It seems like I’m doomed until my professor tells me he knows the perfect guy to tutor me—if he’ll agree.
Cree Madison is the star player on the hockey team, bound for NHL superstardom, and my last hope. I’m willing to do almost anything for his help.
When I meet up with him, his eyes light up and he says, “I’ve been looking for you.”
Only I don’t know him, and I’ve never met him before now.
I’m willing to pretend to be whoever he wants me to be if it means I pass this class.
But lies have a way of getting out of hand and neither one of us is prepared for the fallout when everything comes to light.

"I never thought I'd find a love like the ones I read about between the pages of my favourite books, but here it is, and I'll never take it for granted."
Micalea Smeltzer did it again and created an incredible story. If you want a book with swoon worthy book boys and romance that will make your heart melt this book is for you! This book and the characters stole my heart and left me wanting so much more.
We finally get Cree's story in this book and I was not disappointed. Cree met a girl at a bonfire and they instantly connected but at the end of the night they didn't give their real names, they went by Jay and Daisy. Fast forward a year later and Cree is still looking for the mysterious Daisy. Then we meet Ophelia, they bump into each other and Jay says "I’ve been looking for you.” Ophelia doesn't know who Cree is and mistakes him for her tutor and Jay plays along with it.
Jay begins to tutor Ophelia and they get closer to each other and can't help their attraction. The romance between them was perfect and the way Cree treats Ophelia makes me swoon. Cree is such a sweetheart and so kind and patient to Ophelia. Ophelia is just precious, she has autism and prefers the company of fictional characters, I could relate to her love of books which just made me love her more. The spice was SO GOOD too!!
I definitely recommend reading this book and the first 3 because you will absolutely adore the characters. I'm so excited for more books in this series, I have no doubt they'll be just as amazing.

I have been such a fan of this series. I’ve enjoyed them all and I honestly thought this one might be my favorite. I mean, sports romance, sweet and quiet hero, bookish heroine… What’s not to love? It’s not that I didn’t love it, it’s just that it didn’t hold my interest like some of the other ones. Cree and Ophelia were great, but I never felt that connection I wanted to feel. Still, I love Micalea’s writing and this one was good for me, just not great. I am so freaking excited for Jude and Millie’s book which is next! I hope the audio book for that comes out soon!

I love a good swoony and angsty new adult romance. And there’s a lot about the set up of this story that plays to tropes I love. A sports romance, opposites attract, unexpected second chance, super steamy- yes, yes, yes. Definitely the architecture of a story I should love- and there were certainly parts of it I did.
The characters in particular in this story are super adorable. I loved that Smeltzer is giving us a heroine that isn’t an archetype of a “shy girl”- and instead gives us a character who is rich and nuanced, who also happens to have autism, but is never a character defined by it. And Cree isn’t your typical popular jock - he’s thoughtful, patient, devoted, and just super swoony and sweet. Both had a relatability that made them likable and charming.
I just wish we’d had a bit more on the page chemistry development between these two for their romance, though. So much of their “connection” comes back to their first meeting- which is EPIC, it sizzles off the page. And I’d have just loved to see these two fall into each other a bit more, not only so I could feel like love for each other, but so I could connect with them a bit more as characters. They are likable, cute, sweet- and that’s part of it, the potential to be swept away by their romance is just so high. And I just, well, wasn’t- even though I LIKED them and I liked this story overall. The story progresses a bit at the surface until the finale when the “truths” come out, it felt a bit exaggerated compared to the pretty even keel tone of the story. Of course, it’s resolved super quickly- so the angst is pretty low, the conflict a bit contrived but pretty placid overall. Some of the secondary characters also may have sparked a bit too loudly (Mille and Jude in particular)- which may have made me just not fall as hard for these two- made them a little bit less memorable compared to others in the series.
All in all, enjoyable and a quick, sexy read. The steam parts were DELICIOUS- and I loved these two together in those moments. -
I was super into the first 5% and then i just got super confused but then i liked it again…there was a lot going on cause i have a feeling the next two books are going to intertwine in this timeline…so i was trying to keep up with that as well.
I do really like both cree and ophelia! their story had a lot of potential but i feel like there were parts that were lacking (probably cause there was a lot of other things going on). I liked that they were both nerdy lol and loved books.
All and all it was cute and a lot spicer than the other because we all know the quiet guys are always the kinkiest!
Tbh this book seemed like a filler and a push for the next two (very obviously).

Good Guys Don’t Lie is Cree’s book and we finally get to know more about his character and his story with Ophelia.
I’ve been anticipating this book since I’ve met Cree because he seemed like such an intriguing character and this book did not disappoint! It was nice reading Cree’s POV and really knowing the type of person he is. I absolutely love his personality and the way he cares deeply about the people closest to him. Also, for the way he never loses hope. Meeting Ophelia was everything!! Her character is so sweet and I loved reading her POV and getting to know her. She’s easily become one of my favorite characters written by this author. The moments Cree and Ophelia had are definitely my favorite aspects of this book. The way they both make each other feel more alive with every moment they spend together is really cute. Cree and Ophelia have amazing chemistry I couldn’t stop smiling reading their moments together!!
Good Guys Don’t Lie is an enjoyable read with characters that are easily lovable. I enjoyed the hints between side characters that I honestly can’t wait to read more about in their books!! -
you know when you mix two really good things to make something awesome, but you end up with something boring?
don't get me wrong, the book wasn't boring, but the couple was!
he's a reader, she's a reader and i always thought that this would be a great couple, but i was so bored of them talking about books! all i could think was ''am i that annoying when i talk books?''.
now the characters, alone i like them, and together i love when they are having sex, the hero is...wow i want him! he seems so sweet and very vanilla, but he's a dirty talker!
if you want a tutor romance, with booklover characters try this!
P.S.: i need Daire's book -

Honestly had such high hopes for this book and was a bit disappointed ngl. It was still a cute read tho!
The whole thing with them liking books was a bit overdone IMO. Like, cool, I get that you guys like to read, but maybe chill a bit. The smut was good, but the story overall was cringe and cliche.
If I'm being honest, Millie, Cree's sister, and his roommate, Jude, stole the show. Their breadcrumbs in this book have me so interested in them. Can't wait for them to serve the hate to love, and brother's best friend trope🤞
But other than that, ZoeyCole stays being the best in the series mmhmmm!! Read Nice Guys Don't Win if you haven't yet

Okay, so this is my new Favorite Micalea Smeltzer book! I had a feeling I was going to like it, just didn’t know this much!
This is the story of Cree and Ophelia. They met one night a year ago, Cree knowing she was the one… was told by Ophelia(Daisy at the time) if they ever meet again they will exchange Names and numbers.
Flash forward a year Cree has never forgotten about His mystery girl, only wants to find her. Ophelia needing a tutor finds herself needing help from Cree, With no recollection of who this man who calls her dairy is.
Micalea really knows how to write a story! She keeps you interested, she compel’s you to keep Turing the page. I fell in love with Ophelia and Cree the first night of the Bon fire and it just kept going the deeper I got into the story. Good guys don’t lie, is a pretty low angst story, but it’s the connection between the characters that really drives the story.
Ophelia is autistic but that doesn’t really define her, it just is a reason for some of her Quirks, it never really comes up when she’s around most people. I loved that the author wrote a character like her, one you don’t see often, getting to be in Ophelia’s head with her struggles, was really enlightening. I really loved her as a character, I liked seeing her open up with Cree along the way as well. Even though there’s something about him that comfort her.
Cree, oh this man! I did not see him coming at all! When I thought Teddy was my favorite character, in comes Cree! On the surface he seems like the all American guy. Nice, kind, doing well in school and hockey, and caring of his family. But below that is a dirty talking alpha male, and I was totally here for it! The steamy scenes with him and Ophelia were amazing! I fell in love with him a bit more.
The chemistry between these two you could cut with a knife. I loved seeing these two come together, and even though the timing wasn’t right then it shows that if it’s meant to be it will.
I defiantly recommend this story! It’s my favorite in this series! I think you will be surprised! -
WHEN THEYRE READERS TROPE. this was so adorable, EVERYTHING ABOUT IT WAS PERFECT.

"I never thought I'd find a love like the ones I read about between the pages of my favourite books, but here it is, and I'll never take it for granted."
— Ophelia, Good Guys Don't Lie by Micalea Smeltzer
This book gave me whiplash every three seconds because one moment we'll see Cree acting like a good boy then suddenly when they're behind closed doors, he somehow has an alter ego that's sO different. Not that I'm complaining, I loved every second of that. I always believe in the saying 'it's always the quiet ones' and this one DEFINITELY fits that saying. This boy is kinky and loves to give praise, that's for sure. I love how Ophelia, with Cree's help, finally finds it in her to come out of her comfort zone and live life.
In comparison, to the other books in this series, I'd say this one had the least drama in terms of the main couple in question. However, Daire and Jude? Yeah, I'm running to get their books because I know I'll be in for a lot. I did really miss the graduate batches (Teddy, Mascen and Cole) so it was an absolute delight to see Teddy in this one! -
This was adorable! Cree was such a peach, just so likable and sweet, that I wasn’t even bothered by his little white lie. Ophelia really endeared herself to me - I wasn’t bothered by her little white lie either lol. I just really loved them as a couple. This is definitely my favorite of the series so far!

I don't know how but Micalea manages to make each book in this series better than the last. 5/5 spicy hockey stars!
Ophelia is about to fail a class she NEEDS to pass to graduate. This leads her to Cree, our resident hockey star turned tutor. There's a case of mistaken identity when he recognizes her as the girl he's been looking for after connecting with her at a party a year ago. When she thinks he's her tutor he can't say no...although for some reason she doesn't remember him.
Cree is an absolutely wonderful hero and so sweet and patient with Ophelia. As she suffers from autism, it's tough for her to pick things up quickly and be outgoing in social situations. He opens her heart right up with his adorable dimples and spiciness in the bedroom ooo la la. When I say he's a gentleman in the streets and a freak in the sheets omg. I'm also a big hockey fan so seeing the hints of it here and there were super nice. The side characters were wonderful and I loved the cameos from past characters in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and CANNOT WAIT for Daire and Rosie's book as well as Jude and Millie's! -
Idk how Micalea writes guys who steal your heart every single time.
Cree was such a sweetheart. I am head over heels in love with him.
Ophelia is the sweetest, she is the best so far. I loved seeing how she grew over the course of time.
They meet for the first time at a bonfire, but lose touch after that.
When Cree finds her again after searching for a long time he is ecstatic but does Ophelia remember the time they spent?
They get closer through books and tutoring sessions which was so freaking cute and the way Ophelia trusted Cree and Cree making sure everything falls in place.
Everything was so well written. Highly recommend this book.
I can't wait for Jude and Millie's book. 😍 -
3/5 “Cree has opened my eyes to a special kind of love, one I thought only existed through twenty-six letters on the pages of novels. I thought it was something that existed in words, not feelings, but I was so wrong.”

Review to come 💚

TOO CUTE smiling throughout the whole book and giggling, ophelia my princess love her so much its insane

3.25?? idk i enjoyed this one and the 3rd one a LOT more than the 1st and 2nd books which were just not good but like this one was fun and cute and i really enjoyed the predicament they were put in.
both characters were really loveable and cute but just… some plot holes that made me question the author’s intentions. i am not autistic and i’m not sure if the author is and just because i have read some books with autistic characters does not mean i know what it means to be autistic but sometimes the author would mention the character not being able to read a situation but then the character describes exactly what happens in said situation. it feels like the plot was just written very conveniently for when the character needed to be autistic, if that makes sense? also she wrote that the main lead has social anxiety and i Do have that and he treats it very differently than i do jehdjjdekdn this is all to say: it feels like the author wanted to write diverse characters but wrote them just to write them. it didn’t feel very genuine is all
the ending/reveal was also very anticlimactic. ophelia’s arc felt shoved in so quickly to the end and for it to match with the ending was so unsatisfying. this is a huge repeat of how the author writes which is frustrating but she focuses a lot more on complete plot and then rushing the end and character development waaay at the end lol but i mean i truly didnt expect a lot and just tried to enjoy it as i went.
omg wait at the snippet at the end for finding out ophelia’s pov was so boring and useless like i cant believe that was it lmaooo -
I really liked Cree's personality in the way he was such a sweet boy on the outside but turned into a freak in bed. Apart from that, everything else was just honestly ok. The whole twist seemed really weak and there was no scene that is going to be remembered as THE scene (apart from the sex scenes lmao those were great). I cannot wait for Jude's book though so I'll pay attention to that.

“It’s always the quiet ones” they say. Yeah Cree took that saying to a whole new meaning.
Cree Madison is one k!nky mf. THE DIRTY TALK. THE PRAISE. THE UNIQUENESS. Excuse me…I need a minute.
Ok, i’m good. Actually no, i’m not but we’re gonna move on.
Ophelia is the perfect mix of shy with a wild side. And Cree is a lego loving bossy freak in the sheets. They share a love for books that just has my standards raising even higher if possible (that one book scene, HOT).
This was a steamy, sweet, light read. I loved it. Devoured this book in less than a day. There’s minimal drama which I don’t mind. I like my happy carefree moments in a romance book. The ending was slightly rushed for my liking but overall this was the perfect story for Ophelia and Cree.
You guys aren’t ready for this one! -
Definitely my second fav in the series! I can say that Micalea’s writing style has gotten so much better as the books went on. Cree and Ophelia have some of the best chemistry I’ve read. They have so much in common and you can just feel their energy through the pages. I love how in love they were. Cree knew Ophelia was the one from their first meeting, and even though Ophelia doesn’t understand why he has this connection to her at first, we soon learn the reason behind that night. I just feel in love with Ophelia and truly connected to her on a personal level. As someone is not only a book lover, but super shy and finds it hard to make friends, it made my heart hurt to see everything she felt and went through. I also just loved the Autism rep in here!! I think this story was absolute perfection and I wouldn’t want to change a thing. Except maybe getting even more bonus content for them, cause I’m obsessed!

“I never thought I’d find a love like the ones I read about between the pages of my favorite books, but here it is, and I’ll never take it for granted.”
I usually don’t like series or finish them because I get bored, but this one! Oh boy it keeps me on my toes and I can’t stop reading them! There so addictive and I really don’t want to finish it.
I had mixed feelings though out the story but when it came to the end I was obsessed! Cree was a character that wasn’t talked a lot though out the series but I’m really glad to see his story. Including Ophelia story’s. No child should have to feel like that and there’s nothing to be ashamed of that fact. I really did enjoy this story and I felt like I could relate to Ophelia on a whole different level.

ARC review <3
Now, I didn’t even read the previous books but I might do it now.
I gotta start by saying:
“I never thought I’d find a love like the ones I read about between the pages of my favorite books, but here it is, and I’ll never take it for granted. Love is the greatest gift we have in this world, even though it’s not always easy, it’s always worth treasuring.”
WHAT THE FUCK! I want that with a passion. I’ll probably sell my liver or something for it.
This book honestly was beautiful.
The book follow Ophelia and Cree. Cree is a senior at college, working hard as a star hockey player and acing his major (English!! **screaming into my pillow)
Ophelia is also an English major, shy and working hard on not failing.
She needed a tutor, he tutored her.
Their love was actually organic, nothing was forced. It was fast but I didn’t actually felt that I was going 100m/h.
Their love was actually cute, like not boringly cute, but amazingly cute.
I was actually surprised at hot her confidence was building up, even his, and how they actually helped each other grow as human beings.
It was refreshing to say the least.
It’s definitely a standalone, and it looks like Jude’s next and I’m really excited!!
HEA GUARANTEED TO THE TEA!
Tropes: college sports romance. Love at first sight. Amnesia. Shy/Confident.
Romance: THE BOOK STORE SCENE?! GONER! 4/5!!!!!
Spicy: mamm. I was there. I was Ophelia honestly. 3/5!! -
I saw a tiktok about a particular scene in this book and that’s why I read it. When I say I’m so fucking disappointed, I mean it.
Not only was the writing cringe, I hate the whole “shy girl uwu” trope. You can be shy, hell I’m shy half of the time but I hate it when the fmc need constant reassurance from the love interest. And when the love interest finds it adorable, idk feels like infantilism 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️.
Anyways, about that one scene, it was the her reading and him eating scene. Like okay not all books have to have smüt I get and understand that, but if you are gonna write smüt at least make it good???
Look I’m not here to be like “Oh I can write your book better than you”. I’m just saying that if you are gonna be an author of books like this, read some fan fiction or something. Even authors on Ao3 are better at writing then this book. Cause at some parts it did feel like poorly written fan fic (I would know!!! I’ve written fan fics that have come back to haunt me!!!)
The plot sucked, felt too fast.
The character development was barely there.
This book would be better if someone from Ao3 rewrote it. Sorry not sorry ig. -
2,5 Stars - Tbh this was just not my thing

let me just say it’s always the quiet ones (iykyk)
