Can Erica survive the hidden dangers of an alien ocean? And the charms of the alien convict stranded with her?

Erica desperately needs a break from her domineering father - especially his latest scheme to marry her off so she can produce an heir. When she wakes up on a tropical island, it almost seems like the answer to a prayer…

Except she’s naked, alone, and she’s never seen an island quite like this before. She’s certainly never seen anyone like the big blue alien who walks out of the sea with a fierce grin and a massive spear.

A’rien is smooth, charming - and unlucky. When his latest scheme goes awry, he is tried and convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. His fate seems certain, but instead, he wakes up on an unknown planet. He has everything he needs to survive, including a strange, beautiful female. Has his luck finally turned?

But the more time A'rien spends with Erica - teasing her, protecting her, touching her - the more he realizes that she doesn’t belong in this world. Will he give in to his desire to keep her - or will the conscience he never knew he had insist that he let her go?

Each book in the Exposed to the Elements series can be read as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy romance is intended for mature audiences only.

A Nude Attitude (Exposed to the Elements, #3) Reviews

3.5 stars - This was my favorite entry in the series to date, as I felt like our leads had stronger characterization and motivation. I was also excited to see the macro plot expand significantly, which makes me more excited to see where the series as a whole may go

  • Sadie Hope

UMMMMMM.... this was a delight from start to finish and might be my favorite in the series now!
I love antiheroes and this definitely had one! And his character growth?! **chef kiss** And then there is a toughie heroine?! Just... loved it! Also loved seeing the connection to book one! (Can still be read as a standalone but more fun in order!)

    Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
    Steam: 🔥🔥🔥.5
Tropes: forced proximity, alien experiment, desert island, hurt/ comfort (minor), antihero
For Fans Of: Star Trek, low angst bad boys
    Subgenre: SciFi Romance
CW/ TW: problematic family dynamics, mentions of sexual assault (doesn't happen on page)

Another sweet alien read. I'm enjoying this series a lot. Happy reading!

  • Natasha Books

  • Blue Rose

If you love them let them go.

Another great installment of this cute adventurous series. I can't wait to find out what kind of beings are conducting these tests.

  • Sarandah chrysalis

Cute. Inspired by Aquaman much? Eh, maybe. Still fun

  • Anna Marie

I hated Erika from page one. There are veteran facilities without enough money to give food and shelter to people who desperately need help. There are hungry children, parents who can't find places to stay near their terminal children, and this MORON wants to rehabilitate wild animals? I... can't. Even. It made me ANGRY, reading that. "Please, rich daddy. Please don't cut off my squirrel rescue program! I'll stay and suck up to you even though you treat me like crap, as long as you'll fund my Bambi feedings! I'll marry whatever mercenary asshole you choose, just please give me money to save the ciadas!"

    ((((((GAG.))))))

Which immediately progressed to, "He practically raped me Daddy. Wait... why are you laughing?"

    (((((((( !!!!! )))))))

Annnnnd... then we find ourselves, like with the first two books, naked on a deserted planet/island with a map and a little bag and an uber-hawt alien who also has been left naked, with a map and bag. Oh, and the requisite Furbie critter. And then cue the the sex, sex, sex, sex... with no exploration of his past, depth of feelings, real connection for the reader.

Just like with the other two books, everything is provided: fresh water, game (both on a TINY island, of course), tools, fuel for fire, fruit... c'mon. THAT easy? No. It would never be THAT easy. And of course like the other two books, the heroine is completely idiotic and helpless, while the hero can weave hammocks, carve boats, hunt game, smoke fish, scale cliffs, etc.

The only difference here is that Tarax/Jane show up at the end.

Mostly? This lark of reading these has left me dissatisfied. But there's only one more, and they're free and only take about half an hour to read, so... I press on, hoping to be impressed, and finding more of the same. The same heroine in all of them. The same characterization in every male alien - Tarax could be Slitherman could be A'rien. The same cuddly little plush-pet.

I'm sticking with to see where it goes, but... not well done. AT ALL.
    Hrmph.

This was alright, definitely not the strongest of the series so far. And it certainly felt like the shortest. I enjoyed it, however there was a little something missing that I can’t put my finger on.

We have another animal companion in this one and OMG, Peri is the cutest little squishy. This was just so cute and sweet. A'rien was a cocky dude at first, just assuming he would get Erica because he wanted her. But even so he was totally sweet and protective. Erica was like an innocent sneak-thief running between the bushes in all her nude splendor, snatchin up the grilled fish dinner for her and Peri. It was so funny and cute. Such a fun story. A little bit of drama and danger like the rest, but very minimal and quick, which seems to be the general theme in each one. I like that about these. They have all the little aspects of alien strangers on an unknown planet facing dangers, but they're still super sweet and easy-going. They're very refreshing, easy, quick reads. I'm loving them. And I love that we get to meet up with the first couple, Jane and Tarax, and have sort of started a little community!

I think this is my favorite book in the series! A Nude Attitude ties everything together. Erica escapes her relentless and uncaring father by waking up on a deserted, alien beach. Erica definitely needs help. The woman has zero stealth and her survival skills are lacking. And she's not alone. A'rien is a water-loving alien. He finds himself on a beach and it reminds him of the waters of his home planet, Taivan. He has scales, a fin, webs between his fingers and toes, plus he's huge ALL over. He also has some "added features." Not your run-of-the mill cabana boy. He comes off as a little arrogant and sly, but in reality A'rien ends up being the most caring and protective male. I'm thinking he has one hell of a "smolder." Another favorite in this story is the little pet that Phillips introduces. His name is Peri and you will fall in love with him. Peri, in attitude, reminds me of the chameleon, Pascal, from the movie Tangled. I won't spoil any of the story, but you will love it! There's some good surprises in the last chapters. This book is sweet, steamy, adventurous, and ties everything together. Absolutely Awesome - 5 stars!!

Great SFR! Lighter in tone than a few of Honey's other series (I have a hard time with beaten/enslaved/abused heroine plots). Honey's heroes are always a combination of fierce protectors/warriors, passionate, yet gentle and loving. Even though A'rien was supposed to be the 'bad boy' of the series, we don't really get a sense of that apart from a few mentions of his rough upbringing. He has no doubt that Erica was brought there for him, and wastes no time providing for her and protecting her, albeit behind the scenes at first.

I would have liked them to meet a bit sooner. They have no meaningful face-to-face interaction until 38%, so it's basically insta-attraction that quickly moves to a relationship, but it works. We have an adorable alien pet along for the ride, and we get a little closer to solving the mystery of who and why behind the experiments. Very interested in the next & last book with a snow/ice setting. Maybe we'll get all our questions answered and have all the couples meet?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another couple brought together to be studied. This time, though, the alien scientists (not sure if they're actually scientists or just aliens satisfying their curiosity about different species, to be honest, but there you go) nab an alien convict to pair up with the clueless human.

A'rien is surprisingly protective of Erika despite his less-than-legal past. He admires her kindness and does his best to keep her both safe and provided for before they ever officially team up. He's also wary enough (understandable considering the circumstances he was in just prior to being dropped on the island) to not want to leave their cushy island and potentially face going back to where he was taken from. But circumstances sort of force them to make the trek and...hey, other human/alien couples! YES!

A tropical island, an adventurous couple, a little danger, and an unexpected meet-up with same familiar faces. *thumbs up*

La’Tok’at’bron and Va’ri’at’char are back in the lab. This time they will choose a criminal and see how it goes.
Poor Erica is having a bad day, week, month. Her father has decided she needed and husband and is blackmailing her with her favorite charity. After a horrible date, she goes to sleep and wakes up on an alien beach.
A’rien is having a bad day, week, month. He finds himself in a cell awaiting execution for a crime he did not commit. Do not get me wrong; he is no saint. But this time, he is innocent. So, he finds himself on a beach; he sees it as a second chance. Finding Erika is just the cherry on top of his good luck.
I enjoy A’rien and Erica's relationship from the beginning. they had their funny moments not so funny situations, but they stick together to the end. I look forward to the next book.

Love on a tropical isle - what fun!
I swear, these stories just get better and better as they continue!
A’rien has had a hard life, full of dangerous escapades that result in narrow escapes. He is quite the dashing rascal!
Erica has always sought to please her highly controlling father - it is never good enough. Neither of these two has had an easy past. I think they’re a great match, once they work past those trigger points.
I adore how protective A’rien is, while giving her plenty of independence in the beginning. I totally love their story! They have some pretty fierce dangers to face, their relationship is tested (it proves very strong). The companion critters these women find are just plain adorable - and smart! You really won’t want to miss this - it is fine entertainment!

Is a tropical island with a blue alien a dream?

A'rien is different in that he has scales and likes to swim in the water. He is a "criminal " so at first he believes that the island he awakens and finds himself on may be part of a punishment. But he is content to stay there.
Erika also awakens on this island and finds herself alone and naked. She soon sees a big blue male alien walk out of the water, so she runs.
I am really liking this series. We get to meet new and different types of hunky, sexy aliens that are all placed with human females as an experiment by some other type of alien.
I can't wait to find out who our scientists really are and who they actually work for.

  • Sylvia

Once again better than the last, but I think it’s because somehow the survival stuff in this one was written better. Still not great, however I liked the ending. Also, I’m complaint about the female lead (AGAIN) because they’re all white and all weak. Lame! I’d love for one of the female leads to be strong and be able to survive on her own without the help of a man. At the very least, I hope one of the next female leads is a person of color…

I also can’t say that I liked A’rien very much, always calling Erica “female”… how misogynistic! I think this series is truly not for me in that aspect.

Mostly what’s keeping me going with this series is the overarching plot with the freaky aliens who don’t breathe or speak, I’m interested to see their motives (if we’re able to see them)…

    Good

Another book in the “Exposed to the Elements” series, which are all standalone romances, but benefit from being read in order, simply because the history and background story make more sense then!

This time, a human lawyer and an alien criminal are thrown together on a deserted tropical island.

These books are sheer escapism and just plain fun. The couple need to learn to communicate, and overcome any issues they might have, before being tested. Ultimately, it makes for an enjoyable, lighthearted read, with a little romantic overtone.
Recommended for those who enjoy sci-fi romance.

  • Maria Macias

Good read for the nude attitude

I wasn’t sure what to expect but this romantic story was interesting. Being the first book that I read in the series I had no idea on how the two characters came to be stranded on the island. Thank goodness for the translator working and adjusting to English. Sometimes in this troupe if the author prolongs the communication it becomes tedious to read. Both lead characters are like able and fit together. The last chapter was like a twist to the story. It’s a quick read so I don’t want to give the story details away. It’s a light easy read with little angst. Read On!

👽 “You could be the death of me, zenska. And I would die a happy male.”

Another great addition to the series!

Erica and A’rien are such great characters.

She’s brave, kind-hearted and strong but due to her relationship with her father she finds it difficult to trust anyone.

A’rien’s past hasn’t been easy but he’s so protective and caring.

Really loved their relationship - friendship was built, dangers were faced, trust was tested, it was steamy and with a well-deserved HEA.

    Also, Peri was absolutely adorable!

The story is fast-paced and filled with adventure, cuteness and romance.

I loved it very much and cannot wait for the next one!

  • Andrea

I'm absolutely in love with this series.
I almost didn't read this book since I thought the H would push away from the h, however I'm glad to say he fell easily for her and gave me one of my favorite tropes: the H which secretly looks after the h.
I love a provider, but at times I wished the h would be a little less damsel in distress. She also could've been a little less of a "cry in every situation" kind of girl, but it didn't got on my nerves as much as I expected.
This story could've shown a little more trouble for the couple, like maybe more wild animals or a confrontation with the bad guys.
    Looking forward for book #4.

  • Erica Testa

Sometimes you just need a spicy little alien novella and Honey Phillips never disappoints!
This was a fun take on throwing two “people” (one alien/one human) on an abandoned island and seeing how they come together (see what I did there?) and survive and ultimately fall in love.
No lie- the only reason I picked this one up is because the heroine has my name. But this was a true unexpected delight! Fun and sweet with cute world building and a precocious pet. All things I have come to expect from this author. I am excited to go back to the beginning of this series and see what else is going on.

  • Angela

If the game of Survivor featured Erica, she would definitely be the one voted off first. With no survival skills, no stealth skills, and no interest in "making nice" to the handsome, well-built alien, her chances of success is zero. But somehow she makes a friend (Peri), doesn't fall to her death, and keeps her cheerful attitude. Can this stranded human become the survivor she needs to be? Will she change her mind about the alien A'rien? Will they manage to overcome all obstacles to reach their destination?

  • Cynkris

I love the two main characters, Erica and A'rien. A'rien is a bit of a scoundrel who has been set up and Erica is the somewhat abused daughter of a father who doesn't really care about her. They find themselves abandoned on an island with no idea how they got there. These Naked books keep getting better and better! I love the care that Honey Phillips puts into each of her stories. The development of the world and the tale is top notch. I recommend these books or really anything by Honey Phillips.

  • Carmen

    Loved It

I loved the latest book in the series. Once again a couple wakes up to find themselves naked on a strange planet. What I love the most is how the couple always comes to the planet at a rough time in their lives. Erica and Aeran were no different. ( I probably spelled his name wrong) I really liked this couple, he was such a sexy beast! The world building is interesting and the story behind the story is intriguing. I look forward to the next book in case we finally get some answers.
