I’m not a stalker.
Watching her and making sure she’s safe is all in the line of duty.
I’m not a stalker, I’m the Sherriff.
She’s too young for me, too innocent and naïve. Too trusting by far.
She’s my buddy’s younger sister.
My job is to protect her, and if that means watching her, so be it.
Seeing her struggle goes against all my instincts, and I can’t allow it.
A man like me needs to take care of a girl like Alex.
The problem is, the more I do… the more she feels like mine… pure and simple.
Mine.
Alex
Coming back to Journey’s Close wasn’t exactly the glorious home run I’d expected it to be, in fact, it feels more like slinking home with my tail between my legs.
My older brother is still busy with his mountain rescue work, and everyone from high school is getting married and settling down.
I’m single, jobless, and can barely afford a studio apartment to rent.
At least some things are still the same. Blake Montgomery is still the hottest man in town, and now he has a badge and gun to go with it. And he just happens to be around every corner I turn.
When he insists that I stay with him, while my apartment is fixed up, the sparks that fly between us can’t be one-sided? Can they?
I intend to find out.
Welcome to Journey's Close, Alaska, a small town, full of sexy alpha males and second chances.
A standalone romance in a four-book series, where all the characters are interconnected with each getting their own happy ending. Insta love with real emotion all in a binge-able, bite-sized story.
A short, steamy romance with heart.
Steamy Romance - High Heat - High Emotion - No cheating - No cliffhangers - HEA guaranteed

“I lied. I fucking lied so I didn’t scare you off. We aren’t friends, and we will never just be friends. I just can’t see you that way, Alex. So, if that’s what you want, tell me now and I’ll stop, but don’t ask me to be your friend, because that’s impossible.”
I’m enjoying this series and thought that this was a good book. I didn’t like it quite as much as the first book of the series but it doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it. I always get excited when the word “stalker” is in the title. I love a good dark stalker romance. I really wouldn’t consider this a stalker romance at all. If pushed, MAYBE I would call it a light/safe stalker romance? Either way, don’t let the word sway you, I don’t think it holds too much significance. Otherwise, it’s a pretty standard brother’s best friend trope. I’m enjoying all the different characters in Journey’s Close and am excited for Sam and Mac’s story next. -
very sweet❤️❤️❤️
This was a sweet and uncomplicated story, with plenty of steam to make things interesting. Alex has returned to the small town she grew up in after her dreams didn’t pan out in the big city. The man she has loved since a teen is now the town sheriff and all it takes is one look at her for him to start lightly stalking her. After all, she’s his best friend’s kid sister. He’s just looking out of her, that’s all. Right?
Very safe, quick, instalove story. The only downer was that there was no babies in the epilogue. So things didn’t come full circle, but thankfully no condoms in the sexy times.
Hero has been celibate for years. Heroine is a virgin. No others, cheating or abuse. HEA with epilogue -
Alex Philips was on her way back to Journey’s Close. Her dreams had fizzled, but this would give her a new start – if her ancient car could make it that far. Her older brother, Derek, does mountain rescue work, while she is single, jobless, and can hardly afford the rent on a tiny apartment.
Blake Montgomery is the Sheriff now and seems to be everywhere she turns. Her brother had asked him to keep an eye on her, and he diligently doing just that. Then he insists Alex should stay with him while her apartment is getting fixed up. Oh my… she can feel the connection between them. Is he feeling it too, or is it just her hoping for that? Maybe she should make the first move?
This was a good story line. The characters are so likable and it’s one big family on that mountain. I have a feeling Blake is not going to be very lonely anymore if things go right for the two of them. Grab your copy and read their story. -
I couldn't say that this was a stalker romance story since the H didn't do what a creepy stalker did like breaking in, sniffing her, or dug her trash or something like that. No. He just tried being around her. Considering it was a small town and they were from the same circle of friends, I didn't think that was much of an "effort' for him, since he had actually been on the premises because of one thing or another. Plus, he didn't leering her and sexually attracted to her when she was underage or anything. He just felt the pull after they reacquaintance, when the h returned back to their hometown after so long.
The story was short, simple, with not much complication. It was a light and swooning romance toward HEA with alpha handsome protective gruff H. Sweet sweet sweet.
Virgin h, celibate H
No condoms
No angst
No cheating, No OW/OM, No exes
Safe read, HEA, Epilogue
Overall score: 4 small-town romance stars. -
Sooooo boring
-
I think my favorite part of this story was that Sheriff Blake didn’t recognize Alex when he drove her o to town. Honestly, since he last saw her at 17, 5 years previous, I don’t know how realistic that would be but I enjoyed it all the same.
I also loved seeing Blake jump in to scare away Tucker when he found him sniffing around Alex. This was a sweet story. I wouldn’t consider him a stalker but I really enjoyed their romance and chemistry. -
Alex left Journey's Close after the death of her parents. Her dream was her music and she moved to the city to try to make a success of it. Alex never got her break and is ending the end of her rope. Now she has the choice of returning home a failure or to keep trying to stay by doing her greasy landlord some favors. Alex packs up her car and heads home. Right before she reaches Journey's Close, he car starts to break down. Sheriff Black sees the car driving erratically and tries to pull her over. The car dies and Sheriff Blake gives her a ride to town. Alex is loving teasing Blake about who she is. He doesn't recognize her even though he has been best friends with her brother forever. Alex has always had a crush on Blake but she was too young for him to notice her. Now things are changed. Blake is attracted to her but she knows nothing can come of it because they don't want to upset her brother.
Blake has lived in Journey's Close his whole life and has been best friend's with Derek almost as long. He enjoys the town and his job but he does feel lonely. When he pulls over the car that is driving erratically and sees the beautiful young driver, he is definitely interested. When she insists that she is a local and she knows him, he is very confused. When Alex runs to meet Derek, he realizes that he has been flirting with his best friend's sister. No matter how attracted to her he is he should respect his friend and stay away, right? Too bad he doesn't feel that way when he is with Alex.

When her parents died Alex left Journey for school and to explore what her life could be. Now years later she was coming back after not finding what she was looking for. Her car was inches from death when the sheriff was trying to pull her over and she was begging him to wait until she was closer to town but that wasn't meant to be. Blake pulls her over but doesn't recognize her and since her car is a goner she asks for a lift into town and starts grabbing her stuff to load into his vehicle. Blake is stunned by the woman and still can't place her even when she says that she isn't new to the area. However he is shocked when she hugs his best friend and he sees that she is Derek's little sister. When he gets called out to a disturbance and finds out that Alex has moved next door to the man Blake isn't happy about it. Its not long before trouble looks towards Alex and she needs Blakes help. Will they get a chance to be together? Can he save her from the trouble?
This is an amazing story that I couldn't put down once I started it. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Alex can’t believe the first person she runs into in her hometown is her old crush and her brother Derek’s best friend, Blake. Blake is shocked the gangly girl he once knew is now the stunning spitfire and he can’t help himself as he stays close to keep an eye on her. With Alex’s safety at stake, she winds up right where she wants to be in Blake’s house and soon in his bed. Derek’s anger isn’t the only thing they have to be worried about and when Alex life is put in danger, Blake will do whatever it takes to rescue the woman who has stolen his heart.

I so loved Her Mountain Man Stalker, book 2 in the Journey's Close series by Gia Bailey. When Alex comes home to Journey's Close after she realize her career in the city is not meant to be. She doesn't expect to be pulled over by the Sheriff, aka her childhood crush Blake. He is also her brother's best friend since they were kids. Blake is blown away by the now very grown up Alex but he knows her brother Derek would be furious if he made a move. But the more he spends with Alex, the stronger their connection becomes and he is determined to prove they belong together! Excited to read the next story!

I enjoyed this work and found myself smiling as I read it. There were definitely some steamy moments in the story. The plot was simple but it worked for this work and created a wonderful story. I enjoyed this work and am looking forward to the next in the series.
I give this a four out of five stars. -
Such a great book with a bit of spice added to it. You will fall in love with the town as well as the characters in the story.

Five years ago Alex walked away from her home town, after the sudden death of her parents she decided to chase her dreams of making it big in the music business but things hadn’t padded out the way that she had dreamed. That’s how she finds herself driving her faithful but on its last legs car Betty back to where her story began. She is nearly where she needs to be when she is pulled over by a police car and there and then Betty takes her last breath on the hard shoulder, but the police officer that stopped her is none other than the town Sheriff, her childhood crush and her older brother’s best friend. Only he doesn’t recognise her and the look in his eyes this time show more than a little interest in the woman she now is, could this be her chance at fulfilling her dream of love or will he choose his friendship with her brother over her?
It was Blake’s turn to keep an eye on the towns city limits the day that a car that had well and truly seen better days limped into town. So when it sputters to its death on the side of the highway but when he sees the driver his heart stops, this is the woman that he has been waiting for but when she keeps insisting that he knows her, he can’t believe he would have ever forgotten her. So when it turns out that she is his best friends little sister no one is more shocked than him. Alex is no longer a teenager but a woman, a woman that he intends to claim as soon as possible. Will it cost him his lifelong friendship and when Alex is in danger will he make it in time to save her or is their story over before they ever really got started?
I have never read anything by this author before and for that I am sorry this was a well written story with everything that you could possibly want. Alex wanted Blake for as long as she can remember but with him being her brother’s best friend had never considered that they could be anything other than friends. Short read with plenty of steam, healthy dose of danger and a happily ever after. Can’t wait to read Mac and Sam’s story. 4.5* Read -
“I lied. I fucking lied so I didn’t scare you off. We aren’t friends, and we will never just be friends. I just can’t see you that way, Alex. So, if that’s what you want, tell me now and I’ll stop, but don’t ask me to be your friend, because that’s impossible.”
I think its a lovely paradox that if I would encounter Blake in real life I would probably run away, far away, BUT ALSO we love a strong protector who loves his girl and only his girl.
Don't let the name fool you, it isn't a dark romance and he really isn't a stalker per say, more like a very overprotective older man.... we do have age gap (10 years) and forbidden romance since he is Alex's younger sister.
It was a steamy and sweet novella and I am quickly becoming a Gia Bailey stan. -
Sheriff and singer
I wouldn't call this a stalker book, more of an obsessive book. I did love their first "meeting". I wish there had been a tad more meat to their relationship. Alex has been obsessed with Blake most of her life, and she talked about his looks being more than she'd imagined, but I would have like to see her like HIM for more than just what she imagined. Overall, sweet story with steamy bits. -
Alex and Blake
Alex is back to the small town she grew up and left 5 years prior for the big city. After realising her singing dreams were just that, dreams, she turned around and cane back hone and start over . The kast thing she expects is to cone face to face with her childhood crush, Blake and find out he was single and the new sheriff in town. Ok read. -
I thought this was kind of boring.
-
Mountain man bliss
My first book by Gia and thoroughly enjoyed it. Love, lust, and a sprinkling of drama - what more could you ask for? -
Dreams do come true
Makes me want to move to Alaska and I hate winter. I liked her humor as well as strong character.
