  Confession and Friendly Faces
  
  I have a confession to make. There were several times that I wanted to walk away from this book. Not because of poor writing or anything like that. But Ellis O Day possibly did too good of a job writing a man that was devoid of typical reactions and the inability of sharing his thoughts without condescension. Harker's near clinical, emotionless responses to various situations made me want to scream at him while my heart broke for Alison.
  
  Of course, walking away was never really on the table because I've read several of her books and I know the wait is worth it. In this, there was absolutely no disappointment because, while there are some hilarious and cringey moments, the combustion that finally comes is terrific! There is also some terrific banter, even when Harker is being a... barker.
  
  I will be diving into the second book to see how Harker digs himself out of that last blunder. *rubbing hands together rapidly* I can't wait!
  
  Oh, for those that have read other stories under the La Petite Mort Club umbrella, you will see plenty of familiar faces pop up. If this is your first book under LPMC, don't worry. You're in good hands and have nothing to worry about. The Billionaire's Baby series can be read independent of the other books / series under LPMC but the books within this particular series should be read in order.

  Alison works for Harker he makes a deal with her to have his baby!! The banter between the two of them is juvenile at best silly at worse.
  
  They don't even have sex until the end of the story and there is not mention of the baby. The story just ends abruptly!! No real ending!!

  When you have waited for ages for a new book from a favourite author there is an anxiety; will it be worth the wait? will it be as good as you hoped? are they still a favourite?
  The answer is Yes, yes, oh, yes!
  The Baby Bargain is the first of four stories about Harker ('Don't call me Gus!') and Alison - whose mouth has no brake - and they form part of the La Petite Mort Club canon (and so some familiar faces pop up for existing fans). As is the case with Ellis O Day we have wonderful characters and humorous situations and terrific sexual tension - and later some hot easing of that tension.
  Harker isn't getting any younger and he wants to leave his vast wealth to his progeny, but since he has none he wants Alison, but he thinks he only wants her to be the mother of his child. Alison has purposefully ignored that Harker is an attractive man because he's her boss, and she wants to get on by merit alone. The development of this relationship is agony, joy, and hilarity wrapped up in brilliant compelling writing. I cannot wait for the rest of these stories!

  This new series by Ellis is such fun! I almost read non-stop through the entire series. Picture it. Wooden spoon in one hand, stirring pasta sauce; Kindle in other hand. Toothbrush in one hand; Kindle in other. You get the idea. I didn’t try to do that while I was driving, though.
  
  Allison is a sweet, big-hearted person, and has spent many hours of work overtime developing a computer app for Harker’s business. As the boss, Harker is uber-focused on personal success in all things, and more than a little arrogant. He offers her a deal to have his baby. She signs on the dotted line. Overall, they’re kind of opposites. But in one way, they’re perfectly alike: neither will give in to the other if they think it means losing. But that is what makes this story so great. These two can’t resist battling each other for supremacy. It makes them such fun to read. And they also can’t resist each other in bed. So. dam. hawtt.
  
  The author composed plenty of humorous situations for the pair, too. I love humor in a romance story, and Ellis is so talented at that. My favorite was a very preggo Allison “power-waddling” through a grocery store, piling their cart up with jalapeno cheese, Pop-Tarts, and eating cold sauerkraut straight from the jar. So, if you love humor and angst; and going from endless arguments to never-ending ardor, you will love this series, The Billionaire’s Baby. 5 Stars.

  Not much more to say. When the story is just plan stupid and so far fetched, then skimming to see of it gets better (it doesn’t) is one answer. Another would to stop reading. That’s what I should have done.

  Offensive and ends in cliffhanger
  
  This is spread out across 4 books and is not worth the money. It is poorly written with typos and a lack of emotion. The characters are completely insensitive to each other’s feelings. At least the heroine is well meaning but the love interest is a jerk who holds his power over her and insults her to make his ego feel better. Instead of telling her he likes her, he essentially forced her into marriage to get what she’s worked hard for so he can have sex with her. He makes her feel like she’s unattractive and feeds her insecurities when she accidentally bruises his ego by not falling all over herself at the chance to sleep with him and have his baby. Even in his head he constantly thinks he’s only attracted to her personality because physically he has had better. He even cheats on her on their wedding night with an ex who he thinks is prettier after he made them sign a contract demanding monogamy; if he wasn’t interrupted, it would have been completely unforgivable. How is anyone supposed to feel sexy or wanted when their partner doesn’t even think they’re pretty? This is completely offensive.

  I just wanted something different but I am pleasantly surprised by this book.
  
  Alison is annoying. To me at least. But I appreciate her honesty and her limits. I can see her adjusting to the series of events and transitions from employee to whatever she is to Harker.
  
  Harker started as the type A personality I usually love but then he got a little soft. I don't know. I love his character though. I just wish this story didn't have dom/sub undertones. I avoid those books for a reason but I must say the sex is good.
  
  By this point, I thought Alison would be pregnant and into the second trimester. However, we have only been working out the kinks of all this.
  
  I will continue with this series because I want to see what they become to each other. I know Harker's feelings. I am still uncertain about Alison's feelings and I want to see them as parents.

  I like the way Ellis O. Day writes erotica. I like the respect she gives the world of BDSM and I love the way she has fun with sex (and by the way, to all those prudes out there, sex should be fun and if it isn't for you, then you're doing it wrong).
  
  This book was, in my mind, light on the one reason I read her books - erotica. I liked the characters although Harker rubbed me the wrong way for about 3/4 of the book. I think Allison could have been given a little bit more brains. I didn't necessarily care for her ditzy side. But I read the book, didn't find anything wrong, knew it was a cliffhanger (sort of, it ends on a Happy For Now for Harker and Allison), and am perfectly willing to read the next one in the series.

  I understand why authors do series. I really do but it's usually better when they're standalone in series types.
  This story actually bugs me and I can't really put my finger on why... it's strange.
  Harker is a jerk. Flat out. He's an insecure jerk. Don't get me started on the jabber jaw he "chooses to want a baby with". All they do is argue and get hurt feelings rather than actually talking to one another. This whole thing would go a lot more smoothly if contracts were actually read and it wasn't a business arrangement. Sex is never just a business arrangement. Not interested in reading the rest of the series.

  Caught in a lie! Ok this starts off pretty good with Allison working with grumpy Harker, her boss, but what she doesn’t know is that he wants her to have a child for him to leave as an heir to his fortune. Unfortunately he is not in a relationship and Allison is just about to go out with someone she matched with to see if it flourishes to something worth while, but then he puts a stop to it with some nonsense of working.
  
  The story gets really good the day of the wedding and after, these two are still working together but have a contract, unfortunately this book ends when he is caught in a lie and poor Katie is about to get fired!

  I LOVE a great smut story, but every time I think I've found a great book it turns out to be a three chapter wonder 😲. I realize that author's need to make money, but when you get sucked into a $2.99 short and then you pay again and again and again, well by the end of the book you've spent over $20.00 or MORE 🤑. As much as I Love your stories Ellis, I just can't afford that, I'm on SSI which doesn't leave much for goodies 😪. Thanks Ellis, maybe I'll get lucky and find this series bound together for an amount I can afford 🤓.

  I won’t sugar coat this: Harker is a jerk. And by calling him only a jerk, I’m being much kinder to him than he deserves. There are hints that there’s a heart hidden behind his robotic business exterior, but we don’t get to see him using it in this book. On the other side of that coin, Alison is all heart. Her passion for her work and for caring for her family are clear to see on every page. Her self-doubts about her appearance and desirability broke my heart. The author is going to have an uphill battle, as we get deeper into the series, convincing me to forgive Harker for his mistakes.

  I should have read the description to double check but be warned this ends on a cliffhanger. The Baby Bargain was a good read overall. It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for a while and I was all in for it! I wish the two of them had taken some time to talk earlier in the book. Lots of confused thoughts about one another that dragged on for sometime but nothing that was too distracting. They finally come together towards the end and you get that HEA just before the cliffhanger hits and leaves you wanting more.

  Opposites attract
  
  Harker and Alison make a deal to make a baby. He gets a kid; she gets part ownership in her program. Billions and hearts are on the line. She's insecure about her body, questioning why he'd want her. She brings forth insecurities in him as well. How will they ever get to baby-making? Steamy as all get out and funny at times, this book is a real page-turner. Cliffhanger ending definitely leaves me wanting more.

  This was fine as far as it went but I am becoming heartily sick of authors selling half finished books as complete. When a book has a sequel, it is usually after the first story has been completed, NOT just sopped in the middle. This feels to me like I have been scammed.
