Serious Applicants Only: A Horror Comedy Reviews

I didn't know what to expect when I picked this up, but it was super fun!

Mary applies for a job as a safety supervisor at a mysterious facility, and she immediately gets more than she bargained for. Wormholes? Cultists? Talking corpses? Eldritch babes who drive men to madness with love? Free lab coats? Yep.

Serious Applicants was a well written, super fast read with a cast of funny characters. It was short. (Only 100 pages or so), and as such it wasn't super deep as far as characterization or subplots, but honestly, that didn't dampen my joy. If you want a story with levels, look elsewhere, but if you want a story that is a quick fun distraction, this is it. Definitely good for a few laughs.

I am hoping Aric writes more. I got the impression this was planned series as a series starter.

Funny, quirky and witty is how I describe this book... with a touch of horror, of course!

This was a lot of fun to read: a hilarious and light-hearted play on horror and science fiction elements.

The premise of the story is basically, “We have a wormhole that is getting larger by the second. It will probably engulf everyone here, and the planet, and the solar system in a bit, but let’s continue with our job interview. You see, our male colleagues here would really love to have an attractive female staff like you onboard to ogle.”
