He's back in town after a successful country music career. She owns a bordering farm to the family land he wants to buy...and she outbids him at the auction. Can Tex and Abigail rekindle their old flame, or will the issue of land ownership come between them?

Tex Young has spent the last two decades traveling around the world with his brothers as part of Country Quad, a successful cowboy boy band. He's stepping back from the band and returning to his roots in Coral Canyon, where the Young brothers all grew up.

Their father sold the family ranch several years ago when none of them wanted it, and Tex, along with his son, rolls into town the day before an auction for the land. He wants it. He talks to some of his brothers, and they decide to try to get the ranch back.

Abigail Ingalls has other plans for that land, as it borders her small farm, which she's labored on with her disabled brother for the past two decades...after Tex left her in Coral Canyon so he could go live the country music star life. The land isn't taken care of, and she wants to add it to what she owns and create an oasis out of weeds.

Abby and Tex both show up at the auction, and they both want that land. The sparks between them are as hot as they were twenty years ago, but Tex tells himself it's because the uppity town librarian outbid him and bought his family ranch.

So he devises another plan to get the ranch back...and that includes taking his gorgeous, former girlfriend to dinner a time or two. Can Tex and Abby build a real, lasting relationship now that they're both back in Coral Canyon for good? Or will Tex's plan to get his family ranch back end up breaking both of their hearts?

Tex (Coral Canyon Cowboys #1) Reviews

This book is a sweet but simple story. Did not realize it is “Christian fiction” before starting it. Unrealistic in story progression and not well-written. Not interested in rest of series.

This is a great first book to what looks to be an incredible series from this author. The storyline is gripping and enthralling as we see Tex and Abby get a second chance at a love long lost. A rundown ranch, heartache, challenges, a few twists and turns and best of all family and love had me glued to the pages and has me waiting patiently and eagerly for the next book!

I enjoyed reading this book about Tex and Abby. I really liked Bryce's character in the book. It's not often that I see a teenager in a book who has a multitude of redeeming qualities.

It was a good book about family, love, loyalty, responsibility, compassion, and compromise. Abby reminded me of that phrase "March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb". I found her to be overbearing at the beginning of the book, but her character grew on me. I also liked her brother Wade.

Tex and Abby seemed to have a sweet, gentle second hand romance. There weren't that many hiccups and they managed to work through the ones they encountered.

This book had one drawback for me. That is why I rated it 4.5 instead of 5 stars. There were TOO many people in the book for me to keep up with while trying to read. I literally had to write down who the people were and how they connected. With there being 10 Young brothers, and the associated connections with spouses, girlfriends, potential girlfriends, ex's, children, and other family members and friends, I found it to be overwhelming.

Hopefully, by the time we get to the last Young brothers book, I will have the relationships firmly planted in my mind. My list got wet, so I will have to start my relationship chart over again. Lol!

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This was okay.. just eh. I thought the beginning was really strong. Then in the middle we switched to a random person's pov and I was like wtf??? Then it got kind or boring in the middle but the romance was good. Although I will not be continuing with the series.

Tex, the oldest brother of nine boys, has moved back to his home town of Coral Canyon. Yup, same place with some of the Hammond brothers who make cameo appearances. He now has full custody of his seventeen year old son Bryce. He ends up co-buying his old homestead with his high school girlfriend, next door neighbor, Abby. He has been on the road with his country band of his brothers. Their reunion is pretty tense after 20 years but each still harbors great love for each other. Gonna take some time to work through that. Very well written with great character development. I found this book to be a little lighter weight than the previous ones but still most enjoyable. Looking forward to read about the next brother.

Can Abby and Tex Rekindle Their 1st 💗, after 20 Yrs.?

I ❤️ that Liz Isaacson has returned to Coral Canyon, WY, as the setting, for her Western, Christian Romance, "Tex: A Young Brothers Novel (Coral Canyon 📗 1)". I ❤️ that other characters, from LI's other Coral Cyn Series, show up in this Story too.

Tex return to Coral Cyn, and finds the Ranch he grew up on "For Sale". He buys it with his next door neighbor; and sets about renovating the Ranch.

Tex left town, and his 1st 💗Abigail/Abby, to attend college. Will God help him have a Second Chance, at a lifetime 💞 with her? How do the Young Brothers help Abby & Tex?

I Highly Recommend You 📖 this Wonderful, Inspirational, Page-Turning 📗 to find the answers! ❤️📖 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book grabbed me! Tex wanted to buy the old house he was raised in, but it was going up for auction. His neighbor in high school was his girlfriend, Abby, and she was determined to win the auction. But Tex was just as determined. Abby went too far on the amount of money for the auction, but Tex finally let her have it. Except, it turns out she didn’t have enough money and it was cash only. Tex and Abby split the cost to get the property, but the house would belong to Tex. The old house was in really sad shape, but he and Bryce worked really hard and got the house fixed in a few months.
I like how Tex didn’t want to tell how he felt about Abby, and Abby didn’t want to tell Tex how she felt. In the end, it all comes together like clockwork!

I kind of love how this author’s work requires the entire family to tell any given story. I feel like it highlights the way we’re all connected to one another in this world. I adore second chances, so learning that Tex’s story is another shot at the one he let go of, I was here for every moment of it. Abby took a little work for me to really connect with her. I could easily understand the hurt feelings she still carried with her, but her tendency to go right over the edge for no good reason I could see kept me from really engaging with her character. I loved watching the whole Young family in action and it was a treat to check back in with all the Hammonds. I’m already looking forward to seeing what the next book brings.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

I’m not a huge fan of series that follow each character…they start to get repetitive and unremarkable - I’m afraid this is where this series might go. 😞 I liked this first book enough…I don’t know, maybe? Seemed like the beginning took off in a good and exciting way but then I felt like Abby just caved and became this needy, ‘I’m never going to be wanted’ character. There were so many people introduced in this book that makes me wonder if there is another series about some of them…I’ll have to look into that. Anyway, I finished and of course there’s a teaser at the end for the next book…so, we’ll see 🙄 I appreciate the clean love story. I wish there were scripture verses included, or Christian depth.

I just love Liz and her books. I really like that you feel so connected to the characters and you feel like they are your friends and you are going on their journey with them.
I really enjoyed meeting the young family and getting to know them. I like that they are not a perfect family and that most of them have made some dumb choices but have learned from those choices. I loved Abby and Tex story and I loved that they both changed for the better for family and the both came to see that family is what matters in the end. I loved Bryce and I would love to see a book on him. This was a great second chance book and I can't wait to read about the other brothers and their stories

Tex left Coral Canyon to go to college and then to start the band with his brothers, he thought about Abigail but it didn't stop him. Now he's back with his son, Bryce, who's about to go senior school. He sees his old family's ranch is for auction and, having made enough money, he goes to make a bid, but Abigail, who lives next door to his family's ranch, is also there to bid on it. She gets in over her head and they make a deal.
Tex realises that he still has feelings for her and she, in turn, has never forgotten Tex.
Can they get through their differences? His need to go to Nashville to record an album?

    Another good read from Liz.

Great beginning to a new series.
    Good clean book.
Tex is back in Coral Canyon with his son Bryce.
Abby still lives next door and has plans for the old farm. Tex and Abby dated in high school but the relationship ended when Tex left.
When Tex finds out the farm is being auctioned off, he decides to buy it. Unfortunately Abby also wants to buy it. Abby outbids Tex but doesn’t have enough cash so they agree to each pay half.
Can Abby get over past hurts and accept Tex back into her life?

Oh my! The first book of another amazing series! These characters just jump off the page to you! I don’t know how this author keeps coming up with new and different story lines but I’ll be reading her books as long as she does!!! The interesting thing is how she also brings characters from previous series into the story but they don’t crowd out the new characters! Coral Canyon is once again the setting for this new family of cowboys. Music is the theme here. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I liked how the country singer, Tex, has recently gotten custody of his teenage son and returned to his hometown to live. I loved that he wanted to purchase his family's old ranch. Tex's old girlfriend, Abby, lives next door and wants to buy the property for herself which makes for an interesting auction! I enjoyed the closeness of Tex and his brothers and how his son, Bryce, takes charge in moving the romance along! I recommend this light romance to others. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Tex has gotten custody of his 17 year old son, Bryce. He has been touring with his country band. He's moved home to Coral Canyon. He has to record one more record for his contract, but he now wants to spend time with family.
Abigail is his high school sweetheart that he left behind. He bids on his family's farm that was sold years ago and has come up for auction. Abigail lives next door and wants the farm too. They end up being co-owners of the farm.
They have many ups and downs as they navigate their feelings and their future together.

  • Jamoz23

    Abby’s attitude was annoying.
I found it stupid that Abby over bid due to sheer obstinacy. That is an illegal thing to do at an auction.
And unfortunately she really never improved from then on in her attitude or temperament.
I’m not sure if she was meant to be cute but she was immature for her age.
I sort of liked the rest of it but the writing didn’t flow for me, the second chance premise just didn’t resonate with me at all and I won’t be reading the rest of this series.
