Private Gardens of the Pacific Northwest Reviews
-
All these gardens are unique. In a way, every garden is, per se, but at the end of the day the vegetation is the common denominator. Private Gardens of the Pacific Northwest gives us something more. Pretty, but not really helpful. There is a lot of text for each garden, describing the garden owner, earthworking or construction needed to shape the space, and other descriptions that might be useful (?) for readers who are good at visualizing. The captions for the photos are too short, are usually on a different page, and don't always clearly specify which plant is which. A good coffee table book for an intense gardener, and fine to borrow to look at, but not useful if trying to relandscape your yard or work on small projects or spaces.
