  Diane Warner, as a foreign academic researcher, was finishing up her 7-week project on the history of the Al Ruarin tapestry dating back to the early 1600s. She looked around at the tiny office in the basement of the royal palace of Alraed and realized she would miss it. She left her office and the hallways were barely lighted. It felt sort of creepy today for some reason. Reaching the curators’ office doors, she found them locked and she saw no one inside. Where did everyone go? Sliding her exit paperwork under the door, she went up to the museum level and found it empty! The doors were chained shut! She pulled out her phone to get palace security to let her out and the first thing she saw was the headline: Global Pandemic Strikes – Alraed In Extreme Lockdown. She had to get out. She did not want to come face to face with HIM. She just couldn’t risk it. As the policy office receptionist repeated that she could not leave, a man entered and recited the rules until his voice suddenly trailed off. Before her was Alraed's king, Samyar Antoun, 5 years older but unmistakably him, the man who haunted her dreams.
  
  He explained again what the situation was and that she must stay. But he told the receptionist he was putting her in the family wing since the guest wing was filled with staff families now. In truth, he just wanted her near him. He had broken her heart years ago when he chose duty to his country over love. But once in her room, he kissed her and she never had a single thought of pulling away. He picked her up and took her to her room, and she fell in love all over again. Until he said they needed to talk, in the same tone he used when he had walked away in France. So she told him this was just a good time, and that’s all it could ever be for both their sakes. And breaking her heart, he agreed.
  
  This was a very well written story line that pulled out all of the emotions when the reader shared their past story and saw immediately that neither of them wanted to let go. Would this be a repeat of their heartbreak? Or was this truly a second chance being offered to make it work this time despite all the hurdles they would encounter?

  Diane and Samyar had been involved years but he ended things because of his commitment to his family and country. Now years later they run into each other and he learns that Diane has been near by for weeks without him knowing. This upsets him and he doesn't understand it. Diane tries to keep some distance between them when she realizes that she is stuck there in quarantine with him. However Samyar isn't having it he sees this as a second chance. Its not long before things heat up between them. Diane is still confuse because nothing has really changed and then she learns that she's pregnant and doesn't know what to expect from Samyar. Will he put his country ahead of her again? Can they have a future?
  
  This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
