They say to never meet your heroes… but what’s the rule on falling in love with them?

Raven Winters has been infatuated with Nicholas Potter since the day she tacked his poster to her bedroom wall. So, when she discovered the famous drummer was her college roommate’s cousin, it seemed the stars had aligned.

Their attraction was instant, and their chemistry explosive. Unfortunately, Nick wasn’t ready to abandon his rock star lifestyle.

Over the years, she’s become his best friend—with benefits—and favorite source of telephonic relief when the groupies backstage weren’t quite what he was looking for. Those late-night drunken calls kept her holding onto hope.

But all that patience is about to pay off—why else would he invite her to join him on tour, if not to finally confess his feelings?

Too bad, the universe has other plans. It looks like drummer boy’s reckless lifestyle has finally caught up to him—and Raven’s the one stuck toting the diaper bag.

I really didn't like this book as much as I hoped and it comes down to one reason: Nick. The dude was so freaking selfish -- all he cared about was himself, he didn't treat Raven like an actual human being, much less a best friend/woman he's in love with. In fact he KNOWS how she feels about him yet he keeps stringing her along. And don't even get me started about how he sleeps around even though they have a FWB situation going on. But don't worry because she gets the parts of him the other girls don't. Gag me.🙃

He doesn't even care about his children. I could excuse the shock and the bad reaction if he actually tried to be a human being, but no. He just kept making the same excuse that the kids would be better off without him and he's not changing his life for them. And at first he didn't even believe they were his even though they both look like him. Ugh.

Raven unfortunately wasted all her love and devotion on a man who didn't deserve it, but I did love her bond with the twins. At least someone was looking out for them. I just wish she had more self worth to go find someone worth loving .

I'm in no way trying to be mean to the author cause I happen to truly like her.. but this was just a huge miss for me.

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

    AYL EXCERPT:

“I guess congratulations are in order, huh?”

“Please don’t do this,” I beg, ripping my hands through my hair. “Don’t act like any of this is okay, because it’s not.”

“What would you have me do instead?” she asks, stilling my hands with her own. “Rage? Scream?” She snorts. “Cry?”

“If that’s what you feel you need to do.”

She shakes her head, rolling her glistening eyes. “Don’t you think that’s a little extreme of a reaction for a friend to have when her bestie learns he’s just become a daddy?”

I hope you’re ready to get served ALL THE FEELS because Heather M. Orgeron doesn’t hold back with Alcohol You Later.

There’s heaps of heat and spice, which already kicks off in the first chapter. Tension and angst. Shock and awe. A love that hurts so good. The gut wrenching moments that make you sob. Sweet, heartfelt scenes that glue you back together. And of course, dirty humor that makes toy forget you were just crying for a different reason. I just want to rewind and read it all over again.

I’m obsessed with a jaded, broken hero who tips the scale at being irredeemable. Nick needs a serious intervention, and Raven is ready to serve it. She’s the only one—with her selfless patience—who can reach him. That special bond, even when it’s tested at times, it’s such a beautiful treasure.

Alcohol You Later is a MUST READ for 2022. I can’t recommend this one enough. Thank me later!

HOLY HOTNESS!! 5+ Epic Stars for Alcohol You Later. This is Heather M. Orgeron at her very best. Only she can make me fan myself from the heat one second and then have me peeing my pants with laughter the next. This book has everything you need in your romance and more. But it was all the swoony moments in between that gripped my heart from start to finish.

Nick is a drummer who just got thrown a major curveball in his playboy life, and Raven is the one he begs to swoop in and help him... little does he know that she will be the one who pushes him to become something so much more than he ever imagined.

I love this story and the beautiful way this was written. A Top Favorite 2022 Read!

DNF @ 50% . Nick is an immature man-child who completely ignores his responsibilities and literally just uses Raven for sex. Raven is even worse for allowing it in the hopes that one day, he'll want more out of her. Can't do it, I need more substance at this point.

  • BooksBooksBooks

    Gross, stupid and insulting.

Heroine is a doormat idiot. She's not just a FWB she listens to him whine about not getting hard for other women. She loves how he smells faintly of pot. Yeah...romantic.

He has his twins dumped on him and freaks so we can add deadbeat dad. He calls her to be a nanny but she thinks it's because he wants her. He does want her. To be the nanny.

Laughing that there are so many 5 star reviews for a guy that smells bad, probably has an STD and wants to toss his kid across the room.

Alcohol You Later is a romance that will bring you a lot of laughters and some tears.

Raven is in love with the drummer of a country music band. Everything started as an infatuation, but she is lucky enough to actually meet Nicholas becoming soon friends with benefits. Now, after years, Ray is Nick's safe place and the lighthouse in his stormy mind, but he is still not ready to share his feelings with her, until he asks Raven to join him for the rest of the tour.

"Life is fragile and fleeting and a gift meant to be lived to the fullest."

I've enjoyed Raven and Nick journey. I couldn't empathize with Nicholas for a good part of the book, his actions made my blood boiling but in the end he redeems himself and he took a piece of my heart. Raven looks like a pathetic and deluded fangirl but she shows her strenght and back bone when the occasion requests and I couldn't have appreciated her more.

I loved all the supporting characters, I'd like to get more stories about this band.

The flowing writing and the storyline had me hooked from the beginning, I hardly put it down...get it as soon as possble.

I really wanted to enjoy this because rock star romance makes me happy but I will be honest I am beyond disappointed. Our heroine was an absolute doormat and the hero is a manwhore who literally gives off the most mixed signals ever! I tried to give it as much as I could but I just couldn't keep pushing through. And while I appreciate this is just a story, the way this man talks about his kids makes me feel sick because thats just not my vibe.

This one just really wasn't for me!

This is my honest and unbiased review.

Did I expect this to be good? No. Did it meet those expectations? Unfortunately.

  • Melissa, Book Boyfriend and Husband Make Three

I'm completely speechless. I'm at a loss for words to express everything I imagined Alcohol You Later would be, as well as the reality of what it was, because it was so much more than I could have imagined.

Orgeron has an uncanny ability to bring a sense of reality to the fictional worlds she creates, and she never fails to leave me in awe.

Raven has a huge loving heart and an unwavering ability to see more in Nick than anyone ever has. We'd all be lucky to have someone who firmly believes that you are more than what you have ever seen in yourself.

She's sassy and witty, and she has a soft spot for Nick Potter the size of the Grand Canyon.

Nick is... To be honest, no single word, or even a few, could begin to scratch the surface of this extremely complex man. Add in having his entire existence completely thrown off its axis, and the complexity grows 10 fold. His views on love and parenting were influenced by less-than-ideal examples, which have distorted his perception of his ability to love those around him. I loved him. I wanted to throttle him. I wanted to hug him. I wanted to get up close and personal with all the bedazzling he had going on.

My emotions were not my own from the first page to the last. Orgeron cast a spell with her words, and my emotions became hers to command. Snort laughter and sobs, every emotion Nick and Raven felt washed over me as if they were my own. Inner fears and the demons we carry that keep us awake at night, they all seeped through the pages, pain like daggers piercing my heart, mixed with the most euphoric happiness swirling inside in a war until one came out on top.

Nick and Raven shared an impassioned physical chemistry, but the cosmic soul-searing connection they shared outshined all else. In the way she loved so wholly and unconditionally, and in the ways he showed her the only way he knew how, they were speaking a language to one another that nobody else could understand.

Alcohol You Later is an exemplary display of Orgeron’s talent. I’m in complete awe.

Alcohol You Later had me enthralled from start to finish. A poignant mix of soul-searing chemistry, a beautifully broken hero, a loving heroine, deep emotions felt in every cell in your body, and uber hot (bedazzled) steam.

A top read in 2022 and a new all-time favorite.

5 Star Review Alcohol You Later by Heather M Orgeron

Having read or listened to a few books from Heather M Orgeron I couldn’t wait to dive into Alcohol You Later ( I just love the title of this book). From the first chapter I was riveted to Raven Winters and rock star Nicholas Potter’s story.

When I first read the blurb for this book I was intrigued and it was everything that I was expecting and so much more. These two have been friends with benefits for some time but that relationship is about to become complicated in ways neither of them expected.

From the moment they first met, there was intense chemistry between them which quickly turned into a friends with benefits relationship. However for Raven it has always been more; she is deeply in love with her handsome drummer friend.

The road they travel is full of twits and turns and I was cheering for these two to get the happily ever after that they deserve. The growth that both Raven and Nicholas went through throughout this story was amazing.

There were moments where I laughed out loud and moments that brought me to tears in this well written, emotional story that ticked all the boxes for me.

I'm really torn over this book. I love this author's work, but this book just missed thr mark for me. I knew going in that Raven and Nick were friends. I knew he was a famous drummer and popular with the ladies (that's putting it nicely)...and I knew this was a surprise baby story.

What I didn't know was that this book was going to take place after Raven and Nick met. I didnt know that he was going to continue to sleep with groupies after starting something woth Raven. Granted, we don't actually see him with any of thr groupies. But it just rubbed me the wrong way with how in love Raven already was.

I didnt like the way Nick treated Raven. And by time he "realized" he was in love with her, I didnt believe it. I honestly kept reading because I had to see how he would be redeemed, if it was even possible for him to be redeemed.

I will say that I liked how he was with his kids, once he started to actually acknowledge them. That and the end letter from theor mom to Raven really got me.

Overall, I'll still read the author's books, and there will definitely be people that loved this one, it just wasn't for me.

This was really interesting to read. I definitely felt that the hero (which I already forgot the name sorry) was rather immature in the start. Obviously when you have something spring up on you like he did (which I won't mention because of spoilers), it makes sense why he took so long to adjust, but, he just wasn't smart about things. I did like their relationship as the hero finally realized the heroine was worth it, but, just the hero put me off a little. He was ok, I just was not a fan.

Raven is totally in love with Nick, and they are friends with benefits. Nick is a drummer in a successful band. Nick has a lot of issues and Raven is always there for him. When he asks her to come on the rest of the tour she’s excited, but it isn’t what she expected. Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. This book has all the feels laughter, sweet loving moments, and hot spice. I always fall in love with the characters and world she builds.

  • Keri Loves Books

A 5 Star friends-to-lovers romance with heat and heart!!! I absolutely fell in love with Raven and Nick. An all-time favorite couple. Their emotional journey was both heart-breaking at times yet so beautiful. The author continues to draw me in with her humor and heartfelt love stories.

Raven has felt more for Nick than just friendship for years. She'll take him any way she can get him, even if it's just pieces. It's slowly breaking her, but she is not ready to let go. When Nick asks her to come on tour, she feels like it's finally her chance for them to become more than friends with benefits. However, she could have never prepared herself for what she encounters.

Nick is a good guy. A total mess but no less endearing. He has a good heart but his past leads him to making bad decisions. Our boy will struggle, but he's going to fight to find his way.

This was such a great story. They were friends, but their connection ran deep. They both had feelings invested, but fear of the unknown and the past held them back. Nick will transform from the reckless bad boy we know and still love, into the the man he was meant to be. He'll still be wild but he'll be truly happy.

The author delivered an unforgettable couple with so many special moments, laugh-out loud antics, and I look forward to more of them in future books. I adore this crew and the love they found along the way.

Well, this was a major waste of time… DNF 21%
Raven just lets this idiot asshole manwhore walk all over her no questions asked. Like come on girl this man has more respect for a tea bag than you! He uses you as a quick fuck under the guise that you are his best friend and then under false pretenses gets you to babysit his kids. This might just be me but any man who calls me his “dude” after I have sex with him is an instant never talk to you again.
Raven completely wasted her time, love and energy on this idiot. He has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

no groveling???? i’m going to be honest i was mad at all the characters the entire book.

  • PP's Bookshelf

Alcohol You Later by Heather M. Oregon was an uber hot romcom featuring a tattoed bad boy country music band drummer, a fierce heroine and some cute surprise who will make you swoon so much. It was sexy. It was emotional. It was an entertaining journey.

Raven has been in love for a long time with Nick Potter, the drummer in famous country music band. Nick thinks she is her best friend and best friend with benefits too. But he never showed any indication of making it more. When Raven gets a drunk call at midnight from Nick asking her to join the tour urgently, she thinks it's time for more. But when she arrives, she finds she is being propositioned to be nanny of two adorable almost two year kids who were dropped suddenly and Nick doesn't want to be father to them. Will this forced proximity finally make Nick face his feels?

Raven is a beautiful character. Her devotion and support for Nick is amazing. She has dropped everything to come to him because he needed her. She has done it many times but now, she is done and she will make Nick admit his feels. It's now or never. It requires a big heart to love Nick and she has it. I cheered for her as she put Nick in his place for being inconsiderate and coward and stubborn. Nick is a very complicated character. His childhood was dark and traumatic and he still thinks the worst of himself. He is afraid of committment. He denies that he can be a good father to his babies. He self sabotaged expertly so many times. And Rave gave him a wake up call. He has hidden behing alochol and meaningless sexy times but Raven is the one he loves. Raven and Nick has a fierce chemistry. You can feel the crackling sizzling energy every time they are together. But their friendship is even more fierce. They are each other's ride and die. It was a very difficult journey as they have to work through the mountain of emotions. It was definitely flirty and has plenty of laugh out loud moments, specially with the kids. The band is like a family and I loved the crew.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

Raven and Nick’s relationship is one that would be considered friends with benefits because while Raven has absolutely always been in love with him she would never tell him and risk their friendship and Nick would never be the relationship type. They may be best friends but he uses Raven as arm candy or when it’s convenient for him and she always goes running to him because she can’t help hoping one day he will change.
One phone call from Nick asking her to join them on tour for the summer has her interested but also curious as to what he really wants. When she gets there she is not ready for the shock that is in the form of Nick’s twins. Just when she thought he was changing his mind and ready to take a chance on each other he renders her speechless by asking for her help being his kid’s nanny for the summer. These two have a relationship that they know everything about each other and they are super close, but now Raven has to decide how far she will allow Nick to take advantage of her.
While they have a hilarious banter they are insanely frustrating when it comes to figuring their stuff out. They were both pretty immature at times and Nick relied too much on her without lifting a finger to help or get close to his kids. Don’t get me wrong I love these characters and group but there were times when I wanted to shake both Raven and Nick and tell them to get it together. Raven took up for Nick so much when she should have either walked away or refused to help until he got it together so when she actually did stand up for herself to him I was happy that she realized he needed that kick to get himself in gear.
I have to admit for the longest time I was more invested in Lyle because they say “he’s got a reputation for being immature and spoiled…” but the truth was he showed more maturity and character than Raven or Nick, it made me love the guy. Anyways overall this book was great I just wished we got to see them with the kids more because those were the real scene stealers.
Towards the end when Nick finally realized he needed to do better, be there for his kids, and be more for Raven made me fall in love with him. He struggled for a long time, didn’t handle any situation or stress well, but when he did get it together it made me happy.
I laughed a lot through this read, got frustrated that I wanted to smack some people, then I swooned hard over the man Nick became. I love these guys and really have my fingers crossed for a Lyle book.

    Al-co-hol me now!!
My heart just took one hell of a roller coaster ride with this story…and I. Liked. It!!
I thought this story was going to be one of those steamy spicy rom com this author famously dishes out!

I thought Raven and Nick were lighthearted young horny friends with a unique open friends with benefits situation.

This is not your typical rock star romance!

    Oh…it was so much more!!!

When I first began reading this story I struggled to like them. To me, they seemed predictable, immature and selfish. I thought the story was going in one direction and then the author threw in a wrench that gave the story of whole new level of angst!
There was a scene that literally had me re-thinking whether or not I wanted to continue reading this book.
I’m so glad I continued reading. These characters were multi faceted complex and flawed characters who evolved and developed fantastically. How they grew, evolved and developed was brilliant. These characters owned their flaws and illustrated how they evolved. Then, they set the pages on fire with their scorching passion.
    This book had it all!!

The result is a super angsty, poignant bittersweet story of second chances and tough love!

What Nick and Raven go through a heart wrenching emotional journey that was so worth discovering.
What happens between Nick and Raven is priceless.

There were some scenes in this story that touched me deeply an I have to say this is what impressed me the most about this author. The emotions evoked were so real and raw, I physically felt them.
My only issue was I wished we had more back story on Nick and Raven.
    4.5stars!

    GAH the emotions.

Good. Bad. Hard. Soft. All of them.

You know those books where you wish you could just slap, shake, scream at a character? You are so invested you want them to WAKE the F UP!? Yeah this is one of those books. So many times I wanted inside to knock a few heads. One mainly, but a few will do.

Heather did do a bit of slapping for us but GAH! I wanted to wring some necks.

I'm gonna put this out there, I know I'm most likely 1000% wrong, but still I'm gonna say it. I feel I pushed Heather to create an arc team just for me and this book. She kept teasing so I said I NEEDED to be on her arc team. For her to say she doesn't have one but was considering one. Yeah I pushed her over the edge and man I'm happy I did and that I was able to join.

    THIS BOOK IS AMAZING.

Will Pull At Your Heartstrings In The Best Way!!!

Oh Heather you beautiful incredible author. You hit me hard in the feels with this one! Especially that epilogue, I’m blubbering 😭 tears!!! I loved this book, even the times I wanted to reach in and shake Nick, I still loved it.

What a beautiful bond Nick and Raven have! Friends to friends with benefits to so much more. They are each others world, Raven knew it immediately, Nick just took some time to get there. But when he did, fireworks! Absolutely beautiful!

This story is amazing, fun, entertaining and will pull hard at your heartstrings. I was swooning hard from the very first chapter. A really fun, heart wrenching beautiful story!!!

I was trying to not binge this one in a day so I could make it last… these characters — oh.my.gawd. The spice is 🔥 and the romance is 💋😘 and the twins 😍😍😍. So much love for this book. Nick is a deeply complicated man with so many personal demons that he spends all his time trying to find distractions— but the one person that is his constant besides his band — is his best friend & sometimes f-buddy Raven. Raven loves him unconditionally while he’s on the road getting his rocks off with his groupies; hoping he’ll realize that they belong together.

No spoilers here but the love and chemistry between these two is 🔥🥵!

    This one wasn’t for me.

Heather is one my favourite authors and I always look forward to her books so DNF’ing this one was really hard for me but I just cannot continue.

    Heroine is a doormat.

He’s a rockstar and just found out a previous hookup died of brain cancer and kept his kids from him for 2 years. He wants nothing to do with them and ‘hires’ his best friend who is secretly in love with him be their nanny.

This has NONE of the humor/banter I have come to love in Heathers books.

    I’m disappointed.

  • christyheartsbooks

I really struggled to understand why Raven didn't walk away. She seemed like a completely different girl from Pour Judgment and I couldn't wrap my head around it. The stuff that came out of Nick's mouth was so awful that I also struggled to see the appeal from Raven. Then about half way through the both got a personality transplant and I liked the way the story was going and the changes they were making. Not my favorite from this author but it also could have been my headspace because it wasn't terrible and I did feel invested in their story.

Nick and Raven have a friends with benefits relationship.
He’s a musician on the road most of the time.
She makes herself available to him whenever he calls her to meet up with him for a hook-up or for some late night, sexy phone time.
She’s always had feelings for him and they’ve been good friends for awhile.
She’s holding out in hopes he’ll realize deeper feelings for her.
Classic tale of seeming unrequited love.

I liked that their story and their relationship was front and center very early on. It grabbed my interest immediately and held it until the end.
Their chemistry is super spicy. I really love them both.

When Nick asks Raven to join him on his new tour bus on a long tour she thinks it must mean he’s ready to commit….
She gets quite the wake up call!
He does need her, very much.
But, it’s for a nanny position for surprise, secret babies he’s just been given custody of.
He’s completely caught off-guard. And she is, too.
What ensues is very funny, emotional and incredibly steamy story.
There’s a lot of heart and heat.
There’s plenty of emotions flying around.
I liked the main characters, both are very sympathetic and fun.
I understood the position they are stuck in and felt for them both.
I liked the secondary characters as well, they balance the story and add laughs and emotions.
It’s a very entertaining and full story.
The author has a unique style of writing that I find refreshing and a lot of fun.
Great characters, fun storyline and completely enjoyable!
