Night Terrors Vol. 11: Short Horror Stories Anthology Reviews

  • Cobwebby Eldritch Reading Reindeer

A neatly-curated and balanced short story anthology, providing stories ranging from gentle humor and unexpected heartwarming friendship, to the determination of a boy on the Autism Spectrum with a powerfully eidetic memory and a bold curiosity who is never ashamed to face his fears, and tales you will wish you had read outdoors in bright sunlight. As always, this Series delivers reading pleasure as well as spine-tingling horrors.

Once again Scare Street delivers a winner. I am constantly amazed at the level of talent displayed by the collections of authors who contribute to these anthologies. Most of them are, to me at least, previously unknown. Given the quality of their work though, the won't be unknown for long. Of course, as has become traditional with this series, Ron Ripley closes it out with another chapter in the life of the mysterious Jimmy Hsu. Ron is one of my favorite writers, so I always look forward to his contribution.
Each book in this series has a certain theme. This edition is basically about monsters - both real and imagined - that haunt our dreams and realities. There is even a touch of humor in some of the stories. A very satisfying read.
