature Sawyer is about everything and does the right thing. Brielle is a very protective mom but I did not like how she made the mistakes but did not give people the benefit of the doubt. The book is a quick read that jumps timelines that thankfully warns about the jump.
I do enjoy how S.L. Sterling can write a novella-length book and you do not feel like you missed anything in the story.
Doctor Desire is a... medical, best friend's brother, friends-with-benefits, surprise child, second chance romance told in the dual first-person point-of-view.

Love Their Steamy Intensity
Okay. Some honesty, here. The title of this book makes me cringe. It's the kind of title that I would want to make sure nobody saw me reading. I don't have a problem with people knowing I read romance, but this title seems to go back to the dark ages of romance, when you lost IQ points every time you read one. ;)
Thank heavens the storyline is soooooo much better than the title. This is not a throwback, caveman-style, "throbbing member" read like the title might imply. In fact, it's a very modern look at a few tough situations and the choices we make. Because Brielle and Sawyer had a secret friends-with-benefits arrangement several years ago, just before he moved out of town. Neither one of them knew at the time he left she was pregnant. Brielle's decisions have since shaped more lives than just her own.
The best part of this story is definitely the intensity these two have. Holy steam sauna, these two have that amazing chemistry we all wish for. Their passion is fiery and fierce. So is "mama bear" Brielle when she realizes her little family of two is faced with changes.
Sawyer is a great character. Not perfect, but a man that knows what he wants and knows what's right, and he won't be swayed. He's wired to be a dad (such a swoon-worthy trait), and it's a beautiful thing to experience through this story. -
This was a quick read with a surprise child and second chances
Brielle and Sawyer’s story was endearing. They had issues communicating with each other and allowed assumptions to solidify decisions. They were good together when they were able to open up to each other. Sawyer maturing and taking his role as a father was sweet.
About the book:
I’d spent the last five years learning from some of the best doctors and surgeons so I could further my career. I’d also spent that time homesick and missing the only place I’d ever call home. When Eastport General Hospital offered me a position I took it. I was so happy to be returning home, but returning home met revisiting the ghosts of my past.
Brielle, my little sister’s best friend was that ghost. We’d had a secret fling the summer before I left, a friends with benefits relationship, no strings attached. Despite that my feelings for her grew. Now I find out that she is now a mother. Best- friend's brother secret pregnancy romance! Well written and entertaining
Best friends' bother, secret romance, surprise pregnancy and a second chance romance are all covered in Doctor Desire. It is now Dr Sawyer's turn!
Five years ago Brielle and Sawyer had a secret summer fling, it was never only supposed to be a one night stand but things escalated into a summer fling. They both developed feelings for each other but neither told the other how they were really feeling. Brielle was making plans to go off to study to be a lawyer soon and Sawyer was already packed and waiting until the day set to leave and go off to medical school.
They did not remain in contact and Brielle never asked her best friend for him. She realized she was pregnant and rather than upset his career plans, she kept it all to herself.
Now Sawyer has returned and wants some answers about the little girl, but most of all he wants a relationship with Brielle. Can he convince her that he is the one for her and let them be a united family?
Doctor Desire is well written and entertaining. The connection between these two then and now is on fire! This was my first S L Sterling book and I will definitely be looking for more.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Realistic -

Brie and Sawyer burned hot and fast. They kept their romance secret from Brie’s BFF and Sawyer’s sister Diane, so that when it all fell apart no one knew the truth. Four years later Sawyer returns to Eastport and finds Brie in the ER with a little girl with his dark hair and he starts immediately wondering if she is his daughter. Life starts to come together for Brie and Sawyer as a couple and as parents until the next miscommunication. Love is not an easy road for every couple.
I enjoyed S. L. Sterling’s Doctor Desire. There is something about a second chance romance especially when a baby is involved that pulls on my heart strings. S. L. Sterling creates a well thought out world, with an easy to read storyline, and likable characters that make this book a quick and easy read. Doctor Desire is part of the larger Doctors of Eastport General series. I’m looking forward to finding some new authors by reading this series. 😉 -
This is a wonderful story, the story of Brielle also called brie and Sawyer.
They have known each other for a long time because Brie is his sister's best friend.
Sawyer leaves town after years to become a doctor. Not knowing that when they had a brief summer affair he left behind more than just Brie.
When they meet again after years in the hospital where he is a doctor and sees her with a little girl. I won't tell you how it goes, but if you are curious, I advise you to read the book. The storyline and its structure as well as the characters and their characters are well worded and described. It is an emotional story and a second chance story at the same time. And while it's packed with emotion and secrets, one thing that really stands out is the chemistry and attraction between them that still shine through even after the years of not seeing each other.

A secretive relationship, an unplanned pregnancy, and miscommunications
Another installment in the Doctors of Eastport General series.
Brielle and Dr. Sawyer McKay start a summer affair, but when the summer ends, Sawyer leaves for his internship across the country. When Brie realizes she is pregnant a miscommunication keeps her from telling Sawyer.
Fast forward four years when Emma, the ‘oops baby’ ends up in Sawyers emergency room. Emma didn’t know he moved back home, but he realizes right away that Emma could be his daughter.
More miscommunications, until Sawyers sister, Diane, who is also Bries best friend, helps them to fix their issues.
Sawyer, Brie, and Emma get their happy ending.
This series is full of love stories that can be read in one or two sittings, and so far each couple has good chemistry. -
Doctor Desire starts out with Brie & Sawyer having some fun during the summer before he leaves home to build his medical career. They're certainly hot together, but something happens that makes her cut ties with him without giving him the reason why. Fast forward some years, and it's her little girl's 4th birthday as Brie is now a single mother. Sawyer finally gets hired at Eastport General so he could come home, and an accident with Emma (Brie's tiny human) has him coming face to face with Brie for the first time & it doesn't go so well. This was a short(ish) read that I loved so much, and I believe you'll feel the same after you hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sawyer and Brielle agreed to spend the summer to extinguish the chemistry between them and then they would go their separate ways as not only were their lives taking them in different directions but they didn’t think that her best friend and his sister would approve of them being together.
Five years later Sawyer returns to his hometown to take a position at Eastport General and finds out that Brielle has been keeping the fact that he is a father from him. Will this be their second chance or will their past be too much to overcome?
The chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever so even though they had a few challenges to overcome they proved that they were meant to be together. -
Brielle thought her little secrets and lies would stay in the past...but they didn't!! Sawyer and Brielle had complications from the disease assumptionitis!! Very dangerous and seemed to be contagious along with accusationitis from her side and his. And who was caught in the middle? Little Emma! I did like how she pulled herself up from not just being another deadbeat mother but actually took charge and made something for and of herself. Her mother had me SMH several times with the stuff that came out of her mouth...like SHE did everything perfect. Kudos to her BFF for just rolling with the news that was dropped along with Sawyer's parents.

Brie and Sawyer were having a secret relationship just before he went off to start his career as a doctor. They were supposed to stay in touch, but a misunderstanding had them ending things. Now a few years later he is back in town working as a doctor when he runs into Brie and her daughter when there's an emergency with her daughter. Sawyer knew by her ago that she was their child. Will Sawyer be able to forgive her for not telling him about their child? Can they have a second chance?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Part of the Doctors of Eastport General series, this standalone book will set your kindle on fire. The hot first scene sets the very tone for this book. Brielle and Sawyer are having a summer romance in secret because Sawyer is Brielle's Best friend Diane's brother. Then you are fast forwarded a few years to Brielle's daughters birthday, and shortly after that a playground accident that puts Sawyer and Brielle in the same room again after all the time. I will say Sawyer handled everything with grace and maturity and that's what really made this story for me! A second chance romance worth the read!

Doctor Desire
By S.L. Sterling
Main Characters: Sawyer and Brielle
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
This was a quick read of about 107 pages. The author really packs a lot of emotion and chemistry into these shorter books than you would expect. This is a second chance secret baby romance. Brielle is Sawyer's best friend's little sister and she has had a crush on him for a long time. They decide to have a fling just before Sawyer leaves to become a doctor. Flash forward a few years and Sawyer comes back to Eastport General and runs into Brie. Loved the book and I love this author's writing. -
Brielle had a fling with Swayer a few years before and left town. Only to return, to find she is a mother.
This is sweet, intense and dramatic. It's understandable Swayer doesn't know how to feel about things. I feel for him although Brielle had no way to let him know.
I enjoyed the passion that reignited once they got sorted. It was fiery for a while there but that only added to the relationship. Their closeness certainly came quickly.
This was a great story I enjoyed very much.
