He’s a death row inmate who only wants one thing…ME.
When he finds out that I’m here to cover his execution, he takes me hostage.
And now, there’s nothing standing between me and the most gorgeous, most powerful and most dangerous mob enforcer in the world: Wesley “Trigger” Balzaretti.
I should be scared, but instead I’m extremely turned on. But no, that can’t be, can it?
He’s as bad as they come. Some even say that he's the devil incarnate. So why does my entire body tingle when he says my name?
No no no no no…He’s starting to get in my head.
I should be focused on getting away from this psycho, but instead, I’m envisioning Wesley ravishing me.
Then when he looks at me with hungry eyes, my heart goes wild.
What’s wrong with me?! This was supposed to be my big break as a reporter. Instead, it’s going to be my biggest mistake.

*WARNING: This is an over-the-top book with explicit sex scenes, adult themes and adult language.

* Also, please note: This is a satirical romance in which the author uses humor or exaggeration to poke fun at a situation. Satire is a literary device and in accordance with it the writing is over-the-top on purpose. Enjoy! ;)

    Atrocious!

DNF @ 26%. Some people said they thought this was over the top terrible on purpose, but sadly I thought it was terrible for real. In what I read not a single thing that happened or comment made was even remotely realistic, not even for a fictional fantasy. If this author has Beta readers or friends reading her writing, they are not giving her truthful advice or criticism.

  • Darlene I read WAY to many books

This one was pretty short and fast pace with some steam.

Hands down Wesley was pretty OTT on some parts and boy he was already head over heels in lust/love with Elena he knows her from all the "articles" she written about him even if what he did wasn't true.. he was framed now hes getting the death sentence or so ppls think he makes sure Elena is his hostage he wants her to tell his real story as he gets proof and falls more deeper in love.  As for Elena at first she was sure he was guilty but once she saw his proof things change and her body sure wants him. Now they have to show the world his innocents.
And they both are struggling on can they escape or can Wesley escape and keep his hostage.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

This is a hilarious, over-the-top, light and short romance novel. I knew from the description it would be funny, but it’s in more of a sweet and ridiculous way than in a dark way (like the cover implies). Of course, Wesley is innocent of the crime he’s been convicted of, so he kidnaps a reporter to prove his innocence. That said, the book is a little too over the top, and if I hadn’t known it was supposed to be funny going in, I might have been pretty disappointed.
Recommended if you’re looking for a good laugh!

This was some crazy OTT insta-love/lust that you definitely need to suspend your disbelief in order to get through it.

Is it the most OTT story I've ever read? Not really, and normally unrealistic plots don't really phase me much, but, I have to agree that from start to finish, this story was riddled with things that were so outside the realm of possibility that it got more cheesy the more the story progressed.

From Wesley's luke warm introduction in the execution room, to his way too easy escape into the prison itself with literally no resistance to Elena going from a terrified hostage to a randy lovesick heroine in a matter of hours, gave me whiplash. It was just too much happening too fast. There wasn't enough time to really flesh out the characters and give them a personality outside the sexual attraction and when you pair insta-love/lust with OTT scenarios, their emotional connection really needs to be there for the reader to feel and root for.

Maybe if this was set in an alternate universe where the logic we know doesn't apply, this might have been a good read, but I've watched too many true crime, murder/mystery shows and have a tiny kernel of knowledge when it comes to the proper procedure for these type of scenarios.

Getting constant decision or actions that you know, deep down, would never stand a chance IRL kept pulling me from the story. In the end I read it all the way through because I'm a curious kitten at heart :)

Overall, not bad but it definitely had the potential to be so much more if the story would downgrade a bit of the OTT situations that defy logic with more realistic challenges/resolutions and gave the MCs a more solid foundation to base their love on.

A quick and fun OTT read. I would have enjoyed it more if Wesley had been a little more tough and alpha like considering his line of work but other than that it was an entertaining story.

You did warn us that this would be an over the top read, and boy was it! 😂 This read was also hilarious and a bit sweet! Wesley had it bad for the reporter covering his execution! If I didn't know any better, I would say he set this all up, just to meet her! He had all the ammunition needed to exonerate himself, but waited until he had "her" in his midst before doing so! Elena, going in to cover this story, had no idea what she was up against. When Wes decided to keep her captive, she was terrified and excited all at once! Why does this sexy monster want me, she wonders? They quickly forget they are in prison, while he gives her the information to help free him; as well as pleasure that she has never known! It was sweet that this supposed monster was goo goo over this woman, but I couldn't stop laughing as the storyline got even crazier! But, I have come to expect this from you, as it is what makes a Julie Thorn book! Enjoyed it! 👍👍👍

This was it the story that is going to be her star finally rising. She’s been chosen to report on the execution of Wesley Balzaretti the once upon a time enforcer for the mob. Surely nothing could go wrong, that until it does. Within a blink of an eye the man sentenced to death is the one holding her life in his hands when he takes her hostage. He has always claimed to be innocent and it looks like he is going to use her to prove it. Spending time together she realises he is in fact innocent and the chemistry between them is about to blaze out of control. Can they prove his innocence together or is going to lose the man she loves?

Wesley is getting desperate, he is about to die for a crime that he didn’t commit. Taking Elena hostage is the only way he can think of getting more time and get what really happened out in to the world, but the desire this woman invokes in him is like nothing he ever imagined. Will he convince her of his innocence or is it already too late?

Quick entertaining read totally out of the realms of realism and a perfect escape from everyday life. Really like both of the main characters, easy to read and enjoyable storyline. 4* read.

Ravished by the Inmate is a bit far fetched as a story but you know what i kinda liked that it was. Elena (FMC) ends up in the middle of a hostage situation when she goes to report on the execution of Wesley. A plot twist and some very steamy scenarios follow. It sounds like a dark read but it actually wasnt and the dynamic between Wesley & Elena was quite endearing in parts. I really enjoyed reading this book. My only criticism is that i wished it was longer

    Good read

It's a good read because even though the truth comes out it didn't just end there. Plus let's not forget the juicy parts.

  • Ashley Bryan

    Cute

I love a good HEA and this one was super cute! Great short read! Yay for the stingrays! 10/10 would recommend.

Ok I really liked this story. Loved how the story got going right away and the whole plot of it. It's got suspense, a little bit of humor and some steamy bits. It's not exactly realistic but that was actually something that I liked about it. The insta love is great and the characters have an interesting circumstance to come together. I liked Wesley and Elena, but the only thing I'd have to say is that they seemed quite immature for their age. Overall, it was a fun read that I enjoyed.

Elena has zero idea that her going to an execution would take on the life that it did.

Wesley is a dead man walking but has a master plan to prove a crime he's accused of, he didn't commit. But the circumstances put him in the path of one woman who will be his salvation. She just had to be his captive first.

These two put the hot in hot. The chemistry is so intense you want to buy a few bottles of it. The over the top-ness was just so good. It's a quick read but I did get to know our leads and fell hard for them. Elena is the right mix of innocent and minx. Wesley is the bad man your mother warned you about but you're going to rebel and want anyway.

I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

One wrongly accused convict and one unexpecting woman made for quite a steamy read. This was wild and hot and I enjoyed it all as it had the right amount instalove, possessive alpha, and steamy action.

This was an over the top, Insta-love, Insta-ravish, sex on a stick.
O my Alpha male where have you been all my life story.

Fun quickie escapist read! Elena (h), a newspaper reporter, is at a maximum security prison to witness the execution of Wesley (H), a convicted murder, when he breaks loose and ends up taking her captive on the cell block. Wesley's been set-up as the fall guy by corrupt political cronies, but he has managed to get evidence of freedom. He needs Elena to help get the evidence out to the public and tell the truth, but the more time they spend together the hotter things get in the cell. Spend some time in solitary and enjoy a little escape!

    Overturned

What I found funny is the ease in which Wesley took the guard hostage in the death chamber and then Elena. In my mind all I can see is something is about to drop. The inticate story and the way things happened are like whaatttt..i would have looved to see the storry have a little more back ground on welsey being and inenforcer and knowing who the kille of the store owner is.

Love does happen like that immediately..thenstory was farfetchec but interesting...and truth be told in this worls fiction and non fiction..anything is possible. This story proves it.

  • ChaosKay

Elena has been sent to cover the execution of Wesley “Trigger” Balzaretti who has been tried for the killing of a shop keeper. Things go wrong at the execution and Wesley gets free taking Elena as hostage. The chemistry between them both is there from the start and you just know things are going to get steamy and I wasn’t disappointed . Loved the story and Wesley and Elena love how Elena got a backbone and stood up for what was right and loved the epilogue especially the swing bit.
