    It Falls Apart Book 1

I have read several of Mike Kraus’s books and this one did not disappoint. The story line was great, it felt like you were right there with them. Very descriptive. I can’t wait to see what Paul, Olivia and the little one are faced with in the next book. And what will happen to Terrance. I recommend this book to anyone who like to read about what I call survival books.

I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and an easy read. The characters I found enjoyable. The plot was simple and easy to follow.

    Super long-winded.
You don’t read an apocalyptic book and expect to be bored.
They should be action packed, character driven, page turners.
    This one isn’t.
And although so many died, it didn’t even feel dangerous.
    It was just quite blah.
Plus, plot holes were massive and hard to suspend disbelief long enough to get through it.
Not a series I would continue.

This is an interesting start to an apocalyptic situation, but I want to know the science behind the killer disease. What is it (virus?), what is its vector for transmission etc. The Chaos Dawn group behind this is also very interesting as are the hints of more disaster yet to be unleashed. I would likely have given this 4 stars, but the editing has let the story down. There were many errors in punctuation, word usage/spelling (fu instead of flu, waws instead of was, unexpected instead of unexpectedly). These should have been easy to catch with a focused proofreader. I look forward to the next book to see what happens and hope that the editing improves.

I love a good, fast paced, SHTF, end of the world book and this story did not disappoint. Yes, there were some things that made me roll my eyes - there always is in these types of books because no one is going to behave exactly the way you want them too - but for the most part, it was an exciting story with similar notes to our current pandemic. I wish Paul was a little more hardened and Olivia was a little more assertive but those are minor quibbles. The book ended on a cliff hanger which I expected because this is a trilogy. Will definitely be reading the next book.

    Good

Interesting turn of events. I love Mike Kraus books wether alone or written with another author.
Initially this starts with events taking place which escalate at speed. I lost myself and was so drawn into the actuality of being there. Mike & Barry have brought this book alive. How far will this virus travel as more of the bombs appear to be planted in various states. George Kettle is the man with the answers, Paul will stop at nothing to keep Olivia and Joyce safe. It looks like phase 1 is over leaving death and destruction behind, and phase 2 about to begin.

    Yet another winner

I have no idea where he gets his ideas, but Mike is able to make each of his apocalyptic series of books gripping and 'un-putdownable'. They don't really get boring or repetitive at all - good characters and scenarios, well written grammatically and moreish! Can't wait to see how Paul, Olivia and Joyce get on and what will happen in Stage 2!

    Too plausible for comfort....

As with so many of the books Mike Kraus coauthors, this one is frightening in its plausibility and possibility. Again, we come to know and care about the characters only to see them disappear, victims to the ongoing crisis and coming apocalypse. I am off to read Book 2!

    It falls apart.

Oh my, what a start to a series, tense, involved, frighteningly realistic in terms of pandemics. But where will it lead.

  • Carmel McKenzie

    Scarey

That was intense and really scary, it makes it more believable due to whats happening with covid19. I wonder if there will be just a handful of people left

    It falls apart

This book makes a person almost feel like you are there along side of these people feeling all they are feeling. Too
