After a cult tried to sacrifice me to their wicked God, I went on the run, doing whatever was necessary to survive. Until a demon offered me a deal: give him my soul and he'll help me claim the vengeance I seek. Blood will be spilled, and the monsters I once ran from will soon be running from me. But damning my soul was just the beginning - it's my heart the demon wants next.
Zane
I've been hunting souls for centuries, but she's the ultimate prize - vicious and feral, with a broken soul as dark as my own. I thought claiming her would be a simple game, but Juniper is far from simple. I chose to follow her on a path drenched with the blood of her enemies, but it's our blood that may be spilled next. As an ancient God wakes from Its slumber, neither of us may survive.
Her Soul for Revenge is book 2 in the Souls Trilogy. Although all the books are interconnected, they are stand-alone and can be read in any order.
Content Note
This book contains sexual scenes, kink/fetish content, horror elements, drug use, scenes of trauma, anxiety, and PTSD, and depictions of "hard" kink/edgeplay. A complete CW can be found in the frontmatter of the book.

Her Soul to Take ★★★★★
I really wanted to love this one the way i did the first book, but sadly that just was not the case. I still adore this author and everything they are writing to make people feel more empowered and showing lots of different ways to reclaim things. I really think they are doing really important things in romance and i have a lot of respect for them.
This story is told mostly at the same time as book one, just with two side characters from that book, and i feel like stories like that never really work the best for me. Even though this completely stands on its own, and has its own very different plot points and points of view of what is going on during this time!
Again, just the themes of reclaiming and healing from your trauma in different ways is really powerful and i can’t wait to read everything from this author. <3
Content Warnings from the author:
This book contains sexual scenes, kink/fetish content, horror elements, drug use, scenes of trauma, anxiety, and PTSD, and depictions of "hard" kink/edgeplay.
other cw/tw i found while reading:
Murder, death, cult depiction, a lot of blood depiction, a lot of bad parenting in the past with abandonment and neglect, panic attacks, loss of a loved one, human sacrifice, use of plan b, hospital settings in the past, talk of medical debt, talk of needles, unwanted touching, assault, talk of cannibalism, torture, drugging, vomiting, and grief and depression depiction.
i also highly recommend
my friend leigh's review for trigger and content warnings!

For The Love of Lucifer Five Stars (If I could give more, I would)
Her Soul For Revenge is a masterpiece. Mic drop, the author rough her A-game and killed it!!! Her Soul To Take Should be read first, as this book runs along the same timeline, and you will have a better understanding of events.
As much as this book is one of my most anticipated books of the year for me, I was worried about it being around the same timeline, details would be left out or changed. Rest assured, I should have known better with the author. She went into such great detail and didn’t change a thing.
The book starts with Juniper six years before the present, and what an intense start. Luckily, she survived and ran, only to return and seek revenge on those who wronged her and her family. Leon stalks Juniper for years, eagerly waiting for that moment to make a deal for her soul.
“A good hunter tracks his prey,” I said, “and waits for just the right moment to take his prize
Never underestimate our girl Juniper, she is strong, sassy, puts up with nothing, and is murderous. She has been in survival mode for years and going from place to place.
Zane is everything, (sorry Leon) he is a hot, cocky, smooth talker, sadomasochistic, and just met his match.
“I haven’t even begun to wreck you, girl. You think you won this round? You’ve only made me crave breaking you more.” She grinned, flipping me off from the floor. “I’ve already wrecked you, demon boy. Round one goes to me.”The chemistry between Zane and Juniper is explosive. It made all my lady parts tingle. (I will have to take that out for a retail review). Like I wanted a cigarette after they had sex or been a fly on the wall.
Go on and bite me,” he growled. “Fucking bite me like you mean it.” God, his words got me hot. I bit down, hard, hard enough to have broken a mortal man’s fingers. But it only made Zane more vicious, it made him groan in pleasure as he fucked into me at a punishing pace. This book is intense, wicked, dark, and what a wild ride. I had to brace myself a time to two. It’s well written, I have said this before, and It still holds true, what a vivid Imagination that the author articulates flawless through her writing. I love it when I can picture a whole world in front of me. We also have a glimpse of Everely and the
perfect handoff to her book.
If you haven’t started this series and love spicy dark PNR, what are you waiting for? I highly recommend it. -
I’m so sad I didn’t love this as much as book 1. I wasn’t really into this couple and didn’t feel the chemistry as much. Juniper got on my nerves with how often she jumped into danger/death thinking she could handle things when she clearly couldn’t. She just kept getting herself and Zane hurt. The entire first half of the book was slow-moving and I had a hard time getting into the story until I got to the second half, which at least picked up the pace.
I was hoping we’d get more new content rather than a retelling of book 1 from different characters’ perspectives, but I can’t say that any of the new content had me excited. Knowing how things would end here took away the suspense a bit. The only parts I loved were the scenes with Callum and his witch - I’m still so excited for their book! He’s this incredibly powerful, high-ranking demon and he’s just putty in her hands. I need them!! -
➥ 4.5 Stars *:・゚✧
I squat down, glaring into her smug, beautiful face. “I haven’t even begun to wreck you, girl. You think you won this round? You’ve only made me crave breaking you more.”
She grinned, flipping me off from the floor. “I’ve already wrecked you, demon boy. Round one goes to me."

Reread this last night so now you all get a proper review 😘. Ask me how much I'd pay for her to call me 'demon boy'. She's so? This book was absolutely fabulous, as expected. Harley Laroux continues to blow my expectations out of the water. Although Leon still remains my fav mans, my girl Juniper can get it any time.
This book does not take place after the first book, it is about Juniper and Zane during the plot of the first book. So, you see all the events that took place in the first book through a different lense and through different character involvement. I absolutely (unsurprisingly) loved it. I love this world so much and the characters are just perfect. I 100% recommend you check trigger warnings when looking to read this series, and it is a dark romance, but I never felt weighed down by the intensity. Rather, it had it's steaming hot, to die for moments, but also had the most perfect romance. I also really appreciate when dark romance still makes use of safewords. Juniper and Zane's safeword is 'mercy'; super cute, and it's integrated perfectly.“As if you want me to be nice,” she ground out the words, snarling furiously as she thrashed beneath me. She was right — this was exactly how I liked her. Righteously angry, proudly in denial that every choice she made was bringing her closer to what she so desperately wanted: a good hard fuck.
I secured her wrists firmly against her back in my hand, and dragged my claws across her shoulders. She hissed at the sting and her hips bucked up, wedging nicely between my legs and right up against my balls. “What do we say if we want it to stop, Juniper?” I prodded, making sure she was still grasping logic and not losing herself in the struggle. “Tell me. Tell me now, or we don’t play.”
She grit her teeth, panting for a moment from the effort of fighting against me. “Mercy,” she finally whispered.
I liked knowing that although the sex was raunchy as fuck, the men absolutely respected, cared for, and loved their women. I never felt like their desires or true intentions were degrading or derogatory towards the fmc.➥ Juniper (h) ugh she's so hot. I'm so beyond glad that Harley Laroux chose to write a strong female main character this time. Especially since my main qualm with the first book was that the fmc was pretty weak and silly. I love Juniper in this book and how she gave as much as she took. I liked how it pumped up the tension between her and Zane because it felt like they were on even playing field. I hope we get more fmcs that put up a fight from HL <3
She rocked forward and back, fucking herself on the weapon. When I looked down at her face, lying against the floor, she smiled at me wickedly. “You wish it was your dick,” she said, running her tongue over those soft, perfect lips. “But I can still come on my gun. It doesn’t make a difference to me.”
➥ Zane (H), of course I enjoyed his character. How could I not? He is a little more on the degrading preference side which isn't what get's me the hottest if I'm being honest. You get quite a lot of the "you little sick slut" which, again, isn't really my thing. But, for being something I'm not really into, Zane executed it really well. My problem with phrases like that is that I usually can't take the character seriously when they say things like that, but Zane...yeah I took him seriously HAHA <3 He was a gentleman and sweetheart when he wanted to so 😌💗 and his petname for Juniper towards the end is "love" 😭😭😭 (so much better than bbg). Oh, and he has, not one, but two tounge piercings on each side of his forked tongue 😌.
I knelt down and kissed her hands. “Just this one time, Juniper. Lay down your weapons, and let me use mine.”
And he's funny too!! 😭😭😭
“Hello, little demon. Do you submit to death?” (bad guys)
I sighed heavily. “No, unfortunately, I don’t. Actually, I’d like to lodge a complaint. Killing me is...uh...severely uncalled for.”
I don't really think I have anything else to say. I just feel the need to emphasise that I really believed Juniper and Zane's love story. It wasn't just smut to me and I really do believe they're so in love. Although both Zane and Juniper are often very intense, they each have their soft moments where you can tell that they're just bestfriends while also being lovers. He picked up a French Maid costume, encased in a plastic bag. “These costumes look like lingerie.”
“Yeah. That’s kind of the point.” He grinned. “You should buy this one.”
I scoffed. “You should. I’d look ridiculous.”
“Fuck, I’d look hot as hell in this,” he said. “And I’d still dick you down good. Demon maid at your service.” He thrust his hips, and the image of him doing that dressed as a maid almost broke me.
“God, stop. Please.” I had to turn away because I was trying too hard not to laugh. But I quickly added, “Buy it in your size, but you are not wearing it to the party.”
The way my girl Juniper was all "touch him and i'll kill you" and Zane just wanted to be babied please 😭😭💗 (this is from his perspective).I leaned into her. Her arms tightened around me.
“What the fuck did you do to him?” Her voice was vicious. “You said he wouldn’t be hurt, Everly!”
“He’s fine.” I could hear the eyeroll in the Archdemon’s words. “He’s just being dramatic.”
I was being dramatic, yes. But I’d gotten Juniper to be all soft over me as a result, and that was immensely satisfying.
Also, did I mention that Zane's hot? Because he definitely is. I love how he's so chill and unbothered HAHA (although Leon executes that personality the best) but ugh, still, he's so hot.I stood over her, her wide eyes defiant and terrified as they looked up, and I smiled with a mouthful of sharp teeth. “Run.”
Like...She fired the gun. The bullet struck my shoulder. It felt like nothing more than a pinch. I looked down at the wound curiously, poking my finger in to dig out the bullet. She watched, in horror, as I dropped the bloodied bit of metal onto the ground.
“My, my, so flirtatious.” I chuckled. “Do that again, Juniper, and I might think you want to play.”
He's so cute <33. Now I'm gonna quote dump because idk what else to say. Enjoy! His mouth pressed to mine and my lips parted for him, drinking in his taste like it was the first shot of whiskey on a cold night. He squeezed my throat as he kissed me, his nails digging into my skin, far sharper than I’d expected. His tongue moved against mine, and I could feel the smooth, rounded metal of a tongue piercing — not one but two — and gave a soft moan as he bit my lip. Breathless, our mouths parted, but only so he could whisper, “Aww, did you really think I’d be that gentle?”
・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.“I really hate that disguise. It’s such a fucking bother. But if I didn’t use it, all you humans would be running away from me, screaming.” He paused. “Oh, wait...I like it when you run and scream.”
・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.“Oh God,” she moaned, and I could feel the extra resistance as I pressed the gun into her, her walls tightening. “I’m...I’m gonna come…” Like hell she was. I jerked her up from the floor and slammed her onto her back. “Don’t you dare call for God,” I snarled. “It’s my name you’re going to be crying.” I slid the gun away, and it skid across the tile as I tore open my jeans, practically ripping the fabric. She was giggling — the wind was knocked out of her but she was fucking giggling at me. I tossed away her jeans and shredded her panties, laying her bare.
・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. (her giggling that he couldn't resist has me dead)He entered me fully, leaning over me as my legs shook and I gasped, breathless at the stretch of having all of him inside me. “There’s my girl,” he growled in my ear, with a sudden hard, cruel thrust into me. “You take the pain so fucking well.” I was so full, but my pussy was aching for him. It was swollen, dripping with need as he said sweetly, “Spread your legs for me again, love. I’m going to make you come.”
・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.I was too high on pain, still drowning in pleasure. It was easier just to growl at him, and snap at his hand like a feral thing, than to manage words. But he dodged my bite and came back harder, smiling wide as he hooked two fingers in my mouth. “Go on and bite me,” he growled. “Fucking bite me like you mean it.” God, his words got me hot. I bit down, hard, hard enough to have broken a mortal man’s fingers. But it only made Zane more vicious, it made him groan in pleasure as he fucked into me at a punishing pace.
・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.She moaned, shaking as she leaned back heavily against me. “Fuck, fuck, I’m gonna come —”
“There’s my good girl,” I murmured, keeping my pace steady, holding her tight as she gasped. “Come for me, love.”
・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.He eased me down, tucking back my hair as I closed my eyes and caught my breath. He caressed my thighs, touching softly where they stung, and leaving gentle kisses over my hot skin. “Fucking beautiful,” he murmured. “So beautiful.” And I actually felt like I was.
I love them sfm 😭💗 everyone say thankyou harley laroux for writing such masterpieces. <3 Can't wait for the third book!!━━━━━━━━━━━ ♡ ━━━━━━━━━━━

This author continues to make me realize I have a dirty mind ngl
I'm dedicating this for all of you having the same reaction as me 🥰
Ok I’m just gonna mention a few pg-13 points first
⌏ The development Harley Laroux has done within one year is INTENSE. I loved The Dare and Her soul to take, don’t get me wrong, but she’s upped her game profoundly and I can’t wait to see her future works
⌏ This book had no right to inflict so strong emotions in me as it did
⌏ Less insta-love this time, I’m always here for that
⌏ Leon, I’ll always love you. But both Zane and Juniper have officially stolen your spotlight and I’m not even sorry. And to be fair, Juniper is scarier than you are, maybe she can give you a crash course?
Okay, so now that’s over with -
Some books teach you about morals. Some about sorrow, anger, love, forgiveness, strength.
This book taught me I’m into vayjay penetration by ✨ s h o t g u n s ✨, being slapped, called slut, and carved with a knife. Amongst other things."Say that again", he said. "Tell me what you want."
"Fuck me up." I smiled. "Just fucking wreck me."
Just Juniper having my exact response to Zane
This girl right here is the coolest and baddest bitch. You know in some books where the MC wants revenge but ends up being "the bigger person😌" and decides to kill them with kindness? You won't see that shit here. Remorse? Doubt? Selflessness? Forget it.
And the way Zane and Juniper is the perfect couple?? I'm so jealous tbh
Let’s be real tho, the most shocking part about this book isn’t the gun or knifeplay, it’s how Juniper goes jogging three days after being half ripped to shreds. That's it, I literally have no excuses left to skip out on the gym
Not gonna say anything else, I know that everyone who loved the first book is gonna read this, and when you have I'm here to fangirl next beside you.
And for everyone who gets a little intrigued, I'm pointing you in the direction of Leon and Rae, welcome 💕 -
3.5⭐️
I liked being in Zane’s head a bit too much, that little sick fuck.
This book is definitely smuttier than the first one. But most importantly it included more information about demons and how they live.
I loved meeting new ones and learning more about Hell. Yes, I said that. Never thought I would.
It was repetitive at times because the timeline is exactly the same as the first book. Although, I loved seeing my baby daddy Leon again👅
The ending was suddenly so cute lmao and hot👀
Her Soul To Take review -
i didn’t like this couple as much as the other one, idk why but something just wasn’t doing it for me.
-
This rating hurts me a lot and even tho i knew, 𝐈 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐖 i wasn't gonna loves this as much as 𝐇𝐒𝐓𝐓 because 𝐈 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃 𝐋𝐄𝐎𝐍 so so much. Like a very unhealthy amount especially his relationship with Rae it was just perfect, they were exactly what the other needed and wanted. The kinks and games were my undoing and I'm still looking for 𝐌𝐘 𝐎𝐖𝐍 forked tongue demon btw, but even knowing that i didn't think i would feel like this. I'm really not okay and very much in denial right now..
]|I{•---------⋘⋙---------------•⪼⦕࿅⦖⪻•---------------⋘⋙---------•}I|[
Some clarification first, we briefly meet Zane and Juniper in 𝐇𝐒𝐓𝐓 just enough to tease us about this book and frankly 𝐈 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐃 Zane a lot. As in enough to want a threesome between Him, Leon and Rae and that is 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 coming from me because i deteste random threesome when it's not a 𝐑𝐇 𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐞 situation. But in 𝐇𝐒𝐓𝐓 i really would've loved an 𝐌𝐌𝐅 scene, and maybe it's because Zane and Leon were lovers once upon a time and are still wearing the others mark but i loved the idea. So yeah i really do love me some Demon Zane.
Now the reason for my rating, at the end of 𝐇𝐒𝐓𝐓 we know that him and Juniper are a thing and i didn't really like that because 𝐈 𝐃𝐈𝐃𝐍'𝐓 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐑. I don't know why or what made me dislike her that much so don't ask me i really don't have an answer for you, but i did and that's why it took me 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 to read this. I had to wait until my brain would let go of all the thoughts i had of her so i could enjoy some Sexy Zane Read, and i finally did. I went in this with a clean slate but unfortunately 𝐈 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋 felt the same way about her. Actually it was worse this time because we didn't have her for just two scenes and unfortunately too much of her made her 𝐒𝐎 𝐅#𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐘𝐈𝐍𝐆 to me.
]|I{•---------⋘⋙---------------•⪼⦕࿅⦖⪻•---------------⋘⋙---------•}I|[
Now don't get me wrong the smut and sexy times were 𝐆𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐋𝐘 𝐃𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐘 despite my dislike of Juniper. This is 100% it's me, not you situation, so future reader that sees this review dont mind me, give this book a chance. Cause this story 𝐖𝐚𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤, 𝐖𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝, 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐲, 𝐄𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜, 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐲, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 but it didn't hit me as hard as it should have because of my off putting feelings towards Juniper.
I applauded and admired Harley Laroux for her boldness when it came to the steamy scenes in 𝐇𝐒𝐓𝐓 and she delivered again in this book. The plot was a bit more developed here and the story was as entertaining as 𝐇𝐒𝐓𝐓 with even more violence, murder and a lot of emotional moments. Even tho the pacing was a bit slower at moment and we did have some repetitive dialogue that irritated me a little, it wouldn't have ruined this story for me if it wasn't already.
Zane here proved to me why i loved him so much after only reading two short scenes. He was almost as perfect as my Leon, 𝐇𝐞'𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐱𝐲, 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬, 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜, 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤, 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭 in him called to the Masochist in me. He was amazingly well written and very entertaining but 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧. Thankfully a certain Archdemon and Witch will be next.. -
Her Soul to Take blew my mind when I read it two months ago. To say my expectations were high for Her Soul For Revenge would be an understatement. Laroux absolutely nailed this story to perfection. She had already laid a pretty solid foundation with book 1 and I was one hundred percent invested with these characters and in this paranormal world of hers.
In Her Soul For Revenge it’s the survivor Juniper and her journey for revenge the reader follows. She sells her soul to the demon Zane for the purpose of him helping her getting revenge over those people who’s wronged her.
There’s a price for making a deal with a demon and Zane has his conditions. He and Juniper were so much fun. Blazing hot chemistry and spectacular sex scenes. I thought the ones in book 1 were amazing but Laroux takes it up a notch. Chef’s kiss! They suited Juniper and Zane’s personality and they had to be dark, bloody and intense. Most important they’re consensual.
Her Soul For Revenge is a dark paranormal romance and it’s definitely dark but it’s also emotional. Laroux strips the layers of Juniper and Zane meticulously. Juniper is broken and has endured so much loss and pain. She’s a survivor and a fighter. Living a solitary life until her deal with Zane. Her progress and evolution was sublimely written. How can a demon be vulnerable and show emotions? Zane can and do thanks to Laroux. Zane goes through a change too and I enjoyed his sarcastic remarks, dark dominant side but also him being vulnerable and turning the power over to Juniper in their relationship. These two opposites truly saw each other, was accepting and it was beautiful.
With Her Soul For Revenge I can already say that The Souls trilogy is a favorite of mine.
This is just dark paranormal romance to perfection. Phenomenal. Whenever I hear the word demon I will always think of a forked pierced tongue. No complaints here.
5 Fierce as a Little Wolf Stars
*ARC provided by the author* -
3 Little Wolf Stars ⭐️
I feel almost dirty giving this book the 3 Star rating because I know that it's entirely me and my expectations that's the problem and not the book.
I thought before reading this that there were only two directions a book could take when the plotline is rewritten from the perspective of new characters. The first is perfect, it gives the reader a whole new outlook on the story while keeping it fresh and exciting. The second is the road "not" worth taking - the added "nuggets" of insight into the new perspective are not worth reading 400pg worth of a new book. I am surprised to say there is now a third direction - where you get a 50:50 mismatch of the two. On the one hand, you're left breathless and on the other, still trying to reach that release that never comes.
I think I had psyched myself up too much for expecting a perfect retelling as I really LIKED the first book. It was such a perfect and great balance between the sex and plot and the plot KEPT ME SOOO HOOKED! But for Revenge, I found myself not really caring about almost anything. The plot felt very repetitive, and not just because we were repeating the same timeline but because a lot of the kink, characterisation and "smart mouth" dialogue was just almost rinsing and repeating Leon and Rae. While I really did enjoy the banter and sex, I guess I wanted more "newness" or aspects uncovered in the plot, but these were never delivered. I already knew what was gonna happen, every twist and turn was already done and mapped out and there was nothing amazing added (besides an epic nightclub)
I have absolutely no connection with Juniper, she is so one-dimensional and driven by "one thing and one thing only" and that is her anger which is her major motivation for revenge. I understand that she has been through a lot and she has had so much thrown upon her and while there are glimpses of those scars and the damage that was done; besides her being afraid and then being angry, there’s nothing really in between her personality. She also never really works through her anger much, besides through bloody stabby stab-stab and "spank me harder" Daddy, often both at the same time. I am not here to judge a girl on her therapy being "painful pleasure" but I wanted more of an emotional working through her damage. Hence why I AM THE PROBLEM, as this would be amazing if you are happy to read about a girl who just wants that hard physical pounding that almost miraculously solves her trauma because she had a couple of intense demonic-induced orgasms
Zain is something. While I was ridiculously attracted to his cocky mouth and I really want to run my tongue over his snake eyes. The only thing he has going for him is that cocky mouth, and without it, he is a total Leon carbon copy. Same kinks, same possessive traits that make them tick, same sexy drive to put a piercing into their lady and I’ve seen that already in Her Soul to Take so seeing it all again didn’t really do it for me
These books can be read out of order, and I feel if I had read this one first, I'd have probably liked this one more and not enjoyed Her Soul to Take. They are just very much the same and because I have already got that enjoyment from before; I’ve been there and done that, so I didn’t need to do it again. I might have set unattainable expectations by wanting a deeper story because of the same timeline... But I know I AM THE PROBLEM.
So I would recommend this IF you’re going into this for the dark demonic-inspired story with a fair few dirty scenes. This does cover more of the demonic lore and less of the witchcraft side so if you have read neither - toss a coin because both Zane and Leon will take you on a fun ride the first time!
Her Soul to Take - ★★★★☆ -
four point five stars! ・゚✧
oh my god. this book is amazing. i don’t know what to say. both books were so good.
— juniper was such a badass and her attitude was *chef kiss*. she can protect herself and knows how to kill someone, which is refreshing to read. there's not that many books where the fmc is independent and doesn't rely on anyone and juniper exceeded my expectations. her back story was fun to read about.”when she stabbed me, fuck, i nearly came then and there.”
— zane was also incredible hot but im sorry, my baby, leon is better. i loved his povs, the way he spoke about juniper had me jealous. he stalked her for YEARS because he thought she was intriguing. zane was one horny mf. the first time they did it, it went quick and wasn’t all that necessary. there was definitely more sex in this book than the other but the sex was done way better in the first book.
when they went to zane's home (the demon hut), i liked that a lot, it spoke about the supernatural more and how things work about his world. the ending was enjoyable. loved when they both needed help from everly and we got some insite on callum’s and everly’s relationship. i can already tell im going to love that book. can’t wait for their book to be released cause i will eat that shit up. -
I was so excited when I got this ARC in my email because I wanted to know the journey of Zane and Juniper since the last book and it did not disappoint!! Reminder Harley post triggers in her book or IG I also posted them below if you wanna see what is in the book!! I do recommend reading her soul to take to get more info on the events happening!!!
Timeline this sorta takes place few years before Rea moves back to town... Juniper my badass queen!!! that girl has been put through the ringer!! Thinking she had friends and turns out she was being used by the family to be sacrifice to the "god" but we know she escaped and still being haunted by the darkness. Trying to stay alive all these years she ran into Zane ZANE HE HAS TOPPED LEON FOR ME GUYS!!! who has been sorta stalking her from afar he's heard about her from Leon as the girl who got away.. and he wants her her Soul calls to him he's just waiting for her to make the first move. They have this amazing chemistry and you'll get jealous of it because they were so perfect together and now that Juni is back in town she gives her mine, Body and soul to Zane for one reason Revenge.. she wants those who have wronged her to pay what better way then to have a Demon by her side. And boy when these two make their soul deal.. FUDGE ME!!! talk about primal play in the woods..tike to take out the trash and it's dangerous and dark and couple times my heart went pitter padder thinking something might take these two away from eachother.
We also have a delicious piercing scene and Harley I love these scenes and you keep making them hotter.

I am so very thankful Harley sent me a copy of her new title, Her Soul for Revenge. This is what I needed tbh. A Harley book!!! Her romances never let me down and I seriously fall harder and harder for her romance heroes each and every time I finish one of her books. This is the perfect book to read on Halloween at midnight... An horror romance with demons, gore, blood and sex? Sign me up.
She's the girl who survived. The girl who was the sacrifice for a God. The girl who ran. Juniper has been running for her life for years, but when she hears the news of her brother's murder, she goes back to that little town that hurt her the most. She has the scars to prove it. Before she goes head to head with the bad guys, with the people who hurt her, she needs help and it comes in the form of a delicious, sexy demon. So, yeah, she sells him her soul for revenge.
Revenge, pain, survival— they're all the roots of this novel. They rule Juniper's life in a way that she sees nothing aside from them. She doesn't care about anything but revenge and her anger. And I wanted that for her. I wanted to get everything she wanted in the world, I wanted her to murder everyone who wronged her and who hurt her and who tried to eliminate her. Juniper is a force to be reckoned with!!!! I loved her with my whole heart and I love more her murder-y ways.
But the way she finds her other half in someone just as murder-y as her.... CHEF KISS!!! They're really meant to be. Both love pain kink, knife play, blood play, every single thing they love the other one also loves. So it's a match made in heaven... or Hell? *wink* Zane is a demon who has been following Juniper for years, making every single being know that she belongs to him. We do have a boy obsess with the heroine trope and it's so beautiful to see you don't even know.
What more can you find in this book?
♡ She stabs him, he gets hard!
♡ So much blood play you don't even know BLOODY KISSES
♡ They have the same chaotic energy
♡ Nasty, dirty, naughty public sex everywhere they go
Please read TW before reading, there are many things that might be triggering to readers. -
I won't extend myself with this review, because I've already extended myself to a whole new level with this book (two weeks, to be honest).
If i wasn't a moron, i would've DNF it and move on, but i can't do that and it's a fucking curse.
To be fair with the book, it wasn't entirely it's fault...
I'm in a funky mood, with lots of healthy issues going on in my life right now and I just couldn't concentrate on their story.
I was super excited about Zane and Juniper, i truly were! I loved their cameos on the previous book, but Zane ain't Leon and Juni although way better than Ray, she was kinda of repetitive.
The story is good... It goes along the timeline of HSTT and it shows lots of repetitive scenes from Zane and Juni's POV.
At some point it became filler and distracted me more than Hold my attention.
The end was full of action, blood and gore.
I will continue with the next one in the trilogy (hopefully in a better mood), because those books have a great potential and I kinda of dig their kinky.

“If the woods call your name, don’t answer. Run.”
Should I have reviewed this months ago, when I first read it? Yes. Am I going to try my best to do this book justice anyways, despite my terrible memory, because these characters and this series deserves the best? Also yes. I love this series and this world so damn much, and I think about these characters pretty much every day (mostly thinking about how badly I hope book 3 comes out soon, because I NEED IT).There are places on Earth that are cursed all the way down to their roots. Places that hold pain, that tasted blood and can’t get enough. Places where darkness grows, and even in daylight, they lie under a shadow.
As I mentioned in my review of Her Soul to Take, most romance books with horror themes don't hit it for me as a horror lover, but Harley Laroux gets it. The horror elements, the demon lore, the violence and descriptions of these awful beasties in the woods, all of it is so on point and I love it. It has the best folk horror vibes and I'm here for it always. If you're a horror lover who's considering trying out romance (or a romance lover who's considering trying out horror!), I genuinely feel like this series is a fantastic merging of the two.Survival is messy. Survival has no morals or kindness. Survival isn’t black and white, good versus evil. Survival is shades of red; it’s blood taken and blood lost.
Speaking of things Harley Laroux clearly "gets", I could gush for a long damn time about the PTSD and trauma rep in this book. Juniper's PTSD is beautifully well-written and I related to her so many times, so I loved this over-arching theme of healing on our own time, not being forced through it, and not being made to feel guilty for the ways in which we cope in the meantime. Zane adds so much to this, too; he's never Juniper's "savior", he's just there to help where he can, and to be there for her. Everyone needs someone like that in their life and I adored every single bit of dialogue between the two of them regarding her trauma and healing.Monsters were real and Gods were evil, so the world was already going to Hell, regardless of my weird sexual turn-ons.
One thing everyone should know going into this series, though, is that it's a remarkably dark and heavy read at times. The content warnings are extensive and some of them are a bit unusual. I love the way Harley writes BDSM in healthy relationships and how strong the focus is on consent and safety, but it's not for everyone—and there are some kinks explored in these pages (minor spoiler: ) that aren't going to fly with some readers. (Not sure what it says about me that I was so delighted by that particular scene, but it was cathartic and I cheered a little.)“Fix you? Ah, little wolf, I have no desire to fix you. I just want to see all your broken edges shine. I want to feel how sharp you are. ”
All of that aside, I could go on for another nine paragraphs about how much I love Zane and Juniper, how thoroughly Zane checks all my boxes for my favorite romance hero archetypes, how badass and brave Juniper is, or how invested I was in their romance, but I'll stop here and simply say that I truly hope more people check out this series and give Harley Laroux the love she deserves, because I am obsessed with the Souls trilogy and I NEED more of it in my life.

Head empty, no thoughts. Just Zane and Juniper and what a marvelous pair of bisexual psychopaths they are.

I liked book one, but this one was even better!
I love a fierce heroine. And a heroine who is dead set on revenge? Well, it just doesn't get any better. Except it does when that heroine sells her soul a sexy as hell with a pierced forked tongue demon and some kinky fuckery happens. What? I'm easy to please...mostly.
Now I am absolutely dying for book three, because GAH. Everly and Callum are everything!
Find me on:

So, I really really liked this.
Loved Juniper and Zane. They were both so fierce and amazing. It was a great story. Sexy, kinky, fast paced, violent, and dangerous.
5/5 stars.
P.S. I was a little sad that no tentacles came into play.... the cover had me very excited for them... -

A sadistic demon and the vengeful woman who sells her soul for revenge.
This kinky action packed story follows Juniper as she sells her soul to end the cult that tortured her and wanted to sacrifice her to a God. This story follows a broken woman who's only ever known how to fight and survive and who's not apologetic about her thirst for the blood of the people who wronged her. We follow her as she has to deal with Zane, a demon that makes Leon look like a cinnamon roll and who loves to see Juniper bathed in the blood of her enemies. We follow them as Juniper tries to fight her demons while also struggling with all the new feelings Zane is making her feel and also their banter and their hate fucking on every surface possible.
I really liked their relationship, not as much ad Raelynn and Leon because they're my babies, and how they fit so well together without wanting to make the other person change. When Zane starts to have feeling for her it was so fun to read because he was so confused! But also how willing to slaughter anyone who dared to touch his woman was *chef's kiss*. He was obsessed with her and wanted to stand beside her while she protected herself because he respected how much she needed to be in control of her own life and all this while still being supportive and just admiring her. Specially towards the end where he got all sappy.... It was cute! I loved his personality but was not expecting him to be so unhinged! Loved it!
Juniper was a force to be reckoned with and I liked her strength, she was stubborn and self-sufficient but also self aware enough to learn that she needed help and when she started to open up it was just uuughhh, she deserves everything good in this world! The author did a great job at writing a character that was touched by the trauma in her past but was still deserving of love and healing and revenge, not once was there a point where anyone questioned what Juniper needed to feel safe and I love to see this angry woman reclaim her life. She was a perfect match to Zane's sadistic vibes.
Nooow, their sex?! Wheew! Listen, when I tell you Zane banged her with a gun!!! I'm not talking about a shot! It was hot hot hooot and I loved it, their scenes showed their personalities and it was so good to read through. I loved their playfulness.
When it comes to the plot, I wasn't expecting this to be following the same events from the first book but from a different perspective. I was pleasantly surprised and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Leon and Raelynn from Zane's and Juniper's perspective, specially because Raelynn sounded even cuter and Leon sounded like a murderous sappy demon. Now.... I need them to have an orgy because their chemistry!!! Also, Everly and Callum were even more of a tease as a couple in this book and I can't wait! Anyways, getting back to the plot plot... Here we got to see a bit more of the lore of demons and it was definitely interesting, there was also constant action and murder here so I'm excited to see how much more are the stakes going to be raised in the next book.
Highly recommend you check out this book! Thanks to the author for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. -
4.5 stars
Juniper and Zane are exactly what I wanted from this book. They’re literally my dream couple, both bi sexual crazy and into weird shit accepting each other’s craziness where they finally found someone who is perfect for them in all they are. This was dark and thrilling and SEXY, everything missing from her soul to take was in this -
4.7 stars.
Fuck yeah.
This was so good.
It was the second side of the triangle we first saw in Her Soul to Take.
We got to see Zane and Juniper’s perspective through the whole ordeal.
Everything being put together, another piece of the puzzle clicking into place.
Juniper is a total and complete savage, badass.
And Zane revels in all her shattered, brokenness.
It was beautiful and messy and vicious and sexy and murderously violent.
I loved it.
And it was released at just the perfect time, right before Halloween.
Reading it outside in the dark was a creepy little treat.
I’m SO excited to get that third side of the triangle from Everly and Callum.
They seem a little different than these other two we’ve seen.
I’m really looking forward to seeing their special brand of savagery play out.
So fucking good.
So fucking kinky and sexy.
Fucked up perfection. -

This was a bit of a letdown after how much I ADORED the first book in this series. But, unfortunately, I'm just not a big fan of the same story told from a different point of view - it's boring to me that I know how it's going to end. I also didn't enjoy these characters nearly as much. BUT I still really enjoyed it and the smut is god-tier! -
“i don’t know what you’ve done to me. i don’t know why you make me feel...you make me feel safe. you make me feel like maybe everything isn’t shit. that’s not something i ever thought I’d have, zane. i didn’t think i’d feel safe again.”
this trope >>>>>>
no thoughts, other than the submission scene 🛐 -
I liked Raelynn but I LOVED Juniper. She was so badass and the spicy scenes were top tier. I’m obsessed with this book!!!

I wanted to read this but ended up dnf'in it
Promiscuous heroine and too many details about her ONS and the kinky sex she engages with strangers. Not my cup of tea. -

I have 39 highlights in this book. I’m NOT someone who highlights much at all. Maybe 2-5 highlights per book on average? So when I say I FREAKING LOVE THIS BOOK, I damn well mean it.
Juniper might be one of my favorite heroines I’ve read this year. She was broken by the things that happened to her when she was 15, but she’s also determined to get revenge no matter the cost. Seeing her grow and learn to accept herself through her interactions with Zane was everything.
ZANE THOUGH. I thought Leon was a sassy ass demon, but Leon absolutely has him beat. I laughed out loud on so many occasions, and honestly couldn’t get enough of him. I’m excited to meet Callum in book three but I already know he won’t compare to Zane for me. A sarcastic, sexy, slightly masochistic switch demon? Yeah I never stood a chance. -
4.5 “Awww, the mortal can’t hear massive footsteps on a wet street.” I tried to smack him in the balls, but he turned so that my palm smacked his ass instead. “Ooh, yeah, do it harder next time.”
“Fuck, I’d look hot as hell in this,” he said. “And I’d still dick you down good. Demon maid at your service.” He thrust his hips, and the image of him doing that dressed as a maid almost broke me.
“God, stop. Please.” I had to turn away because I was trying hard not to laugh. But I quickly added, “Buy it in your size, but you are not wearing it to the party.”
These two psychopaths are fucking everything! 😚
Juniper is such a uniqune character. The atmosphere the author creates is really amazing. Zane and Juniper are the chaotic characters I needed! Really good book.
I just have such a soft spot for Junipers character, I mean her character was SO unique. She was ravenous, wild and strong, badass as fuck, but she also had a really vulnerable side as well which I really loved to see.
She was dealing with her trauma throughout the book, which was what the book was about, her carrying out her mission, reclaiming her power and the fear she felt! Zane was truly there along the way for her, as a friend and something more. Truly some scenes got me quite emotional reading this. You were just rooting for Juniper throughout the whole book and wanted to truly see her succeed and battle her demons (no pun intended hehe)
She truly met the perfect match with Zane, and Zane with her. I mean truly I think she is one of the most unique characters I have read. Like I said with the “Her soul to Take” review I really commend the author for how vivid she writes her characters and they are full of life!
I truly didn’t think this could top the first book with Leon and was hesitant about reading this one, but BOY was I wrong! I think Zane might have bested Leon from me, I’m sorry Leon haha. I truly can’t wait for more books from this author, damn can she write!
I can’t wait for Everlys book! She reminds me of Luna Lovegood hehe. -
I loved this book. I had high expectations after reading Harley's Her Soul to Take, and boy, did this book deliver.
Both Juniper and Zane were a little... mentally unstable? (who am I kidding, it was more than a little). But then again, so am I. I have read some other books by Harley Laroux, and every time, I discover a new kink that I previously found weird... but now I'm kind of into it. How does she do that? I am now officially getting a piercing (if you know, you know) in the name of one of my book boyfriends. I'm not kidding, my appointment is tomorrow.
I absolutely LOVED Zane. I want my own demon, where do I sign up? I am ready to sell my soul NOW.
I was so invested in all the aspects of the story. Some books are completely focused on the romance and the plot was underdeveloped. Not this book. I was so invested in both the romance AND the plot. It was fascinating to experience the same events from somebody else's point of view. Juniper has been through hell, but every time life knocks her on her butt, she gets up swinging, ready to murder some people. She and Zane are a perfect match, and it was so fun reading about them teaming up against the world.
All in all, I loved this book, and I can't wait for the next one. I need it now, by the way. Everly and her archdemon? Are you kidding? I'm here for it.
