Suehiro is a quiet girl, who prefers the excitement of her books to the real-life anxieties of friends. She'd been perfectly happy in her own little world until ultra-popular guy Takasago asked her out as part of a punishment game right in front of the class, bringing Suehiro front and center. Mortified, she tries everything to get away...but he persists, and insists he's serious! How will she deal with such an interruption to her previously quiet life?

Suehiro is a shy girl. On a dare, Takasago asks her out. Only that she knows it's because of a dare, so she makes it really hard for him. This was such a nice story! I saw a bit of myself in Suehiro, not because I was shy but because I used to take books to school every day. I loved Takasago, he's too cute! Everything this boy does makes your heart flutter. I can't wait for volume 2. If you enjoy meet-cutes, the classic "popular boy falls in love with shy girl", and sweet mangas, you need to read this one!

Thank you NetGalley and Kodansha publishing for sending this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Updated Review 2/18/22: Still just as amazing the first time I read it! Such a wonderful story about a book lover! 🥰🥰🥰

Original review 5/6/21: It is honestly times like these where I wish I could collect digital manga in *paperback.*

This is a new digital title from Kodansha and while I am excited we have this new story to read in English legally, I'm bummed that I can't go to the store and pick this up because I indeed want to do so. It's one I want to be able to flip pages to favorite dialogue and scenes and then be able to run my hands over the cover.

But enough moping because I am thankful for the opportunity to read this as it was delightful! It gives me a lot of When We Shout for Love vibes (which I LOVED!!) and caught myself leaning a little closer to my computer screen to keep reading. I love these kinds of stories where we have our shy main girl stepping out of her shell and into a young woman she's always dreamed of being.

Her journey just started a little different then she expected! LOL! Suehiro is such a relatable character and absolutely love her love for books and wanting to celebrate that love with other friends. I found her whys of wanting to join a club one that resonated in my own heart and her fear of Takasago leaving even more relatable.

While I feel Takasago may appear to be your typical popular guy falling for the shy girl, I was actually surprised how this took a turn into something deeper. He's not just this super popular dude who just "happens" to fall in love. I won't deny that we still see that (and totally not upset at all because that is one of my favorite tropes), but I was not prepared for more depth to his overall character.

Overall, I'm really looking forward to continuing this! The bookish aspect, the characters, and the hopeful journey of growing self-confidence makes this a manga one I would recommend and read again!

*(I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts expressed are my own.)*

At first I thought the plot here is very typical for a shoujo manga: the popular guy asks out a shy girl because of a bet but then he quickly develops real feelings for her. Typical, right? And then it hit me in the feels.
The main character, Suehiro, is very relatable. She is extremely shy and introverted and her face is always stuck in a book. And it's the same book because it calms her anxiety. Man, I can relate to that on a deep level. I enjoyed the development she goes through in this volume. By the end of the book she definitely opens up more and is excited to make more friends.
The guy, Takasago, had a lot more depth to him than I expected. He is going through some struggles of his own but that did not make him cruel. He even started a literature club for Suehiro! That was probably my favorite aspect, all the book talk.
At the end there is a little hint of a love triangle and it's with a character that I really liked, so I want to read more from this series sooner than later.
If you like sweet stories and shoujo manga I think you will really like this. Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Suehiro has one goal - to remain invisible and get through her daily life at school. Hiding behind her favourite book at the back of class, she’s managed to stay under the radar until Takasago, the most popular guy in class, asks her out as part of a punishment game. She couldn’t want anything less, but Takasago’s persistent and he might turn into something more than she bargained for.

Nikki Asada is a mangaka who I’ve read rather a lot of and been generally okay with. I started with Heartbreak Club, which sort of lost its focus, then tried The Prince’s Romance Gambit, which really didn’t do it for me. Last came The Dorm of Love & Secrets, which I finished but had yet another silly-ass premise (she really seems to favour those).

What I did notice with all of these was that every series she was getting just a bit better as a writer and artist, which pays off in a big way here. This book, really, was worth the wait.

This premise is a big old ‘been there, done that’ where unpopular girl is suddenly the fixated target of a popular boy. But any set-up is fine if the story itself is at least interesting and Asada digs into this with relish, perhaps suggesting that she should have just been using the hoariest tropes in all of shojo as a baseline the entire time.

Suehiro is painfully, woefully shy, to the point where she’s managed to not utter a word to her class most of the year. She’s believably withdrawn and I like the way the book shows that this was just a downward slide she never bothered to stop. Sometimes these things do just creep up on you unawares and you don’t know how to get out of them yourself.

Takasago is just the right side of pushy. He clearly invades Suehiro’s space and inserts himself in her life, initially, but he also ends up taking no for an answer at one point. I think the one time he tries to get her to walk more confidently is a misstep, so to speak, but it’s a brief one. For the most part he’s respectful and genuinely appreciates what they have.

There’s a chemistry to this pairing that just works. When Suehiro says no to, well, everything, thinking she’s not worth anything, but then realizes that her safe space has made her incredibly lonely for something closer to normal and she reaches back out to Takasago, it’s really satisfying. In a way, large swathes of the student body are the antagonist here and seeing her learn some worth is a journey worth going on.

Takasago is not as perfect as he seems and we learn that his own popularity is being propped up by an image that he can’t maintain much longer and having something real with Suehigo clearly means more to him. It doesn’t help that a lot of the friends he’s surrounded himself with are, honestly, rotten people. The book also nails how insidious school gossip can be.

When Takasago steps in to help fulfil Suehiro’s dreams of school life, it’s adorable stuff. The boy’s slick - when he flips over the sign (you’ll know it when you see it), that’s as cute a gesture as I can imagine. They have a ridiculous number of moments that end up involving the school roof.

Throw in some boo-hiss bullies (seriously, that one girl, grr), the potential rival who looks a lot more like a caring wingman right now, a rather charming and excellently used visual ground/sky metaphor, tons of moments, plus great art, and you have a really good book.

4.5 stars and, you know what, I read this book twice in a row and that’s a sign that I’m engaged as heck in the story. Nikki Asada had to walk before she could run, but she ran away with this one and I can only hope the next volume remains this strong.

The Springtime Of My Life was such a refreshing shojo manga! Seeing Suehiro whose a shy book lover, come out of her shell when Takasago interrupts her quiet life made for such a fun, sweet start to a new manga series! The characters are well-developed, the plot was nicely paced and the development of the romance is so well done, looking forward to continuing the other volumes! 💗

The Springtime Of My Life Vol. 1 Review 🌷✨

I'd never read Nikki Asada's previous mangas before but the summary had me so intrigued! I've also been wanting to dive more into shojo manga recently & I'm so happy to have discovered this series. Despite Suehiro + Takasago being complete opposites, they begin to connect and its really sweet. Character-wise they are given enough page time to be so well developed with backstory that has you interested in learning more about them.

After what was initially a prank (batsu-game) Takasago, one of the most popular guys in Suehiro's class, asks her out. She prefers to be by herself and would rather Takasago forget about asking her...but when he asks her out for real her life becomes a lot less lonely than she realized.

I liked how there were small moments throughout the plot that showed how Takasago genuinely wanted to connect with Suehiro & hang out with her, the sweetest moment was how he talked about wanting to read her favorite book so he could understand why she loved it so much!! Suehiro has her own insecurities as someone whose very introverted & anxious, yet she still finds the strength to build up confidence to be on her own (thinking that at some point Takasago may get bored of her and leave), that was a hard-hitting moment of the story that I connected with & made Suehiro as a character all the more stronger.

The plotting and pacing was so well done, it never dragged at any point and each plot point in this first volume not only established a lot for the characters but also felt like key moments that may develop later on in future volumes. Despite some cliche moments, the main characters seem wonderfully established in the story so far and I'm interested in learning more about them!

At only 5 volumes, I can't wait to see where the story is headed & if this was in print I'd definitely buy it, such a refreshing shojo manga!!

Not much of reader for tropes but for those who enjoy the shy girl x popular boy trope, this one definitely delivers!

Way back in my younger years, I had a thing for shojo (romance manga). I fell out of it, but have since picked it back up this year, with the intense need for romance, HEAs and just other happy things that didn't cause negativity. So when I saw this being offered, I requested it and received it.

    AND OMG I AM OBSESSED.

Ok, I'm NOT a shojo professional, I have only recently started up with it again, so I don't know if this is annoyingly trope-y to hardcore shojo readers, BUT I LOVED IT!!

The H is SO SWEET and the h is SO CUTE and she's a READER. Classic H is popular and she is not scenario. The artwork is SO PRETTY and I just loved the storyline, which I was about to spoil because I was so excited, but I won't, so you'll read it and now that I've been talking about it, I want to re-read it!

I asked/told my Boss immediately that we needed to order this, for the store and for me, because I am going to hand sell the HECK out of this series, when I was told that it can't be ordered in book form, only electronic!!!

I DON'T buy books electronically if I want them to be keepers, I get the actual physical book for that, but I broke down and pre-ordered this one (and another one I read right after this one And Yet, You are So Sweet-also amazing!) and I'll be doing a review on Amazon for it too, which I NEVER do, but I need to spread the word about this and the other one I read.

HIGHLY recommended, especially if you like shojo, romance and YA books. Also if you want to try something different that is light and a quick read. Just be warned, you might get hooked!

5, now I need to go back and re-read this RIGHT NOW, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and Kodansha for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

Suehiro is the class loner. She's shy and introverted, and she spends all of her time in class hiding behind her favorite book, three-quarters hoping not to be noticed, and a quarter wishing someone would. The someone who does, much to her horror, is popular boy Takasago, and even worse, he seems to be doing so because of a punishment game requiring him to ask someone out. It's terrifying and humiliating, and...wait, is he maybe using that as an excuse and actually does want to date her?

Nikki Asada has had a remarkable streak of titles released in English and each one of them is just different enough to make it worth trying. The Springtime of My Life Began with You is the most serious thus far. Suehiro and Takasago both have very real scars and issues that they're not entirely comfortable about and they both also seem to be finding out that they may truly enjoy being with each other, no matter what the rest of the class (or school) thinks about it. There's talk of bullying (that none of the students understand), Takasago definitely gets too possessive of Suehiro, and a very real sense that maybe this book remembers what it was like to be in high school in a way that's a little more grounded than most. Even if you have a patchy history with Asada, I think this is worth giving a chance.

Probably more of a 3.5, but large swathes of this book hit me where I lived back in school.

  • Manon「マノン」

I was excited to read this manga because it seems like a sweet one, but it just didn’t work for me.

There is your typical popular guy who (of course) notices the shy girl who no one talks to and has no friends. Even though this trope has been done, again and again, I wouldn’t have minded if the rest of the manga was good, but it wasn’t the case. The main issue I have is that nothing is happening. The manga is flat; the characters aren’t interesting at all. The author added nothing new to the story, unfortunately.

    ---------------------------------

    3,5/5 stars

A simple and cute story about an introverted girl, who loves to read, whose world changes when the most popular boy in her class asks her out. It all starts as payment for a bet, but it transforms into something else. Takasago wants to get to know Suehiro better and help her accomplish everything that she has not done since she started high school due to not having friends.

Takasago is a pretty funny boy, but he is too much imposing, to the point that it seems that he wants to kidnap Suehiro in the Literature club for him only making excuses not to attract new members, and he drags a trauma with the club in which he was in middle school. Suehiro is a person who has always been alone and lacked the courage to make new friends, which is why she always took refuge in books.

A simple manga but I'm looking forward to seeing how the relationship between Takasago and Suehiro evolves, but especially the evolution of each of them.

I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

When Takasago asks her out as a penalty in a punishment game, Suehiro wants nothing more than to hide behind her books. She doesn't want to stand out, and she hates the extra attention. Takasago insists he is genuinely asking her out and gets even more persistent. Suehiro's quiet life suddenly gets a lot more interesting...

This is probably the first time I have ever related to a shoujo protagonist. A girl who just wants to live a normal life? Who hides behind her books because she struggles with people? Who doesn't want attention to be on her? That was me, and it's not something I've ever really seen in manga before. Takasago is a major extrovert, but I like his character a lot too. He's a good guy, and I like the way he interacts with Suehiro. There's also a side character that I'm interested in learning more about. All in all, this was an adorable volume with a protagonist I can relate to, and I think a lot of other readers might be able to relate as well!

✨ "You don't have to ask the stars to make those happen, 'cause I will."

What a cute and adorable manga that gave me all the fuzzies! It had the perfect amount of romance and humour, plus a lot of swoonworthy moments.

I love the romantic relationship because the two leads complement each other so well, especially when it comes to how Takasago helps Suehiro to build her confidence. Takasago sees her for who she is, understands her so well, and totally gets her love for reading. I also felt like Suehiro grew a lot as a character by the end of the volume.

Now that their romance has been established, I can't wait to see where the story goes next! Especially with all the mean girls and the club's newest member.

Thank you Netgalley for an eARC of this manga. I am a huge fan who used to read lots of mangas and have been meaning to start again, but never found the right title. This manga was not only a perfect fit but also reignited my love for the genre!

  • Kayla Brunson

I have been having a lot of good luck with the first volumes of new series lately and this one was no different. Our main character Suehiro was adorable and relatable. I can understand wanting to fade to the background hiding behind a book. I’ve been doing it for years!

Takasago never hesitated to tell Suehiro where they stood. We love a male lead who doesn’t beat around the bush. The things he did for her really made me happy that he cared for her. I hope in the next volume we get more special moments between them!

I’m pretty sure that they are building up to have a certain someone as another love interest and I'm hoping that I'm wrong. Not just because I don't like love triangles, but I don’t want anything messing up the relationship between Takasago and Suehiro.

I enjoyed this and I’m super excited for the next volume!

“Suehiro, you don’t have to ask the stars to make those happen, ‘cause I will.”

This is a sweet, lighthearted story about a shy girl hiding behind her books and a charming boy who is dedicated to making her dreams come true. Suehiro is a relatable character, and it was heartwarming to watch her open up more as her relationship with Takasago blossomed. The art is beautiful, and the ending opens the door for endless possibilities when it comes to the plot. I look forward to reading the next volume.

    10/10, highly recommend.

WOW! So this was a know new experience for me as this was my first time reading manga online. THIS OPENS SO MANY DOORS FOR ME! I always have to track them down or buy from Amazon! So I am super excited about that! But let's talk about Nikkis The Springtime of My Life Began with You, SO GOOD. The art was pretty amazing in my opinion and the story cute and kept me reading until it was over, which was way too fast in my opinion! I can't wait for more and will definitely try more books by Niki Asada!

I say you should give this one a try!

  • Lissa Hawley

Shy bookworm + popular boy? Sign me up. Super cute. Mild quibble, I feel like they gave away a couple of major plot points too early. (i.e. class rep and baseball club)

  • StrawberryShojo

It’s all fun and games when an extrovert adopts an introvert, right? “The Springtime of my Life Began with You,” follows the story of a timid, high school girl named Suehiro and her strange relationship with fellow classmate, Takasago. The story’s premise takes form when Takasago asks Suehiro to go out with him as a prank, but after speaking with her decides that he wants to be with her for real. I really wanted to like this story. I liked the description, the cover design, and the title. The main issue I have with this story is how pushy and obnoxious Takasago is towards Suehiro. He just sort of decides that they’re dating despite any hesitancy on Suehiro’s part. Get used to it though as he decides most things for her in this story. Suehiro’s thoughts and actions are questioned by him at every turn, and he never fails to tell her that she’s wrong. He criticizes her quite a bit, and it makes me very irritated.

“Keep your head up. I’m the one your dating after all.”
“I want to be the reason for all your different expressions.”
“I’m the only one you need, right?”
“You have me, isn’t that enough.”

All of these quotes come from Takasago, who seems bent on keeping Suehiro all to himself. For what purpose, I couldn’t tell you, and for some reason, the audience is expected to believe this story is endearing and romantic. I know this story will absolutely appeal to someone who likes reading about edgy boys paired with meek girls who worship them, but this just wasn’t interesting to me.

I know this is all fairly standard storytelling for shojo, but there are so many more interesting manga that deconstruct the cliches presented here. In light of more recent manga, with more progressive storytelling, this story just feels dated and dull. While the art is perfectly serviceable, I ultimately feel that this story doesn’t have a lot to offer.

Disclaimer: I received this manga as review copy, although my thoughts and opinions are all my own.

  • Som reading 24x7

The plot focuses on an introvert girl and a popular boy coming together and helping out eachother to overcome the barriers taht they are facing within themselves.
It all starts with a game, where Takasago has to ask Suehiro to go out with him. Initially Suehiro gets puzzled and ask him whether it's due tothe game but gradually both the characters interact more.
Suehiro has restricted her world to her one and only favourite book named " The Forest of Falling Stars" by Michiru Kotobuki. She used to read it over and over again, this was noticed by Takasago and Suehiro was pretty surprised to know that. He stays by her side and knows her wishes which she has kept inside her heart only due to her introvert nature.
She wanted to join the Literary Club still she dropped her plan. Later the literary club was revoked as there weren't any applicants for the same club. She told this incident to Takasago and surprisingly he talked with the authorities and opened it again. He even named it "Suehiro Club" as he wanted to know more about her and even see her different expressions.
There were several cute incidents like breaking the school rule of staying late to watch the shooting star from the school's roof and coming to and from the school together. Inbetween these incidents, Suehiro comes to know that Takasago was into basketball team during his middle school and he was one of the most hardworking and dedicated guy in the team yet when his coach comes to ask him to join the team, he rejects. She searched for his achievements in middle school and was wondering why such a great athlete will skip his sport, well he had hurt himself and couldn't play the sport anymore that is why he turned down his coach's offer to join the team.
Both the characters hide something within themselves and both are helping eachother to overcome their insecurities.
I loved reading this and elbow will be waiting for the next volume.

    Heart's Content!

Received an Advanced Reader’s Copy from the publisher, Kodansha Comics, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

My God, I’d almost forgotten my love for mangas and I don’t think I’ll be making that mistake again. As soon as I saw the cover for The Springtime of My Life Began With You and read the blurb, I genuinely felt transported to my past–aka college days or was it school days?–and just had to request for it. This is a Japanese manga which means that it is to be read right to left and the story is released in volumes.

I can see how much writing has changed around the world. Writers are all making their characters relatable in a way that makes us all recall these moments from our own lives. Suehiro, as the blurb states, is a quiet, book-lover looking into the social world feeling longing and fear. Haven’t we all sat inside the fences of our anxieties, struggles and insecurities looking at the people that do so easily something that we fear may break us? Suehiro is no different. Those moments that she faces her fears and takes a deep breath and works past them were moments that I genuinely felt fantastically empowered in. It reminded me of the instances in my life that I had done the same in.

Takasago was an interesting protagonist. I think the further we go into the story the more we will understand about his past and perspective. I expected to be particularly suspicious of him/his behaviour but I only found him interesting, but trust worthy and eager to see what he would do and how I would feel about it.

I’m definitely sure this is a manga I’m going to keep following. Book nerds for the win! 5 stars! A cute story that even if you’re surprised by some things, you take into consideration the personality, struggles and thoughts of the protagonist and want to keep going. Gosh, this reminds me of the mangas I used to love and makes me want to go back to them.

Happy reading lovelies and stay safe! ❤

Thank you so much to the publishing company, Kodansha Comics and Netgalley for providing me with a copy!!!

I can’t resist a cute rom-com read <3 And I’m so happy I got to read this one! This definitely gave me my fix. And I can now happily add this in my favourites list.
This book was sooo addicting! I just couldn’t put it down.

This book had great character development. For me, my heart goes out to the main character. I love the main character so much. I adore Suehiro (the main character) so much! She is just so relatable. She is a shy and quiet girl. And prefers the company “of her books to the real-life anxieties of friends”. And in this first volume, I enjoyed seeing her grow as an individual and fighting for what she loves...and I just thought it was so cute that Takasago was right there for her. Takasago is the “ultra-popular guy”. Him and Suehiro are the complete opposites! But seeing them interact and connect made me fangirl and squeal! I can see that there is a deeper side to Takasago and I’m happy Suehiro is bringing it out of him. I can tell there is so much more to come and I’m all for it.

The cliffhanger ending has me excited for the second! (which I WILL DEFINITELY BE CHECKING OUT)

  • Teresa

Thank you to NetGalley, Kodansha, and Nikki Asada for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Suehiro is has no friends and is more than content reading the same book over and over in her corner of the classroom. When attractive Takasago comes over to ask her out, it is quite the surprise. Not only does Suehiro think Takasago asked her out because of a dare (called batsu-game), but the whole school thinks that too! She's so quiet and bland, he can't seriously want to date her, can he? When he resurrects the Literary Club just for Suehiro (the secret name of the club being the Suehiro Club), he really wants it to just be the two of them! Eventually, someone does join the club, and it is a mysterious person of interest who appears throughout volume one.

At first I thought this manga was a bit basic and bland, just like any other high school romance, but the end really has its interesting highlights. Once they establish the requirements for someone to join the literary club, the series opens up a whole new door of possibilities when it comes to the plot. And maybe a potential love triangle? I am certainly intrigued by this third party character, and he is what makes me want to read the next one!

This is a manga about a guy that falls in love with the mysterious girl that loves reading. All she always wanted is to have friends, break the rules, live the life of a real teenager. On the other side, we have the popular guy, who only has good grades and just wants to see the different expressions of our main girl.

I mean, this plot is the one we always see in shoujo manga, and I like this. The romance is cute, their relationship is lovely and I like their personalities. Is a nice read to have when you’re not into reading anything. I liked the art, it was beautiful and everything was so special. I felt like when I was 13 watching my favorite anime after a terrible day.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book, you can bet that I’ll keep reading the next volumes!

"You don't have to ask the stars to make those happen, cause I will"

Suehiro is a shy friendless girl with anxiety that loves to read and Takasago is a popular boy who is liked by everyone. Takasago gets peer-pressured into asking Suehiro out in front of the class, her knowing this, she declines, but to everyone's surprise, he persists. That spring interaction changes their relationship completely and you get to watch their romance bloom.

This is such a cute, romantic, light-hearted and fun read! The art was really pretty and the storyline was super enjoyable, I read this in one sitting! Suehiro reminded me of myself in high school, anxious with abandonment issues and Takasago was so charming and misunderstood. I loved that even though Suehiro was an anxious bookworm, she isn't a complete push-over, she still stands up for herself the best she can and it made me just love her.

The romance had a rough start, but I quickly fell in love with Takasago, and everything he said made me swoon. There is something just so romantic about a love interest being dedicated to helping the protagonist grow and make their dreams come true! I was just obsessed, and audibly screamed at some of the things he did! I will totally be checking out the rest of the volumes and am super curious about how the rest of the characters play a bigger role in the story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review.

First of all, the drawing is very nice. I've always loved reading shoujo manga and I love how stories can completely win me over and others sadly not. Sadly this was one of those stories.

I really liked the first two chapters and enjoyed our main characters (Suehiro and Takasago), but the following chapters got a bit heavy to read. I feel like something was missing from this story for it to leave a bigger impression on me. However, I feel like they are a cute couple, plus the ending of this first volume left me wanting to continue the story, so I look forward to the next volume.

Thanks to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for allowing me to read an ARC of this manga in exchange for an honest opinion :)

Thanks to #Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for making this book available to me.

We follow Suehiro who is a very quiet girl in school, she is usually the butt of the joke in the class. So when one of the very popular boys walk up to her and ask to be friends she thinks he has been put up to if. First she refuses him and goes back to her small world, but he persist and asks her about the book he had noticed that she was always reading.
The interest he took in her reading tastes was one of the things that drew her to him. So when he asked her to go out with him. She was so happy and willing.
We get to see them build their relationship from friendship to commitment and even influence their class mates, build back a dead reading club. It was so much fun to read and I hope you check it out.

This sweet shoujo romance reminds me a little bit of Honey So Sweet, and here is why.

In this, we have a young woman who has been quiet the entire school year. The popular boy asks her out as part of a game that the popular kids play. She calls him on it, and he sticks to his guns, because he is so shocked that she stood up to him, let alone spoke.

He is now bound and determined to get to know her, and to get to know all the different sides of her. It's sweet, charming, and full of people who may get a bad first impression, but are truly amazing despite what people think.

Rather wholesome for a story whose premise involves a popular guy asking a wallflower out on, what is basically, a dare. It helps that she knows it is a dare, so her feelings aren't particularly hurt and it helps that the guy is genuinely nice and committed to her happiness. I hope the class rep ends up being a romantic rival, cause already the dude is my ship, but if they dodge the love triangle trope altogether since the relationship has already started I will be fine.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for letting me read this manga in exchange for an honest review!

This is such a cute story, but it moves a lot faster than most shojo high school romances I've read before! I really like how Takasago challenges Suehiro's insecurities and pushes her to trust him. I like how Suehiro is slowly coming to realize that he is serious about her. I really need the next volume because I want to see how these two will continue to grow together!
