The definition of trouble is a pro football player. Change my mind.
Ryder Summers—The big, bad New York Vulcans linebacker with an anger-management problem to match.
He’s being sent to an exclusive beachside retreat to ‘heal’ and ‘refresh’. Read: save his career.
And I’m the sucker who has to escort him.
I didn’t go to Harvard to babysit an oversized toddler who can’t control his temper, and I’m sure as hell not giving into his endless pickup lines and bad boy wiles.
I’m a professional. I don’t fall for guys like Ryder, even if he is a hundred kinds of hot—sinful, seductive, and oh so gorgeous.
But the more I get to know him, the more I wouldn’t mind a taste, just a teaser of what it’s like to actually live.
One ‘O’—one back-breaking, headboard-shaking climax is all I want, just to know it’s not a myth.
I have no doubt Ryder can deliver, but the secret I’m guarding could destroy both our careers, nothing but disaster incarnate to follow.
So why the hell am I hungering for his touch, ready to throw caution to the wind and whip my panties off?
One thing’s for sure, sports fans. Things are about to get crazy.

Join Ryder and Amber in this brand-new series big on steam and naughty surprises. This full-length bad boy romance can also be read standalone and includes no cheating, no cliffhangers and a take-your-breath-away extended HEA.

this is the longest novella i've read.
i know this is not a novella, but the romance was so fast that i think this is a novella.

he's a great football player but his image i really bad, so he's sent to a retreat for 2weeks with a babysitter, aka the team owner's daughter.

this was cute, and really fast

Just so average - read on KU

I used to be a Teagan Kade fan and then she released two or three real stinkers. Then she released a better book again but I lost track of her along the way.

I forgot she was the author of this book as I was reading it and thought it was a new author with not much experience, but she has written a lot of books.

The editing/proofreading could have been better but wasn't horrible. At least the errors made were typos and not things where she clearly didn't know the proper grammar. The mistakes were all different with the exception of randomly missing quote marks.

This book was very dry. It told the story but it was bare bones. Most of the book consisted of three or so sentence paragraphs. There wasn't enough embellishment. It was like a husband explaining a series of events vs a wife. While I hate books that go to the other extreme, there was just too little flowery language here.

Ms. Kade didn't really establish a good connection between the MCs until half way through the book. They were supposedly drawn to each other but she didn't demonstrate that before the point where each character thought it to hinself/herself.

There were also small plot holes that could have easily been fixed. They go for a swim at night jn California. And you know California water is cold. There's no way they tolerated the water more than a few minutes. But somehow, in that time, the tide changed so much their clothes were wet. I live in Savannah Georgia and we have the highest tide changes anywhere in the country except Alaska. On an average tide cycle, the water goes up 7 feet every 6.5 hours. The tide change in California appears to be at most 3.5 ft in 7 hours or less. So our tide change is double that of California on an average day. In 15 minutes, the tide rises 3 inches vertically and probably 12 inches furhter up the beach depending on the slope. It is doubtful their clothes would have gotten wet unless they stripped right at the edge of the water and I hope they weren't stupid enough to do that. They left their phones there, too. Again, it doesn't make sense but she needed it as a plot device. Something else happened similar to this where the author just didn't spend 5 minutes researching something to make her book more realistic. And they had a conversation involving math where simple addition was required for whatever she was saying.

After reading this book, I am returning to my stance of not reading ,ore by Ms. Kade. I've given her two chances to show improvement but she seems to be more into quantity than quality. I guess if that is making her kj ey, more power to her.

    Calming Him With Love -
Ryder was known as the troublemaker of football, who was loved by the media, but hated by his bosses because of his antics. Amber was supposed to be Ryder’s babysitter when he was banished to the retreat to help him. However, the more time they spent together brought them closer together and changed the status of their relationship, which got them into trouble after pictures were published about a wild encounter between them.

The story held my interest from the first page to the last, with the steamy encounters, witty bantering, romance and Ryder’s emotionally challenging past. I felt like I had just ridden a rollercoaster and needed a cold drink to calm me down. This is a story that you will definitely want to read. I can surely say that Teagan Kade stories are now one of my favourites to indulge in.

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

In my opinion this is pretty good start to a new series New York Vulcans Series. In this series we are going to follow the players of the New York Vulcans, which I think we were introduced to in the King Brothers Series (I'm not 100% on that). Ryder is the typical bad boy football player with an anger problem. He is arrogant, only wants fun and thinks he's a gift to women. Amber is up tight, to serious and just wants to get through this job to prove herself. I found Amber and Ryder humorous and likable. I found this book a little predictable but I was okay with that. I wanted more suspense, I never really found an antagonist. I liked Ryder's protective side for Amber. I found Ryder a good start to the series and look forward to the next one. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader's copy.

A football player with impulse control issues which are leading to PR nightmares is sent to residential treatment to deal with the issue, and is sent with a chaperone. Yadda-yadda-yadda she heals him. The writing is surprisingly good, especially the dialogue, but there is a cliche on every page, and more importantly under the circumstances where your job is to help a person with dangerous impulse control problems you don't have sex with him. I am all for people being guided by their passions in romance and will look the other way for (or actively find super sexy) all sorts of inappropriate boss/assistant, bodyguard/client, etc. hookups, this is the equivalent of sneaking heroin to someone in rehab. Just no. There was enough here I liked to partially override the ethics issue and that got me to a high 2-star

This is the 1st in a new series and is Ryder and Amber’s journey. Ryder is the bad boy, line-backer off the New York Vulcans, and as he has anger management issues, he is sent to an exclusive retreat to get a handle on himself and for damage control. Amber is the boss’ daughter and she is sent to babysit Ryder, and keep him in hand, but the more time they spend together the closer they become, and when pictures are leaked of their secret tryst to the public, both their careers and reputations are on the line. This is a well written flawless story which is emotionally charged, and with surprises, witty banter, humor, romance, which leads to a steamy and entertaining all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

When trying to rehab his image, he fell in love. There was a lot underneath that bad boy persona, and it was a pleasure watching these two fall for each other. It probably was a little sex heavy for me, but there were there super tender moments too. I was almost blubbering during Ryder's POV in the epilogue. I was just so happy and it was sweet.

    “Because bad boys can change.”

    I loved this book.

Ryder, constantly getting himself in trouble off the football field, is sent to an Anger Management Retreat for 2 weeks. Amber, stuck with getting Ryder to the retreat, ends up falling for the bad boy. But then things happen and pictures get out and everything gets turned upside down.

It was great seeing that Ryder had so many people in his corner. Usually the one who causes waves always seem to end up alone in his misery.

    Can’t wait for Liam’s book.

Ryder and Amber ... phew ... (fanning herself) …
No one writes steamy sports novels better than Ms. Kade. Period. Ryder and Amber's story is no exception.
I loved the easy-going demeanor of the two, the banter and shenanigans they came up with. It's a fun feel-good read with a dose of steam and a bit of drama and angst, something I needed right now, something that made me smile and giggle and distracted me from real life.
I am so looking forward to more Vulcans stories, to more of that lighthearted feeling while reading.

  • Leanne ~ Tales From The Heart

I love a good sports romance, Alpha guys turning to mush for their women. Ryder is no exception. He's got anger issues, what is the under lying reason. Sent away to a retreat with the boss's daughter as chaperone. all he thinks about is getting her into bed. She's so prim and proper. Little did he know feelings and emotions would happen.
I really enjoyed their journey of lust to love. Their growth and responsibilities changing their lives.
Loved the epilogue, can't wait for Liam's story.

Ryder was a sneaky boy!! When I first starting reading his story, I thought I wouldn't like him. Then he snuck up on me. Amber has had a silver spoon all her life, but she is unfulfilled. She takes a job as a glorified babysitter for Ryder and one thing leads to another. This is a pretty steamy read with a little drama. I received an ARC copy of this book and liked it so much I bought a copy too! Can't wait for the "Liam".

    Good read

Ryder is in big trouble and is being sent to a retreat to get a handle on his anger issues, oh and he gets a babysitter to go along. Amber is trying to fit into her father's business, but volunteering to babysit the team's problem wasn't what she hoped for. Keep it professional, keep him out of trouble... But attraction always gets in the way. Fun read!

Usually I’m not all that fond of sports-related romances…but dang! Teagan Kade takes them to a whole new level! Ryder is pure testosterone driven hotness…and Amber is pure sex. Man oh man. One super hot storyline, coupled with outrageous characters and fantastic plot twists—WOW! Thera whole lot happening that just keeps drawing you back in…again and again. You definitely want to grab one of these bad boys! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and really enjoyed it.)

All the four stars for the steamy scenes

Fast pace, I feel some part can be explore more in their character.
Like Ryder's past secret/trauma can be a well induced tear jerker, but it was reveal and solved by a simple weird and mysterious jail mate?

And Amber's relationship with her father... The way it resolved was too easy and in the end felt shallow and flat.

The steamy scenes on the other hand was slow and thorough. All the four stars for the steamy scenes

  • Cassie O

I wanted to like this book, really I did, I like sports romances, it was set to be spicy and sort of forbidden romance/enemies to lovers, but it fell SO flat.

Ryder is an angsty player with anger issues who's sent to a retreat with a babysitter, Amber, a stick-in-the-mud manager type. The badboy/playboy with an attitude manages to charm her, they sleep together and get caught by paparazzi while using the balcony for their escapades.

She quits her job, he admits to killing his dad, they spend time apart because her reputation is 1800s-level tarnished based on the dramatics, and eventually find their way back to one another.

Not believable, terrible dialogue, cringey situations and just overall not good.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️
    Spice 🌶️🌶️
    Audio 🎧🎧🎧
Ryder and ambers story is one of redemption for Ryder.
A troubled football player with demons meets the owners daughter who tries to get him straightened out. He falls first but also is able to open up and let amber in.
The beach scene was very hot, but was written as if the sand didn’t exist as amber said “it was one of the best nights”. Slightly unrealistic.
For an audio book I enjoyed this as the narration was easy to listen to and follow.

  • Allison Markus

I could barely force myself to read it, but I finally got through it. I feel like there was a lot of potential, but as soon as they did anything spicy 🌶️ together, it went from an actual story with plot to literally just spice and I don’t know why, but the spice just made me uncomfortable. It really felt like there was no actual relationship between the main characters besides their physical attraction. Just wasn’t the biggest fan.

  • Dawn's Diary

This was a quick and enjoyable read. I was kept engaged by the heated encounters, witty bantering, and romance. I found Amber and Ryder to be amusing and likable. This was a great start to the series, and I'm excited to see where it goes from here. Overall, a well-written story full of surprises, witty dialogue, and humor that keeps you turning the pages.

Wonderful start to a new series. And this one features football players. Woohoo. Ryder and Amber were a great pair to kick off the series with. I loved there chemistry and how even though Amber was there to help Ryder with cleaning up his media presence the two of them end up getting caught by the paps. This was an entertaining read. I loved the HEA and can not wait to read the next book in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

First book I’ve read by this author !

I’m hooked. I enjoy reading about bad boys and Ryder makes a good one.
Amber is a good girl and rule follower and just needs someone to show her that breaking the rules sometimes is what is needed
