Lucy Moore never lost faith in her fairy godmother, and when she lands an unbelievable dream job working for Drake Enterprises, she knows exactly who to thank for the opportunity. That dream job, however, comes with a twist that has her heading to northern Montana for the monthlong annual family retreat at The Lucky Wolf ranch. She packs a suitcase of warm clothes and a fake it 'til you make it attitude, prepared to do all she can to win the family over. Once there she comes face to face with the Drake brothers.

Alexander, Lucy's new boss, is literally a magazine cover model. He's also a numbers geek like her, which makes him dreamy beyond belief, and Lucy can't stop staring. He's too perfect to be real. Daniel is the first person Lucy meets when she arrives at the ranch in the most humiliating way possible. His warmth and humor quickly put her at ease, and she's grateful to have a friend in this unknown, way off the beaten path, frozen part of the country.

In one short month Lucy contends with animal attacks, a temporary roommate who's more robot than human, some ranch-hand flirting sessions, and a little eavesdropping, all while attempting to show her new boss that she can do the job.

When the month ends, and it's time to return home, her story is far from over. Now her heart belongs to the one man who seems perfect for her. Can they overcome all the obstacles in their way?

Oh my stars this was so good. I loved everything about it. Just Enough Luck had charm, great dialogue, and a romance that made me swoon. Even better, it's going to have another read in the series. I was so happy to see that.
This book reminded me of why I'm an Aspen Hadley fan.

This was such an enjoyable escape! I loved Lucy's character and watching her grow and fall in love with cowboy Daniel. They had such fun banter and chemistry and I loved that their relationship grew from friendship. Made the progression of things believable. I thought the pacing was good and I ended up getting sucked in and staying up way too late to read. I read the second book first and thought both were just a lot of fun, swoony reads.

    Dear Mrs. Hadley,

How do you do it? How do you write characters who are so utterly delightful and quirky? With friendships that matter? And people who are genuinely good, if s bit misguided? Because you do. These characters are so great. So, so great!

I adore Lucy and her quirky personality. She’s so funny and just the kind of person you’d way to be friends with.

Daniel is straight up swoony (also, I’m partial to the name Daniel so that’s another point in his favor) and amazing. I love that he and Lucy are straightforward with each other. We don’t have any of that annoying miscommunication thing lasting for days or weeks at a time and no one is vindictive or cruel. I also really love that their relationship is forged first in the fire of friendship. That’s my very favorite, so another point in this book’s favor.

Something else I love? That Lucy and Kayla are such good friends. Yay for strong female friendships and connections! They truly embody the idea of straightening another woman’s crown without alerting the world that it was crooked in the first place.

And because it is late and my brain is foggy and unable to think of anything else brilliant to say, I’ll just share a list of some favorite things:
    -Fairy godmother
    -Kayla
    -The food
    -Book lovers! The library!
    -The nicknames!
    -Friendship
    -Pick up lines and flirting
    -The sheep obsession
    -Googling all the random questions
-Horseback riding and falling onto Daniel
    -The waltz
    -The hay loft picnic
    -Strong brother relationships
    -Friendly banter and teasing
    -Gestures of love
    -Honesty!

See? So many things to love. I also love that you major deliver on the swoon without any explicit content. Basically, I love your book. A lot a lot. And I can’t wait for Kayla’s story!

    Anxiously waiting,
    Jessica

**Many thanks to the author for the advance copy, which I was offered with option to review. These are my very own thoughts.

Guys, this book was just all the happy things and I’m kind of obsessed!
I absolutely need to start with the banter and interactions between Lucy and Daniel! It was on fire and so authentic and had me laughing out loud so many times! From the moment they met they perfectly clicked and had a genuine friendship that was naturally turned into something more. They both were kind of just unapologetically themselves and didn’t really have any pretense with each other which allowed their relationship to grow without even trying. They were just so adorably cute together and I had a giddy smile on my face whenever they were with each other! Also, random fact about me is that I love when the hero/heroine have nicknames for each other so that fact that Daniel was always making up new ones for Lucy on the spot was my favorite and made me love him even more!
I also appreciated how they had disagreements or conflict and resolved it without being unnecessarily dramatic about it! That’s a rare find and I’m always here for it!
This book had me hating to put it down and wanting to be reading it whenever I had to actually live life-and for someone who normally can set books down and pick them up whenever that’s saying something! I just genuinely loved the whole thing and I’m a little bit sad to leave the happy bubble of these pages! But thankfully there’s another connected book coming and this won’t be the last I see of these characters!
If you love books that put a dopey grin on your face and make you laugh definitely check this one out!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Aspen Hadley, you've done it again, friend!
This book is all the adorable things wrapped into a beautiful purple cover. The meet cute was great, the kind of story that would keep generations laughing. There's a good blend of depth and lightness and SO many great quotes. Also, can we discuss the flawed characters? Every good book has a flawed character. Somehow, some way there's someone doing something that makes the reader shake their head. In this book, Aspen really leaned into it, to show how personalities and flaws are part of life and love and she shows that relationships are not all smooth sailing. I like it. (Plus they're equally flawed which I appreciate)
So, if you like farms, hot bosses, equally hot boss's brothers, good food, some solid mishaps and a HEA, I would absolutely recommend this read!

    5 stars.

    🐴 my thoughts

Cutest story ever. I honestly wasn’t planning to read this one because the cover. I wasn’t sure if magic was involved. Or if it was a middle grade book. 🙈🙈🙈
But I can fully confirm that this is the sweetest romcom. One of my favorites for sure. There’s a book coming out in April to complete this duology and I CANNNOT WAIT.

I knew it, I freaking knew it the minute he rescued her on the horse.

I now want to move to a ranch in Montana and turn my husband into a cowboy because this book was all the warm cozy happy feelings.

  • Kristy

It took me forever to finish this, and in the end I feel like it was just fine. The chemistry between the main characters just wasn't there, and the time-line felt all wonky.

Aspen Hadley has officially been added to my auto-buy author list. I LOVED THIS BOOK! Lucy is as real and relatable as any great fictional characters can be and downright hilarious! Her mishaps are fun to read about and make me feel a little more ok with my own mishaps IRL lol. Daniel is such a fun main character and love interest. I was highly entertained throughout. He pushes all of Lucy’s buttons while building a friendship, and Lucy pushes all of those buttons back. My favorite thing about Aspen’s writing is her ability to make you really feel how these two characters feel about each other!

Another winning book from Aspen that I can easily recommend to anyone! Thanks to the author for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

I liked this one in the beginning but the longer it went on, the more it bugged me and I honestly couldn’t wait for it to end.

This was a very delightful book! The whole ranch setting was a dream come true. I loved Lucy & her enthusiasm for life & the job.
Daniel was such a sweetheart, the perfect book boyfriend. He was kind, funny, loyal & sweet!
The back forth banter between them was hilarious; especially the nicknames.

There were lots of laughter, swoon & romantic moments that made my heart do a happy sigh.

This book was a fun rom com that with a bit of a western flair! Cowboy boots and banter contributed to the charm of this story! Lucy was definitely a city girl with a flirtatious nature and Daniel was a rancher with a really great sense of humor! It was fun to watch their friendship flourish and romantic sparks fly as they got to know each other. This rom com was well balanced between humor and romance. There were funny moments, but they occurred naturally which is always what I prefer! This book is part of series and I am really anxious to dive in to the next one!

  • Mindy Smith

This book was so adorable. I have really loved all of Aspen Hadley’s books! They are also charming and witty and make me feel all the feels! I did have a harder time painting the picture of Lucy’s character, but Daniel was really easy for me to picture. They were an adorable couple, and I really liked the easy banter between the two during the book. I really can’t wait for her next book about Kayla to come out! It looks really great, and I can’t wait for Alexander to loosen up a little bit. I really liked this book. 5 stars! Would recommend for sure!

Another winning book from Aspen Hadley! I loved this book so much! It was a cute story of friend to romance. I absolutely LOVED the setting. It was easy to follow. Lucy was cute and real and since I have a daughter Lucy I loved all the creative nick names that Daniel comes up with. I predicated a little bit more family drama, but in the end I was super happy with exactly how it turned out and the amount of drama was perfect! I've really enjoyed Hadley's books and recommend them all the time. If you haven't' read any of her books yet, check them out. Just Enough Luck will be released in just a few weeks and you'll want to make sure you pre-order your copy today!

I did receive an advanced copy of the book from the author in exchange for my honest review. Although I love Aspen Hadley's books and always buy a copy to add to my home library regardless!

•The back and forth between these two is DELIGHTFUL
    •Sheep - I think I need some now.
•And I need to read more historical novels with hay loft scenes.
•I am a little irritated with how romantically clueless Lucy is
•Another barn scene that I'm in love with.
    •Chapter 16 😍
•Love that they built a friendship
    •Kayla is pretty funny
    •ah, eavesdropping....
•And they lived happily ever after ❤

Overall, this is a hilariously adorable romantic comedy that reinforced my love of cowboys and actually made snow seem romantic!

This was the absolute cutest book! Gosh!! It gave me all the feels and made me wish for a ranch in the fall.
There were so many snippets of this book that I could relate to. The long distance thing was one of them. Gosh it’s hard and I felt for Lucy! There’s only so much you can get from a video chat. 😂 Even if they do help build that friendship without any distractions.
I loved this book and would totally read it again! I’m excited for book two to come out this spring!

From the turn of the first page, author Aspen Hadley will have readers laughing, loving, and adoring her novel, Just Enough Luck. This story is about a girl, Lucy, who gets her dream job. But it doesn’t go exactly as she expects it to. She ends up on her boss’s family farm and has several mishaps in the process. And even though her boss is a dream, it’s his sheep loving cowboy brother that captures her attention and her heart. The banter in this story is hilarious and readers will thoroughly enjoy the best friends to lover’s aspect of the story. Dream jobs, “robot” roommates, friendship, and romance. This story has a little bit of everything for all those that are romantic at heart and who love to laugh.

I absolutely, positively and completely LOVED this book!! It may just be my new favorite book from Aspen Hadley and that's saying something because I adored everything else I have read by her.

This book had me hooked from chapter one and it only got better from there. Lucy is a totally relatable character and her mishaps had me laughing out loud. I love the friendship between her and Daniel and there so many cute scenes - the hayloft, the waltz, the sheep, the nicknames - I loved it all! Add in the banter and the swoony dialogue and kisses and big gestures and this book just about did me in. I have already gone back and read through my favorite parts several times and will definitely be re-reading the whole book soon. It is just that good!!

I received a complimentary copy from the author but a positive review was not required.

    3.5 rounded up.

Okay this book was cute and fun. It had me laughing out loud many times. And as a horseback rider and lover of nature, I thought Daniel Drake was a pretty fantastic character. Because of that, Lucy kinda bugged me. I mean this is kind of silly because this is a work of fiction, but dang it that girl doesn't deserve him! A city slicker like her doesn't deserve a ranch man like him haha.

Anyway, those are my subjective thoughts. Overall it was a pretty fun book to read, and I still mostly enjoyed it. Aspen Hadley writes some pretty entertaining stories and has some super funny dialogue.

I read half and am bowing out. I almost quit a while back because there was absolutely no chemistry anywhere and I was getting bugged that she was chasing the wrong guy. When she figured that out, I hoped there would be some chemistry, but again, none in sight.

The final straw was when she got hurt and Daniel was being a total sweetheart, taking care of her and being protective, and she was a total snot to him. Arguing, complaining, etc. She was so annoying. There’s no way a guy could keep crushing on her with her attitude. (She even acted put-out that the others continued with the activity when she went to the clinic. How petty. And even worse to admit it out loud!)

Anyway, her accident could have been a great plot device, a way to show some sparks between them. But you have to be NICE for that to happen. Show some gratitude. I’m done with this prickly heroine.

I did like that she wears cute clothes and is sociable and light hearted. I like that she’s good at her job.
    The writing was good.

    Content:
    Language- no swearing
Sex- No sexual references at all. Other reviewers say it’s perfectly clean (pecking on the lips and some snuggling).
    Cover- I don’t like it.
    I read this on KU

This book was seriously so much fun! I LOVE it so much and I truly think every reader needs to read it.
This totally fun and adorably quirky story was a blast to dive into. Lucy and Daniel are rockstars and I could gush about their love story till the sheep come home.

A few of my absolute favorite things about this book are:
    • waltzing in a barn
    • the best kind of best friend
    • someone who, like me, finds true joy in good food
    • assassin chickens
    • romantic moments in book stores
    • adorable FaceTime calls
    • pivot!
    • cute nicknames
    • a hilarious, genuine, and feisty “city-girl”
    • a horse riding, sheep herding swoony cowboy

This book honestly just reaffirmed to me the need for RomCom books in my life. Life’s been hard lately and this book lightened my mood and brought many smiles to my face and had me doing my totally weird breathy chuckle thing. And as this is the first book I’ve read by the wonderful Aspen Hadley I am now adding her to my favorite authors list. She hit it out of the park with this one and I can’t wait to read other books by her.
Make sure you read this book because it’s completely amazing!

  • Heidi

I thoroughly enjoyed Lucy's story! She's spunky and I'm here for it!! "Maybe I had an inner siren that had been silent all these years just waiting for a fellow numbers nerd to awaken her." I want to spend a weekend hanging out with Lucy and her roommate Kayla! They're such fun characters and well defined.

The story actually had a few scenes in there I totally wasn't suspecting and I loved them! The waltz was swoon worthy!! I even enjoyed their first fight. """How long are you going to give me the silent treatment?" he asked once we were cruising along the highway. "I'm not giving you the silent treatment. I'm protecting you from the yelling treatment," I replied." Seriously, the writing is entertaining and the relationship just sparkles.

This is a fabulous rom-com that leaves you smiling! I adored every min of it!!! Now I'm anxiously awaiting the sequel! I want Kayla's story now!! Thanks Aspen for the enjoyable night of reading! It was perfect!!

Ok I really enjoyed this book. I had a smile on my face the whole time. The main characters personality was amazing. I loved that she could be so funny. She was witty and not annoying. She was generous and loved food. And Daniel was just as witty and funny. Such a great setting on the farm and Vegas too. I loved that they were true friends before any romantic feelings came about. Like 60% of the book they were friends but I still loved it! The side characters were amazing too. Their fights were more funny and relatable than annoying and heartbreaking. They were just so good together. How they made fun of romance books and hsm and nicknames. All her questions and love of food I could relate to so hard haha.
