Much, MUCH better than the last installment!! This story is back to the original engaging and addictive read that I fell in love with! Yes, the redundancy in repeating the same information - just from different points of view - is still there but it can be tolerated because the overall is so good! Things are moving forward, secrets are beginning to be revealed and the relationship between Tasia and Roaul is tentatively strengthening nicely. I just hope the next and final book in this series publishes before I have completely forgotten the awesomeness that is promised.

I don’t l know where to begin with this review. I have been an avid follower of this beautifully crafted series right from the start, and this book adds yet more detailed layers of intrigue and suspense.
The Paladin is the continuation of the epic journey of a witch who, hidden in plain sight, is frequently underestimated and who holds in her hands the destiny of all those she befriends and all those she would consider her enemies.
The characters are so well written and developed. Tasia and Raoul remain centre stage the secretive, powerful young woman and the equally secretive and powerful man. There is a constant push and pull between these two and their slow burn romance is the stuff made of legends. These two, along with the plethora of other minor and major characters, are standing on a precipice, and there is a constant feeling of ill-ease and self doubt—one false move and their fragile world could come tumbling down.
The author has devised an intricate masterpiece; her vivid descriptions create an expansive world, in which I have become totally immersed. The writing is superb and the premise unique and bewitching.
The serious nature of the characters predicament is always at the forefront; there is a constant underlying threat and fear, but there is also a good deal of humour as well as banter between friends and lovers that adds lightness to the proceedings.
This is the penultimate book in the series, and the characters are moving inexorably to their prophesied fates…the future for all hangs in the balance. The Paladin can not be read in isolation, but why would anyone want to when the previous books are ready and waiting to be devoured. An epic 5 stars…I received and early copy of this book from the author -
Tasia divided
Tasia has been bounced all over the place, physically and emotionally. The dance with the Pack Alpha, her magic and the consequences of discovery, the enlightenment of the bind formed, kidnapping attempts, ambushes, traveling the glove hunting clues on the rogue wizard, and all of it revolves around a prophecy involving the future of the Chosen. It's an enormous burden for a young wizard hybrid holding her powers in check.
Spoilers ahead.
The time for hiding her powers is about over. Sienna's visions and the prophecy are are starting to come together. It's been interesting getting to this point. I think, if I'm reading things correctly, that there is 1 book left in the series. That puts a lot of pressure to wrap things up, or at least leave it open ended to where a spinoff can keep the world going. I would be interested in seeing more of this created world. Novellas that give us insight into the sisters' thoughts, and how they (when off screen) deal with the Pack and their own relationships. The odd POV from Elisabetta and others doesn't make much sense, it would be better to have the more central characters notice their expressions or inner monologue about noticed behaviors. The light bulb about the true players in the prophecy comes to light, finally. No more supposition and false leads. I am anxiously awaiting this arena scene we're building up to. When vampires, blood mages, sirens and ancient ones collide. -
Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was so excited to read this book by Petra Landon and to continue the Saga of the Chosen series. This book did NOT disappoint. I feel like it might be the best one in the series so far. I loved every single thing about it, I rushed through and was kinda sad when the book ended. I do feel things will really get going in the next book, so this book definitely left me excited for the next installment!

I really recommend starting this series if you love magic and fantasy. Petra Landon's writing style only gets better. The characters evolve through every single book, the plot gets thicker and the tension builds. It's exactly what you want from a series that you've invested yourself in! -
I have been lucky enough to receive ARCs for each of the book in this series.
I have loved every single one if the books. Usually, when reading a series you come across one of the installments that just doesn't hit the mark. Not so for this series, every book as been fantastic, building and building as the story goes. It is amazing how many characters play big rolls in this series and I'm not sure we have even met them all yet.
I applaud the author for continuing to surprise and shock me with a twist and turn I did not see coming. Just well done!!!
Can't wait for book 5! -
I love this series, it just keeps getting better!
This latest installment is such a rollercoaster of emotions - I'm absolutely cheering for Tasia whose character went through biggest development.
I received an early copy of this story from the author. -
can’t wait for the next book!
This book revealed some long awaited secrets…..then it ended!!! lol I enjoyed it and would love another 100 pages. Alas, I’ll have the wait for the final book in the series. -
Amazing yet again!!
Petra Landon's brilliance shines in new and unexpected ways with this sensation.
The Paladin had me enthralled. Throughout the series the story and characters have been so consistent, which is amazing in itself with such a large cast of characters. The group dynamic is perfection. These books have everything.
I was shocked and surprised at the revelation of the Rainmaker and the Champion. There have been hints in the last few books and still it blindsided me. Tasia with her head down, has hid in plain sight never drawing attention to herself. Can she embrace the rare and special bond to the dangerous Alpha Protector or will she walk away from all she holds dear to keep Raoul and the pack safe. Stakes have never been higher. Does she alone hold the faith of the Chosen world in her hands? In the end who will stand with her and what choices will she be forced to make.
I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend the entire series. In fact, I just restarted the series from the beginning. The Prophecy is even more exciting the second time around. I can’t want of The Griffin. -
brilliant
.the story continues and you cannot stop reading to see see what happens to the characters and storyline. Cannot wait for the next book.
