A celebration of cultural icon Shaquille O'Neal's love of food, family, and fun, with 80 low-stress comfort food recipes for busy families.

Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal loves food. A lot. In fact, fans of Inside the NBA know they'll most likely hear Shaq tell his co-hosts all about what he ate for dinner while they analyze the action in the paint.

Shaq's love of food, eating, and family cooking began in his childhood home, where his mom cooked for him and his three siblings. With his own family, he carries on the commitment to creating family connection and fun through food. In Shaq's Family Style, featuring his inimitable sense of humor, he shares eighty recipes for bringing family together around the table, plus 100 photographs to whet the appetite. From Loaded Potato Waffles to One Pan Baked Southern Mac & Cheese, Sheet Pan BBQ Chicken Thighs with Sweet Potato Bake, and Spicy Jambalaya with Andouille Meatballs, these are meals that busy home cooks can get on the table after the kids' practice or when there's a houseful over to watch a game.

Even novices will be able to cook these recipes with confidence the first time--and on replay. When the plates are cleared, it's time for banana pudding (there's always banana pudding!) or one of Shaq's other family-favorite desserts. It's the Shaq Attaq!...in the kitchen.

It's neat to see what one guy loves to eat.

    Macaroni and Cheese

    1 lb pasta
    1 lb velveeta
    1 cup sharp cheddar
    3 cups milk
    1.5 cups evaporated milk
butter - kosher salt - black pepper

    makes things extra stringy

the book is enjoyable browsing and fascinating
but I say that about the Jean Pare Company's Coming books as well

I really love this cookbook for several reasons. I am a huge Shaq fan , so I had to check this out. There is a little something for everyone. My mouth started to water from the banana pudding picture. This isn't a huge cookbook, in fact it has just the right amount of recipes. The pictures are great....Recipes are clear, not too complicated.. Love the Breakfast section...especially love Breakfast for dinner, you can't go wrong there....

This is a fun cookbook because, you know, Shaq! Lots of intriguing recipes to try, and Shaq approved, with the help of 2 chefs who give you specifics in learning how to cook. Nice.

The ONLY critisism, but I till have to love it, recipes use 2 pounds of meat, then says: "serves 4 ". LOL.

Very few recipes I’d actually try to make, but Shaq’s voice came through loud and clear in the almost food blogesque set up of the book.

Not really anything original, just a collection of stuff he likes to eat I guess?

  • Ashani

    crazy good comfort food !

  • April

Enjoyable reading, basic recipes, but nothing that jumped out at me that I needed to drop everything and cook.

    Fabulous!
Great recipes with stories and pictures fill the pages. I have already made several items and they were quite successful and delicious.

Not really the types of recipes and food that I had been expecting from Shaquille O'Neal. Nice photographs and some good recipes.
