Either way, betrayal and heartache have been my friends for far too long and it’s time for me to start over.
I gave the Harlequin boys a chance to change. A chance to prove that history wasn’t just set to repeat itself. But they failed with spectacular colours.
Maybe it’s time for me to stop running. After all, Sunset Cove has been living under the Harlequins’ thumb for far too long. It’s time to set our demons free and let them burn this place to the ground. Who knows if I’ll survive the fallout?
But I guess I’ll soon find out if dead girls can die twice.
This is an enemies to lovers contemporary series where the girl will end up with multiple love interests and all of the characters are in their late twenties.

3.75/5 ⭐
3/5 🌶️
“The two of us really were a pair of damaged creatures. But somehow, when we were together, that fact didn't seem to hurt so much.”
Nothing really happens until 75% of the book. It’s drawing out. This book is a big improvement on the first one. More action, more romance, more spice. I have faith it will pick up. Hopefully in book three. Chase definitely redeems himself in my eyes right here, now just to get him back and the other's on the same page or closer to it. The cliff hanger is a punch in the gut, thankfully this series is complete.
Quotes:
“Love is obsession. Love’s the thing you can’t control, that binds you to someone whether they want you or not. It’s a gift to those who feel it towards each other, and the most excruciating curse when it’s unrequited.”
“Because the world is bad and dark, but it’s good and light too. Maybe the good redeems it just enough, even if that good isn’t meant for me.”
“This kiss wasn't like the others, it was slower, deeper, full of pain and heartache and all the time we'd been without each other. It said I owned him as much as he'd just owned me.”
“Hate is just love that caught fire.” -
So the end of the last book one of the boys betrayed her , I figured we were finally going to get the revenge that has been sold to us since the beginning of the book. I should have realized some authors have perfected the 'act of unnecessary drama that suckers you into buying book 2 and leads you no where'.
This book is a rehash of the last one with her ex showing up in this one. I didn't really read it, I skipped all the flashbacks , tried to see if the secret in the crypt will finally be revealed so I know what it was, alas that didn't happen. Instead, I had to read about all the things this "DEAD GIRL" could and couldn't do. Some mentions;
"Dead girls don't fear death.
"Hell hath no fury like a dead girl scorned"
"I was a dead girl walking and what doesn't kill me only made me stron_"
That and all the talk about the green power ranger had me regretting my impulse read. -
“I realised she’d always been ours, even when I wanted her for myself. We all belonged to each other in a way that defied the laws of nature, like we were one soul torn apart at the beginning of our creation and housed in five bodies that could never escape one another.”
There's so much I want to say about this book, but first of all: the crossover. When Saint appeared, I let out a very unbecoming sound, ngl. And then Tatum was fucking perfect and exactly what Rogue needed. I was over the moon reading about my favorite characters all meeting up.
But then JJ started talking about Dark Fae and I nearly lost it. Of course he thought Leon was the one to listen to, because he's the Leon of this story. And of-fucking-course Fox thought Gabriel was on the right, because they are both unbearable controlling assholes lol
I had two favorite things in this book:
JJ AND ROGUE
“I don’t even remember a time I didn’t love her. I think I was born with a heart that already belonged to her and there’s no changing it, it beats for that girl and I’m its slave.”
“Everything’s so fucked, but when I’m with you it feels a whole lot less fucked, and I love that. And maybe, hopefully, I can figure out how to give you everything because that’s how it feels when I’m with you. Like I’m just so full of…everything.”
JJ is definitely the best male character in these books so far. His romance with Rogue made me swoon and got me even teary eyed a few times. They were so scared to open up to each other again, and their chemistry was so amazing, I was in total rapture. Then JJ did what I had been waiting for all along: he accepted and understood Rogue was not picking one of them, but all of them and I knew he was the one for me. I’m waiting for him to pull a Leon and “help” Rogue get her harem together lol
That scene with them and Maverick was such a nice surprise. I loved everything about it. And this leads to my second favorite thing in this book:
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE GUYS
The fact that Maverick, JJ and Chase left their differences aside for Rogue was swoon worthy. I just love to read about male characters who hate each other but overcome their differences for the girl. And this series is giving me this to a new high level.
Fox, bless his soul, at least tried to be better for Rogue. He even admitted he had no idea how to treat women, especially Rogue. He even read Twilight and had one of the funniest lines in the whole book (“What would Edward Cullen do?”) But in the end, his character still needs to grow up a lot. I can see where he is heading and I cannot wait, but this definitely wasn’t his book to shine yet.
On the other hand, Chase won me over completely. Oh my poor tortured soul. He believes he’s so undeserving of love while he’s willing to give his life for his brothers and Rogue. The combination created such a dreamy character. What happened to him towards the end made my heart hurt. And then that ending?? God, I need the next book right fucking now.
Maverick… It’s funny because at first he seemed to be this unhinged, dangerous bastard. And after a few weeks with Rogue back in his life, he was completely whipped and ready to do anything for her. And you know how much I adore simping men. I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole Mia thing, but then he pulled a JJ and admitted he couldn't get hard for anyone that wasn't Rogue anymore and I loved that shit, ngl.
Fox’s dad was such a nice surprise, too. I can actually see where the character is coming from with his explanations and way of reasoning. And it’s pretty obvious he loves his boys and is trying to do what he believes is best for them. That being said, he’s going to die… isn’t he? 😅 I'm trying not to get attached just in case, but ugh I really loved him in this book.
Apparently the last book’s release date has been pushed back to the end of the month, so now I have to pace my reading so I don’t have to wait a few weeks to finish the series 😩 -
I AM SO UPSET THAT I HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG TO FIND OUT WHY THE END OF THE FIRST BOOK ENDED THAT WAY AND I'M STILL A MESS.

"I hate the world and it hates me back, but I wouldn’t destroy it.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because the world is bad and dark, but it’s good and light too. Maybe the good redeems it just enough, even if that good isn’t meant for me.”
It was good, addictive, funny and tensioned and everything you might expect from the sisters. I loved the crossover with Kings of Quarantine and the Zodiac Academy and Dark Fae mentions and I'm generally being utterly happy to have another series from these amazing women. It may not be a masterpiece, but all the emotions are there and that's what I'm always looking for in a book, so, again, this definitely gets 5 unashamed stars.
》》The Plot《《
The second book picks up the story just where the first book has ended, with Rogue being taken out of prison by Maverick and JJ, Fox and Chase returning home after their failed heist. I feel like this book was great at allowing Rogue and Maverick to connect, reinforce the relationship between JJ and Rogue and start the redemption arc for Chase.
“I think I was a mermaid in another life,” Rogue mused, squeezing one of her own tits as if comparing its size to the ones in the fountain.
I snorted. “I think I was a seashell in another life then because I wanna be stuck on your tits all day.”
I liked the little twists here and there, the unexpected turn up of Luther and all the references and crossovers with other series and, as always, the ending was a brutal cliffhanger to keep us hooked.
》》Characters and Relationships《《
🌈🧑🏽Rogue and JJ
“Just tell me one thing. Are you sure nothing with him or…any of them change stuff between you and me? Are you sure you’re not gearing up to choose one of us?”
I shook my head, looking into his honey brown eyes and begging him to see how much I meant that.
“No. It’s not like that. It’s not about picking or favourites or anything. It’s just me and you…and them. Like it always was and yet not like that at all, and I know it’s all fucked up but I just-”
JJ is still very much my favorite. He's sweet and funny and understanding and his scenes with Rogue are always nice. I'm enjoying the sneaking around, the sweetness of their time togheter and how comfortable they are around each other.
🌈🧑🏻💼Rogue and Maverick
"The two of us really were a pair of damaged creatures. But somehow, when we were together, that fact didn't seem to hurt so much."
This book was definitely here to help these two bond. They had an amazing connection that actually made sense, especially with all the hurt, the loneliness and the feelings of betrayal.
“So are you gonna keep on pretending you didn’t kiss me out there or are you going to explain why you mouth humped me out of the blue?” I called over the sound of the running water.
“Call it curiosity,” Maverick replied. “I wanted to know if you tasted like a candy cane or only looked like one.”
“And?”
“You taste like sin, beautiful, which just so happens to be my favourite flavour.”
It was easy to love them and even easier to ship them and I was pleasantly surprised by how full of teasingly humor were their scenes. The sparks were immediate, the spice was totally on point and Maverick’s opened mind regarding sharing took me by surprise.
🌈🧑🏼Rogue and Fox
“I like this,” she breathed huskily.
“Like what?” I murmured, closing the distance between our mouths by another inch.
“When you’re this Fox…old Fox…my Fox.”
“I’m always your Fox, even when you hate me.”
I don't know how to feel about them. I like Fox, but he's way too protective and way too blind to the emotions of those around him. And, while I like him and Rogue togheter, I just don't see him accepting the idea of sharing.
"After a couple of hours, I was firmly on team Gabriel in the book and didn’t know what JJ had been talking about when he said to take notes from Leon. Gabriel was the girl’s one true mate and he knew it, sure he was acting like an asshole, but I was guessing he’d figure it out sooner or later."
Also, remember when I said Fox gave me Gabriel vibes? Well, the fact that he's reading the book and having Gabe as his favorite character is soooooo fulfilling at a totally different level.
🌈🧑🏻Rogue and Chase
"I fucking hate you, Chase," I said, my voice raw and my hands shaking where I held the gun as more and more sounds of destruction came from around us and I tasted our death in the air. "I hate you so fucking much, but I love you too. I've always fucking loved you and that's the problem, isn't it?"
Considering how the last book ended, I think it was time for some Chase teasing and redemption and I utterly loved seeing Rogue bossing him around. While I can't say their relationship has progressed much, it was enjoyable to watch Chase battling with his feelings and trying to understand what Rogue could be for him.

Three out of five now, huh? I suppose JJ will be joining us soon too when Fox finds out he’s been taking a taste of the forbidden pussy,” I said, dropping that little bomb on him.
“You know about them?” he gasped, his finger sliding onto the trigger of his gun.
“I’m not gonna tell Foxy. If I was going to tell him, don’t you think I would have done it by now? Besides, I rather enjoyed being inside Rogue while she sucked JJ’s cock the other day, I might do it again before Foxy blows his brains out.”
“What?” he gasped.

》》Conclusion《《
“I can walk, donkey dick,” she snapped and I grunted irritably, moving aside and gesturing for her to get out with a dramatic bow.
“This way, your fucking highness,” I growled.
“Thank you, peasant,” she said lightly.
I'm hooked and I'm not even surprised about it. I missed being addicted to their work so I'm happy to have this series at hand. Rogue and the boys are lovable characters, the spice is good, the smart-ass retorts are funny and on point and the emotions are everything.
“Just read this,” he commanded in a growl and I looked down at the book as I took it in my hands. The cover had a lilac haired girl on it wearing a black dress, looking all mysterious and shit. The title was Dark Fae.
“Is this fantasy?”
“Yeah, the sexy kind. It’s like Twilight if everyone was fucking and killing each other all the time. It’s got gangs and enemies to lovers and you’ll get a boner every other chapter.”
“Um, okay,” I agreed. “And this will help with Rogue?”
“Definitely,” he said. “Just focus on Leon’s character. He’s got the answers.” He looked seriously excited about something, but I had no idea what it was.
I know I've said this way too many times, but I loved having all the references to the other series here, especially the one to Dark Fae and the reverse harem situation there. -

Overall Opinion :
I have been crazy for this installment! Rogue and her boys are the best. Their interactions are the best and they made me laugh so bad! I was so freaking angry at Chase by the end of book1 but as usual these authors play with our emotions so well that my feelings for him are totally different now.
The plot of the book is perfect and I loved it so much. I don’t know who told these evil authors that their cliffhangers are not that bad now so they have made it extra painful this time lol.
I would definitely recommend this book to all those crazy RH romance lovers. If second chance romance with a kickass heroine and her crazy boys is your jam then one click this series asap! It’s an amazing ride!

Yeah, still not amazing. It’s disheartening. I really don’t understand the appeal. Still waiting for the revenge that was promised to us. Unnecessary dramas. Lots of rumblings and skimming from my part. Nothing really happens until 85% of the book. Rogue is not much an enjoyable character and I personally like transparency in relationships even reverse harem ones, and Rogue is switching left to right without the guys really knowing about it and it left a bad taste in my mouth. If you’re such a badass why don’t you sit down and talk? Be honest with the guys ? She’s supposed to be the MC but she’s lacking everything that would make her interesting or incredible. For such a badass Seeking revenge and such, she’s pretty mediocre in my opinion. I still find myself quit intrigue with the plot, and I love the setting of the book. I’ll read the third book hoping it’s the end and only because I don’t see the point of stopping almost at the end, but frankly I wouldn’t bother with this series. I love the Darkmore penitentiary by the same authors and Rosa is a much better heroine than Rogue ( of course I know that they are different but still, they kind of have the same vibe and I much enjoyed Rosa’s POV than Rogue one <- see what I did there? Anyone liking Star Wars? 😂) anyway, I’m curious about the ending so I’m planning on following with the last book.
2 stars for my bae Maverick and my little cinnamon rolls Foxy. -

The authors keep dashing out such amazing and addictive books that I am officially out of words to praise them...
Every world written by the Celestial sisters are pure gold, best of literature I have ever read.
The characters are brought to life with such perfection that. The bets part is the writing style in these books...the humor and then the emotional moments...bravo!👏👏👏
Rouge and her men...Maverick, Fox, JJ, Chase has won my heart with their second chance Romance...Their past and present merge beautifully. My feelings were all over the place reading this book...Rogue is a strong, determined, sassy character but when it comes to love she is at lost...what she doesn't know is the boys from her childhood never stopped feeling for her. I loved that we get to see more of Maverick in this book opposing what happened in book 1...
Let's get to that cliffhanger...its no secret that the sisters are the queens of Cliffhanger...and they have prove once again with this brutal cliffy with potential to kill us with want...I need the next book like my next breathe...
I recommend this whole series and every other series by these authors...believe me..you may be just one book away from your next 5 stars read. -
Caroline and Susanne have outdone themselves again. They have written such an amazing story with Dead Man’s Isle. Dead Man’s Isle is the Second Book in the The Harlequin Crew book series. I am seriously in love and obsessed with this series.
So, a little about this series would be rather nice, don’t you think? The main Female Character is named Rogue, and we first encounter her in the Prequel to the series, “Devil’s Pass.” This prequel is a must read so you can dive into “Sinner’s Playground” and finally, this gem right here Book 2 >> “ Dead Man’s Isle.” Rogue is a fearless female who has gone through hell and back. She was almost murdered by her ex-boyfriend in “Sinner’s Playground” and she has many trials and tribulations she needs to get through in order to achieve her HEA with her boys.
5.0 out of 5 stars for this reverse harem lovers’ rollercoaster of a ride! Dead Man’s Isle is the second book in the Harlequin Crew series, a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance (it can’t get any better than this). I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend reading Devil's Pass, the prequel novella set 10 years before the first book, Sinner’s Playground.
This was another slow death for me with Book 2. Caroline and Susanne know how to effectively rip your heart out with their words. What a thrill ride to say the least. And that cliffy!!! Why oh why must these books always end with a cliffy beyond belief.
Highly recommend to all!! You need to get your hands in the prequel novella soo you can endure the amazing torture with me with Books 1 and 2!! Don’t take my word for it, pick up the prequel and literally read through all 2 books back to back. -
Dead Man's Isle is the second installment within The Harlequin Crew series. Just like the previous two books, I completely devoured this in one sitting. There's just something about these gangs and all the drama. It's just way too easy to eat up and I can't wait to dive into the next book.
I'll admit that the one thing that pissed me off was getting a chapter from Shawn's POV. I seriously don't like the asshole and can't wait for him to die. Hopefully it will happen in the next book but maybe it won't. I'm also really happy with how things are progressing between her, Maverick and JJ. Maybe we will get closer with Chase or Fox in the next one.
Other than that, these guys need to stop trying to claim her for just themselves. They are being pretty selfish and if they all opened their eyes maybe they could see the pros of sharing her. It's not like she wants anyone else, and their bond is something special. I was also wondering when Luther was going to figure out about her being back. Wasn't surprised one bit when they finally had the talk.
In the end, I'm not happen with how things ended. Certain betrayals annoyed me but were pretty easy to spot coming. Definitely excited to jump into the next book! -
Grab your surfboards and your sunscreen because we are back in Sunset Cove where the days are warm, people are smiling, everyone is safe and there is happiness in the air. Oh wait, wrong place nevermind. Once again we are thrown into a place of violence, betrayal and okay we do get some serious steamy time so that counts as a plus.
The book picks up where the last one left off. Maverick takes Rogue back to Death Man’s Isle. While there she tells him what happened and they form a plan to take down their common enemies. It was nice seeing them reconnect again. We learn a bit about Maverick’s life in prison and see how it has shaped him. We also find out why he is trying to take down his brothers and the Harlequin crew. Considering we only got a tiny glimpse of him in the last book it was something I was very excited for. Rogue comes back to Sunset Cove with her need for revenge. She soon finds out the truth of what happened on the ferry and things get a bit more complicated. Since losing Rogue for a second time Fox is more possessive than ever. He won’t let her be by herself and tries keeping her locked away. Of course Rogue doesn’t back down and fights him with every decision. JJ and Rogue fall back into their behind the scenes relationship. JJ is scared to tell Fox about his feelings but he can’t keep her emotions at bay when it comes to Rogue. Chase, oh boy this guy is going to give me whiplash. I didn’t hate him like most people after the last book. I mostly found him irritating for holding a grudge for 10 years. We see him hit rock bottom in this book though and start to question his worth. Of course that doesn’t stop him from taking his anger out on Rogue but she gives it to him right back.
Rogue once again proves why she captured these boys' hearts. She is fierce, snarky, and can rock booty shorts like no one else. We get to see some flashbacks of her with Shawn and it just made my hate for him so much stronger. She broke my heart a few times in this book and I hope she realizes just because she is broken doesn’t mean she has to be alone. In the end they are all broken, and that's why they fit so well together.
The biggest shock of this book was Luther. I’m not sure what to think of him and what his true motives are. Part of me wants him to be good but with these authors you never know. We get more Shawn in this book and see how crazy he really is. Mutt is the star of this book once again. I can’t wait until book 3 and after that cliffhanger I’m glad it’s the next book so I don’t have to wait too long! Here’s to hoping Jake makes an appearance in the next book and finally gets his jellybeans. -
UGHHHH😩😩😩
I WISH I was in love with this series the way I am with ZA and Ruthless Boys, but it’s just not doing it for me😭
I’m going to keep reading because I’m honestly just curious where this series will go, and the boys have grown on me a bit apart from Fox, but I honestly still can’t stand the main character. Which is really sad because I adore Elise, Tory, and Darcy, but Rogue is just careless to an annoying degree.
Also, Sean is literally Negan, tell me I’m wrong😂 -
This was even better than I thought it’d be (and I was thinking it was going to being amazing so..). This world pulled me right back in and had a good time with my feelings-heartbreak,love,laughter,hate, and so much more. Also, there were some very very 🔥🔥🔥 scenes. I love all the POVs we get but man, do they love to mess with your racing heart by giving you mini little cliffhangers when switching sometimes. Savages.
And if you’re intrigued my Saint Memphis or Tatum definitely check out Kings of Quarantine (a completed RH bully romance series). -
For the majority of this book I was very anti Chase. This ending though, it’s pretty savage 😱😱😱 Here I thought Luther was going to be the problem and turns out the Harelquin gang is even more fractured than ever and in comes their greatest enemy and also Rogues skeezy (tried to kill her) ex. These authors enveloped my whole life with this crazy unbelievable, but equally unputdownable drama and rom@nce. Mutt remains the real MVP of the book and I’m so glad he’s such a big character because he has one hell of a doggy personality. I could have done without a lot of Mavericks ‘dirty talk,’ it was a bit dramatic much at times…. I just wanted him to get to it already 🤣 I’m happy old secrets are finally revealed between Chase & Rogue as well as the guys because clearly this group draws enough danger on the regular, they sure as hell don’t need old shit getting in the way. It was nice too that (sure it was slow) but Rogue slowly let on to all but Fox at this point how she feels about them. But being only book two and she’s still not united them nor revealed all to him, time will tell how long it takes for this harem to be happy and complete. I have horrible feelings the worst is yet to come, especially with Chase in enemies hands. What’s scarier is it’s possible no one even realizes what’s happened and he’ll now be severely tortured like Maverick was 🤭🤐😭 Trying to stretch out reading this series until the final books release date is torture lol

ugh these endings!

This series is very entertaining, and I really enjoy the banter between Rogue and the men. All the guys are annoying to varying degrees – but I think JJ is my favourite.
One of my favourite parts of this whole book was the two blatant mentions of other books written by this author duo (Zodiac Academy and Dark Fae). It was hilarious and bold af! I loved it!
Looking forward to seeing where this series goes next. -
After that shocking previous finale, we pick back up here with Rogue firmly in Maverick's clutches. The man not surprisingly has baggage and a mile-long list of issues that he lays firmly at his former friend's doors. He has definitely changed but underneath that vicious exterior his heart still solely beats for the girl he once adored and it’s not long before these two are reconnecting and bonding over their mutual shared sense of betrayal. There are high stakes at play here maverick has a plan that he’s determined to see to fruition and nobody, not even Rogue herself will be allowed to get in his way.
So Rogue gets to spend time here with all of her boys and I can now see the pieces starting to slot into place. She also gets to learn the full truth regarding her abandonment and Chase's involvement in it. As for Fox he is still determined to win his girl with limited success whilst JJ is sneaking around with Rogue basically playing Russian roulette with his life. Add Daddy Luther into the mix whose back in town and this house of cards is teetering precariously ready to fall down and escalate into total Armageddon once everyone’s secrets are fully revealed.
We also get cameos of Tatum and saint which I loved and references to ruthless boys again also fabulous. I then especially adored the Edward Cullen references totally made me smile. When this finished everything had gone to hell in a hand-basket and this then ends on another shocking cliffhanger that left me eagerly anticipating what’s to come. As usual, this managed to grip and enthral me I adore anything these girls put to paper and I definitely recommend reading this series It was just so good and I now can’t wait to get stuck into book three.

I honestly can not praise these authors and this series enough! It is currently my favorite reverse harem, with their KOQ series being my second favorite series, so clearly I absolutely love the authors. :)
This book picks up right where Sinner's Playground left off. And we finally get to see more of Maverick! And he does NOT disappoint! Omg! It's him and Fox neck and neck for my favorite guys in this RH.
We do get more insight of what's happen to Maverick in the last ten years and the sh*t that's happen between him and the Harlequin Boys.
Just like all of Caroline and Susanne's books this is packed full of details and while the first was a slow burn (oh the sexual tension), this definitely picks up spice wise. I find that with all the series' I've read of theirs it gets spicier as the series goes on, which makes sense. The sexual tension is so worth it and just as good as the actual spice, in my opinion. I honestly can't wait for us to get to "group activities" *drools* I was also super happy to see some light kink in the book. I would absolutely loooooove to see more of that in the next books.
I find that I connect with and end up preferring thicker books, especially for reverse harem, because we really get to know who the characters are, we know their personalities and what makes them tick. I want to feel like I'm the MFC and that the MMC(s) are mine. And with all of Caroline and Susanne's books I always feel like that. I know a lot of people say they are too lengthy, but I think they are paced realistically and I love that.
We also find out more about Chase and why he did what he did in book one, and get to see more of Luther, Fox's dad, and what he wants the future of the gang to look like.
I could literally talk about this book, series and how talented the authors are all day but I don't want to get too deep, cause I tend to not realize what's considered spoilers sometimes. All I can say is you need to read this. I have loved everything I've read by Caroline and Susanne and they just continue to severely impress me. So please do yourself a favor and read this series and everything else by the authors! -
I honestly really enjoy the twisted sisters books. With the exception of the excessive and repetitive inner monologue. I would rather read a shorter book. But I guess if your on KU and get paid per page….

"So when you give in to that desire, baby girl, and you let one of them sink their filthy, Harlequin cock into this greedy, greedy cunt of yours. I want you to remember who owns it. I want you to remember that it's mine and when you're coming for them, you're still coming for me. And I'll be back to claim what I own in blood one day very soon."
Okay - wow ouch. This one hurt me right in the feels. And f***** Shawn? I can’t wait to see that asshole burnt at the stake! I loved all of the guys and I don’t care what anyone says I love chase and maverick. I even kinda fell in love with Luther ... I know what the hell right? Fox needs to learn to share, JJ needs to tell Fox to get with the program and make a harem just sayyyyin - can’t even believe these wonderful women wrote this book in two weeks. It’s honestly amazing and keep you in your toes! Honestly my 2nd favourite series!
-
This book was a masterpiece. This series is different for me because it's hard to pick a favorite! My heart hurts for them all. They are all broken pieces, but together they make a whole. The stubborn lot just need to realize it. I love that Rogue is starting to realize that Fox just wants to protect her, but she's showing him she doesn't need to be coddled. She needs her freedom, but will always come back home. Seeing Fox's softer side made me swoon. I love seeing their different relationships together develop.
-
Another good read from these 2 authors. I’ve read everything that they have written up to this point. It took me awhile to get back into this story, but I’m glad I finally did. It was well written and I see a path now, where I didn’t before.

Deas Man's Isle
Hmmm a hmm a hmmmmm a hmmmm a hmmmmm a hmmm and then a hmmm and a hmmm and then a final hmmm. -
This book series is a wild ride from start to finish. I like these characters and the gritty vibes that we get throughout the two books so far. But I also feel like there is something missing. I guess with all the other Reverse Harems I have read I appreciate the paces in regards to the relationships between the characters even when it was hate to love and you had a lot of push and pull. However in this series I'm two books in and I feel like there is not enough sexual gratification between Rouge and her four boys that makes it feel like a reverse harem. I don't really love all the secrets and lies between the men when it comes to their relationship to Rouge. I also don't love how domineering Fox is when it comes to Rouge and his insistence that he owns her when she has never agreed to that. Usually I don't mind that in stories like these but his attitude towards the whole situation really rubs me the wrong way.
But other than that the series is fun. High stakes. I was on the edge of my seat for some of these characters during a lot of this book which definitely makes it fun to read.
Also my favorite part of this whole book was the two blatant mentions of other books written by this author duo (Zodiac Academy and Dark Fae) It was hilarious and bold as fuck! I loved it! -
Once again this duo makes a big a** splash with Dead Man’s Isle. I had so many questions when we ended on that cliffhanger from Sinner’s Playground, some of which were answered. I honestly cant pick between how guys! All of these characters are broken in some way shape form or fashion. They all have been hurt, they have all made sacrifices and they all still care about one another. Our baby girl Rogue (her name is so fitting) is not one to be caged. She seriously doesn’t need anyone to protect her she can do that all by herself but the guys still want to be the ones to do it. If they would all just accept each other and work together lord their lives would be so much better…. But lets be real that would be kind or boring. Once again we get all the feels and all the emotions each character goes through and let me tell you my heart is seriously put through the ringer. I though book 1 killed me feelings nope it didn’t have anything on book 2. I love that we get everyone’s PVOs I love seeing what everyone is thinking or feeling or going through. Although Chase had his moment that I felt he was redeeming himself he still had those other moments where I wanted to throat punch him and scream WTF are you thinking. Lets talk about the heat and spice! If you though book 1 was hot book 2 will have your panties melting and you panting like a B in heat! Those scenes are HOT AF!! Give me all the spice! Yes Hunny!! We are left with another EPIC cliffy that had me screaming ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!!! I need the next book ASAP!!! Like as in yesterday!! 100% recommend and I will be impatiently waiting on the next book in the series.
-
The authors put a lot more steam in this one, thankfully. I'm still focused on Maverick 100%. Fox is too controlling, Chase is too cold and JJ is too clingy, but Maverick is just right. I also liked the appearance of Shawn Mackenzie in here as the Big Bad. Onward to book #3!

Firstly as i start this review i stand firm that i am Team MUTT because Rogue doesn't need those douchebags.
Buuut... i really do love Maverick, my heart broke for him when we found out what he'd gone through and even more when he couldn't stomach telling Rogue all the horrors that he'd endured.
Chase. Poor broken boy that i hated. How are you now my favorite and why do i hate myself for that? Everytime i cried during this book it was for him and my heart is seriously confused by its pain for him.
Beeping SHAWN! Cockroach that he is, last time i hated a character this badly was Lionel Acrux so anyone that has read the Zodiac Academy series knows how deeply my hatred stems! Can we take him and Mia and just shove them in a wee dark pit forever? Pretty please?
I feel for Fox because he honestly is just hopeless when is comes to "wooing" Rogue. Silly man needs to listen better and stop assuming he knows all. JJ, sweet sweet JJ. You are a very very dirty boy and i am living for it all.
Lost girl, thats definitely the best way to describe Rogue. She is so lost to her feelings for all of them that she hasn't even really realised it. I love her just as fiercely as i did before but im scared for what she's yet to face and how shattered her broken pieces are going to become. I hope her new friendship comes in handy in the future!!!
Mutt really let me down, wee traitor was all loved up and showing his belly to the devil and im not okay with that?
Im still disappointed that Jake didnt make an appearance nor did he receive his Jelly Beans.
Another amazing piece of art from the sisters! Cant wait for Carnival Hill!!!! -
Original review
This book was provided by the authors in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti!Dead Man’s Isle is the second book in The Harlequin Crew series and continues the story of Rogue and her guys Chase, Fox, JJ and Maverick.
When I got my ARC of Dead Man’s Isle on my Kindle, I got so excited. I mean, I always get excited when I get my hands on a Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti book, but I got really excited about this one because I’m really invested in Rogue’s story. It’s so addictive and I want to know what’s going to happen to her and the guys. And I still have so many questions after finishing Dead Man’s Isle.
I was certain the sun would return tomorrow and my lost girl would once again be there with me to watch it rise.
I really loved reading about Rogue, Chase, Fox, JJ and Maverick again. It was also nice to read about some characters from the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series. I hope we get to read some more about them in the third book in The Harlequin Crew series. But let’s talk about Rogue and her men. I really love Rogue and I cannot get enough of all four men. I know that there are going to be people who will hate one or more of the guys, but I love them all. Even though they did some wrong things, I still love all four of them. I’m a sucker for men created by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti!
The two of us really were a pair of damaged creatures. But somehow, when we were together, that fact didn’t seem to hurt so much.
Dead Man’s Isle was such an addictive book. I couldn’t stop reading because I had to know everything that was going to happen in the book. I was so curious to see what Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti put their characters through. If you’ve read some of their other books, you know that they can be real savages. And they were savages because they ended Dead Man’s Isle with a cliffhanger…
Dead Man’s Isle is filled with drama, some funny moments, hot scenes and some love/hate feelings. I really loved reading this book and I’m not surprised. Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti are two of my favourite authors and I love all of their books. Dead Man’s Isle was so well written and fast paced, and I highly recommend The Harlequin Crew series!
