By a USA Today bestselling author: Peabo, an ex-soldier finds himself on death's doorstep when he arrives at the sage's tower and his world is turned upside-down. The women at the tower are either going to kill him or turn him into a weapon this world hasn't seen in thousands of years.

For Peabo, he's not so sure that surviving is the better of the two options.

-------

Peabo is a former Special Forces soldier trapped in a world that isn't so different than the one he'd left. Except that in this world, some of the laws of physics seemed to have been tweaked. He's also known as a plainswalker, yet nobody seems to fully understand what that means.

In this world, there are a few people that have gifts that grow over time. And during the last handful of months, Peabo's strength and speed have increased to a new level. A level that brought with it the nosebleeds, and they are killing him.

On death's doorstep, Peabo is brought to a place called the sage's tower; a place known as a repository of ancient knowledge and where assassins are trained in the dark arts of their craft.

It is here where Peabo's world is turned upside-down.

THE SAGE'S TOWER is a story about a modern-day soldier coping with a situation that will either kill him or turn him into a weapon this world hasn't seen in thousands of years, if not longer.

For Peabo, he's not so sure that surviving is the better of the two options.

The Sage's Tower (The Plainswalker, #2) Reviews

    Hmmm

So I rated this lower than the first novel. It’s still very clean, with no stats and only a cursory mention of ‘levels’.

My main difficulty is the pace of the narrative. It seems to be set on fast-forward. Portal travel, more than double his beginning levels, and amazing power all show up in this one. It felt somewhat like the author was trying to hit the necessary moments and get through to the end as expeditiously as possible.

I am not convinced this is headed in the right direction, but I may try the next book anyway. It’s very clean prose, and most other LitRPG is not.

    Excellent read

I know quality when I come across it and I've definitely found it within these two books. I shall be reading other writings from Mr. Rothman to see if it is a fluke of this series or something found in everything he creates. I suspect the latter. Well done sir and I humbly ask for a quick continuation to this story.

    Book two

Mistakes: Very well written and edited. With how long it was between books one and two being published a recap would have been nice, but each book can stand on their own.

Plot: Learning of his power and just what he has been sent to do.

Characters: Good growth, however the game aspect doesn't really play much of a part and could be dropped from the story with no problem.

    9/10

I definitely have more question now…

How deeply does the rot exist in this world? Were the allies of the Darkness always such? Or have they been corrupted over time? Is Bo unique, or is he simply the one Plainswalker who progressed far enough along to qualify for the ‘prophecy’? How will his actions, going forward, impact everything that brought him up to this point?

    Great addition to the series

Much like the first book, this was another awesome book. I can’t wait for the next one. I like the unique twist on litRPG and the fact that it isn’t another harem adventure like all the others on Amazon.

    Cliffhangered again!

How dare you write so well and then leave? Thank you for writing so well and hiring a good editor or team of editors. I eagerly await book three so I can consume it in two to three days and be left dying for more.

Wonderful continuation to The Plainswalker series. I echo comments that it really is a perfect blend of true science, sci-fi and fantasy. Very enjoyable.

    Delightful Good

There are times when you run across a series of books that grab you and won’t let go. This series is one of them. Hope book three is coming soon.
