Will never read another book by this author. This is the second and the last. Sloppy editing. Words that should be hyphenated. And for heaven sakes, if you're going to write a book that's based on the Amish, learn to spell the words correctly. Some have various spellings, but at least use one of those. It is SCHNITZ pie or SNITZ not SNITS. A snit is "a fit of irritation: a sulk." Multiple fits or sulks are SNITS.

It is common practice to put Amish words such as gut in talics. Of course that would take every extra effort on your part.

The school teacher is first introduced as being an Englisher and yet later is treated like she must be Amish. And yet even later, the story states she IS Amish. So what happened? Did you first think you'd make the school teacher English and changed your mind?

You had the basis of a really good story here. The same thing in the first book I read of yours -- And yet you RUIN it. Goodness sake, if you can't do this yourself, then get some help. A decent Beta reader could stop almost every single error I find.

I get so frustrated with the silly errors that I can't stand reading all of it so I skip to the end to see how it comes out. If I sound angry, it is because I am. You've already done two of the hardest things about writing a story -- coming up with an idea and good characters. But writing and being an author is more than just those two things Please, please take the time to edit your stories. If you don't know how, then either learn or hire help. I hate to see good ideas go to waste as you are wasting yours.

This is one of two novellas I am reading that is about how Amish communities deal with family losses that make orphans. In this case, a couple gets killed on the highway answering a midwife call. the eldest son has to take of the farm, the house, and two younger siblings. In another community a young woman is grieving the death of a fiance, so her uncle sends her to help the young man deal with his affairs. Not gonna tell you the ending. You have to get it for yourself.

    Overcoming Loss

Elizabeth, Caleb and his siblings are all suffering from loss. Elizabeth has come to help Caleb's family. An encounter with the school teacher puts doubt into both Elizabeth and Caleb. I wish Caleb had come to forgive the Swartz family. I don't think I can give a recommendation for the book.

    Awesome book!!

This book was enjoyable to read. It brought out the importance of obeying God and putting aside your grief in order to bring happiness to someone else.
